You have every right to complain about it. I do believe that it wasn't really the writers' faults, because they clearly wanted to go further than just this judging by how crammed in everything got (ESPECIALLY with the ships, oh god). There wasnt even a single twist or anything. Star's tapestry already proved that they would destroy the magic, and that was all that happened. Sure the dimensions were cleaved together, but that isn't nearly what the series finale should've been. Battle for Mewni genuinely would have been a much better end point than this.
I think both SVTFOE and Voltron teaches a valuable lesson: Don’t make up a plot as you go along. Because it may start out good, but it goes to shit halfway though.
See, this is why I’m planning out the entirety of the book series I’m writing even before I write the first book. Also, Blue Order, don’t watch Voltron. It broke my heart; it will break yours.
Eh, Adventure Time managed to make that method work. Granted, they did so by retconning things constantly, but it still managed to feel (mostly) cohesive...
@@FlyingPotatoChickens The thing is it is not an.... plot driven show. I mean sure there is a lot of plot but it is like random adventures with one or two plot episodes in a season. SVTOE was plot driven from the beginning. So this of course didn't work out.
Honestly this show didn't disappoint any of us You disappoint yourself because you can't find a way to enjoy this show >>> ( me from 2 years later, sorry guys, this comment was way too toxic, I apologize for making all of you feel mad, I got way into the shipping stuff back the days, it's perfectly fine to be angry at the shitty story writing, thx for the comment to let me think it through :)
@@AK-kf5dd we DID enjoy the show but once we see the flaws and how bad it actually was, that is when it started to look disappointing for most of us here
Star destroying the magic is like if Steven turned every gem into a human, if Ben 10 destroyed all aliens, if ash threw Pikachu in the trash or if Jake ditched Finn inside GOLB and ran off to do his own thing.
If Ash killed all Pokémon, or if Luz got rid of all witch magic (Which I’m praying to the lord she doesn’t), if Marinette destroyed all of the miraculouses, if Midoriya erased all the quirks in the world, and all of that.
@@fightingmedialounge519 but the destruction of the universe wasnt his fault in the first place, and by rewriting the highbreed DNA he saved them from extinction, star destroying magic was far more catastrophic as multiple species perished and several civilizations collapsed as they ran on magic
Gravity Falls had only 2 seasons and covered more story than the four seasons star has. Also when it comes tor run times I don’t think they have control, that doesn’t mean they get an excuse though.
I don't even get why the team having no control is a so-called "viable excuse" because the team knew that Disney won't allow more than four seasons LONG before they are making the later seasons.
Also let's not forget that star was willing to give up interacting with her family and friends again in another world, and almost die in the magic dimension to be with Marco. And morco was willing to do that same thing. Give up his family and his friends and his old life to be with a girl he JUST started dating. I don't care how you look at it, that's such an irresponsible decision. And that's not love either. That's straight up being obssesed with someone. Fu*k your loving family and friends I guess. Your new boy/girl friend is apparently worth more than all of them combined. CAN THEY LITERALLY NOT LIVE WITHOUT EACH OTHER??? ARE THEY THAT CODEPENDANT AND ITS FRAMED AS ROMANTIC??? My GOD Disney. Stop framing these obsesive relationships as healthy! They aren't!
it was an impulsive decision. thats what people dont get about this show, all these characters are very human and make very flawed human decisions. these characters are not perfectly sane thinkers 100% of the time because no person is. that's why moon fell victim to Minas convincing, thats why the MHC can't see that eclipsa might not be that bad. people aren't perfect. some are easily influenced. some are stuck in their ways. some are impulsive. thats the right way to write a character
@@chickennoodlegamer915 flaws mean nothing if nothing is done with them. The problem with the series was that off the bat they weren’t willing to explore the flaws of the main characters and have them learn much from the experience. They acted flawed, and they continued to be rewarded for it. That’s already unrealistic. So applying realism only when it suits the shipping is ridiculous. And it got worse as it neared the finale, characters were assassinated in ways to make Star and Marco look better. Instead of making the main characters improve, they made everyone worse. The exceptions being characters written to be terrible because the creator had their own bias when making them. And they even turned out better than most of the cast, since they came in flawed and actually had an arc wherein they improved. And the finale was the icing on the cake where the universe truly warps itself to give them what they want. I disagree w/ Blue Order in that I think the signs were on the wall from the beginning. But I think him, and everyone else, wanted to look past it cuz there were good things they loved and simply hoped those issues would be ironed out as time went on, Instead of making things worse. The creators were too confident in themselves, and it makes sense as Star is pretty much a self insert, so Star couldn’t have touched upon flaws and only bad people disliked her.
@@chickennoodlegamer915 Do you realise that most people in real life are not this impulsive, right? One of the main points against this show is the fact that almost every character acts in a similar way: they gave in to their impulsions, causes destruction and chaos as consequence and are rewarded for it. Also, Moon was the one to get Mina to work for her, she even say it herself: "no, Mina is working for me". I understand liking the show and stuff, but literally retconning things to make critics look irrational is kind of disonest.
This was a horrible finale. Star randomly has a temper tantrum and decides to murder magic, comitting mass magical genocide and laughs at the deaths. She also causes all dimensions to merge essentially creating a permanent Weirdmaggedon that clearly requires the creation of an scp foundation organization. She doesn 't even solve her main problem, or kill her main target. AND THE SHOW TREATS THIS AS A HAPPY ENDING. Plus, we didn't even get a full season of starco.
Here's some unresolved plot points -Toffee connection with Eclipsa - Marco connnection with Toffee -Marco becoming evil -Marco connection with Celena -Celena's secrets in general -possible connection between Jushtin and Festivia - the return of monster arm - When did Toffee and Glossarick meet - Seth entire character and his connection with Toffee - why is Toffee is called Toffee and what would be his real name The only question that was answered was the importance of the cards symbols
I can answer these questions. In the official book of spells, it states that Toffee apparently Dated Eclipsa , however she broke up with Toffee after he murdered Eclipsa's Mother. She described Toffee as being Tough, but not the joking type. Toffee and Marco don't have any connection. Marco didn't turn "EVIL", he was just possessed. That's literally what the spell is, Star and Glossaryk fixed it at the end of the episode. "Lukcily, there's a spell to fix that" - Glossarick. The next episode Marco is fine. As for Justin and Festivia, "Jushtin gave up his Mewni throne when Skywynne became pregnant with his younger sister Solaria, due to Mewni being a matriarchal society. Solaria would become the next Queen of Mewni, Jushtin served as one of her diplomats to ally the Butterfly, Pony Head and Lucitor families against the monsters in the Mewman-Monster War. The monster arm episode is just a gag, it's not important and that "virus line wasn't to be taken seriously. Toffee and Glossaryk met when Toffee was younger. He pretty much broke glossarick's arm as a prank. "Seth the oldest septarian and according to Globgor and Eclipsa, he is often described as an extremist and likes to hold a grudge for centuries like the rest of the Septarians. Moreover, Comet Butterfly described him as an old and decaying monster with rotten hatred and ideas but dangerously attractive to the young generations of the Septarians. Most peaceful monsters reviled and feared him as even Globgor, called him troublesome and despicable. Furthermore, he is also the reason why Eclipsa developed the darkest spell to combat his race. He assisted Toffee in killing Comet butterfly. Toffees real name is "The Lizard". He is called Toffee because....he likes sweets. The issue with Star VS is that all the answers are in the Book of Spells, the show relies too heavily on an outside source to provide answers. Star Vs The Forces Of Evil has failed to do what Gravity Falls did better.
