Congratulations to whomever purchased this rifle! Should be a pretty good shooting rifle and a good looking one as well. Hard to say about the price these days... I've seen many run of the mill rifles going for $600. plus and saw one on the Cabela's Gun Library for $999. just the othe night... prices are going nutty! Cool rifle!
I have a '42 Izhevsk ex-PU. Sadly full referb so no real visible war damage. Pretty nice shooter.
Thanks for the video Big Sam. Pretty thorough and well done.

My 1943 ex pu is a damn laser as far a surplus rifle. It’s amazing that even though the receiver is unmachined and crude the barrel is great.

No bent bolt , receiver numbered to bolt straight handle none snip.

Excellence! I have a Tula ex PU however my brother has an ex PEM.......Both are excellent shooters with very smooth actions, and lighter triggers than the run of the mill Mosin. Thanks again and keep the content coming!!!!!!

About a year ago I was bidding on an awesome gun. It was a late 30s Finnish capture pe sniper with an non-matching but period mount and scope. Went for somewhere in the mid 5000s, doubt I will see another one anytime soon.

If it was a sniper it would have a bent bolt handle or the bolt would show evidence of being force matched, may have a marksman barrel but was probably never in a true sniper configuration.

Bolt was changed to standard configuration because the intent was to put an infantry gun into storage. The Russians did not care about collectors.

Interesting video , one thing , I have bought several milsurp rifles off Gunbroker this past year and the only time I was charged sales tax was when I purchased a rifle in my home state & they gave me free shipping . Out state purchases there was no sales tax only my shipping fee

Really enjoying your videos! Have you heard of a "Sneak" Mosin, made in the 70's by Finland if I recall.

PW Arms for me was an good importer with good bores for many milsurp rifles.... I'm glad for the guy who bought this rifle but no way I would pay $ 900.00 plus for a Russian Mosin.. Maybe for a mint Finn. M-39 with these days prices.... 900 bucks for a 91/30 ?? nope.. jmho. Be well Sam..

@@comptongoldminer , That's up to the guy but I wouldn't spend 900+ for a Russian Mosin.... Maybe with a good bore PU sniper rifle and good scope.... I stopped at close too a $ 800.00 for a M-38 rifle on gunbroker that was in good shape but with 50 for shipping plus 50 ffl transfer and also tax would have been Over 900 bucks ?? No Way could I buy a Swiss K-31 or a Swedish Mauser for 900 bucks.... Then again add a few hundred and get a new good brand new bolt rifle that I could scope and have a warranty.. be well.

Hi Sam I have a similar rifle to this one (Tula 1934 91-30) and I am thinking about installing a scope mount. I’m wondering how to remove the pin holding the rear rollercoaster together; do you know how to?
