    BIG COMMENT MENT FOR ALL THOSE WHO THINK THEY KNOW WHAT THESE 2 NEED TO DO. I can’t believe several of the comments I just read!!! Since when is it up to the viewers to decide what or which project Doug & Evee decide to work on today. STOP ASKING ARE YOU EVER GONNA FINISH YOUR HOUSE. It is so nice & completely livable.. STOP BUYING CARS & BUSES.. last time I checked it is their Hobby & Money NOT YOURS.. REALLY PEOPLE GET A FREAKING LIFE!!! It isn’t up to any of Us what these 2 adults do & when. Or what they spend their money on that is completely between the 2 of them. THEY HAVE NEVER & DO NOT ASK FOR MONEY. So why all the negative Nellie’s out there. FYI: I have been married 44 years & my husband NEVER FINISHES ANYTHING ON MY TIMELINE. IT TAKES SOME PROJECTS MONTHS OR YEARS IF IT EVER GETS COMPLETED. He is 65 & works A FULL TIME JOB 60-100 hours weekly STILL. He is a wonderful husband & provider so I just live & let live. If you have watched these 2 for anytime they do & complete so many projects together. How many of us can say the same. So my advice to all those who think they know what is best for Doug & Evee. Let us come inspect your home & finances & I can guarantee that you are a HOT MESS & probably live your life through others on the internet. GET OUTSIDE . GOD BLESS FROM WEST CENTRAL INDIANA FARMLAND

    Eevee and Doug never cease to amaze me! In spite of disappointment in the newest bus they accept and tackle the challenge without hesitation. It's like removing the wheelchair lift - although years apart they remembered details and made quick work of this removal. I must have missed a video. I was surprised by the tractor. Perfect for removing the lift from the bus. A perfect example of 'work smarter - not harder!'. The forks will be great for stacking and moving lumber. Such a practical investment.

      Sideways comment: it is interesting that they are semi-junker car enthusiasts but contrary to many of these channels they only get top notch tools and new equipment such as the excavator and the small MF tractor with lift and belly mower. Other DIY channels show buying and rehabbing junker heavy machinery and heavy trucks.

We do go out and have fun, but it's getting too hot now so we'll wait till fall to start having outings again. We don't like getting stuck in the hot sun all day.
      We went to the Jacksonville zoo and Busch gardens a little earlier this year too! Those were super fun and Maverick was big enough to get on a roller coaster! We plan on going to a theme park again this fall.

The exterior is the biggest part of it.

    If you don't sell the bus wheelchair lift, you could consider donating it to a worthy nonprofit such as The Arc, a senior citizen organization or a veterans organization. Most of them could really use a decent wheelchair lift and would probably come to pick it up. I worked for The Arc of St. Lucie Co in Florida for years and we appreciated donations such as that so we could transport our clients into the community. Just a thought.

    You have so many projects going on would it not be beneficial to finish one before you started another one

    • @livingdiyfferent
      @livingdiyfferent  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Well let's not devalue all the projects that we complete. We have completed hundreds! We complete projects every week and are continually moving forward to tackle the rest. For example, we just finished wiring our entire mobile home. That's a big project that we just finished. And we could keep listing all the finished projects.
      But let's just consider this bus. We bought it as an upgrade to our current bus. We were told that it was in great condition, well maintained, and it was ready to be put to work. But what we found is that wasn't the case. So it's not like we chose to take this on as a project. It's just life. So we're trying to make the best of the situation.
      And even with this obstacle, we continue move forward, finishing project after project. Just the two of us, with no family, no friends, and no help. I'd say we're doing pretty good and we are quite proud of all the finished projects we have done together; Especially considering the state of the world today.
      Give God the glory for bringing us together, and giving us the patience and determination to see things through, and the aptitude to get the jobs done, and for the means in which to do it.

    Just found this and I can't believe I didn't remember you had this channel. I love watching you two do whatever you enjoy doing. This is going to be good. I know it's going to be as good as new, actually better than it was new more than likely. You two are amazing............enjoying this already. Excited to check back on your other channel now and see if anything's up. I get upset if I miss any so I have to binge watch whatever I miss. LOL

    Wow. Wonder if you could unbolt the roof and go in with that beutyl-ful (as Eevee calls it) tape. It works good on mfgd home windows, so it might be a good solution for this application? So much wgt out of the bus, you might get the 0-60 down a whole second. >>;=) Oh nein, OSB for the floor and not even treated plywood *groans*. That actually makes me sad. Sounds like y'all'll be doing a full new floor and lots of sanding/primering in this thing as part of its restoration. At least all the rust appears (on camera) to be surface level and not deep/through any of the metal. Hoping you'll hang onto the lift to reinstall later because that is essentially a lift gate for loading in ground level heavy items.
    Although this project may seem a mistake, and I know it'll take probably ~$3K in materials to repair, I feel like y'all can make this into something very useful, and now you have "free couches" for the porch or place to sit while working at the other house.

    Suspect in the end we will see a completely disassembled frame with no floor and the fibreglass roof removed and then the rebuild. Should be interesting. Hope the sub-frame is in good condition, ie the vehicle was not imported from the northern tier of the US with salt exposure.

      On a project like this, each video will cost us more than we make. We're losing money on this deal. But it does help cut the costs down a little. It makes it easier to handle.

    Appreciate your honesty on a bad purchase decision. Is it worth the time and money to fix it especially in light of the fact that you have numerous other ongoing projects?

    • @livingdiyfferent
      @livingdiyfferent  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's tough to answer. Honestly, it's probably not worth it from a strictly monetary point of view. But, we can't just discard all the money we already have in purchasing the bus, so we feel that we just have to make it work.