It’s one thing to have an anticlimactic ending, that happens quite a bit in shows. But, why the hell did they put in an incredibly ominous scene where Marco gets impaled by a dark unicorn, then focus the camera in on the wound to stress its importance if absolutely nothing came of it. I feel like they just put that in their because they knew people would make a ton of theories about it. That’s not satisfying storytelling.
Also what was the deal with Marco's check lights? Only the royal family gets those. The showed that in season 3 and at the end when they killed the magic...only to never explain it (and that's only 1 thing that wasnt explained)
If the damn writers were actually decent for this season, they could’ve built up a different plot like where Mewmans slowly came together with monsters while a smaller faction joined whatever the fuck the villain’s name was. Then it could’ve been Mewmans + monsters Vs. the experiment army. The only thing that destroying magic did well as a plot point was making Toffee’s entire plan come together and showing he ultimately won. HELL, maybe Star could’ve spoken with Toffee and figured a non-magic destroying way to prove him wrong and show monsters and Mewmans can in fact coexist. But NOPE! StArCO iS EnDgAmE aNd NoThInG elSe MatTErs! Sorry for the rant but it just feels horrendous to see such good story turn into a dumpster fire
I think that wasn’t a great idea either. Also they let Mina just walk away! She will probably rally an army again, but this time since no one has magic they’ll just battle it out the old fashioned way. So how did this really save the day? Seems like they killed a few people too(the pure magic beings)And who knows how many other problems Star just created for all the denizens of the various dimensions. They should have just had the 4 suite queens come together and do something magical that was so amazing that it stopped Mina.
It was an extremely impulsive decision for sure. With how many characters that died because of this, and all of the relationships that would be permanently cut off thanks to this (before the deus ex machina ending, mind) there definitely was a better solution than this. I didn't see it coming at all, personally I mean, the _best_ way to avoid this mess entirely would have been for the writers to understand that Moon was terribly out-of-character by being the cause of all this, and that ruining her character and the pacing of the show just to set this stuff up was a poor writing decision, but hey, we all kind of knew this was coming.
I think what really sells home the “true focus” of the show is the last shot it ends on. Most if not all shows tend to end on something that perfectly encapsulates the show as a whole (Adventure Time, Steven Universe, etc), and in the case of those examples usually end with some mock-up of the opening. The final shot of this series is Star and Marco looking at each other lovingly, nothing else really shown behind them, no other important characters visible, just them alone. And this was after this crazy move (that btw is never explained) that somehow merges all their dimensions together. You’d think that’d be a big deal and there would be like some epilogue showing adjustments to this new world, maybe some characters get closure or catharsis in some regard. But no. They decided the final shot to leave on were the two leads, two friends who spent the majority of the series trying to hammer in the fact they just wanted to stay friends, looking eye to eye in a loving gaze, despite a whole bunch of crazy change going on around them. It’s honestly a testament to the show as a whole: a bunch of crazy, interesting stuff in the background that never goes anywhere or gets an explanation while the show focuses so much on a single ship. The entire show and it’s plot with the monster relations, royalty scandals and various other interesting routes gets scrapped to bend to the whim of a f*cking ship. Moral of the story: don’t derail your plot just to make a ship canon. A ship of two characters shouldn’t be the focus of an entire series, especially one that actually had a story to tell.
People called Steven Universe's "Change Your Mind" rushed, and it was in a lot of ways, but it was also sincere and closed story beats while leaving things open for future events in a way that doesn't necessarily need to be followed up on. In a way, Star VS is what happens if you try to make a show like Steven Universe but lack the basic understanding of what makes it so special, even after SU's supposed "decline".
Steven Universe never really declined for me personally. It always got better as it went on. SVTFOE, on the otherhand, started declining after Battle of Mewni and in season 4 in particular, before going down really fast in the last episodes and crashing at the end.
After watching this episode, I just felt...empty. I knew I wouldn't be completely happy with how it would end, but it was around the point that Mina, the big bad of the season, was defeated by a HORSE, that I just became numb. That feeling lasted through the rest of the episode, and when it ended all I thought was, "Oh, that's it."
solarian power comes from magic. that power can demonstrate strength against mewmans and monsters, but when put up against pure magic, (the dark milhorse), magic will prevail, since her strength comes from the magic. hope I explained that well
Wouldn't it be amazing if this is what Toffee planned from the beginning? Having the two worlds combined would ravage everything. That would be amazing!
Destroying magic didn't really do anything though. It doesn't matter how much power you take away from the world, someone will always have more power than other people. If anything it hurt more people than it helped. Several ponies and magic beings just straight up died, and the combining of dimensions will lead to a lot of problems.
I think they could have done with one less season, and wrap things up in season 3. Dump a lot of what happened in S4, wrap up Starco shortly after the photo booth kiss, and end with Eclipsa getting Meteora back, with Star and Moon rebuilding a more inclusive kingdom.
Can’t wait for the graphic novel which takes place after the apocalypse that occurred after dimensions were merged. People would panic, nobody would know what’s going on, and people would resort to violence.
@@JellyFishGell basically after the merger happens, humanity as whole collectively begins to panic. Mina, who is still around and HASN'T BEEN CAPTURED, shows up at a conference of human leaders and informs them that if the entirety of Mewni's population was wiped out-Mewmans, Monsters, and anything else that lived there prior to the merger-the entire world would transform back into Earth, leaving absolutely no trace of Mewni whatsoever. The humans decide to test Mina's assumption by hunting down and killing several of Mewni's indigenous inhabitants, and as a result of doing so, a small part of the merged planet loses any traces of Mewni, becoming nothing but normal Earth. this sparks a global hunt for all of Mewni's populations, as humanity wants their damn planet back NOW, forcing the surviving Mewmans and Monsters to go into hiding, with the surviving major characters wondering where Star is. spoiler alert: she's off galivanting with Marco in a secluded part of the merged world, completely unaware of what exactly is happening to her friends and people-and even if she did know, she's too busy being selfishly romantic to care, and even if she did care, without the wand she is literally useless. Eventually things go from bad to worse as Mina's old suit of armor is salvaged and reactivated using a combination of solar panels and a miniature nuclear reactor, and is upgraded with human weaponry to make it even more dangerous. Eventually some sort of final battle happens, with Star pulling out some kind of Deus ex Machina that allows her to fight Mina's battle mech, while everyone else is making one last stand against the combined might of our world's militaries with whatever they have. Somehow, in a way that I haven't figured out yet, Mina is beaten and actually *dies* this time, but mortally wounds Star in the process and as that last of Mewni's indigenous inhabitants are wiped out by humanity's sheer firepower, Mina informs Star that she had planned all of this-even her own death-for the sake of both completing her mission and exacting revenge on the rest of Mewni for failing her, in the case of her former soldiers, or getting in her way, in the case of literally everyone else. Mina's final words are to remind Star that SHE CAUSED ALL OF THIS, and after realizing that Mina was right, and that her friends and family were all DEAD because of her own selfish desires, Star dies in utter despair, and humanity reclaims the world.
