We bought a house for $1

- Found a one dollar mobile home on craigslist. It’s a 1980 model. We had to remove the addition and get hauled over to our place which did end up costing a little bit of money but overall we’re gonna be in less than a conventional house build
My Everyday carry to get it done
Leatherman Mut - amzn.to/3XzjUGw
Knife - amzn.to/3XzWkta
Flashlight - amzn.to/3XzjSyo

Heck the wood stove is worth more than $1! I think you did good!
When we were first married, any home besides renting would of been a dream come true 40 yrs. ago.when you're young getting a home even one that needs tons of work is better than nothing.good luck!
Thanks
Absolutely!
Yeah we moved a 1977 Schultz mobile home 200 miles to our 20 acre property we were up on a hill so the tow truck couldn’t move it any farther so they used a bull dozer to move it to the pad. It was much easier
Mobile homes are great, first home I owned was an older mobile home that was pretty much move in ready that I bought at 19 when I was pregnant with my oldest child. It was great, easy to do repairs and upkeep. Wish it was liveable, we still have it on the property but roof went so it's going to be stripped and burned. We now live in a 1700 square foot house built pre 1900 on the same farm but boy it needs so much work. Something is always going wrong floors falling, floor beams breaking, foundation work needs done and more. . It does make me miss living in the old mobile home wish we would have realized roof needed coated. Did a trade with someone for it 13 years ago and he was suppose to move it but never heard from them again. Tried to give it away for years long before roof was bad but no one would move it.
You got yourself a fixer upper $1 plus moving expenses is way better than a forty year mortgage, all you need is time and money and your gonna have a great home.
Amen!
a mortgage is better than renting. With mortgage you lose some money, but renting you lose ALL money.
great price! I paid 2500 for mine and then another 3800 to move it. 3 years later still working on finishing it LOL
I am really enjoying your mobile home makeover. My husband and I bought a piece of property adjacent to our house that has a 2002 model mobile home on it. It was in much rougher shape than yours. We first thought we would fix up and rent it but eventually decided to sell it after we did most of the structural repairs. A sweet young couple bought it and are preparing to move it. You are doing a great job!
Awesome deal for $1 plus appliences, hot tub and a nice wood stove. Its going to be great watching you guys turn it into your home!
Love it! Blessings 😊
Absolutely
Appliances, not "Appleinces".
Whew, bet your glad that is over with. She took a beating but hey for a dollar in my opinion worth it. Make her stronger where you can. Blessing to you in your new home and may you not run into to many more problems. Peace!
Good for you......what makes this work is if you can get help from family and friends.but for many they must do their homework on what your area allows with their bylaws....is it even able to move.....you sound like you know what to do and you have lots of help...what a blessing....blocks and wood from your deck can be reused.....I send you good wishes,
You’ll do GREAT with this ! You’re not a lazy person and you have lots of good bones to start with 👍👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😊 all these naysayers and folks that aren’t used to working for what they have can kick rocks 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️! MUCH luck 🍀!! 😊
Ain’t that the truth 👍🏻
SHIIIIIDDDD You guys got a hell of a deal. The wood stove ALONE is well worth it. I've seen people remod, do awesome jobs, drastically increased the value and lasted them for years.
I bought a mobile home when I was in the Navy. It was on base. Paid 3k for it, modified it a little at no expense and sold it for 10k a year later.
Bart 🐶 is adorable. Looks like he came straight out of a PIXAR movie 🎥.
osb at the ground will wick moisture. If you have the budget, get your new addition built then build a truss roof over everything. It keeps the unit cooler in the summer and no worries about leaks!
30 men and a keg of beer we turned that rig around 👍👍🤣🤣
Beer gives you powers frl😂
I think y’all will do great can’t wait to follow along as you renovate your new home
It cost you couple thousand to move it & set up! In most cases, you're doing the former owners a big fav and saving them money, instead of them paying someone haul these ole mobile off and depose of it! ...
Good luck guys 🤗. Can’t wait to see what you do with the place 🥳
That loose dog was pushing my anxiety levels to the limits. Great find and a nice new project.
Me too, I was so stressed lol
AWESOMESAUCE...Looking forward to your next vid...
