Is anyone else sick of seeing these huge closets everywhere? Let me know what you think in the comments below. Let me help you on your level up journey and make the style changes you’ve been wanting to make with my FREE workshop: nothingtowear.me/
Love seeing this side of you. I believe that very often behind a huge luxury wardrobe is someone trying to fill the void inside themselves.. And this can never be filled because there's always a new bag coming out
In the past I used to love the huge closets and unboxing videos. Now I find it shallow. When I see Birkin everywhere online it lost exclusivity in my eyes. I still love nice clothes but I stopped shopping from boredom. When you are happy with where you are in your life you don't need to prove yourself.
I went one round of that & decided to slow down drastically in purchases to truly enjoy what I have. Donate/ sell items we don't need. My rule this year is not to buy any new clothes😂
Donated and sold most of my clothes and bags. Bought a 2 door ikea closet with literally a few pieces that I wear everyday. My mind is clutter free, my house is clutter free. I just feel…free 😅
Did the same! Moved a month ago and decided I was going to ditch everything I hadn't used in a year. Took only what i absolutely needed into my new home. It was liberating!!
Yeah, freedom. That's the code word. Freedom from being burdened by just keeping the stuff, taking care of it, thinking about what to wear etc....its physical clutter, mental clutter....
I had to move from France back to my home country after 8 years and all I could take was a large suitcase and a carry on. I never realised how much unnecessary stuff we accumulate. I totally get what you mean because I honestly now feel like I could get rid of even more stuff and it makes me happy to have fewer possessions.
For me Luxury is having a healthy body, meaningful friendships, good relationship with my loved ones and enjoying a colorful sunset with my beloved dachshund. 😊
Anna, you are so inspirational. I love to watch you evolving, working on yourself and getting better and better. If I have a daughter I would incurage her to watch your videos. Those helped me a lot. Although I don't think I would meet afluent man and make him fall in love with me, because I'm 53 already haha Still, your videos with tips for elegant, classy behaviour, responding with love, law of attraction, astrology I found very useful. Thank you:)
A year ago I set a new goal, it is to reduce the number of things, I used to buy 10 clothes a month and it was too much, I noticed that this is a habit, I had to give myself the "right" to buy 3 things at first, then it got better and better, I started selling unnecessary things on Vinted, I managed to sell more than 70 pieces :) This year January-March 24 I bought only 3 clothes! Now freeing myself from things gives me freedom, there are still a lot of things, but the process of purging closets helps me feel better, I recommend it, dear Ladies, BR
@@DJWNB Hi, my understanding is that it means being satisfied with sufficiency as opposed to excessiveness. It's a bit like the Economics Law of Diminishing Marginal Utility in which there is an optimal consumption level that yields the greatest satisfaction but adding extra units of consumption of the good, causes a decrease in satisfaction. There is nothing wrong with material things for we are living in the 3rd dimension of matter. I think as we evolve spiritually, material things don't seem to hold as much importance anymore. I found this very good definition on the Net for you of the Theology of Enough: It means sufficiency, not less than required quantity, not what is more than needed, excessive, and profligate. Best wishes...
If you have the money for it and it makes you happy why not? People need to stop the mindless money hoarding just to say they have it. It doesn't follow you to the grave….
@@krystalynkersey Donate it, spend it on beautiful memories, just do something meaningful with it. It's way more rewarding than owning a designer bag!
Our Anna Bey is evolving 😊 I used to do the same. But some time when I hit 40 or so I had an awakening too. I now only but “in love quality items” or spend on experiences like travel, visiting family and friends, a dinner date once in a while. That’s it! Nothing else matters. 😊
When I started following Anna a few years ago, never in a million years did I ever think she’d ever make a video like this. I’m actually pretty impressed with her. Her style tips like… ‘never wear shoes like this ‘ or ‘wear natural fabrics’ I find really valuable. Also her videos about good manners. And I thank her. But now it’s like she’s unlocked the other secret to life. And once you find it there’s no looking back. I’m very excited for her 💕
My long term partner and I recently realized that luxury vacations are more valuable to us than luxury clothing we won’t wear more than once or twice. Experiences > things
Shopping is a creative outlet. Collecting is how we relax. But there does come a time when it doesn’t fulfill us. That’s when we need to put our energy into our loved ones and the people around us that make us happy. Anna Bey, I think you have turned a corner. Congrats 💛💛💛💐🥂
Anna, I've been a follower for a few years. You've come a long way. Congrats on pursuing a journey of self discovery and rising awareness on what true happiness is.
It is a very powerful seat to sit in as long as you are healthy have a humane roof over your head and you are provided for all human needs food family surrounded by love that’s all we need but some how they have managed to tell us that we need to beg borrow steal work24hrs or whatever to have unnecessary garbage, while ignoring being authentic from within or that all these emptiness we feel cannot be filled with all these garbage they pay billions to promote If your mind is right you will have love and joy within therefore don’t need these made up must have garbage 🌸💗🌸
Me too. I get tired just looking at all of that stuff, and am so glad I’m a minimalist. I have just what I need, a few luxuries, and feel richer than these women who are slaves to material items. It’s encouraging to see that some are waking up out of their materialistic stupor and freeing themselves. And saving money too!😊
When you get to a certain age it hits like a TON OF BRICKS!!🧱 And you just realize you’re happy NOT having to have the “approval of others” and you can just live your life. 😊 ✌🏻
Bril video Anna ,I am 75 a lifelong minimalist and life simplifier. I have always found too many possessions a burden. Over the years I have acquired a quality, classic ,capsule wardrobe and a small handbag collection that I love .I take good care of my belongings and use them all.