I can't wait until some scientist writes a report on how everyone's going to die because of the atmosphere or how Mewmans are poisoned by steel fumes or whatnot.
@@christopherbravo1813 even THIS would have been better than the ending we got. it would have been horrible (just as a finale for the show, it's a great idea), but at least it would have made me feel amusement or any emotion at all.
I'll just pretend the show ended with season 3 And can we talk about that monster arm, which never came back? "You can't get ride of the virus" and stuff? They just forgot about?
I feel like they got season 5 taken away halfway through this season, and needed to end it fast. Either way there could be another season eventually or a spinoff.
@@John-uw2je it's been confirmed by the series creator in an AMA that she always knew throughout this season that 4 would be the final one, they still decided to write things this way. They intentionally included a fuckload of filler and shipping drama/nonsense instead of focusing on wrapping things up.
(sigh) I don't know. There are a lot of SVTFOE things I wish were not forgotten, but that is one exception that I *want* to forget about. January 23, 2020, 9:00pm
Dana said in ama Reddit she said they true to write the monster arm return episode where it came back and took over Marco causing him to be evil and star would have to face him but she said it didn’t feel right however I agree to disagree they could introduce it in season 2 like replace Nasaya and page turn with monster arm return and it could be a 2 part special event but she said she hopes to make it someday saying it still emerge with marco
The plot point I’m probably most annoyed about them never bringing up again was the fact that Globgor ate Shastacan and Eclipsa said ‘The truth is a little more complex than that’ WHAT DID SHE MEAN?????
The show refused to elaborate, but I believe the reason he ate Shastacan is tied with the king getting rid of Meteora. If they locked Eclipsa away as well, then his motivation is the loss of his family. Tl:dr Taking his wife and daughter away probably sent him on a rampage. Leading to him destroying their village and eating Shastacan.
This, is the "perfect ending" that Daron Nefcy said literally EVERY SINGLE VIEWER would love. This. I can't express my disappointment enough. Looking forward for the Clods discussion that (i believe it was Harland that mentioned on his review? Or maybe Zamber? I don't know) is coming. All my favorite reactors on the same video? Hell yeah! Also that ending got me on the floor. No joke lmao
Sigma Z Blade I respect Daron Nefcy, but it’s kind of funny how the ending that most viewers were supposed to love ended up being the ending that most viewers hated. That’s a pretty big oopsie that isn’t that easy to make.
Welp... Now that this is over, we can move on. They ruined it over time, but with how they wrote this it seemed they left some things over for another season or movie... The stab,- Ludo,- the fact the worlds were all cleaved, and the non hour-long ending. In a perfect world we get a revival last season that can fix some things. But it won't happen. R.I.P. Raptor Man & plot points. -I mean the stab might've been an injection of dark magic, what Toffee is-
I hate how Tom being corrupt was such a big plot point, but they immediately gloss over it and fix it real quickly. It would’ve been cool if the pudding didn’t work to fix Tom and I was actually hoping for a big situation to happen, with star and Marco having to fight Tom. But one pudding makes him not corrupt anymore and that was such a disappointment to me since the only thing I was excited about the finale was Tom being corrupt. But it was fixed so quickly...
Yeah, that would've been a nice plotline tbh. Tom being corrupted, Marco being stabbed and Star realising she doesn't just want to throw everything under a bus for only Marco and him only, but that she cares about all of her friends.
@@smart.but.stupid exactly! Not to mention the totally glossed over fact of there being a corrupted horse in Jannas hat. What even was the point of that if nothing came out of it?
@@shadow_spite7121 ah, there were A LOT of abandoned plot points at this moment. Like the freaking important one in which Marco realizes humans and mewmans come from one place or whatever, but you know, they just. Forgot to talk about that.
You know what'd be hilarious? If the series just ended with the portals exploding. Eh, even THAT would have been a better ending than the fused worlds.
Honestly here’s my take on the finale. Yes it was rushed. Yes it was mediocre. Yes it was anticlimactic. But you know what? I don’t care. I still will hold a special place in my heart for this show, because if nothing else, Star herself was just a ray of sunshine. She was in my opinion an extremely enjoyable character to watch, and I’ve been rooting for her all the way. I’m not exactly sad the show is over or anything, but I’m sad that our time with Star herself is over. She has an infectious charm to her that’s hard to describe, and I’m going to miss her. Say what you want about the finale, or even this final season (my personal guess is the original plan was 5-6 seasons but something screwed up to where Disney pulled the plug, leaving the crew to panic but idk). But you cannot deny the infectious character that was Star Butterfly. Sleep well, former princess. Oh, and Pony Head is the worst character in the entire show. Fight me.
-I disagree about the last sentence because I really like Pony Head- but the rest of this comment is spot-on! Honestly when I think about western-magical girl characters as a whole, Star and everything to her design, different outfits, and personality helps her go down as an iconic example of one this decade. And that holds true in spite of some of S4's baggage. one can tell Nefcy's been designing her for a really long time.
I think we all loved Star, but many, maaany of us simply got disappointed in her because of how her character went downhill. She was enjoyable and cute and funny, but that was only when she was written that way.
When Blue starts talking about how he doesn't even feel sad, you can just _hear_ the emptiness in his voice This show went to shit so quickly that Blue just lost part of his soul
Nah, they loved each other for almost a full year (summer break to summer break), they just didn’t address or explore it in all that time. Still, I can’t believe the writers would think smashing two dimensions together to maintain a teenage romance is a sweet ending. No no, let’s disrupt and endanger billions, in order to give fangirls their ship.
And there it goes a show that once was one of the best of its times. With an underwhelming finale and a generally disappointing last season. Anyway, your ending was pure beauty.
Honestly glad Ludo and Toffee weren't here. There was so much other junk crammed into this I'm afraid of what would've happened if they DID cram them in......we saw what they did to Moon....
Honestly, this was such a disappointment. It’s sad how the show went on a downward spiral, unlike Steven Universe, which I personally thought got better as it went on.
I agree, even though the Chang My Mind from SU was rushed, it was still good, and actually did an amazing job wrapping up everything. And it wasn't even a series finale!!