Wow- I was just breezing through TH-cam and your headline of “$1 home” grabbed my attention….and now I’m hooked! It is so awesome to see a couple find a project home for so cheap and be able to afford the rebuild! You sound like you have a working knowledge of construction, mechanics and common sense along with a group of hardworking people. Good luck - we can’t wait to see your finished home. Bart is a curious, patient little guy- I know he’ll be thrilled to romp around his new home!
Wonderful! So happy for you! Great deal!
Congratulations on your new place 🎉
That’s one hell of a project Kelby! Beautiful lot you got there. Excited to see the next video. Tell Bart I say hi 👋 😄
Thanks man!
This is a great buy. Will subscribe to see how you transform this house into a home. 😊
Wow! I admire you for taking something like this on. Just watching it made me a nervous wreck! lol Going to be fun watching you make this a home.
Having lived in mobile homes, if you're going to build an addition on it I highly recommend putting a roof over the whole thing plus the addition to make it leak proof. Good luck! New subscriber.
That’s what we plan on doing! Thanks
Just found u this a.m congratulations! I need a 1$ mobile home and a place to put it and remodeling job too!😂😂❤
Lucky it made it. I’ve seen some on the side of the freeway. Not all are meant to be moved. Good luck. Keep all the usable scraps for other projects.
And we always have projects going on, going to reuse the old metal side for a goat/chicken coop
Love your project!
I plan on doing this in South CO so i can love off the grid with my kids
I am currently watching DIYfferent do up a single wide mobile home. Really pleased to land on your channel by chance. Have subscribed.
Me too
I live in a big triple-wide, 17 years old. I can't imagine doing what you did, but it was sure entertaining watching you do it! What an adventureI don't know if there were meltdowns behind the scenes, I'm sure there was frustration, but if you kept it together half as well as you showed on the video, I salute you! I have great admiration for those who, when things go wrong, just say, "OK, now how do we fix this & move forward?" instead of having temper tantrums. You have quite a project there, but I somehow think you'll succeed in the end.
It was a challenging day but meltdown or tantrums don’t do anything to help the situation. So none of that from me. I did say a few prayers. Going to be a fun project that we are very grateful for
What got me was when you stepped on your dog, obviously it got hurt, but you were too fixed on a $1 eye sore instead.... 😮
He’s a drama queen, little bump and he cry’s
@@koacres cries
@@Michael-zv8cl Dog was fine, needs to learn to stay out of the way. Why don't you go troll someone else if you are so offended by someone trying to make a home for his family & keeping a couple of tons of waste out of the landfill.
Just found you and subscribed ...This is going to be a great adventure .
It will be nice, can't believe it is so nice and big
Lot of work but great deal. Surprised those living room mirrors did not crack during the move. We couldn't place that here in my city. Mobile homes need to be 2006 or newer to place on a lot. Unless it stays in the original lot, then gets grandfathered in and can repo it on site. Size matters also, looks pretty big so that one may have met the minimum here. Used to own the biggest single wide they made. Most people thought it was a double. Still, besides the master, bedrooms were kinda small. Yours look decent. Good luck.
My boss left a newer office trailer we used on a job site. Just left it after the project was over. He should have sold it. Your idea is a work in progress. But a cool project. 👍👍. Plexiglass works for cheaper windows,
I love to see renovations looking forward to the end result new subscriber ❤❤❤❤
New subscriber. Looking forward to your future vids.
Looks about right for yall. $1 and 12 kids later, yall will have a high quality youtube channel followed by a CYS vist. Good luck cousins.
What a deal!! I would love this!!
Wow! That's the first time I've ever seen that done! I'm UK, so no surprise lol. Well done! I look forward to your next videos, with yourselves and Bart, works manager haha. 😁
I have just subscribed to your channel I love watching these renovation I think your lucky I know there's a ton of work but if you can do most of the work I imagine you will have a fab home wishing you a.l the luck from Scunthorpe England xx
Great job and loved the video 😘👍🏻💕💕🙏🏻🙏🏻
That was a juggling act moving that thing for sure. But in the end, completely worth the effort. Im looking forward to seeing your renovation process. And end results. I think it will be Amazing. Nice score for 1 dollar. Super cool 😎 👍👍
Looking forward to seeing more content on your salvage of the old trailer queen 😉
So glad to hear you were planning on redoing a lot of it anyways, sad to see the damage though. I am looking forward to future videos.
