It's not that it was bad. It's just that it didn't feel like a finale at all. If we could have something that could tie all the loose ends, it wouldn't be bad.
Lulystalgia Nature it honestly felt more like a season finale because of all the cliff hangers . I honestly really like that there’s still some ppl who enjoyed it though instead of most who hated it. I also have mixed feelings but I mean hey at least I was able to watch this show and make many happy memories. I’m sure years down the like this show will be more nostalgic than it already is to me. From the blood moon ball and toffee’s introduction to the destruction of magic and the season finale . This show has taken me on a journey and I hope more people discover it. Anyways sorry for the long paragraph I’m in my feels rn :(
@@justapunpunpfp3982 Four seasons was more than enough to tell a story. Gravity Falls had only two, yet it managed to have a solid finale. The problem with SvtFOE was that it had way too many fillers.
I think for Marco being able to use the magic and the wand was actually insinuated in three episodes. The first being episode being where Glossaryck takes Meteora back in time, the second where they discover the well to the magic dimension from the human world, and the thrid being when we find out Festivia wasn't originally a Butterfly. We see in the first one Glossaryck creating and giving the wand to the first Mumans who are on a boat, confused, covered in magic, and in the background you can see where they build the Magic Sanctuary that leads to the magic realm. In the second one macro theorizes that the first Mumans where actually Humans based on of the cave drawing (which has Glossaryck in it) right beside the well that leads to the magic realm. We also see in the time travel episode that none of the first Mumans have cheek marks which makes sense if they were originally human, which also insinuates that the cheek marks develop after long exposure to magic (which Marco would of had being so close to star for so long) and using the wand. For the butterfly being born with check marks could simply be explained with magic being exposed for so long in the bloodline BUT with the third episode Festiva couldn't have originally been born with cheek marks as she wasn't born a butterfly meaning that she developed hers over time with exposure to magic and using the wand similar to Marco. I hope this makes sense and if you see this, i just want to say that I love watching your videos!!!
The oddest part is that it very much could've been a fulfilling finale if it had not felt so abrupt. Earth and Mewni merging just _is not_ prefaced thematically, and opens more problems and questions than answers. For a series finale, this doesn't *feel* like a resolution.
Exactly. Feels more like a season finale than a series finale. As for the worlds merging, that was foreshadowed in the episode Into the Wand, so that part was not a last minute decision.
@@ramdelure There is nothing official yet. No movie or comic, and very unlikely a season. But I guess that if the creator wants to deem a fanart as canon, I suppose it can be done. Daron seems to be a great fan of moringmark's comics after all.
3:45-I love this moment between Eclipsa, Solaria, and Meteora. You get the feeling Solaria has finally accepted who her daughter is and the choices she’s made in her life, and is happy for her daughter and granddaughter.
This needed another season, this felt like a just in case we don’t do another season kinda finale. But show was good and that’s coming from a non anime/cartoon watcher.
@@thefastrightptg5048 Its sad because they were supposed to be in the same universe. They even had a soos cameo in this show! The twins and marco are all from Cali! Ugh
@@marinadiaz1762 yeah they even referenced bill cipher where marco saw him in one of the dimensions but i guess those were just easter eggs and bunch of nothing
This show meant a lot to me, and in my eyes it had so much potential. I heavily looked forward to seeing all the various mysteries eventually be solved. Toffee's Backstory and unexplained connection to Marco and the Butterfly Family Seth, the giant overlord of the entire series and the sole reason why Solaria and Comet died. Marco's monster arm, cheek marks, and his ability to do magic + what that means in relation to the butterfly family Ludo, his whole redemption arc, and relationship with his defunct family. There was so much that could've been done, and I could name MULTIPLE points throughout Season 4 where they could've pivoted and covered most of these things. But they didn't, and instead poured so much effort into the shipping subplot that it nearly drowned out all logic or reason to the story entirely.
I mean. magic and cheek marks have nothing to do with being a butterfly. Glossarick gave the wand to the first humans on mewni and then they swapped meteora for a normal mewman child so
I get why people dislike this finale but I still think it's pretty good overall. I like the idea behind earth and mewni combining but in reality that would cause so many problems it's insane. Like both places already have a big racism problem so putting them together will only make it worse. Feels like a selfish ending for star and Marco cause it's just worse for everyone else
9:20 THAT EXACTLY WHAT AM I THINKING HAHAHA.. because mewni and earth colliding I mean that is a worldwide problem... They gotta work on another season!!