I don't think I have enough time to clarify all, but maybe I'll edit this later: Star, Moon and Eclipsa are mass murderers: all the spells are dead anyway, the laser puppies are dead, all the little unicorns are dead, etc. The show doesn't even know what magic is. Creatures still have some magic: ponyheads, dragoncicles, etc. And mewmans are defensless. This doesn't mean peace, it asks for another war where racist monsters (Seth is still alive) can destroy mewmans and humans. Star made a decision for every living thing in the multiverse, instead of listening to Eclipsa and Moon to work together, not to mention that it seems only Earth and Mewni fused, so the rest of universes are sealed. In addition, she released all the criminals from Rombulus's cristals Star said it herself: she is a terrible person. She is like Rick from Rick and Morty
Love how you’re wearing a suit because you’re at the equivalent of a funeral of the amount of characters that died in the last few episodes via character assassination 😃.
Rip SVTFOE. I could have been great but it instead threw itself into the endless void of disappointment. Not even Raptor God Man made a reappearance... *F for Raptor God Man.*
Ok hear me out.... I know I'm not a writer but I think the ending would have been more deserved with one episode idea and a little sequence changing where there is a fight with the army (instead of everyone just standing) -Ludo can come in with his army and start defending the monsters (being seen as a true hero and showing his strength of survival since he couldn't really fight back and he could instead help Others to survive) story arc done-ish -Moon can see some of the horrible acts and how they are clearly outmatched bc of magic (mirroring star in mewnipendance day) and seeing how her actions had CONSEQUENCES (she could see buff frog being separated from his kids (adding suspense and earning the happy ending) also moon also she could have a thought like "this is what my mother wanted to avoid" and have racism story arc done. Also it can go towards why she agrees magi should be gone. -with the battle being. Clearly one sided we could have a scene with heckapoo and the commission (before she split) commenting on how the monsters don't even have a chance and the others laughing at her for caring (hence her change o heart on magic and making her "I saw it as more of a bad thing" more warranted) -(MAYBE) have a scene where star is looking over everything and (bare with me) gets visited by toffees ghost who talks to her about the evils of magic. THEN have moon confront Mina with eclipsa and have heckapoo do her portal thing starting the episode at the tavern Please tell me what you think. I really value other opinions.. (also totally posting a more thought out episode concept somewhere)
Toffee would’ve been perfect for this but he never showed up so that was harsh. Globgor was supposed to be really important but he barely had anything to do with it. Lutto’s 4 seconds was actually messed up because he was the first antagonist we saw. The episode was kinda rushed and at the ending we barely got to see what happened to everyone else and who died like renaldo or heckapoo(idk if I spelt those right). I’m a new viewer of the series but I’ve seen all the episodes and I kinda see your point of view
At least now, after this mega disappointment, you can look forward to the very not-disappointing show that is Ducktales. And boy, have the recent episodes been GREAT.
In all honesty, the ending to your reaction was far more sad than the show's actual ending. It's hard saying goodbye to something we loved, even if it feels like we said goodbye a long time ago. It's hard thinking that not only are we losing a show that was once so great, but also your snarky yet so comedic comments while watching what it became. So, for the umpteenth time, I want to thank you for your reactions. That might not sound as heartfelt as it truly is, but it's mainly because text can only show so much. Also because I happen to feel pretty grateful a lot.. and I'm not too great at hiding it. The path that the show chose really sucks, but the fact that you saw that and still managed to continue to be hilarious and entertaining is far more important than some downplayed finale. I know I'm not the only one when I say that your reactions have kept things far more exciting to look forward to and watch. So, for my final comment on your SVTFOE reactions, I want to say thank you. (Again.)
I think I would be okay with the ending actually if they didn't ship tease Starco through the entire show time. If you had them just get together then this whole "their love for each other is strong enough to connect universes" might've worked.
You know, I had a realization. Other recent finales with Adventure Time, My Little Pony, and Regular Show ended with a look into the future, showing where both main and side characters are, how the world has changed, giving a sense of a satisfying closure to everything and everyone. Star Vs ends with...Star and Marco looking at each other. No other characters, no glimpse into what’s going on after * uprooting literally the entire foundation of the universe*, hell it’s not even a conclusion to their relationship. The writers expected the audience to believe that seeing Star and Marco be happy for a few seconds is a satisfying conclusion. (In some ways it even fails at concluding their relationship because there’s nothing saying that they won’t realize how much they’ve fucked up each other’s lives and break it off. News flash, Starco shippers- abandoning your friends and family forever to run away with your high school boyfriend isn’t a healthy relationship.) Anyways, the closing shots of SVTFOE really goes to show where the writers’ priorities were. They expected the audience to be happy with Star and Marco and nothing else.
Honestly, this ending gave the vibes of a simple season finale instead of a series finale. So much stuff unanswered, so much potential for a 5th season
Things that served no purpose in this episode and would not have changed anything by being left out: - Tom (Marco could have done it all without him) - Marco getting stabbed (affected nothing and then disappeared) - Janna (Marco could have just karate chopped his way out and run away)
Disney: This is the happy ending, because Marco and Star can finally be together. Me: All I see is two teens killing off dimensions and creatures and causing massive panic by cleving together their own dimensions so that they can be together :/ Disney: ... AWW STARCO IS SO CUTE!
FNAF 1 Freddy: well, we got a song for those two idiots *starts singing the song played in Helluva Boss season one episode seven with Fizzerolli and Blitzo joining in, roasting Star and Marco and calling them out for their decision*
Okay, this is my 4th time typing this out, so instead of writhing a redundant 10 paragraph essay on every little issue and completely re-writing the episode, here's just a TL;DR of all of that...which is still probably gonna end up being 10 paragraphs, knowing me...ugh... This episode was far too short, brought up 100s of questions without answering one, mistreated just about every good character in the show (but at least Pony Head's okay...and can fly...somehow!), and presented committing mass genocide of all magic creatures (byebye, Spider-With-a-Tophat) and the destruction of Mewman society followed immediately by merging it with an entirely different one which can only further tension between the different species...AS THE RESOLUTION OF THE ENTIRE SHOW! There were SO many conflicts left unsolved, including some that were never even mentioned by name in the show (cough cough Seth cough cough), yet the closest to a solution we got was, in itself, a bigger problem. I'D LIKE TO REPEAT FOR EMPHASIS, *ALL MAGIC BEINGS ARE DEAD, INCLUDING THE SPELLS THAT HAD MULTIPLE EPISODES DEDICATED TO THEM IN WHICH THEY WERE SHOWN TO BE SENTIENT BEINGS WITH FAMILIES AND THE FIRSTBORN THAT STAR BROUGHT INTO THE WORLD IN THE FIRST PLACE, GOING AS FAR AS TO REFER TO THE FIRSTBORN AS HER DAUGHTER!!!* Oh, ya, and I didn't even mention how fucked Monster, Mewman, and now HUMAN relations are going to be, on top of how just about every other dimension is screwed without magic considering how reliant their societies were on it (for example, when Star's phone stopped working once magic started acting up). But, hey, at least the teenagers get to date now...because that's why we all stuck with this show...