Yea that’s what I kept telling myself, we were remodeling anyways…. And it was only a $1 😂
God is so Amazing!!! All I can say is WOW! New subscriber great video.thanks for sharing. Blessings 🙏🏽😇
New subscriber looking forward to watching you guys
right on bro.. thatr will make a good home when you done i bet....
1 Dollar 🏠👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Greetings from Brandenburg 🇩🇪
A dollar is a good start well done
Great video. Been there and done that twice now. It isn't easy but it is sooooo worth it.
With your home set so close to the trees as our both have been in the PNW trees everywhere in the forest area. Suggest you think about anything that could come down and hit the home and perhaps remove it. We have been here 50 years and one did come down on our first single wide and totally compressed the top plate and roof. Fixed it , not too bad of a job.
You have an open book there so don't short yourself, sit down with pad and paper as you have so many options of building on building out etc etc......endless and you have the space. I think you will do a great job and It will be fun to watch your progress!
Best of luck and enjoy. Do it right the first time and try not to skimp if you can and you will have one heck of a solid building. If you build a deck at a later date do NOT attach it to the home proper....but it up close as if you attach it, it will settle through the years and start to work the weight of the deck onto your home floor where attached. I am loving the idea of getting to watch your journey....best of luck. Looks like a lot of work but a lot of fun too.........Bravo for that find!!!
Thanks for the info! Yes we were planning on doing a deck that’s not attached but really close. For that reason
Perfect!!! Ours is 12 x 63 feet long, lots of deck but it's our entertainment place and our garden area in containers as the deer eat the garden otherwise. LOL Ours is trex deck and nothing to sand from splintering and it looks brand new after 13 years. Scrubs up clean and tidy with the pressure washer. Excited to see what you come up with......exciting times, don't get discouraged with this project....it's huge but it's worth it in the long run!!! Happy 4th of July!! Also making it close but not attached leaves any water seeping off the deck rather than having moisture and leaves etc. stack up against the side of the deck and mobile........you're on it! Happy for you all!
I would buy it too.
best wishes
Bless you!
Best of luck from Ireland U two
I am impressed that you got that manufactured home exactly where you wanted it to go..you will be replacing them anyways so no problem...
the drywall
Looking forward to see How is going, good work😊❤ 19:34
Love Bart ❤🐶 and I hope your going to video fixing up the mobile home 😁
I am, few more days and I’ll drop another video of the progress
I loved Bart the dog.
get a 5 gallon bucket of liquid aluminum heat it up stir it up and paint the roof with it .
New subscriber here! After watching what you all had to go through getting her there, I gotta!!! That had me on pins n needles, lol, but im sure you guys felt that in real life! Beautiful place, cant wait to see what all you do!!!👍
It was an eventful day for sure! Thanks
Pay a “mortgage” to yourself… just put the money away in a separate account, and let it grow. That way one day you can upgrade and remain debt free.
Thats why the pros make the big bucks ! We would take 2x4's and diagonally inside on the walls open all the windows screw all the doors shut and 2x6's across the roof plus remove all the appliances but you didn't know , ive done 100's of them , and we used skates to move them sideways but nice job !
Yea that would’ve helped a bunch. But this company was cheaper… so get what ya pay for haha
Poor doggy
He’s ok
Nice
11:24 insert Homer Simpson saying/yelling "BART!" ...that is such a doggy behaviour to lay in the most inconvenient and or dangerous place possible... Edit also 16:27- 16:29 ish that heh heh has the same energy as Ralph wiggum saying "i am in danger"
Get ready to fight visit marriage counseling and then realizing how smart you are but you are about to watch time fly and makke memories. Great job
Naw we don’t fight, it’s our 3rd house
$1.00 and still looks this good JACK POT!!!!!!
A house is a house till you make it a home.😊
U get nothing for nothing but as U work U will b proud of hour accomplishments- GOD BLESS U- ( your not hour)
You did get your dollars worth. It isn't near as bad as I thought it would be before we went in. Looks like it can be something good.