I think in an "ask me anything" on reddit with daron nefcy (the creator of svtfoe) she said that she made the ending so open and unsatisfactory to come back with something prepared if they give her permission to do a new season and also to provoke the fandom to demand a new season to disney, although at the moment nothing has been announced :(
@@alansalasesquivel715 yes but look at pgineas and ferb that got renewed for another season last i heard i would scream if we got another season!!!!!!!! i really hope in the future we get more im hopeful hopefully it would resolve the world colliding problem and id get more starco momments with them together
Actually they did explain why Marco could use the wand just not directly. You see the first Mewmens were actually just Humans that went through a portal accidentally and glosseric just picked one of them at random and gave them a wand, basically saying that anyone with human DNA could use the wand its just that Marco was the only other "Human" from earth to use it. I mean imagine if Jana got her hands on it, now that would be way more chaotic than this episode.
I really like this show but I hate this ending. This whole season feels just rushed. Too many things were ignored or unresolved. As you said merging 2 worlds together created way more problems than it resolved. But even earlier Mina beeing main villain don't feel right to me, don't bring the same emotional involvment and stakes are not as high as with previous villains. Toffee was the best but even Meteora was really good villain. Moon actions were completely out of character, and they show almost nothing that would lead Moon to this drastic actions. Star suddenly decided that she hate magic despite that nothing before give her reasons to it. And destruction of magic was not a good solution to this problem. It means destructions of all magical creatures - magical high commission - we know them, we like them, there was not cool to show us their's bodies and treated it like a joke, all spells are dead and million more creatures also, families, lovers and friends are separated - it was really the worst decision that Star could made. She wanted to prevent genocide by doing ever bigger genocide, she literally become Thanos. But hey, don't think about all of this, look Star and Marko are together! What's that? You hear people and monsters screaming with terror and running for their lives in this weird new world streight out of Bill Cipher's nightmares? Ignore it all, look, Star and Marko are together, didn't you want this?
Mina was the perfect final antagonist. The show has been building up to repairing mewman and monster relations and Mina served as an actual relic of the past who wanted to undo that, as well as literally being a person Star used to look up to and is pretty much an evil reflection of Star. Moon doesn't trust Eclipsa and doesn't really trust monsters completely either. She also despite trying to claim she was ok, was shown to very much want to be queen again and her views combining with the people coming to her upset with Eclipsa's actions easily would get her to consider overthrowing Eclipsa. The fact that Mina was already planning something just gave her an excuse to justify "holding her back". The way Star came to her decision was very rushed, can't argue with that. Destruction of magic was a good solution. It's pretty much been built up for a while that magic hurts more than it does good. The MHC were villains. No one complained about seeing Toffee's dead body. The spells aren't fully independent beings and are just constructs of Star's imagination that she can summon. No one besides the MHC and the spells were made of the magic that Star destroyed. The show made it very clear that other creatures, like Pony Head have their own natural abilities separate from magic and are completely fine with magic being destroyed. The families being separated thing might be a possibility, though they'd more likely just all be in what dimension they settled down and lived in. Also, that's not equivalent to a genocide. Also, Mina almost definitely wouldn't have stopped with Mewni. She's been shown to be interested in conquering other dimensions, like Earth, and her sword can work on people from other dimensions, so stopping her means likely stopping a huge interdimensional genocide. Star and Marco didn't choose to cleave the dimensions together, so what exactly is your point? Yeah, they're going to have to learn to live with each other, but that wasn't a decision anyone made. The show is obviously going to focus on the two main characters being together again in their last moments instead of dealing with that, which could always be shown in comics or something, like ATLA never resolved what happened to Zuko's mother.
no but same tho and i dont know why. i literally never cry when watching anything but for some reason this finale got me teared up. like i can count on one hand the number of times any form of media has done that to me. and its weird because its not like this show was sadder or more emotional than a lot of other shows i watch that didnt have me react this way. i honestly cant tell you why, it just did. maybe it was just a matter of circumstance with the headspace i had while watching. i related to the characters just wanting love and felt like it was too late for me but i can live vicariously through them, and when it seemed like they weren’t gonna be together it hit me harder than it normally would... so i guess i can explain it lol
Don Crump actually they were present through seasons 3 and 4... up to Cornonation I believe. _That explains a lot, considering how absolute stupid the show went after that point..._
Season 1 Episode 1: Star comes to earth and learns how to live there Season 4 Episode 21: Star commits genocide because it's the first thing she could think of to stop a war
@@GamerGamerGamer77777 If it was really so bad, why so many people agreed with her decision? Glossaryck and Heckapoo in particular even if they were made of magic? Why couldn't they give her another solution? Or why couldn't Star think of something else? Even if there was another solution, who knows how much damage Mina would've done unstopped in the meantime. No matter what angle we look, a genocide was in store.