I hate how they were going well with Marco and Kelly, and Star and Tom, but then they throw that all out of the window and rush the finale. Also, compared to the other ships, Starco just seems kinda cringey
I like how they go against what they established was certain fate, and said certain fate was established exactly the episode before this one, just to keep the starco ship.
Do you know what the sad thing is..? The magic didn’t even do anything to cause anything. It just existed and Star was just like “nope, you need to be destroyed.” It was never the Magic’s fault,it was the people who used it for selfish or terrible reasons. GOD I HATE FINALE AND THE SHOW’S TERRIBLE WRITING CHOICES-
11:30 "this is gonna cause mass panic to the entire planet" yep, besides multidimensional murder that's another huge problem that the show plays off like "oh, is gonna be fine." *what a wonderful finale*
I was the same as you when the episode ended and then I was "WHAT THE F*** DID YOU JUST DID?! YOU RUINED A WHOLE SERIES!" and then I sat in dissapointment hearing sad songs to acompany my mood and ranted with a friend, we both agreed that this was a disaster.... I accompany you in your sorrow Blue
Go to wattpad.com and search for “svtfoe when two worlds collide”. It’s a really well made Season 5 fanfic that takes place immediately after where the show’s finale left off! It’s currently 31 chapters long (It updates with a new chapter and new illustrations every few weeks), and I was honestly surprised Daron didn’t do it herself! It’s absolutely insane how in-character the dialogue is and how true to the show it is. Even the illustrations for some chapters literally look like future screenshots of the show!
What they _really_ messed up was having Mina as the final villain instead of someone better like Toffee, and they didn’t even do that right either 😒 For shame, Disney
Thank you for actually acknowledging all the flaws with the show instead of just drooling over starco like a lot of people it’s actually really refreshing
Oh hey Toffee, glad to see you here for the Finale! ... Mina: Save me Solaria! Solaria: you mean by attacking My Family? The unicorn is your problem. My family needs me. Me: Daaaaamn!! .... Marco Stabbed like Ursala from the Little Mermaid. Did it make any difference?... No. Story would've been better if Marco got stuck in realm of Magic and Tom got out. That way Tom could get stabbed and I'd actually feel worry about his health and chance of living, since his character arc actually completed. .... -Magic High Commision is Dead- Ludo: ThAtS wHaT yOu GeT! .... So is Mewni now apart of Marcos town/state or the whole USA/World? Cause if it's the whole USA/World, then I'm sorry but those Monsters and Mewmans are gonna get DECIMATED by the current status and leaders in this world right now. After Ever After: SVTFOE edition. ... What a fall from grace. Seasons 1-3 were by far my favorites of the show and felt like there was a plan, but season 4 just felt like a fanfic. In practically every way possible. Not even a good one at that. The wonder and charm of the show in season 1, Toffee through all of season 1, 2 and the beggining of 3, and then the mystery of Eclipsa for season 3. But then something happened, and I don't know what, that caused everything to just crash and burn. And then there's Starco. I honestly don't care for ships at all in any show. I can humor or look at the ones that exist and give opinions on ones I like, don't like or which ones I could actually see happen. But from day One, when Star and Marco got introduced and the show felt like it wasn't gonna follow classic Disney formula, I did not want to see these two end up together. And as the show progressed, I truly believed their relationship would be more powerful and leave an impact if they were true to the end Platonic Friends that could be by eachothers sides no matter what. You see romantic relationships all the time but sometimes... you just need strong role models for Friendship that stand apart from others. Honestly the best I could think of is Natasha and Clint from the MCU. But as Star continued, and the more they teased Starco, the more upset I got. To the point that by season 4, I down right hated the ship out of spite. Not just for how it was harming the Story, but also cause anywhere I went, it's supporters would only seem to care about the ship and nothing else. Other characters in the way of Starco? Detestable. Blindness to a failing plot trying to rush everything cause you want that Starco kiss? The kiss won out. -sigh- this season was forgettable. And rather then continue rambling, I'll stop here. Thanks for reacting to the show, Blue. Steven and Star helped me really get into your channel and I'll stand by yah til the bitter end. See you in the next one.
Okay. Finished the series in a couple of days. I can’t say it was my favorite show, but I still loved it while it lasted. Of course I did like the first seasons better than the fourth. I feel like the writers had a lot more plans for this, and might’ve been cut out of a fifth season. This show definitely gave me some amazing memories, and even if it was rushed at points, we have to all admit, it was amazing at others. Maybe this ending wasn’t the best, but I can still appreciate the memories made along the way. Like Eclipsa and Kelly and Raptor God Man. (Kelly deserved better)
@@adampkalb Well the funny part is I actually remade it with better writing, but the reason I compared it is because I was a no thoughts head empty child who didn’t know what consistency is lol

Remember kids if you want someone to love you just follow these three simple steps: *Get cursed by the Moon *Commit mass murder *Screw up the Earth And you too will fall in love with someone that roughly "looks" around your age (but is actually twice as old as you).
That ending......was unacceptable. “Hey so yeah earth world and mewni have clashed together, aaaaannnd now earth has to deal with it whatevs no big deal, but hey at least EvErYbOdY’s FaVoRiTe ShIp Is TogThEr”. Like what?
And yeah, remember when we put extra attention on the fact that Marco got stabbed by a dark unicorn? Yeah SIKE ha ha ha......yeeaaaah we didn’t have enough time to do anything with that so just pretend it didn’t happen......ahhh we’re such great writers
Oh god, that pan up and hopeful, cute music at the end. They really thought they did something profound by ending it with them looking into each other's eyes. I feel SICK
I know it’s been over a year since this happened, but I wanna just post this here. So I recently finished watching this show (the reason it took so long was because my parents switched cable providers to one that didn’t have the Disney channel about half way through season two), and I just wanted to share my opinion over each season. Season one - 4.5/5: The begging. Of course, it was the first season of a show like this, so of course it wasn’t perfect, but it was still memorable and focused on story early on. Season two - 4.5/5: Mostly the same as season one. I just didn’t like how the blood moon continuously prevented any other relationships from forming. And trust me, I’m not a shipper, but still they were very clearly literally forcing Starco into existence, and that’s not okay. Battle for Mewni - 4/5: A very good movie, but somehow, despite being nearly nine times the length of a normal episode, felt really rushed at times. Not all the time, but still a lot. Season three - 3.5/5: Not as bad as people said it would be. I think that I liked it largely due to the gap between seasons two and three were for me, but I just really don’t mind how this was done. It wasn’t that they switched from a overall story to a seasonal story, but that they switched from one continuous story to a sort of Rube Goldberg story where each plotline ending makes another one begins, as opposed to each event being part of a story. I really feel like they just switched from one big story across smaller episodes to a few smaller stories across multiple small episodes that weren’t _necessary_ related to each other. Season four - 2.5/5: Again, not as bad as anticipated. Largely the same as above, but down a point for rushing the last few episodes. Overall - 4/5: A very good show overall, just a bit rushed and a very bumpy transition from connected storytelling to episode-based story telling.