It is possible to do both. Invest for your future but also give yourself the occasional present and enjoy today. Who knows what the future holds? So it’s good to do both responsibly.
You have beautiful things. I’m glad you came to the realization that you make your things, not the other way around. What you described in the early part of the video is how easy it is to fall into insecurity by comparing your best you too much to other people. Stay in love with the uniqueness of you….it is sooo liberating.❤ I’m a 54 year old PhD (retired at 48) and my new journey is to curate a 14-20 piece capsule wardrobe. That’s it. I top out at 20 pieces that I absolutely love.👍
I was just looking at luxury closets when I saw this. My opinion is that it is hoarding because a lot of the time they are just getting rid of or reselling the items they have; they just sit and collect dust.
They do collect dust! Which was one of the reason I started reflecting on the true value on spending so much money on all the things if anyway 99,9 of their time, they're just standing there not being used.
When she mentioned "stuff" it reminded me of George Carlin..."What is a house but a place to keep your "stuff"? If you didn't have "stuff" you wouldn't need a house. You could just walk around all day."
I'm inspired of Japanese people and their minimalist, respectful, grateful culture. Values and principles. I'm sick and tired looking at people who are seeking for useless and excessive items, external image, luxury, perfect style, fortune, blah blah blah.. Noone brings any of those with them at the end. What matters is inner beauty, peace of mind and soul, serenity, gratitude.. That's what attracts and inspires.
Japanese are HUGE fans of luxury brands like Chanel and Burberry though. I live in Japan. I feel that Japan kinda gets overly idealized in the Western media - not that it isn’t a great county. (I live in Japan)
Girl do they buy. I see them everywhere in Milano or the outlet mall full with bags. During sale seasons Chinese Korean and Japanese come with buses packed full almost daily. Sometimes I have fun just going there and watch the Versace line endless 🙈 while I can buy my seasonal Loro Piana sweater in peace.
I guess you have different people in every culture, but I would agree on my recent trip to Japan I saw a lot less screamy/ shouty brand-wearing and a lot more items being worn simply for function a lot of items well-made, without any brand name.
@@wingsphysioJapan is one of the biggest markets for luxury, it used to be the biggest after the USA, but the economy is not what it used to be. I agree they don't just show logos, but they are huge luxury consumers and consumers in general. In Japan there are women selling their bodies to buy luxury.
This is by far your best video! And I am happy for you that you realized that Ana. I remember going to the Galeries Lafayette during whole days, buying so many things (I was going through depression and loneliness) and coming back home with the bags on the floor… looking at them was just making me sadder. I had always dreamed of being able to buy quality clothes, enjoying days like these ones, they were dream days honestly - eating in restaurant ; but at the end, I had all I ever wanted but still no one to discuss anything with… I would look at my bank account several times a day as money was my forever goal… but all the money couldn’t bring me a friend, a boyfriend or anyone to show some affection/love. Therefore, I can definitely say that happiness is everywhere but in material things. Self confidence and love are what needs to be fight for.
We are living in times of more is more and consumerism is just based off of the next thing. Period . it’s almost become an addiction like a drug . none of it is healthy . Each new item is like a high. Honestly, I’ve always felt that keeping it simple is the key to happiness. Also collecting classics that you will have for a lifetime. I swear, social media is the reason why everybody is just never happy. I love this video content. thank you so much for addressing this subject ❤❤.
Whoever wants the luxury items and can afford them good for them, however I cannot justify tens of thousands spent on a bag when there are other good quality and original options, instead of wearing a uniform. I think you can look stylish as long as you buy a good fit and fabric in clothes, a good quality leather bag that is different and it is your style. Great video! It comes a time when we all realize that our dream to own luxury is short lived and doesn't really fulfill us.
Loving your spiritual shift Anna. So glad you are moving away from materialism. I always used to see your videos and wonder why are you only focusing on the shallow part of life? Now that you are going deeper - I am just feeling so happy that you will be able to guide your audience to light too.
The key is ACCESSORIZE! 😅 I am a reformed shopaholic, and I realized that you can rewear sooo much stuff if you just mix it and match it more and add different accessories. Like seriously I can’t get enough accessories bcs they’re so useful! I haven’t bought a new piece of clothing or shoes in ages even though I have seen really cute stuff I just don’t pull out the CC ❤ good luck ladies.
Anna, I grew up with rich parents who were very toxic, and I saw how miserable things made them, they idolised money and possessions and I promised myself from a young age I wouldn't fall into that trap. I did for a few years but have gone back to minimalism. I commend you for admitting this in public, that is a really hard thing to do. I still love your content after all these years of watching your videos. Kisses from Australia xx
Same with my wealthy friends. They actually went the opposite way after high school and kind of became hippies. They live simpler lifestyle and are still wealthy because they don’t need all the stuff for happiness.
What People need is knowledge, experience, abilities, information, good behavior Read books, enjoy music, fine art, practise good cooking, embroidery, learn a new language, knitting. Oldfashioned feminine virtues
I have a lovely wardrobe, many of the items classic styles thirty years old, but the best ones are the knitteds my mum created for me when she was in her nineties. She also created twelve for my husband, enough to 'see us out'. We are so proud to wear them. All our mending and alterations were her responsibility until she passed in her 103rd year.
