  • I felt like the small standard wheel that came with my Thrustmaster T300 wasn't enough, so I decided to take it a step further. I put a real NRG deep dish on the base of my T300 by only using a simple adapter kit I got from eBay. The result was pretty good. Let's take a look at it.

    Can i rig this for my t248. It could do with a larger rim for some sort of makeshift return and ffb gain. Wheel operates a little slow for rally but is a great gt3/f1 wheel. Incredibly precise for what it is.

    CAUTION ⚠️ 🛑
    💥 When you pull out the cable connected to the stock steering wheel be EXTREMELY careful to not damage it, you need the original steering wheel plugged in for the buttons. If you don’t have it plugged in, it won’t even register the new wheel at all. 💥
    I broke the clip on the end accidentally and it’s going to cost me $150 to fix 🔥

      Do you think you need the hardware on there to fit the custom wheel on? I wanna just buy the base and fit a custom wheel and use controller for navigating menus. But 1. Will it fit like this 2. Will it not work cause it needs to recognize the wheel with the hardware. Idk any input?

  • @ChicaneMedia

    How's the custom adapter holding up? The durability has always been an issue as I've noticed people have had them break before. I guess it's dependant on material too

    • @BigTea
      @BigTea  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Occasionally I’ve had to tighten a screw here and there, but otherwise it’s seemed to still hold up pretty good. Granted I don’t use it daily, but I’ve had multiple people put some use into it overtime and it hasn’t broken yet.

    i would prefer the to source an adapter that uses the standard t300 quick release so i can switch between a real wheel with no elecronics and the stock wheel. there are plenty of 3d printed adapters for sale, but they are pretty pricey for 3d printed parts, and being more complex/ fragile than the adapter shown in this video im worried it might break. hmmm. and it looks too complicated for me to figure out a way to make my own.

    • @socks2441
      @socks2441 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jakemcgehee529 I dunno. It's just there are more options than shown in this video. Using the adapter shown you have to disassemble your stock wheel, it puts the wheel further out adding more stress to the shaft/ wheel base etc. But the adapter does not have to be as strong. If you buy the other adapter you can keep your stick wheel, switch between them etc.

    • @BigTea
      @BigTea  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      T300RS GT is probably the best deal for the money. I’d definitely recommend the t300 over a g29. I didn’t enjoy the feel of the gear driven wheel. It’s a good deal if you aren’t picky, but the t300 feels much more like a “real” wheel