I agree with everything you've said but I'd rate each season a little bit different. Season one: 4/5 sometimes 4.5/5 Season two: 4/5 sometimes 5/5 Season three: 3/5 sometimes 3.5/5 Season four: 2/5 sometimes 3/5
Ever since I finished the show, I keep thinking back on how the show wasn’t bad, but they definitely could have done better. Like how the finale could have been at least a little better if, for example, Marco would’ve said something about how the blood moon didn’t make him love Star, and that it only made him realize that he already did love her, instead of shoving in a “_It wAs AlL FAkE ThE WhoLE tIMe!1!_” I mean, it still wouldn’t have been _good_, but it would’ve been better.
@@username5155 They could have not done the whole blood moon curse at all or it could have been done then the next episode Tom tells Marco and Star about the curse and they go to hell to undo the curse, this would have been better than waiting and completely forgetting about the curse until the last ten episodes of the show in season four.
@@exshelgames9843 Yeah like I said in my summary I really hated the blood moon, but I was just saying that they could’ve done better with what they had. Like in the final few episodes it was obvious that Starco was going to happen, but they could’ve done it better with what they already had. I mean there was an entire episode about how Toms’s grandparents meeting at the blood moon ball and how his grandpa chose to break the curse and they still ended up together, and yet the still went with “ThE BLoOd mOoN WAs fAKE THe wHoLE TimE!1!!1!11!1!!1!”
Same, I felt empty after finishing this show and I couldn't talk to anyone about it cause no one's seen it and the fandom is pretty much dead cause the writers killed through season three and four
Sad to see a ending that bad like they could bring toffee back to ask how to destroy the magic, "but how they could bring he back" TOM ALREADY BRING THE DEAD ONE EPISODE HOLY SHIT, SO THERE IS A MOTIVE TO FIND TOM
Yknow. I kinda procrastinated the entirety of season 4. But seeing everyone’s reactions on social media? Hearing about the awful writing? And watching the finale?? Im kinda glad I didn’t watch the season. Cuz wow. What a shit show. Its a shame. This had amazing potential, and it was one of my favorite shows.
This finale made me realized how wrong I was about steven universe future finale being rushed. To some credit, at least SUF did gave closure to most characters (emphasis to most, because jasper didn't get a proper one). This one however, not only it felt empty, but wrong as well. Judging from the comments, I realized this finale reminded me of GOT series finale and star wars ep 8, that being rushed, incomplete, but importantly, made with either hate or lack of knowledge on how to set up finales. Even if I'm not in this fandom, I felt bad for those who enjoyed. Starco as a whole is a good ship until the finale where it shows its, I guess true colors? This is what happens when you priotitize shipping over storytelling. To me, Starco is now the same degree as Reylo as one of the most absurd shipping in disney.
I think a Tofee quote sums up the final season of Star Vs. pretty well. "You're a disappointment" What was such a great show has fallen to levels of just being o.k. Felled by issues with writing and pacing that could've easily been fixed. Edit: Do you know what plans you have regarding reactions, now that Star Vs. The Forces of Disappointment is now over.
My 1 year late opinion ( sorry ) Season 1: 7/10 Season 2: 9/10 Season 3: 6/10 Season 4: 3/10 Overall: 25/40 ( in my opinion, way more than it deserves) BTW THIS IS MY OPINION NOT YOURS MINE
Whelp. That was something. I did like the part with all the queens around while they did the whispering spell, that was cool, eerie but cool. I didn't hate the finale, but I have to admit I was a little disappointed by its conclusion. Not gonna lie, as much as I was mad at Rhombulus and what they did to his character. My heart broke a little seeing his lifeless Crystal head just sitting there. Man that was kinda depressing. As much as I was upset at that I was still hoping for a sort of redemption arc for all the MHC. Feels like that little friendship Star had with Rhombulus way back then was for nothing tbh. Whelp onward to draw more fan ideas I did of him having a chaotic and grieving crystal king for a dad XDD and poor Glossaryek having to deal with telling him hes adopted. Also ya boy Ludo! I was wondering where the heck he was, and yeah it was nice seeing him shoot hoops with his bro but come on he was such a big part of the series ya know? I've always had mixed feelings on Glossaryek, but in the end my heart broke too knowing he was going to be gone, and that he knew it was coming. Still sad. And still no raptor god man...sad day indeed, he was such an interesting character. Such a shame.. But that's just a small portion of my thoughts on the whole finale thing. Seeing all the amazing fanart people did first ya makes me wanna do some too! ^^ welp see ya guys next time I comment mabye it won't be as long XD but yeah.. Stay Awesome Blue Order! ;D
Cross your fingers for Ducktails, they're setting up a whole lot right now, and everyone (myself included) love it. Let's hope they can handle it better than star did
9:30 Why am I imagining an entire spin off series where the snake hands travel around Earthni finding some secret stuff while doing so- Welp, fan fiction time XD
Honestly this just felt like a Steven Universe ending. They tied up some loose ends, but left others. Just in case, I guess? Renewal? Comics? A Vol 2 for the universe's encyclopedia thing? At least Ludo got to give a scary speech in an earlier episode this season.
*_Can't wait to see all the miffed people yell at me how "I'm just salty because my 'ship' didn't happen or because 'Toffee didn't come back'"_*
Bro you have every right bro
This show was going down
I like how they give the series finale the length of a normal episode set.
Blue: Dead Inside
Starco Shippers: Uncultured Screaming
Everyone else: No Emotion
I don't blame you this last season was ass.
I think both SVTFOE and Voltron teaches a valuable lesson:
Don’t make up a plot as you go along. Because it may start out good, but it goes to shit halfway though.
See, this is why I’m planning out the entirety of the book series I’m writing even before I write the first book. Also, Blue Order, don’t watch Voltron. It broke my heart; it will break yours.

Gravity Falls had only 2 seasons and covered more story than the four seasons star has.
Also when it comes tor run times I don’t think they have control, that doesn’t mean they get an excuse though.
the first two seasons of Star covered more story than the entire show
@shaquille mccray i'm pretty sure it DID end with the Battle of Mewni. XD
I don't even get why the team having no control is a so-called "viable excuse" because the team knew that Disney won't allow more than four seasons LONG before they are making the later seasons.
“Less is more.”
They are mutual simps
"morco" lmao
it was an impulsive decision. thats what people dont get about this show, all these characters are very human and make very flawed human decisions. these characters are not perfectly sane thinkers 100% of the time because no person is. that's why moon fell victim to Minas convincing, thats why the MHC can't see that eclipsa might not be that bad. people aren't perfect. some are easily influenced. some are stuck in their ways. some are impulsive. thats the right way to write a character
Seeing outside blue's bedroom was more exiting than this episode

@Schornforce unlike Star did
Yeah
This was a horrible finale. Star randomly has a temper tantrum and decides to murder magic, comitting mass magical genocide and laughs at the deaths. She also causes all dimensions to merge essentially creating a permanent Weirdmaggedon that clearly requires the creation of an scp foundation organization. She doesn 't even solve her main problem, or kill her main target. AND THE SHOW TREATS THIS AS A HAPPY ENDING. Plus, we didn't even get a full season of starco.