Love seeing this side of you. I believe that very often behind a huge luxury wardrobe is someone trying to fill the void inside themselves.. And this can never be filled because there's always a new bag coming out
I donated and sold about 70% of my clothes the last year and I am so grateful about it! The minimalism but diverse closet I have now serves me better than ever! Now it is easy for me to find something to wear that I love.
I think we shop our dreams. We visualize ourselves at parties and events and we shop really gorgeous items that in reality we will hardly wear. Our personal lives are not exciting enough and so we shop to clothe our dream lives. if we analyze our REAL lives, we live 50% in work clothes and 49% in home/relaxed clothes. ONE percent is probably that glitzy event that we attend once a year.... but we still shop for it and about 30% of our clothes reflect that. Ladies, shop for your reality and you will wear all of your clothes and like Anna said, MAKE SURE YOU REALLY, REALLY LOVE EACH PIECE... or don't buy it.
My friend has a black tie wedding to attend. She had nothing to wear to such an event. But I did. Gave her five or six dresses I thought might fit her to try. I haven’t been to a black tie affair in my entire life….but I’m ready. Also ready for funerals….simple ankle length black dresses can go a long way.
Some people only watch a few videos and make a decision that Anna teaches only about how to attain lots of money or be around people with lots of money. I have gotten so much more out of her videos. I am mindful about the way i move, dress, sit, treat myself at home. I speak differently. She has taught me so much.
I actually "curated" my closet a few years ago. I realized I was in my '60s and was still wearing teenage clothing. I'm not the gray-haired flowered dress type, so I started buying the things in Ralph Lauren ads. Almost nothing I have is trendy. The teens in my church group are still borrowing my things!
Anna, you absolutely DO NOT have a weak of self, instead I believe you are undergoing a spiritual awakening, which is probably the most important transformation you can undergo. I encourage you to continue on this path. Sending you love and light! I love your content and you inspire me to continue my own #beingalady journey!
My gardening jumper is over ten years old, and this morning I embroidered flowers over the holes, that should keep it going for at least a couple more seasons!
I started following TH-camrs who have a more minimal and capsule approach and that reduces the fomo of huge collections and helped me narrow down my closet and identify my style better.
More stuff = more work that goes into storing and organizing the stuff which leads to less clear thoughts and less real life enjoyed. At least that's been my experience. Purge, downsize 'collections' and enjoy simpler and more satisfying, less materialistic, things in life. It's a good place to be. :)
True 100%!!! I sold all my clothes and bags and left just a couple to be minimalist, I felt sick to have a lot of stuff. We don’t need it. The most important to have kind heart and peace inside, more worthy! Thank you Anna for a such interesting and meaningful subject.👏💙🪻
Often, an obsession with name brands hints at underlying insecurities, with individuals seeking external validation to fill internal voids. By fixating on material possessions, they attempt to mask feelings of inadequacy, striving to project an image of success and worth. However, true self-esteem stems from internal validation and self-acceptance, not external markers of status. Glad you finally woke up.
@@BlackBeauty-yl8uqMy mom came from a poor family too.. When she immigrated to Canada, she became obsessed with wearing name brands and Diana Ross. She looked a bit like her. I never bonded with her because I could not relate to relate to the superficial material world she was obsessed with. When she died it took me over three months to get rid of her wardrobe. It was ridiculous. You are lucky down sizing makes you happy. For many woman though, the obsession with name brands is a real sign of mental health issues that need to be addressed. They think material things will compensate for their lack of self-worth and so they go overboard spending too much money on things they don't need just to keep up with luxury influencers, the Kardashians or in my mother's case Diana Ross.
@@idivas_Triciathiiiiis! « the obsession with name brands is a real sign of mental health issues ». I know for sure when I was 19 and wanted luxury brand make-up or bags it was to feel some kind of exertnal validation, etc. So yeah. Nothing wrong with finding a bag from a brand beautiful because of its design, but just finding a bag beautiful because it’s a certain brand… well…
Happened with me and an ex friend in college. She would talk about designer items all the time and even get competitive (even though I wasn’t) when I bought luxury skincare. That type of insecurity runs deep in some folks
Important video 👏🏼👏🏼 You too said it in this video: it’s not so much about how much you have or don’t have or buy, it’s more about if it’s you own decision and really what you want and makes you feel good. My own opinion is: I have less a problem with huge wardrobes than I have with glitz and glam, trash and terrible style. It always bothered me if a person buys things just because someone did it or someone else says it. I mean, it’s pretty human, we always did that. But if we want to grow and become more mature, more adult and a better version of ourselves, I think we should ask us at some time “is this really what I want or do I just copy something that I saw somewhere?” I live in Milan and Switzerland and I’m traveling a lot. What really bothers me personally is when people just follow some fashions and don’t follow their own individuality. I don’t like sloppy styles or incoherence. I truly enjoy Italian sprezzatura. I learned a lot from Italian and French culture and am eternally grateful for that. I have another point: If we look a little bit back, having huge wardrobes with a lot of clothes is not really a modern phenomenon. Marella Agnelli, Jackie Kennedy and Mona von Bismarck all ordered at one point or another several hundereds (!) of beautiful long dresses from Balenciaga, in one single order! I think that soooo many people have some kinds of collections. I don’t really think it’s a problem if someone wants to have a fashion collection or collect bags. I mean, other people collect art, ceramics, furniture, or whatever. But again: I think if it’s a personal decision it can be ok, if it’s just because someone else does it, it becomes ridiculous or even tragic if someone maybe cannot even afford it.. It can also be that at some point you like it more minimal, at another point you love it more maximal. It could also be that you truly enjoy shopping, but at some point maybe it feels too heavy and you want to give the things away or you start a museum at some point. Like Lagerfeld said after getting rid of his rococo furniture collection: getting the things is