Stay tuned
That wood stove is worth more than 1$
It’s a nice pellet stove. Should keep us warm this winter
The sheet metal is worth more than a dollar and frame 😊 theirs value in it❤.
Good luck. But I'd want change from dollar about now
It looks like a wreck holy moly
You can probably use a 3 quader split moving trailer...
Good luck
Today was my first day watching and I was a nervous wreck watching you guys try to get back mobile home where it needed to be. Add a little more damage than I know you guys anticipated having but I am going to keep watching until you guys get this home exactly like you want it just saying. Yep my first day June 14th 2024 just saying.
Wow, you should have taken the refrigerator and stove out first, the heavy things.
I saw so many "free" ones over the years that I kept my eye out for land that i could put my 5th wheel on and just search for a free one. I ended up buying a nice doublewide for 10 thousand just down the road. What process but well worth it. Its the ultimate budget house hack to live rent free and no mortgage.
That’s how you gotta do it nowa days!
@@koacres the reason I bought one instead of the many free ones Iooked at is because living on my own land in a 5th wheel let us save up and wait for the perfect home. Getting the land is the first move.
Suffered more damage in transit than on original site!
So does that come with the property or did you pay 75,000 for the property and one dollar for the trailer?
Oh no, I bought raw land last year, 7.4 acres.
I know you wont have to for a long time, but I would definitely find another transport service next time 😂
Thrashing a 20,000 lb trailer around corners like its a nascar speedway, shouldve kicked him out of his seat 😂
I think I would have fond some one. Else to move that trailer because they suck lol😮
Oh no! The blasphemy of putting drywall in a mobile home!
That should be condemned and torn down, you gonna try and move it 😂 free aint always free
We didn’t just try, we did it
Never seen a single wide........that wide, and that is very long, looks over 60 ft. in length. Damn, you did it, congratulations ! I could Live there, what a View.
14’x66’ thanks
Wow those movers really didn't know what they were doing or didn't care. We moved a single wide for most of my life growing up and never had any issues like this. Even as an adult I moved a mobile home that has a tighter journey than this one and mine didn't look anywhere near this destroyed
I think most of the damage was from lifting it with the wrecker. It would’ve been pretty good. But yeah hard so say. Maybe some specialty moving equipment would help with the tight turns on the driveway
Here we have swamp mats for oil field. Basically I beams on each side 4-8 ft wide and 4-6 inches thick with wood as a boardwalk in between. That would have helped in those muddy shoulders.
Bart is beautiful!
I watched a previous video, seems like a waste of $ to pour this muxh $ into a 30-40 year old mobile home. I could see it if minimal $ was poured into it while you built a stick home or even a shome. However i wouldn't have added all the new OSB, decks & additions. I reckon as long as youre financially pleased, that's all that matters
.
Not bad for a $1...!!!, God is good!!!only the moving expenses,do you have to move it?
Yes we paid a few grand to move it into place, still looking better on cash
Wow, it's not too safe taking it on dirt roads. Omg.
Im just in shock man
Only one available, we had a deadline so no choice
I bought mine for 5K and than bought property on the river and now 14years later still chillen and no renting
Nothing is for free , by the time you fix everything wrong lots of money will be spent plus the cost of moving it
Dont leave the clothesline. It'll come in handy!
Awh dang, I was going to grab it too but got too rushed and forgot!
Dang I’ve never seen one moved that ended bad like that. Is that a Fleetwood Barrington model? The only really bad one I’ve seen was a 70s single wide they moved in the winter and it crashed in the ditch. Could be parted out but wasn’t salvageable in terms of rebuilding it. I still think it’s easier to build off of something like this where there is an existing foot print and materials, versus starting from scratch
It’s a broadmore and yes, gives us a big jump start
Level it up and begin the journey
Man, that's a REALLY long trailer. 😮
66’ of the American dream 🫡
@@koacres Such a good deal! 👍 I can't wait to see how things progress. 😉
You guys really damage that mobile home. I have never seen a move like that in my life. SMH!
You needed a small cat! Very expensive fiasco! Showing us the cracks, look down the pretzil of a frame!