-Toffee connection with Eclipsa
- Marco connnection with Toffee
-Marco becoming evil
-Marco connection with Celena
-Celena's secrets in general
-possible connection between Jushtin and Festivia
- the return of monster arm
- When did Toffee and Glossarick meet
- Seth entire character and his connection with Toffee
- why is Toffee is called Toffee and what would be his real name
The only question that was answered was the importance of the cards symbols
Will never happen because THEY ONLY THINK ABOUT THE STARCO SHIT AND THE MOST IMPORTANT *BAD WRITERS*
we kinda saw marco having two sides when he was loosing his memories in the magic realm (when he was in the car with tom star and janna)
Most peaceful monsters reviled and feared him as even Globgor, called
him troublesome and despicable.
Also Celena's importance.
"Toffee conection with Eclipsa"
Rewatch Moon the Undaunted-s3 e1b
Am I the only one who thinks she really didn’t have to get rid of the magic?
No, many people think that as a resolution it kinda came out of nowhere and it probably wasn't the best (and especially not the only) solution at all.
I didn't see it coming at all, personally
I mean, the _best_ way to avoid this mess entirely would have been for the writers to understand that Moon was terribly out-of-character by being the cause of all this, and that ruining her character and the pacing of the show just to set this stuff up was a poor writing decision, but hey, we all kind of knew this was coming.
No and it was awful that she did
I think what really sells home the “true focus” of the show is the last shot it ends on.
A ship of two characters shouldn’t be the focus of an entire series, especially one that actually had a story to tell.
a ship should only be the focus if youre doing a romance story, and even then you at least need more than two characters
The lesson for today is that a storyteller should never give what the audience wanted, just write to make the audience happy.
It would have been fine if the relationship was foreshadowed and had built up throughout the show, but I guess that wasnn't the case.
Wouldn't really say a supposed decline.
HellfireComms Change Your Mind isn’t as bad as everyone makes it out to be. I feel like everything happened just as it should have.
Steven universe future kinda fixed things
Kye Dysarthria thats why he put ‘decline’ in quotation marks, meaning he doesn’t agree that it was a decline.
Steven Universe never really declined for me personally. It always got better as it went on. SVTFOE, on the otherhand, started declining after Battle of Mewni and in season 4 in particular, before going down really fast in the last episodes and crashing at the end.

Destroying magic didn't really do anything though. It doesn't matter how much power you take away from the world, someone will always have more power than other people.
If anything it hurt more people than it helped. Several ponies and magic beings just straight up died, and the combining of dimensions will lead to a lot of problems.
I feel like it wouldn't have been as rushed if the show was given at least one more season to space all of these events out.
I think they could have done with one less season, and wrap things up in season 3. Dump a lot of what happened in S4, wrap up Starco shortly after the photo booth kiss, and end with Eclipsa getting Meteora back, with Star and Moon rebuilding a more inclusive kingdom.
Yeah I dont know how to feel about this combined worlds smh
An entire new season would have been a bit much. They could have done enough with a half season more or do half a season less and had less going on.
Yeah ima be honest I think season 3 should been the end of the series
@@umuniqueeealforddd4427 Yeah, honestly I agree
Can’t wait for the graphic novel which takes place after the apocalypse that occurred after dimensions were merged. People would panic, nobody would know what’s going on, and people would resort to violence.
i actually had something similar in mind. except worse. a *lot* worse.
@@christopherbravo1813 I know it's been about 5 months since you wrote this comment but, if you still remember that idea I would love to hear it
@@JellyFishGell basically after the merger happens, humanity as whole collectively begins to panic.
I'll just pretend the show ended with season 3
And can we talk about that monster arm, which never came back?
The plot point I’m probably most annoyed about them never bringing up again was the fact that Globgor ate Shastacan and Eclipsa said ‘The truth is a little more complex than that’
WHAT DID SHE MEAN?????
The show refused to elaborate, but I believe the reason he ate Shastacan is tied with the king getting rid of Meteora. If they locked Eclipsa away as well, then his motivation is the loss of his family.
Tl:dr
Taking his wife and daughter away probably sent him on a rampage.
Well, she wanted another season but...she didn't get it.
I never watched the show and even I'm dissapointed. I should feel neutral, not like a show failed me.
She's an idiot.
Sigma Z Blade I respect Daron Nefcy, but it’s kind of funny how the ending that most viewers were supposed to love ended up being the ending that most viewers hated. That’s a pretty big oopsie that isn’t that easy to make.
All I’ll say before I edit this comment is:
This finale felt half assed.
The entire fourth season was half assed
Eh, it wasn’t that bad. It would’ve been good if wasn’t for the fact they didn’t complete most the arcs
Fact
It was literally half the length it should have been.
It's so sad that you can't change your mind to enjoy this show :)
And that holds true in spite of some of S4's baggage. one can tell Nefcy's been designing her for a really long time.
what impossible how dare you have a opinion in the internet
Star could be a pretty bad person, sometimes, like how she avoids problems and other stuff.
I think we all loved Star, but many, maaany of us simply got disappointed in her because of how her character went downhill. She was enjoyable and cute and funny, but that was only when she was written that way.
When Blue starts talking about how he doesn't even feel sad, you can just _hear_ the emptiness in his voice
This show went to shit so quickly that Blue just lost part of his soul
Star and Marco literally altered dimensions to keep together a relationship established *4 EPISODES AGO*, like....what?
Nah, they loved each other for almost a full year (summer break to summer break), they just didn’t address or explore it in all that time. Still, I can’t believe the writers would think smashing two dimensions together to maintain a teenage romance is a sweet ending. No no, let’s disrupt and endanger billions, in order to give fangirls their ship.
Technically established one day ago.
Wow, what a surface-level way to look at things.
Gagging
Uh actually.... All dimensions were cleaved together so...... Everyone is mad
And there it goes a show that once was one of the best of its times.
With an underwhelming finale and a generally disappointing last season.
Anyway, your ending was pure beauty.
Inazuma Sensei I feel like this could describe both SvTFoE and GoT to a tee.
Honestly glad Ludo and Toffee weren't here. There was so much other junk crammed into this I'm afraid of what would've happened if they DID cram them in......we saw what they did to Moon....
“So much for safe kid.” You do not know how much that hurt my soul, this show really changed man, and for the worse
It's all over...
*But we can remember Reynaldo in our hearts*

Poor, he didn't know what was happening and he never really get the acceptation of his daddy Glossy
Who's Reynaldo?