awesome, but having it is terrible. Or Elizabeth Taylor: It’s not the having, it’s the getting. I have really nothing against luxury brands. I truly enjoy the quality of Gianvito Rossi, I love the creativity of Manolo Blahnik, I love the Fendi peekaboo, the quality of luxury leather, wearing comfy cashmere or cashmere-silk blends, I LOVE comfort and beautiful quality. I mean money is so much about that: comfort, service, joy. I love Italian high-end furniture, driving Mercedes, I love the high quality of a Rolls Royce and their hard work in creating personal details, I love enjoying all the high quality, service and art that money can buy. But it makes me so sad when people don’t appreciate the quality or artisanship, the genius sometimes in the wonderfully created objects. I always loved the artistic and cultural aspect of our luxury brands in Europe. I am 30 right now, I follow your content for years now Anna and I continue my beautiful journey. I leveled up a lot, learned a lot and did a lot, I think you do a great job for our new generations of elegant ladies, from a wonderful European standpoint. I’m happy for you and your personal transformation. If I would say something to my younger self or some younger lady who wants to level up and do her own process/transformation: find your own way, you DO YOU, ask yourself what you really want and enjoy doing you. When I look around in the major European cities, what I really would like to see more is: personal style, more cure in our fashion choices, clothes that fit better, colors that fit better, people who put more individuality, culture, knowledge, know-how in how they dress. If I had to concentrate your teachings and my point of view in one sentence, to give some advice to a younger lady: how you choose and act in life is a result of your thoughts, beliefs, culture and knowledge. Don’t focus on your wardrobe, on your shoes or on outer things. Focus on what you have inside, on your education, on your knowledge, on philosophy, psychology and culture in general. Do less TikTok and more reading and writing. Listen to people you truly respect. Get some cultural, artistic, classical inspiration. Find out who you are and what you want. With this background you will assemble your wardrobe in the correct way and you will make the right decisions about everything else important in your life. I hope this message gets through to someone who can appreciate it ❤ with love
You are wising up. Those of us who are older and more mature learned early on what really matters in life. When you see those you love come down with deadly illnesses and pass away from them. When you lose your parents and the world is entirely a different place. When you realize how few years you have left in this world to make a difference. Each of these things and more changes your perspective. Thank your for creating this content for younger women to learn from and not be so caught up in materialism and comparism. Most of us who are past 40, recognize the real things in this life - family, love, a nest egg financially to provide for your retirement/health needs later in life, a purpose in your community and in life...these are the intangible things that cannot be purchased and are worth more than any material object.
There’s nothing wrong with having luxuries goods, but it’s definitely not everything in life and it shouldn’t define someone just because of their material possessions they own.
Absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying luxuries, something I will continue with as well. But only in moderation, and with the purpose of aiming for quality over fanciness.
I think a decent size wardrobe is good. I have a small one, and sometimes between travel bags, shoes, clothes, crap I need to toss somewhere not visible, smaller luggage because I travel frequently ... toys for kids etc...finding clothes becomes a chore. A nice size wardrobe will allow better organization. However, the ones in the video look bigger than my entire room lol
I used to binge watch closet tours and handbag collections - living vicariously through each person video by video, until one day, those videos I used to love, started to become nauseating and concerning. I went from thinking “oh man, I wish I had these things.” To thinking, “wow, what compels someone to buy so much stuff for exorbitant prices? I wonder what they’re compensating for.” Sure, some people just love fashion, but when you start treating handbags like a new born child because you’re scared to scratch it, I think there’s a problem.
This change you’re going through is beautiful! The way you’re seeing through these things, it’s the true levelling up. Material wealth is empty and self serving. It’s everything wrong with the world. This new content is so refreshing Anna. It’s so much more authentic, there’s nothing more elegant than being true to yourself and others.
Dear Anna - It's called maturity ! Mature not frumpy ! I too am wearing more of my old clothes, they are better made, better fabric and bring back happy memories. Now and again I add a signature piece that I like to pinpoint an era, but that is all. I love your shirt-waister dress, hat, as well as your pink sheath dress. How timeless are they? Keep going. Best wishes, Swan 🦢😄
As I said in an earlier comment, I don't have that level of wealth, however as I look back on the bags and bags of stuff I've given away, (because it isn't so valuable that I could resell it really, so it gets donated)... but if I had saved and bought one beautiful piece of clothing that was made to last instead of a bunch (my closets are bursting)of "sale" items I never wear I'd have been better off. I think she was doing the same thing as probably most of us do but on a different scale. The difference is she can make her money back. My stuff goes to Good Will, so it's quite a waste.
@@ybe7011 It's not a waste if someone else can benefit from it. You are helping someone who could otherwise not afford that item. You are sharing your privilege.
Thank you for your support! 🙏 I’m glad I’m able to share my level up victories with you. I’ve been investing heavily in my inner work and I’m getting return on my investment 🥳🙏🤩
very helpful and you really make me realize that being trapped in materialism is also a form of self-doubt and lack of worth where we have to prove to the world that we can afford luxury goods and spending exessively on anything and everything
this is the downside of instagram, they drive you to enter a worthless neverending competition of comparing yourself to other people to win some false acknowledgement of self worth
I have a large closet of 95% vintage clothes (20s through 70s, mostly 40s). It’s quality you cannot find anymore. I’ve gotten to be way more discerning in what I purchase, but I’m not perfect. I also have things I bought a couple years ago but have not worn yet. I know I need to purge a bit, but part of me is sad to let things go. It’s crazy consumerism makes us do these things - it’s up to us to do the work to break the cycle. Thank you for another gem of a video Anna!
