They should not have made Emperor the Dark Side choice and Commander Light side choice. You should have been able to decide to become Emperor or Commander first, then choose how you want go about your choice with Dark/Light side decision making. As in, a Banevolent or Tyranical Emperor, or a Peacekeeper or Conquering Millitary Commander. Neutral options could also have been considered.
For a Banevolent Emperor, the "rebels" could have been supporters of the old ways who think you are too soft to rule, so they are challenging your authority.
I chose to be Commander as a Sith Sorcerer because I didn't like the way they were representing the Emperor choice. Besides, I'm more of a hands on "if I want something done right I have to do it myself" kind of leader. and a millitary operation is a bit more fitting, so that's a consolation prize at least.

I was going to make my Sith warrior emperor for the same reason and then changed my mind for the same reason. More nuance would've been really cool.

@@diegodelacruzanaya537 perhaps, but all power is an illusion. Even a sith lord can be overwhelmed if you throw enough bodies at them. Sure it might take an entire fleet, but alone the sith will fall.

@batsoup3504 well it would certainly require effort. But the inherent problem with having only 2 members of your religion is that, if both the master and apprentice are killed, their ideas and philosophy dies with them!

The Eternal Fleet is nice but I want my fucking throne back on Drommund Kaas, it’s not fair, I’m more deserving than Acina I am Darth Occulus the throne is mine, mine, mine!!!!!
It couldn't have been more typically Bioware. You either have to be a saint and help planets that willingly acted against you before and pretty much give all your hard earned money away or you're a terrifying dictator. Why are you not allowed to focus on the people in your alliance? You need to spread your influence to the galaxy either way. It's just about giving your stuff away or taking it from others.
I have no problem with taking from others, so it works for me i guess. :)
Becouse it would require creating actualy meaninful options for the players. Thats not allowed in bioware this days.
@@sharemation5339 this is an mmo bro, they cannot go crazy with all the options, it was bad enough them trying to tie in all the different class arcs tying into the main plot. the story has to lead somewhere and they cant make totally drastic decisions lest they go through several retcons down the line, this game has more options than any mmo before it, more than either WoW or FFXIV, some are asking for way too much from an mmo already doing more than most
Except you can focus on your people? The peace keeper can refuse to give any more aid to Zakul. And if you want to be a Benevolent emperor you can negotiate with the rebels.
The real problem is no one is bothering to show these options on TH-cam

I love idea of darth nox eternal alliance somehow having a middle ground, not as bloodthirsty as sith empire but not being too peaceful and impassive as republic...hope that makes sense lol. Basicaly something in between the two.
I am curious if they are going to start adding Imperial Agent "Republic Double Agent" exclusive scenes again now Republic vs Empire is getting involved again. I still remember how they added a exclusive ending scene in shadows of Revan for Imperial Agents that became a Republic Double Agent.
I think they're trying to find ways to incorporate the stories and customization of all of the class stories, without, you know, having several separate class stories.
I say peacekeeper is better. The Eternal Alliance just doesn't suit being a Ruling power when it has the name Eternal Alliance.
Yeah pretty much everyone agrees on the fact that having the name "Eternal Alliance" for your faction if you go dark side is pretty stupid

I only had my sith characters become emperor even though I was doing lightside. It just seemed to fit the fair yet brutal approach i was making for them.

would be cool if depending on how much a character disaprove of you they backstab you and they become a enemy in a new expansion or something so that they are revelant to your character's story or they become your man enemy, i heard that in KOTOR your allies could become your enemies base on your light and darck side allignment

As black and white as some of the narrative is, I still prefer light side choices I must say
just don't go jedi counselor then some of their 'light' choices are just stupid. Some how saving a collection of medical knowledge that could save thousands is 'dark' while saving the guy who got trapped in a radioactive hole next to them is 'light'
Both those choices are in different contexts. Though I understand your position.

that's not a light choice, that's short sightedness xD
They're within character framework though. Consular isn't meant to be just pragmatic - but the highest symbol (among all the class characters) of the Jedi. If a Jedi won't help someone right in front of them from death, what 'good' (ethically) are they? Who else would they allow die for a more theoretical greater good? People *look up* to the Jedi. A 'dark side' Consular is only relatively dark side, but has a 'shadow' that illustrates how sometimes the smarter choice may not leave others with the best impression of your character. The Light Side is meant to be *difficult* to stick to, especially as it can seem even idiotic in the moment. 'Practicing what you preach'. Its OK to be 'Dark Side Consular' as it doesn't equate to 'Falling to the Dark Side', even if the writing and acting for that RP path isn't quite up to snuff (unlike 'Light Side' Inquisitor and Warrior, which can be pretty cool how it was approached).