Honestly, this was such a disappointment. It’s sad how the show went on a downward spiral, unlike Steven Universe, which I personally thought got better as it went on.
While I disagree on your opinion on star, I very much think Steven universe was far better written
I always feel like Steven Universe was stagnant after season 1
SU went downhill for a period in Season 4 but made a comeback in the second half of Season 5.
I agree, even though the Chang My Mind from SU was rushed, it was still good, and actually did an amazing job wrapping up everything. And it wasn't even a series finale!!
let's all not forget the most well done finale in western animation history: Adventure Time
I don't think I have enough time to clarify all, but maybe I'll edit this later:
Star, Moon and Eclipsa are mass murderers: all the spells are dead anyway, the laser puppies are dead, all the little unicorns are dead, etc.
In addition, she released all the criminals from Rombulus's cristals
Star said it herself: she is a terrible person. She is like Rick from Rick and Morty
Thank you!
"She is like Rick" Well, he has Doop Doop, so... 😂
Love how you’re wearing a suit because you’re at the equivalent of a funeral of the amount of characters that died in the last few episodes via character assassination 😃.

Ok hear me out....
I know I'm not a writer but I think the ending would have been more deserved with one episode idea and a little sequence changing where there is a fight with the army (instead of everyone just standing)
-Ludo can come in with his army and start defending the monsters (being seen as a true hero and showing his strength of survival since he couldn't really fight back and he could instead help
Others to survive) story arc done-ish
-Moon can see some of the horrible acts and how they are clearly outmatched bc of magic (mirroring star in mewnipendance day) and seeing how her actions had CONSEQUENCES (she could see buff frog being separated from his kids (adding suspense and earning the happy ending) also moon also she could have a thought like "this is what my mother wanted to avoid" and have racism story arc done. Also it can go towards why she agrees magi should be gone.
-with the battle being. Clearly one sided we could have a scene with heckapoo and the commission (before she split) commenting on how the monsters don't even have a chance and the others laughing at her for caring (hence her change o heart on magic and making her "I saw it as more of a bad thing" more warranted)
-(MAYBE) have a scene where star is looking over everything and (bare with me) gets visited by toffees ghost who talks to her about the evils of magic.
THEN have moon confront Mina with eclipsa and have heckapoo do her portal thing starting the episode at the tavern
Please tell me what you think. I really value other opinions.. (also totally posting a more thought out episode concept somewhere)
I love that idea, that's awesome!
No One:...
Absolutely No One:...
LITERALLY NO ONE:...
Darron: Raptor God won't come back
Blue Order: THIS IS THE WORST SHOW EVER!!!
A few people have pointed out that the whispering spell was different here than it was in the S1 finale. They really did just ignore everything.
At least now, after this mega disappointment, you can look forward to the very not-disappointing show that is Ducktales. And boy, have the recent episodes been GREAT.
The biggest out of nowhere surprise of this finale was Blue going outside.
(Again.)
Agree with everything above, you go Blue!
News flash, Starco shippers- abandoning your friends and family forever to run away with your high school boyfriend isn’t a healthy relationship.)
Anyways, the closing shots of SVTFOE really goes to show where the writers’ priorities were. They expected the audience to be happy with Star and Marco and nothing else.
Honestly, this ending gave the vibes of a simple season finale instead of a series finale. So much stuff unanswered, so much potential for a 5th season
You don't understand the level of unbelievable disappointment I am experiencing right now
Things that served no purpose in this episode and would not have changed anything by being left out:
- Tom (Marco could have done it all without him)
- Marco getting stabbed (affected nothing and then disappeared)
- Janna (Marco could have just karate chopped his way out and run away)
At least it's over now? Yay?
This finale was shit.
BFM is the finale then I guess?
Definitely
So glad that there are so many haters :)
At least I can see things in a different angle and enjoy everything about this show ^^
Disney: This is the happy ending, because Marco and Star can finally be together.
Me: All I see is two teens killing off dimensions and creatures and causing massive panic by cleving together their own dimensions so that they can be together :/
Disney: ...
It just existed and Star was just like “nope, you need to be destroyed.”
It was never the Magic’s fault,it was the people who used it for selfish or terrible reasons. GOD I HATE FINALE AND THE SHOW’S TERRIBLE WRITING CHOICES-
last time that I was this early toffee was still out here

you must have been VERY early
11:30 "this is gonna cause mass panic to the entire planet" yep, besides multidimensional murder that's another huge problem that the show plays off like "oh, is gonna be fine." *what a wonderful finale*

Honestly your whole reaction at the end was a pure summarization of what the whole fandom felt
You are free now! And look at the bright side, Toffee stayed in 'good-show' part.

3 years later and it still dissapoints😔
0:33 the return we needed lol
Overall - 4/5: A very good show overall, just a bit rushed and a very bumpy transition from connected storytelling to episode-based story telling.
wow that was thought out well
I agree with everything you've said but I'd rate each season a little bit different.
Season one: 4/5 sometimes 4.5/5
Season two: 4/5 sometimes 5/5
Season three: 3/5 sometimes 3.5/5
Season four: 2/5 sometimes 3/5
When the series finale of Star is 1/5th the size of the Gravity Falls one even though it had 4 seasons to wrap up instead of 2.
If Star’s biggest fan in Starfan13, then Toffee’s biggest fan is RaptorGodFan69
that's a strange way to spell blue order.
@@sourpatchkids351 'RaptorGodFan69' is blue's alt he uses to hornypost for toffee
Watching this episode is the only time I ever wanted to punch the tv screen I was so pissed
No "aws" here. That's how bad this show has gotten. Blue isn't even sad to see them go.
Glad to know there’s someone else openly saying they’re pissed at this
I think a Tofee quote sums up the final season of Star Vs. pretty well. "You're a disappointment" What was such a great show has fallen to levels of just being o.k. Felled by issues with writing and pacing that could've easily been fixed.
Edit: Do you know what plans you have regarding reactions, now that Star Vs. The Forces of Disappointment is now over.
I'm gonna be watching through OK KO and Ducktales while I work on the giant review video. :)
My 1 year late opinion ( sorry )
Season 1: 7/10
Season 2: 9/10
Season 3: 6/10
Season 4: 3/10
Overall: 25/40 ( in my opinion, way more than it deserves)

Stay Awesome Blue Order! ;D
You post your art anywhere?
@@juliusroman8616 Oh yeah I have an Instagram I post mostly on, although not as frequent due to work and such ^^" It"s the same username as my YT!
Cross your fingers for Ducktails, they're setting up a whole lot right now, and everyone (myself included) love it. Let's hope they can handle it better than star did

Why am I imagining an entire spin off series where the snake hands travel around Earthni finding some secret stuff while doing so-
Welp, fan fiction time XD
Honestly this just felt like a Steven Universe ending. They tied up some loose ends, but left others. Just in case, I guess? Renewal? Comics? A Vol 2 for the universe's encyclopedia thing? At least Ludo got to give a scary speech in an earlier episode this season.