Macho Marco had battle scars everywhere so I think the reason why Marco was so nonchalant about that was because he was already used to getting these types of wounds
I know tons of people realized how Ponyhead’s still around after Star destroyed the magic, let alone still being able to fly, but I kept wondering if the glitter she kept leaving around (that she no longer has now) is what powered her in terms of using magic spells from her horn, not in terms of flying. The magic part of her isn’t her entire biology, just an aspect of it. Of course I could be completely wrong, but I tried to make do with what I know.
My take with Marco using the wand is that Mewmans came from humans. Remember when Glossaryck and baby Meteora "time travelled" with Glossaryck's son in the time river. So maybe any human has potential to wield the wand.
I loved the show overall, I get easily entertaint and just like the enjoy things without worrying allot. I personally think the writers didn't now what the do with the all the plot points it introduced so there was never really a resolution they just ended it with Starco so for people that like plot heavy things it was not the best ending for a show. Also the journey watching the reactions from start to finish with you was really enjoyable and I will look forward to Infinity train and OPM.
Four seasons was a lot, but Daron put way too many fillers. She still did the series the way she wanted, but if she had focused more on the plot, it wouldn't have felt so rushed. Maybe she was trusting too much they would've given her a Season 5. Or maybe a movie.
Marco can use magic because literally anyone holding the wand can use it, even lobster claws. Also the marks are just an aspect that also comes from the wand or specifically the Butterfly family's magic because Festivia, who was born unrelated to magic, eventually became attuned to it via the wand/ its magic. If this wasnt the case then none of the descendants after her would have cheek marks, including Star.
Wow I've already watched this show but it was a while back so I only remembered a few things and I forgot that the ending was like this I cried i was very sad then I was happy cause I didn't exactly remember the world's combining. This is why I love this show
Actually, when I was watching it, I just waited for Toffe's return, and when I realized Mina is the final boss I disappointed. But if you think about it, technically Toffee won, they destroyed the magic.
@@lulystalgianature2968 Toffee needs a spin off. There's a lot of unanswered questions, and he now is technically the deepest character. Did he see the future? Did he speak with Glossaryck more times than we saw in the show? Was he in on it with Toffee? Why did it seem like he had a connection to Eclipsa?
*let's see why it's such a bad ending* -rushed break up -forced starco -awful finale villain -no tied ends with old plots -everybody is a sociopath mainly moon and star -ending racism with racism -plots that make no sense -no toffe yeah this sucks
I have been with you since your reaction to the beginning of season 2, so I am glad to see that while you agree that the ending could have been better, you still had a great time overall and enjoyed good content. I believe that as long as we are not toxic when it comes to the end of SVTFOE, we can enjoy what we got and turn to the fandom to continue the story and keep the spirit of the show alive. Overall I enjoyed the show and characters, and I am glad that you did too.
Listen, I noticed in the drawing of the magic star in her grandmother's room that there is a magic heart on her cheeks, and so is her mother, and also if you noticed in the drawing that there is no merging of Mewni and the earth and I think that this drawing implies that magic is still there and also hints to season 5 of the series and I expect that moon will return as a queen, and their castle will be repaired with magic...
I’m late, but I’m a huge fan of SVTFOE and did you notice that on the season 1 finale, glossaryck talked about cleaving... and that’s why it’s named cleaved (as well as star cleaving the two worlds together, but i just wanted to share the s1 thing)
my son says glossaryck said captain goes down with his ship.go back S1 E8 before marco goes to the blood moon ball he is look at picture that is a captain then go to s3 e10 sweet dream eclipea goes near portrait of same captain behind it a secret enters. this happen ep2 before S3 E12 where marco has moon cheek.why
WHY Marco had Moon Cheecks: >>Humans and Mewmans are the same species, therefore anyone can make magic if they have enough contact with it (ex. using the wand) That´s why Festivia could became a magical queen even thought she wasn´t bloodline royal. The reason Star and Moon and Eclipsa had permanent marks was because they´ve been in contact with magic for generations, that leaves a mark... literaly.
Yeah, eventually any human would have cheekmarks after prolonged magical exposure, and the wand was able to be used by anyone who was able to. The wand even changed shape for that lobster monster in season 1 when he held it.
-The fact that Star Thanos Snapped all living thinking magical creatures out of existence, along with the show glossing over it like genocide isn't a big deal, really rubs me the wrong way. I can just imagine Spider with a top hat, on the verge of disappearing, wondering if he did something wrong with the only reason being "you exist." -Marco getting impaled and the show deciding to just Ctrl + Z the situation instead of doing something with it is underwhelming. -This show has jerked me around so many times with the romance stuff for no good reason that I stopped caring about it, for the sake of my sanity. -I don't think a series finale should merge the realms and then call it a wrap. "Leave them wanting more" only works if you plan on telling them more at some point. -Why the hell did everyone let Nina leave after all the turmoil she put them through!? Stop! Her!