If you save the one person it has nothing to do with doing the right thing, it's about what others think of you. Even though it's more difficult, the right choice is to let one die to save thousands. The witnesses will probably hate you for it and you'll have to live with the guilt BUT you make sure a LOT of families will not have to endure the loss of loved ones even though they'll probably never thank you for it.
That is the difficult (but right) choice to make imho.
In Star Wars universe I prefer the Sith to the Jedi, but when it comes to the Alliance Commander the Jedi is a much better choice. The Sith only makes himself new enemies every time he abuses his power.

I made my sith become emperor but slowly make light decisions. After seeing the Emperor fall despite having more power than any being made my sith realize that power is necessary but so is something else.

I am a LS JK but I still chose to be an emperor, hey everyone in KOTFE and KOTET kept trying to tell me to become the new emperor, so yeah I'll fill that role, I'm a benevolent emperor who winds up siding with the republic in the war for iokath

not for nothing but I feel like my bloodthirsty SW would be more interested in being a battlefield commander and constantly being in the thick of things while my JK who has begun to doubt the republics way of operating would choose to be a benevolent emperor

I wish there was the option to keep the fleet firing when I take the throne. Starting anew, without the Republic and the Sith Empire around to undermine me, bringing peace and order to my galaxy.
That's kinda the issue when you make prequels (and old republic is essentially one big prequel). There are just some thing where you know how they'll play out in advance. Which is why it was pretty obvious they will take your toys away before you even got them.

It's one thing to say "well it's technically not cannon so there will be some discrepancies" and "it's no cannon so Sith won and utterly obliterated republic, there were no Clone Wars, no Palpatine no Skywalkers and no Queen of England".

ETERNAL Alliance. It is seen by many people as a dangerously imposing on everyone else, only an 'Alliance' because it hasn't gained enough power and influence to overcome the Republic and Empire totally yet.

so idk what it used to be but i noticed last week on my light side sith warrior that if u are a light side imperial character and skip u will remain commander
i didnt want to skip but couldnt defeat vaylin in the last chapter of KOTET and skipped it after getting tired of trying and failing
when i skipped to Iokath i got the commander ending instead of emporer ending

To all the complainers here: You can be a Benevolent Emperor by choosing the "negotiate" option here, as it is the light side choice. It effectively makes you Neutral, since the "negotiate" option is a light side one (for whatever reason...) while the previous, "rule as an Emperor" option is a dark side option (again, for whatever reason...).
I have only one question: Can I make my Agent or Smuggler emperor?

Yes. Agent and Smuggler become more of a character background (like Paragon/Renegade Shepard journey in ME1 compared to ME2). Now you're the 'Outlander' (Knights of the Fallen Empire), with that background (including elaborations in Rise of the Hutt Cartel and Shadow of Revan), who has become the 'Peacekeeper/Emperor' (Knights of the Eternal Throne).

simple they don't want to rerecord an entire scene 3 times to distinguish between Emperor, Empress and Commander, Commander covers both genders and acknowledges that you are the leader
How does War for Iokath actually start? I just subbed and finished the last two chapters of KotET. But afterwards, I saw no purple quests, no new chapters, got no new mails telling me about Iokath, couldn't talk to any of my companions, nothing.

Does anyone know how to defeat that Sith Lord after the first chapter? I get roflstomped by him right when I attack him.
Which part is that in> I remember there was a sith lord in the place where you had to run around activating traps, barricades, and power cells. How I defeated him, was a bit funny, I activated my legacy powers, and threw a sticky grenade at him. Then when e was aggroed I ran to the walker. I fell before he was killed. But instead of running back, he aggroed the next closest group.
I don't know if I am just to fucking stupid but I can't start the War of Iokath questline.... I mean do I need to do something special?

I am going to be honest, I do not want to play SWTOR anymore but now this comes up out of nowhere, the me wanting to progress portion of myself wants to do it, because my character Duraxus leader of the Eternal Alliance. I don't want to play SWTOR ever again yet I don't want you to have all the glory by watching you play either. I am too busy with playing Overwatch Uprising to even care for SWTOR anymore.