Yes to ‘40s clothing! No other era fits my body better; I haven’t found a good source since I left California ‘tho. Please reply if you can refer me to new sources! Thank you 😊
I think if you're a collector, then it's a slightly different thing than what I was referring to. I'm referring to the general idea that to be a successful woman by today's standards, there's a certain stereotype.
Really great video, been a long time coming in the luxury fashion industry. Don’t get me wrong, I love a bit of luxury but really need to selective and appreciate what we already have
The pressure to impress others is amazing! I see others buying a style or purse in every color available. Same with shoes. I hit retirement and did a very honest assessment of what I need in clothes and shoes moving forward vs what I needed when working and going into the office. I realized that more than half of my wardrobe was now useless to me. It was actually very liberating to be able to let go of so much stuff and refocus my lifestyle to a simpler life.
Nice to see you finally mature. It's part of a spiritual awakening. In the end of the day we live and we die and all of our stuff is just "stuff". Spend your money on experiences and creating meaningful memories that you can take to the grave with you.
I don't think you are a phony like many others. I get a sense that you are a true seeker. I think your Soul is speaking to you and urging you to take a different direction. This is a time for you to redefine yourself and figure out...who are you? Although some of your lifestyle advice is useful, do you really think we are going to remember you because of your bag collection? Nobody is going to care. What people will remember though, is your kindness, your heart and your true passions. Nothing wrong with collecting beautiful and expensive things....but, at some point we also need something that nurtures our Soul. And that is the truth that is now speaking to you...
Anna you are so honest. Personally, I have never possessed a Hermes or Chanel bag but do have good quality items which will last for years to come. I know that I will never have a luxury walk-in wardrobe. I love your authenticity 🙂
I'm the same now. I don't allow myself to purchase without really asking: Is this actually me or the "fantasy me"? Does it suit my coloring and body type? Does it suit my personality, the culture I'm in, and climate? Does it work with other pieces in my wardrobe? Does it work with my lifestyle? It's all about authenticity. People are more likely to be attracted to you if you are authentic, not fake. 🇨🇦♥️
Ive come to the conclusion that Im a clothes hoarder. I see something and I buy it. I have tried donating stuff but I ended up just going out and rebuying stuff. Now Im going to try a no buy clothing, bags or shoes for 3 months. I grew up without a lot so when I had money I spent it on stuff that I had always wanted. I had to self reflect and ask myself why I was buying so much. It came down to loneliness. Now Im going to be content with what I have and see what different outfits that I can come up with. I know I have enough of everything to do this for at least 90 days. Wish me luck. Great video Anna, it showed up at just the right time for me.
That’s so true. People who comes from money doesn’t want to look and be like everybody else. They prioritize they sleep nice bed cotton sheets, pajamas, nice vacation on resorts, if they have kids with someone to take care of them while they are having nice self care. And those celebrities most of them get free stuff to promote the brands but never or almost never buy themselves nothing and expect us can pretend to be like them.
Thank you for this! Best thing I’ve heard in a long time! Just like fast food is out, let’s make fast fashion out of style! Mass consuming is not stylish or classy at all! Lot’s of love from Sweden!❤️
Hi there! I've been a follower for a long time, and I really enjoy your channel and content. I've had a walk-in wardrobe for over 15 years, way before it became an Instagram trend, and for me, it's just about convenience to have all my clothes and accessories in one place. I believe our wardrobe choices are deeply personal and what matters most is comfort. I'd love to see a video where Anna shares tips on refreshing our wardrobes for spring/summer 2024. I know there have been similar videos, but I'm sure there are some new extra touches that can elevate our looks this season to be more classic and elegant.
No need to let go of walk in wardrobes or luxury items. It's about reflecting over them and staying true to yourself, while not falling prey for overconsumption trends.
I love buying vintage hand-made unique bags, belts and jewelry. It’s so much more creative to develop your own style and it doesn’t matter what it costs. I get the most compliments on a $35 bracelet I bought at an antiques fair.
Same here! I get compliments when I wear my favourite brown winter coat. I bought it at a vintage shop and its the most beautiful long brown and white coat Made in England in the 60s I think. Its super warm, and while everyone else is wearing a puffer jacket I feel elegant AND warm in my vintage coat that cost me little to nothing.
Hi Anna😊 I am a minimalist, so all this huge walk in closets just make me shake my head😮 Why ,why does all this stuff make people feel good ?? If you have some desent close to put on for the different occasions you are going to, what more do one need ? Happines don't live in stuff. It lives in your heart❤ Simple living makes me happy, and it is mutch easyer😘 Thank you for many good videos🤗
I love clothes Anna. I love the aesthetics they bring and that they can allow me to express my style the way I want, but i never had the urge to purchase luxury brands. They are quite flashy , i dont want the attention to be in the flashy stuff, i want it on me, like clothes that enhance me not me advertising luxury brands. A tip is to never buy something very similar to the one you have in your wardrobe unless it is worn out. Nobody thinks about you repeating your outfits, they just see how amazing you look in that outfit, people are worried about themselves the whole time, which means you are free. ❤
Anna, I am glad you realised this and you are talking about it. Having 4-5 luxury bags is enough. Anything above this is just feeding the brands with your money and they become richer and richer and you just feel overwhelmed by the amount of stuff you need to find place for. I've always thought Chanel staff and management always look at those customers that buy their 30th Chanel Bag as the fools who are making them crazy rich.
