I'm a little late to this party but wanted you to know your guide got me through a full disassembly and cleaning without a hitch. The only part you missed was removing the fan x-clamp. If you put a small screwdriver in the hole behind the screw and pry toward the center of the X it will pop off the clamp on the opposite side. Repeat all the way around and it will be off in about 10 seconds. 99.99% of the rest of the video was perfect. What a pain in the butt just to replace thermal paste but worth it in the long run. Thanks for this video. Just got the blue 360 E. Going to disassemble and clean using this video. The power brick is like a mini console. Lol. I didn't know they had fans inside the power brick.

I did the teardown and everything is great. The main board threw me off because it's a Winchester. There is no heat shield on top of the chip. That back tab on the case was tough to separate but I got it. Thanks again for the video.
This is the very best instructional video I've ever seen on the Xbox 360E dismantle! I whish that this would have been the first I watched, would have saved me some time, however I came to the same methods after some time. I was given a 360 E from a previous owner that said it was gone. After a service it is now okay. However it was infested with cockroaches both in the console and the power supply!🤮🤢

I have E model too it was easy to clean now the original 203w Power supply I can’t figure out how to open up lol it’s like glued shut I tried too pry it open but it started messing up the plastic screws were out too I can’t figure it out I gave up on it because I didn’t want to break it.
I know this is a 3 y/o vid, but my 360e just got ethernet port damage from lighting yesterday, (console was off, but ethernet cable was plugged in) everything else works fine, even wifi. Is there a way to fix it? Console was like new and its not easy to get a replacement at this point, maybe a transplat from a dead mb

My xbox 360 e just wont turn on at all. In january i bought a 3rd party power supply and it worked but now its not turning on at all. I thought it was the power supply so I got another but even that one does not turn on the xbox. What do you think may be the issue? I plan to open it and clean it up but is there some way to see if the xbox is receiving power? I heard maybe replacing the rf module but that has more to do with the button. Any help would be great thanks!
At that point it sounds like possibly an internal power MOSFET or capacitor may be bad. That would be an advanced repair and is not easy to find either. Alternatively it could also be the CPU becoming detached. This would also be an almost impossible repair.
The time, tools and parts to fix any of these issues would possibly cost just as much or more than buying a used Xbox 360 E. It sucks, but at a certain point in a product's life, it does make sense to buy a full replacement versus fix it.

Im sad to say my 360 E i have had for 8 or so years since new just gave out. I just tryed to turn it on and i got the red dot of death. It was super loud and struggling to cool itself i think, i have never had the thermal paste redone or anything as i am only 15 turning 16 and it just now gave me problems. I dont have the tools to fix it and im at a loss on what to do. Im considering buying a referbished 360 from gamestop, anyways sorry for rambling i just wanted to thank you as i may use this video to one day fix my 360, so as i said thanks for the possible future help.

I don't have the exact model number. But to my knowledge it would just be considered "Xbox 360 E Blue". You should be able to find the exact information on the stickers on the back of the console in between the power port in the HDMI port.
Based on the info from wiki below it sounds like it could have been a Walmart exclusive for the 2014 holiday season.

I bought a fire damaged 360 E at a car boot sale. I plugged it in and it turned on and loaded up. Only thing is there is no sound. I plugged in a headset but no joy. Any ideas?

Yo idk if you still look at the comments on this vid but having difficulties taking the top off because in the back where you would plug the power cord in I can't find the clip so I wasn't sure if I just need to berate force pull it or somethin else
A lot of force may be required. I just took one apart a few months ago for a friend and it was harder than normal. After I confirmed everything else was unclipped to the best of my ability, applying more force did the job.
@13:37 is the area I was stuck at. In the video I used a metal spade thing and it came apart relatively easy. But for my friends console using the metal spade didn't really help and brute force did do the trick.

No, there is no cost effective way to fix the RLoD. If that is the issue then it is best to just buy another console. A temporary fix could be possible but does not last forever.

Open the "Copy, move, or delete individual items" section to get started.
Swapping the internal HDD between the consoles will cause issues.

Just pour isopropyl on the warranty sticker and you can peel it up in perfect condition and when you’re done just stick it back on and Microsoft will never know 😏
I have a problem with my xbox 360 e whenever I start the console or play a game it starts buzzing even though I've installed the game onto the hard drive
How long does the buzzing last? Did you install the game from Disc to HDD or from the online store? Do you have a Disc in the console when you start up the console or game?
@@MikeLikesThat the buzzing lasts untill I turn off the console no matter if I have a disc in or not, I've installed all my disc games to hard drive and have a few digital games but I don't know why it's like a vibration noise

@@TheCODAddict if the sound is not coming from the external power brick then I'm 99% sure the bearings in the fan have gone bad and you need to replace it.

You could use a flat headed screwdriver. On each side of the 4 clamp posts insert the flathead into the clamp parallel to the motherboard and begin to rotate the flathead 90°. This should bend the clamps ends allowing you to remove it. When reassembling, slightly bend the 4 edges of the clamp back to their original position or till ends look like a " U " shape.

What is weird is that they released the Blue Special Edition on October 7th 2014. The Xbox One was already out the year before on November 22nd 2013. The 360 lived on till 2016. I'm not sure why they held onto the 360 for so long. They obviously didn't do the same thing this year...

Se7ensins has a full article on how to do it but all options require some bit of soldering. You can do it yourself or if you could still find somebody doing it you could pay them or just look on eBay for an already modded system and buy it.