Star killed no one but the spells, who aren't fully independent creatures, and the MHC, who were villains. She was stopping a genocide that likely would've turned into an even larger interdimensional one. 100% agree with Marco being impaled. That was completely pointless. Yeah the romance stuff was stretched out too much. Mina was allowed to live more because they probably couldn't just show a defenseless person being murdered. Also, thematically it makes more sense since killing Mina isn't going to solve the racism against monsters and she could be used in anything done down the line, especially since Earth has been merged with Mewni.
If you read the book guid you'll learn that one of the previous queens cast a spell accidentally that sent mewmans to earth the theory is that Marco is descended from one of those mewmans and any mewman can do magic since the royal family are just mewmans who have been exposed to magic longet than anyone else
If this had another season, of course with the magic not having been blown up. I would've written that horn injury Marco got as evil magic that strengthened his monster arm so it could come back. Then it would gain control and Monster Arm would be the series finale villain.
Anyone can use the wand, Mewmans are humans that came to mewny through the magic well and Marco have the cheek marks because that's what happens to humans using magic the Butterfly queens have it permanently because they've been using it for hundreds of years.
Yeah, even with this being my favorite show ever, this finale is really confusing and kind of bad. It sets up a continuation that may never even happen and that makes me really Sad. But oh well, It was enjoyable at least.
I agree. Even if it takes a while, I trust we will get a continue in the future. Look at Samurai Jack. It took a long time, but we finally got a proper finale. Hopefully we don't have to wait that long for this one.
Lulystalgia Nature I really doubt it’ll be continued. In fact, that would probably be for the worst, considering the only way to fix the show’s ending would be completely scrapping and redoing season 4 (and at _least_ changing aspects of season 3 that sucked)
Lulystalgia Nature the thing is it isn’t just loose ends. It’s _bad writing._ The problems with the writing aren’t just that there are some questions left unanswered and some plot threads left unresolved. Another season _could_ hypothetically fix that. The real major problems come with actual flaws with the storyline and writing of the show. Things like inconsistent character motives like Moon. Things like bad relationship writing like breaking up Jarco in 1 episode, breaking up Kellco offscreen, and rushing Starco at the end because they barely have any time left. Things like creating genuine problematic situations that could make people uncomfortable like Marco being in his 30’s, the Blood Moon Ball disqualifying any “Starco moments” that happen during the timespan of the curse, and Star definitely being a terrible girlfriend to Tom and doing things like not telling him about the kiss and drooling at Marco and the woman in the neverzone. And so much more. If you feel like it, I suggest watching the video “How Star vs. the Forces of Evil Fell From Grace” by Blue Order. It isn’t just your typical “this thing you like is bad and you’re bad if you like it.” It’s made by someone who loved the show during season 1 and 2, who once considered it his favorite show of all time. It spends a good amount of time at the beginning going over exactly why the first 2 seasons were so amazing, then dives into why seasons 3 and 4 didn’t live up to it and where they went wrong. Before watching it honestly I wasn’t really thinking much about the problems with the show, even if I knew the quality wasn’t as good as it once was. But after watching it I wasn’t left sad and defeated, feeling like someone just ruined something for me, I was honestly left enlightened, and felt like I’d learned something and that I could look at the show from a more critical and well-versed perspective. Honestly that’s just my opinion, but I seriously suggest giving the video a watch. It’s really great and really well made.
@@TLoMaCM2 Too many bad factors were in play. Fillers, rushed writing, and the possibility that Daron Nefcy was trusting she would be given a fifth season. Of course, we must consider there were too many offscreen moments, which made the series feel even more rushed.
In the great words of Glossaryck “You can cleave something apart(which they did to the magic) or cleave something together”( which they did to Mewni and Earth
(MY) EPILOGUE Rhombulus awakens with a start in a strange unknown world with Glossaryck poking at him, telling him to get back to work. Hekapoo and the rest of the Magical High Commission are there, even Lekmet, as well as Spider with a Top Hat, Doop Doop, and all the other spells from every queen of Mewni. (Total Annihilation Spell is flying to and fro in the background, creating the world rather than destroying.) Rhombulus asks what happened; Glossaryck sighs impatiently as he says Star Butterfly finally set them free. Hekapoo asks what will happen to Mewmans without them, but Glossaryck tells her that's no longer their concern and Mewmans will be fine. He promptly creates a new, tiny wand and hands it to an excited Spider with a Top Hat as the members of the MHC scream at him to stop. Omnitraxis: "What did you do that for??" Glossaryck: "Ohhh, just to see what happens this time." CUT TO BLACK
The answer to why Marco had yellow crescent moon cheek marks is he was part of the card deck symbol thing moon was had diamonds, star had heart, meteora a had clubs, eclipsa had spades, and Marco was the joker
I thought I want to be sad... (maybe because it not an ending I was expecting it to be...) But then again, Infinity Train's reaction is next Friday... So, I'm more excited with that one XD
I realize this reaction is 2 years ago but in defense of the show, the team fully thought they'd have another season but the show was cut short so they had to do what they could to wrap it all up. It's why I look on this finale with kinder eyes than most I guess xD
Anyone can use the wand the cheek marks are there bc they appear on any human who uses the wand. Bc we found out like 2 episodes ago, and also the episode where Glossaric and Meteora time travel, that the Mewmans were humans that fell into the realm of magic and came out in Mewnie. We also know anyone who uses the wand eventually gets the cheek marks bc otherwise Stars family wouldn't have them since their great however many grandmother Festivia wasn't actually Eclipsa's daughter. I have mixed feeling about the episode as well but that much did actually have some degree of explanation behind it.