High value is about cultivating really good character, a noble platform of morality, and a life devoted to making the world a better place by helping others. A poor struggling animal rescuer is a much more high value human being than a wealthy materialist who is hollow inside, narcissistic, and devoid of meaning and purpose. A lost follower stepping on the designer heels of other lost followers. Glad you had the epiphany. Pray for direction, God will answer. The message here is very good. The world needs it.
More important than the price tag of the clothing item is the fit of that item. That's what I've learned. Even an average priced blazer can look terrific if it's taken to a tailor to get the perfect fit for your body.
I think you're ready for motherhood. You are maturing in a way that's creating space in your heart for a love far more profound than anything you've ever experienced. I wish you all the best on this beautiful journey.
Love the fact I find you Anna when you had like 10k followers here, and so much shared so different values, and now we both are here, and I again agree to most of this. ❤
I feel the same way Anna 😮💨 now i find myself reaching out for a handcrafted pouch which was a souvenir from Manila. I feel uncomfortable when i carry branded stuff. I still want to look presentable and it is achievable even with basics
Well done,Anna! Better awaken a bit later than never. I had my aha moment a few years back. I am not spending my money on luxury items anymore as accumulating material things didn't make me happy any longer. I am donating a lot of my money on animal rescues, shelters, food, medical treatments for homeless pets. I feel immensely happy and accomplished. I'm glad that I quit on accumulating material stuff.
Loyal fan here and I’ve really missed your videos! I have always loved your content and your approach has always been very balanced. You have always implied that leveling up is more of a mindset and a holistic approach was required, not just luxury goods. That said, I’m continuously so impressed with your content and evolution. You have helped so many women, Anna. Keep thriving elegant lady!!!
Luxury items do not bring value to your life! ❤ I can't justify spending money mindlessly just to have a collection! No one on their deathbed ever said I wish I would have bought more luxury items! A man once told my father that he could buy the hospital that they were in but he couldn't buy his health! Puts everything in perspective! ❤
Anna, you've always been a pioneer in discussing elegance and class on TH-cam, even before it became a trend. Now, you are also the first one saying that we don’t need a luxury collection. I totally agree with you and you are guiding us in the right direction! Your ability to predict trends is impressive.👏🏼
Thank you for your beautiful comment! 😍🌷🙏 I don’t know whether it’s a trend or not, but I’m just opening up and being honest about how I feel because I’ve gained some new perspectives that I want to share. I also think this conversation is very important to have, so hoping more people will spread the message of “how much is enough?”
Went through this same realization many many years ago. True happiness is only found within oneself, it comes from being content with the person that you are, on a deeper, non-superficial level. Nothing wrong with treating yourself to a nice object every now and then when something really calls out to you and you know you will truly enjoy it.. but don't do it in a quest to prove to yourself that now that you have x or y bag you are suddenly more worthy or successful because that never works and is not the right way to go about it. The validation has to come from the inside, and it is a journey.
So glad you finally got there, Anna! I'm a super fan of yours, and your content has helped me immensely...but I always thought the focus on designer items as a token of elegance and high value was a biy off point.
Just remember that as you look at people who have more than you and feel bed because you start thinking that you need more, people that have less than you look at you and think the same thing. I never had a designer bag, I would love to but I try to feel grateful for all the blessings I already receive ❤
I completely agree with the point of weak sense of ourselves. In certain way it sure does give people a validation either that they ,,made it”, they are rich enough, can relate to other successful women, etc. Ultimately it comes to the point that more doesn’t equal better, more stuff doesn’t mean you are richer or more successful, but unfortunately that’s how it s been presented, especially because celebrities some of us look up to do have those mega closets. It represents the status of a wealthy successful woman for a lot of people. It is sad that in reality it is just hoarding and waste of money and it can never fully fill your heart with anything, but false satisfaction for a short period of time.
Absolutely. And to certain degree, some of these luxury items are "personal milestones", that hold emotional value in terms of "my receipt to my hard work". But the problem is when it becomes more and more and more, and that you're stuck in a rut feeling like you never have enough of these items!
So proud of your journey! We're all a work in progress! I slowed down my shopping habits a lot as well, because my addiction was bad. I have so much clothing and shoes and it's due to getting teased while in junior high and high school, as if we were all "ballers". So in my long adult life, I continued to buy more and more designer stuff. A walk-in closet is what I need, but it's because of necessity, not social media influence. I'm so happy I don't have to see individuals who are all over social media being braggadocious! I do believe in dressing for success. As a business owner, who sells jewelry, I want my customers to look at me and believe in what I'm selling.
Bravo, Anna! I don’t follow any channels with “luxury closets”. I’m just not interested in this ostentatious exhibition of supposed wealth. It’s tacky, frankly and screams “nouveau riche”, and desperate. Especially as one gets older, time with loved ones is most precious, because one realizes that time is non-renewable. Serenity, peace of mind, shared experiences, health, curiosity…I could go on; these are just a few of life’s true jewels.
Is anyone else sick of seeing these huge closets everywhere? Let me know what you think in the comments below.