hey alycia, its been really fun to watch this show with you :) im really sorry that you didnt like the finale :( it was an awesome show and i wish there would be some more answers to the unanswered questions (and there are a lot) but yeah its been great :D cu
I think any human can use magic if they use the wand. Festivia was a not a royal child and yet after being exposed to the wand long enough, she developed cheek marks and could use magic, and her children were born with marks too. It seems to be an effect of being exposed to magic. Star and Moon lost their marks after magic was destroyed.
I think Marco's magic moon cheeks are because he's a descendant of Alphonse, Eclipsa's dad or Justin- former boy-queen of Mewni. They resigened on Earth ages ago.
Marco had that mark on his face because it represents that he is Star's soulmate, at least that's what I think❤❤❤❤❤ this show deserves another season❤❤❤❤❤❤
i don.t know if you ever had the cheakmark thing explained, but basicaly humans = mewmans and checkmarks are the result of high magic exposure, its why stars famly also devopled them despite lacking a relation to eclipsa's famly
Mewmans descended from humans. Mewmans were merely pilgrim humans who were exposed to magic. Marco got exposed to the blood moon curse on top of that, so... If that isn’t enough, there’s also a theory claiming that Marco is a distant relative to Star, by skywynne, queen of hours, according to the book of spells.
OK, I HAVE to say this somewhere! I'm that weird person who actually LOVED the finale (and season 4 is my favorite season of the show 😆) I understand why people don't like it, but nevertheless, I REALLY liked it. I'm pretty sure I cried harder than I have watching a finale ever, and after the finale, I literally was in shock at how amazing it was and it took me a few days to get over it. Also, I enjoyed how they went out of the box with the finale, like it was such a good solution getting rid of the magic to me! Like, for example, in the My Little Pony finale, they just solved the problem like they always do: with the magic of friendship! It's like, "come on guys, this is the finale, do something different and interesting!" STAR DID THAT! I'm pretty young, so maybe I just don't know good storytelling, but yeah, I really liked it. 😥
i agree 100% i loved the ending too even with its flaws manily starco rushed i loved the ship and still do but wished it was not confirmed till the last few episodes. i really wanted a season with starco
The reason the ending kind of feels off is most likely because the show was cancelled so they couldn't explain or revel things that were hinted at through out the series, actually we were lucky they gave us any kind of ending usually cancelled shows just end with the last episode either being just a random ordinary episode or a cliffhanger ending that leads to a season that ultimately will never be.
Didn’t Daron know that she was getting four seasons all along though? You can’t just blame it all on being cancelled, especially since they stopped planning ahead after season 2’s ending, despite the fact that planning ahead was what got them such an active and vibrant fanbase. They even fired their continuity checker after Cornonation I believe.
this finale made me tear up and i dont know why. i literally never cry when watching anything but for some reason this finale got me teared up. like i can count on one hand the number of times any form of media has done that to me. and its weird because its not like this show was sadder or more emotional than a lot of other shows i watch that didnt have me react this way. i honestly cant tell you why, it just did. maybe it was just a matter of circumstance with the headspace i had while watching. i related to the characters just wanting love and felt like it was too late for me but i can live vicariously through them, and when it seemed like they weren’t gonna be together it hit me harder than it normally would... so i guess i can explain it lol
I can only help with one of your question which is why Marco could control the wand: We've seen when Glossaryck took Meteora to the past that the first settlers in Mewni appeared there through the magical dimension and Glossaryck was the one who gave them the wand which started the Mewman line of royals with their respective cheek marks. We've also seen through Festivia the Fun that any Mewman who uses the wand for a longer period of time develops the cheekmarks that are characteristic for the Butterfly family. Then we've seen when Star, Jenna, Tom and Marco found the Earthwell that a group of HUMANS went into the well with a boat and found Glossaryck and stuff in the inscription meaning the first settlers in Mewny were HUMAN so the Mewmans are actually just Humans. Therefore any human is able to use the wand and develop the cheek markings. The ones of Marco being crescent moons was probably a false lead from the makers based on the blood moon curse. I get a lot of the criticism that the finale got, but I wouldn't go so far as to say that they ruined the finale. It was alright, but the resolution didn't feel really like it completed the show. I am happy, though, that we got a few resolutions like Marco using the wand again, seeing Eclipsa's and Meteora's butterfly forms, hearing the incantation of the whispering spell, having Solaria show disapproval of Mina, having Solaria show care for her half-monster granddaughter and stuff like that. I can see several problems with it, like you mentioned, with there being problems with the two worlds being CLEAVED together and Star just plainly forgiving Moon also doesn't fit that well, but I really liked buildup and still like the show overall.