Love seeing you on your spiritual journey
نريد ترجمة باللغة العربية 💕 وشكرا
Donated and sold most of my clothes and bags. Bought a 2 door ikea closet with literally a few pieces that I wear everyday. My mind is clutter free, my house is clutter free. I just feel…free 😅
😍😍👍🏻
Good on you for donating! ❤
For me Luxury is having a healthy body, meaningful friendships, good relationship with my loved ones and enjoying a colorful sunset with my beloved dachshund. 😊
Exactly. That's what it comes down to. Good relationships, having emotional support and making memories.
Anna, you are so inspirational. I love to watch you evolving, working on yourself and getting better and better. If I have a daughter I would incurage her to watch your videos. Those helped me a lot. Although I don't think I would meet afluent man and make him fall in love with me, because I'm 53 already haha
Still, your videos with tips for elegant, classy behaviour, responding with love, law of attraction, astrology I found very useful.
Thank you:)
Amen!
Time well spent is luxury

"The things you own end up owning you"
A year ago I set a new goal, it is to reduce the number of things, I used to buy 10 clothes a month and it was too much, I noticed that this is a habit, I had to give myself the "right" to buy 3 things at first, then it got better and better, I started selling unnecessary things on Vinted, I managed to sell more than 70 pieces :) This year January-March 24 I bought only 3 clothes! Now freeing myself from things gives me freedom, there are still a lot of things, but the process of purging closets helps me feel better, I recommend it, dear Ladies, BR
Right. I have been selling and doing so little by little. I cut out watching these addicts on the tube.
Especially the repair bills on exotic cars.
💯🎯❤️
❤
Social media has magnified EVERYTHING
Without a doubt.
It's called the theology of enough. You are really evolving spiritually Anna. I've noticed this.
I already told her weeks ago!!! And it's quite good, that's called up leveling evolution...she knows!
the theology of enough. I love the concept. can you tell me more about it?
Best wishes...
reminds me of King Solomon. "vanity of vanities. all is vanity."

Never has been for me and never will. Thank you for this valuable video. Time for women to open their eyes to mindless spending .

Same for me
Our Anna Bey is evolving 😊
I used to do the same.
I’m very excited for her 💕
Same same same. I love how real she is
My long term partner and I recently realized that luxury vacations are more valuable to us than luxury clothing we won’t wear more than once or twice. Experiences > things
Yes!!!
100% ❤️👍
There is also a travel toxic culture going on, if you don’t travel or don’t travel enough are you even making it?
@@candice44441 exactly! I also noticed this..
THIS. ❤
No matter what you do..... there's always be someone who's smarter, richer and better than you! So it's ok to be who you are😊
So true!
My mom always told me this! And I’m a grateful person who doesn’t compare herself to others!
That’s what I thought way back in high school… saved me a lot of angst, I think. The only thing worth “competing” at is being kinder.
True. Comparison is the theft of happiness.
Yes my parents said this so I’m not jealous of a closet. I’m satisfied.
Anna, I've been a follower for a few years. You've come a long way. Congrats on pursuing a journey of self discovery and rising awareness on what true happiness is.
I am so lucky that I don't have to prove anything to anybody. And I really don't care what anybody thinks of me.
It is a very powerful seat to sit in as long as you are healthy have a humane roof over your head and you are provided for all human needs food family surrounded by love that’s all we need but some how they have managed to tell us that we need to beg borrow steal work24hrs or whatever to have unnecessary garbage, while ignoring being authentic from within or that all these emptiness we feel cannot be filled with all these garbage they pay billions to promote
If your mind is right you will have love and joy within therefore don’t need these made up must have garbage 🌸💗🌸
That's a wonderful place to be in, good for you!
That is so me!!
Managing your saving, investments, watching them grow is just as fulfilling as growing your wardrobe, only without the remorse.
Well… you can’t take your savings to the grave - might as well enjoy life and buy something that you enjoy within reason.
It is possible to do both. Invest for your future but also give yourself the occasional present and enjoy today. Who knows what the future holds? So it’s good to do both responsibly.
❤EXACTLY 😂
So agree. And, when you retire, you never end of wearing all that stuff.
💯
@@AnnaBeyOfficialnot to mention the time invested into thinking, selecting, shopping, obtaining it, maintaining it etc ...
@avgonyma1 ooh yes, true true
The moment you spend more time taking care of your things rather than yourself, that's probably a signal that you have too much.
🎯💯❤️
Oh my god this is so true true
We are living in times of more is more and consumerism is just based off of the next thing. Period . it’s almost become an addiction like a drug . none of it is healthy . Each new item is like a high. Honestly, I’ve always felt that keeping it simple is the key to happiness. Also collecting classics that you will have for a lifetime. I swear, social media is the reason why everybody is just never happy. I love this video content. thank you so much for addressing this subject ❤❤.
You are the kind of sister that every lady needs in their levelling up journey who actually delivers genuine advice and guidance.

I have two bags. One to go grocery shopping, unbranded. One Chloé I bought used, to everything else. It's enough :)
What People need is knowledge, experience, abilities, information, good behavior
Read books, enjoy music, fine art, practise good cooking, embroidery, learn a new language, knitting.
I do all of those, but I also love mixing concrete
❤
I totally agree with you, Ana . Brands are making money by using influencers to make us shop.
I believe those "dreams" are planted by what we see in the media.
This comment is SPOT ON! 🎯
This is so brilliant and true!!