I assume that those that dont rely on the magic realm are okay. Like Tom, and his family. Or the pony heads. Seeing as their existence is dependent on powers, but they didn't die. But what happened to everyone across the other dimensions, loads either died or lost abilities to see their family or loved ones. That was probably single handedly one of the worst and poorly thought out decisions star could have made.
I checked and yes, apparently Daren did confirm that powers and abilities not bestowed by an external source (the magic realm or things pulling from it) such as Toms demon abilities are still functional after the magic real was destroyed.
You can tell that the last stretch of episodes was rushed. I think they were planning on a few more seasons and then Disney cancelled them so the ended was cobbled together as fast as they could do it.
anyone is capable of using the wand. that's explained in the first episode. it's the reason why Star's parents were so concerned about monsters getting the wand. it's the reason why Ludo wanted it. one of the monsters from Ludo's army uses it in the first season. Marco's cheek marks were never explained but it could be theorized that, because the first Mewmans were actually humans, if a Mewman or a human hold the wand and use it's magic they would get cheek marks. its the only thing that actually makes sense where you dont also have to do a TON of theorizing and making stuff up just for it to work
Honestly even after almost 4 years I still don’t know exactly how to feel abt that ending haha Overall I enjoyed it, I still get so choked up rewatching it but yeahh it really does leave much to be desired I know in a few interviews Daron Nefcy (the creator of the show) had stated that she wanted the ending to give something the fans could play with and that it felt very natural that this one solution would also open up a lot more problems too. I get where she’s coming from but still, there’s a lot that just didn’t feel right and went unresolved. I agree though! I still love the show dearly despite its ending and it means so much to me
i love this show sooo much this show i am the most nostalgic over than anyshow ever!!!!!! i was for starco all the way through and this show got me through hard times it is an amazing show im glad i was lucky to find and watch i enjoy the ending with its flaws ilbeit wish we got more starco momments
There definitely were some issues with this finale, but tbf anyone can control the wand (as seen with Lobster Claws and Ludo/Toffee) and Marco only had the cheek marks due to coming into contact with the wand and spending a lot of time around it. The queens have it permanently because they were born with magic due to being in even closer contact with the wand, but it's likely that other people who spend a lot of time with them like King River possibly would have cheek marks temporarily if they used the wand.
The first mewmans were actually humans. And the cheek marks come from long-term exposure. So that's why Marco's cheeks started glowing. I assume his marks would stay if he kept consistently using magic.
tbh if we look back the butterfly family changed eclipsa's daughter for a normal baby from nowhere like how even the baby got the cheekmarks i think its related to the wand that they got their cheekmarks cause it would have been impossible that that baby got cheekmarks from nowhere and also with it offspring including moon and star, but dont mind it we are going to never get answers because the writers wanted starco so bad... And also about Mewni and the earth being together its a theory but it says that Marco and Star made a last hope spell as Star did in the "movie" "the battle for mewni" when they were hugging each other and cheekmarks started to shine
There was a rumor of the creator of this show trying to pitch a movie, but well Disney kinda shut it down, the creator wanted to do more work, but Disney shut it down. The finale was rushed, it felt like that it needed to be an hour long.
I think the biggest heresy in this rushed finale is summed in these things 1. How they handled toffee 2. How solaria was the start of the monster hate in Mina, yet she’s the one who looks down on her at the end 3. How the same monster that ate people for fancy still gets a happy ending Etc
@@thefastrightptg5048 the writing was bad yes, but at the very least it was still emotional. I've been following the show since the first episode aired and I had a deep connection to it, so that was good enough reason to make me cry. Also the _music_ was *beautiful*
@@carlosalejandroalvarenga4913 It wasn't that emotional...every side character got brushed aside for the Starco drama. They were obviously all after thoughts, especially since Ponyhead was retconned into not being magic, and Tom can't get home because portal magic is gone. It's actually horrifying, because it ends in screams and confused terror. New problems arise. A natural law of the universe was just destroyed, that had too many connections that it will ultimately be more evil of an act than anything Star's family ever did. The series really needed to tie things up better.