I bought all my Ralph Lauren from Poshmark and Ebay
Give them to young kids. I’m your age I wear classic pieces. Everything else is gone.
Lovely!
That's also a very valid point!
Mine is coming from a poor family and now could afford. But downsizing makes me happy
@@BlackBeauty-yl8uqMy mom came from a poor family too.. When she immigrated to Canada, she became obsessed with wearing name brands and Diana Ross. She looked a bit like her. It was ridiculous. You are lucky down sizing makes you happy. For many woman though, the obsession with name brands is a real sign of mental health issues that need to be addressed. Important video 👏🏼👏🏼
You too said it in this video: it’s not so much about how much you have or don’t have or buy, it’s more about if it’s you own decision and really what you want and makes you feel good.
My own opinion is: I have less a problem with huge wardrobes than I have with glitz and glam, trash and terrible style.
It always bothered me if a person buys things just because someone did it or someone else says it. I mean, it’s pretty human, we always did that. But if we want to grow and become more mature, more adult and a better version of ourselves, I think we should ask us at some time “is this really what I want or do I just copy something that I saw somewhere?”
I live in Milan and Switzerland and I’m traveling a lot.
I absolutely love where this channel is going! I was getting tired of consumerism, but now I see light in the tunnel :)

Well said
I used to binge watch closet tours and handbag collections - living vicariously through each person video by video, until one day, those videos I used to love, started to become nauseating and concerning.
I'm just curious, what caused the turnaround? Something had to have triggered the change
Keep going.
Best wishes,
Swan

“More unhappiness as a result “. So true! The more we have, the more IT OWNS US. The less we have, the more freedom we have. 🥰
A lot of huge closets I see are usually filled with nothing of collectible value, just cheap garbage and unnecessary accessories that can be resold.
I just wanted to say I really love the direction this channel has taken, your self awareness and growth is truly impressive!
Thank you for your support! 🙏 I’m glad I’m able to share my level up victories with you. I’ve been investing heavily in my inner work and I’m getting return on my investment 🥳🙏🤩
My mentality shifted like this when I had my baby 😊🥹 never been happier
I can relate to this!
very helpful and you really make me realize that being trapped in materialism is also a form of self-doubt and lack of worth where we have to prove to the world that we can afford luxury goods and spending exessively on anything and everything
this is the downside of instagram, they drive you to enter a worthless neverending competition of comparing yourself to other people to win some false acknowledgement of self worth
Totally agree
Grateful for videos like this and the awakening from mass consumerism. Financial literacy is my current goal at 40! Wish I learned this 20 years ago.
I like this version of Anna 😊 much more relatable to me personally. Although, I've always adored you. 😍
Nice to see you finally mature. It's part of a spiritual awakening. In the end of the day we live and we die and all of our stuff is just "stuff". Spend your money on experiences and creating meaningful memories that you can take to the grave with you.
As someone who's mostly subscribed for the etiquette and social guides and who can't stand most luxury brands, this is a fantastic announcement!
I don't allow myself to purchase without really asking:
Is this actually me or the "fantasy me"?
Does it suit my coloring and body type?
Does it suit my personality, the culture I'm in, and climate?
Does it work with other pieces in my wardrobe?
Does it work with my lifestyle?
It's all about authenticity. People are more likely to be attracted to you if you are authentic, not fake.

Lovely Video.... Finally something is shifting in consumers mindset.
As Vivienne said:
Buy less, choose well, make it last"
Ive come to the conclusion that Im a clothes hoarder.
Oh me too 😅 it was exactly the same reason. Now I try to save money and its going well so far. Wish you all the best ❤
Agree with you completely.
If everyone and their dog has 'that' bag, then it's not special anymore.
Poor nurse here. Your greatest wealth is your ability to travel. This is your most amazing collection. Your travels. ❤
Anna this video is so important!!! But we still need elegant style tips from you!
I have an elegance video in the pipeline for you and some will be surprised about the angle :)
Omg I love a consistent content creator❤
I’m glad you’re turning a new leaf and correcting your past. Promoting materialism creates negative karma. It can be undone
Thank you! I respect curators 100x more than collectors, because the former actually has personal style and taste.
Obscene collections are truly sickening 😪 so glad you are reflecting on this
Love the fact I find you Anna when you had like 10k followers here, and so much shared so different values, and now we both are here, and I again agree to most of this. ❤
I always ask myself, “do you like it or love it?’ Then, “do you want it or need it? If I dont need it and love it, then I forget it!
I do that too..
I feel the same way Anna 😮💨 now i find myself reaching out for a handcrafted pouch which was a souvenir from Manila. I feel uncomfortable when i carry branded stuff. I still want to look presentable and it is achievable even with basics
You are so right . A bag is never an investment . It is just an excuse for buying an expensive bag. There are other ways to invest .
Babe you are so raw and real. Much Love and RESPECT! Takes strength to be so open. Ty Sister ❤
The editing skills yawa😂😂 Much love from Kenya, Africa
Well done,Anna! Better awaken a bit later than never. I had my aha moment a few years back. I am not spending my money on luxury items anymore as accumulating material things didn't make me happy any longer. I am donating a lot of my money on animal rescues, shelters, food, medical treatments for homeless pets. I feel immensely happy and accomplished. I'm glad that I quit on accumulating material stuff.
Love that you are supporting animals with your extra money.
I can't justify spending money mindlessly just to have a collection!
I’m already practicing “simplicity” in everything in my life. This is a wonderful video Anna! Thank you!
I am so glad you finally realized that!