The answer to the wand question is actually pretty simple, which is that anyone can use a magic wand. As far as why Star can use magic without it idk, I’d guess that consistent use and practice with a wand can lead to a natural connection to magic but that’s just my best guess.
There has never been a reason for Marco to be unable to use the wand. The entire plot of the first couple seasons was Ludo wanting to steal it, season had Lobster Claws steal it, season 3 even had Marco himself use it to track down Star (remember, Janna put the little mole on it so it can match him)
Didnt they kinda explain why Marco had those things on his cheeks, he did said what if the first mumans were humans and that’s why he had those thing on his cheeks cuz he was the first human in a long time to use The wand
IMO. When it come to Star vs The Forces of Evil, I think a lot of people have it All Wrong. For Star vs The Forces of Evil was Actually a Love Story of Star Butterfly a Magical Princess from another Dimension from Mewni and Marco Ubaldo Diaz The Safe Kid from Echo Creek of Earth and how they Fell in Love. For Love is Always The Answer. All the other Plot Arcs were just the ends to the means. Not to say that any of the other Plots Arcs were not important. They were. But it just shows you how Solving Problems is never easy, and can't be Solved even with a Magic Wand. And for these reasons, I think this Ending is Simply Brilliant. And does not get the Accolade it Deserves. As far as how and why Earth and Mewni got Cleaved together. Well, we have to look at what happened in the Past when the Whispering Spell was used before. Something got blown up and then something or someone got Sucked in. Star and Marco's Final Spell was the Cleaved Spell. For with or without Magic They Belonged together. Which caused the Portals to open both on Mewni and Earth, and they got Cleaved together by both being Sucked into the Realm of Magic. Which probably saved the Realm of Magic from being Destroyed. Also, I don't believe that Magic got Actually Destroyed, either. Just like before it was changed into another Form. This time into a form that become inert. My Theory is that any Magical Creature that was directly touched by The Anti Magic Goo were Destroyed. While All of the Magical Creature that were Created Directly from the Magic still exist somewhere, just unable to use Magic, anymore. While anything or anyone that was Originally an Item that got Enchanted just got turned back into it's Original Item Form. This is why the Laser Puppies are still alive, they just can't shoot Lasers anymore. And why The Magic High Commission and Doop Doop were turned back into their Original Items Forms, losing their Enchantment. At Lease that my Weird and Wild Theory, anyhow. But with that All said, I too think that Star vs The Forces of Evil had not reached it's Full Potential, and should continue in some way, shape, or form. A Fifth Season, Spin-Off Series, Movie, Books, Comic Books, Graphic Novels, Video Games, Theme Park Meet and Greet, Theme Part Attraction, and/or Ect...
Also, it was in a Reddit a while back that she did that she stated that she knows a lot of people were unhappy with the ending. The reason she left it that way was so if Disney came her permission to do a S5 she would of continued on and would of gave this the ending it deserves. Also, so the fans would demand a S5 but nothing from Disney yet. I hope they do continue this series because there’s still a lot of unresolved/unexplained things in this show. I’m hoping this show has a perfect Starco ending and with everything explained/solved. Also, there’s that weird unofficial rule by Disney that a show can’t have more than 4 seasons
I still think we should get a season 5 or a movie. I feel like them cleaving earth and mewni could be a problem that they would have to solve and uncleave the two dimentions. I also think that they should not have removed the magic cause that takes a lot of the wonder of mewni and the queens overall.

True it was a good show with a bad ending but still enjoyable
It's not that it was bad. It's just that it didn't feel like a finale at all. If we could have something that could tie all the loose ends, it wouldn't be bad.
Lulystalgia Nature it honestly felt more like a season finale because of all the cliff hangers . I honestly really like that there’s still some ppl who enjoyed it though instead of most who hated it. I also have mixed feelings but I mean hey at least I was able to watch this show and make many happy memories. I’m sure years down the like this show will be more nostalgic than it already is to me. Anyways sorry for the long paragraph I’m in my feels rn :(
Show finale * oops lol
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
Not to mention ludo can use the wand so clearly you dont have to be magical or part of the butterfly family or something to use the wand

100% correct.

Rushed? I felt it was prolonged or maybe i was just too impatient
“Straight out of Bill Cypher’s nightmares”
Lmao
The ending legit brought me to tears
no but same tho and i dont know why. i literally never cry when watching anything but for some reason this finale got me teared up. like i can count on one hand the number of times any form of media has done that to me. and its weird because its not like this show was sadder or more emotional than a lot of other shows i watch that didnt have me react this way. i honestly cant tell you why, it just did. maybe it was just a matter of circumstance with the headspace i had while watching. i related to the characters just wanting love and felt like it was too late for me but i can live vicariously through them, and when it seemed like they weren’t gonna be together it hit me harder than it normally would... so i guess i can explain it lol

Macho Marco had battle scars everywhere so I think the reason why Marco was so nonchalant about that was because he was already used to getting these types of wounds
Oh wow. Nice observation. You're right.
I was obsessed with this show!!! It was so great watching your reaction and laughing along with you! Keep it up!! 👏👏

WHY Marco had Moon Cheecks:
>>Humans and Mewmans are the same species, therefore anyone can make magic if they have enough contact with it (ex. using the wand) That´s why Festivia could became a magical queen even thought she wasn´t bloodline royal.
I recommend watching TheMixzero6's Alternate Ending to Star vs the Forces of Evil
The magic no destroy
-The fact that Star Thanos Snapped all living thinking magical creatures out of existence, along with the show glossing over it like genocide isn't a big deal, really rubs me the wrong way. I can just imagine Spider with a top hat, on the verge of disappearing, wondering if he did something wrong with the only reason being "you exist."
-Marco getting impaled and the show deciding to just Ctrl + Z the situation instead of doing something with it is underwhelming.

@@TLoMaCM2 I don't think remaking half of the entire show is necessary. Just explain the loose ends and it should be alright.

I’ve rewatched this show 4 times it’s so good
Cheek marks appear when humans are in contact with magic for a long time. That is what happened to Marco
hey alycia, its been really fun to watch this show with you :) im really sorry that you didnt like the finale :( it was an awesome show and i wish there would be some more answers to the unanswered questions (and there are a lot) but yeah its been great :D cu
I was satisfied with ending too. We're both weird, but that's not bad.
i agree 100% i loved the ending too even with its flaws manily starco rushed i loved the ship and still do but wished it was not confirmed till the last few episodes. i really wanted a season with starco

Best Janna moment EVER!
8:16 he had it because when he fall on the horse to save tom he got stab by the horse horn
From one train to another!
anyone is capable of using the wand. that's explained in the first episode. it's the reason why Star's parents were so concerned about monsters getting the wand. it's the reason why Ludo wanted it. one of the monsters from Ludo's army uses it in the first season. Marco's cheek marks were never explained but it could be theorized that, because the first Mewmans were actually humans, if a Mewman or a human hold the wand and use it's magic they would get cheek marks. its the only thing that actually makes sense where you dont also have to do a TON of theorizing and making stuff up just for it to work
Honestly even after almost 4 years I still don’t know exactly how to feel abt that ending haha
Overall I enjoyed it, I still get so choked up rewatching it but yeahh it really does leave much to be desired
I know in a few interviews Daron Nefcy (the creator of the show) had stated that she wanted the ending to give something the fans could play with and that it felt very natural that this one solution would also open up a lot more problems too.
Like I don’t mind how the show ended but the way it ended that is just wrong
The finale was rushed, it felt like that it needed to be an hour long.
guess what she knew was only get 4 seasons
I think the biggest heresy in this rushed finale is summed in these things
1. How they handled toffee
2. How solaria was the start of the monster hate in Mina, yet she’s the one who looks down on her at the end
3. How the same monster that ate people for fancy still gets a happy ending
Etc
Well I’m sure Marco could control the wand because the first “mewmans” were humans as shown in the hieroglyphics under Brittas tacos
I thought u were gonna cry at the end
why would anyone cry at this disgusting ending
@@thefastrightptg5048 the writing was bad yes, but at the very least it was still emotional. I've been following the show since the first episode aired and I had a deep connection to it, so that was good enough reason to make me cry. Also the _music_ was *beautiful*
@@carlosalejandroalvarenga4913 yeah the music was really good but that was it
@@carlosalejandroalvarenga4913 It wasn't that emotional...every side character got brushed aside for the Starco drama.
@@watertommyz well I said it was emotional not logical💀
i personally loved this ending alot the emontions went high
The answer to the wand question is actually pretty simple, which is that anyone can use a magic wand.
As far as why Star can use magic without it idk, I’d guess that consistent use and practice with a wand can lead to a natural connection to magic but that’s just my best guess.
Hi 👋 Star vs the forces of evil Moive found it 24 April 2023 Release date 😭.. I can't found
Anyone can use the wand and the cheek markings are from long exposure to magic.
the ending grew on me after watching it a couple times. i gennerally accept things easily with theyre flaws.
How come they didn’t just get rombulous to freeze everybody instead of destroying the magic
I am gonna cry 100x times
