Yes . Before the game , a reporter told him that it was being said that he couldn't shoot 3's . He told the reporter that he didn't focus on shooting 3's . That he was as good of a three point shooter as he " chose " to be . So he chose to prove his point . He was also told that some thought Clyde Drexler was as good as he . That's why he did that .
I love how when you see the highlights how much the games matter to him. The celebrations, the hugging. And when down or losing the pain and fire. True competitor not just a athlete.
This dudes hands gave him a extra tool. And to have hands that big and still be able to shoot and be one of the greatest mid range shooters in history is crazy. Its hard af to shoot when your hands are that big

MJ was/is a once in a lifetime athlete that made people from around the world watch basketball whenever he was on the court, even if they weren’t fans of his, or if they weren’t fans of basketball, or if they weren’t fans of the NBA…MJ is a cultural phenomena that backed up his accolades/awards/achievements by the way he played the game he loves so much and the way he was committed to practice, the game, the fans, and being the best he could be whenever he took the court. If anyone was/is as great as MJ in the NBA, the world around us would immediately respond, react, and proclaim it…this person would dominate social media and the Internet like no other…unfortunately, there’ s a few sports commentators and personalities at ESPN and elsewhere who are constantly forcing the fake narrative that LeBron is somehow the greatest ever… LeBron’s a great player that did great things, but when you see MJ and LeBron play the game, it’s obvious how much better MJ really is…and MJ did it all in only 15 seasons (13 full seasons)…MJ wasn’t ring-shopping, team-hopping, super-team creating like the players of today keep doing just to achieve what MJ achieved or better…✌️🎤🔥🐐👽
In an interview MJ said that he only switched from dunking with his right hand to doing a layup with his left hand because he saw Sam Perkins in the paint move as if he was going to block the dunk and while in the air-split second decision, MJ decided to try and draw the foul while trying to score the bucket…That’s what I call thinking fast on his feet and reaching into his bag to score the basket…. Legendary MJ moment…😎👍
The reason Jordan chose 23 was back when he was a kid his fav team # for sports was 45. But it was his older brother’s number so when they played together and his bro was 45, Jordan decided to half 45 to 22.5 rounded up to 23. And he was 23 ever since until the short stint he wore 45 again because his 23 had been retired. Hope that answers your question. Great reaction!
Six 3s in the FIRST HALF... MJ had 35 points in the first half. And yeah, you are right, the media was comparing MJ and Drexler. Someone said Drexler was a better shooter. So, Mike being Mike, of course he starts the game shooting 6 threes before halftime. 🐐ness
Sam Bowie was a seven footer and back then it was a Centers league and SGs were never considered as important as a Center. The mindset was You can’t teach size. MJ changed all that by winning it all multiple times as a SG. Now top talent at any position can be #1 pick Nowadays being a center doesn’t guarantee #1 pick status. In hindsight, that Sam Bowie pick over MJ changed the game in that respect for the better. Now no one sleeps on the best talent on any position.
Bird isn't messing with Jordan running the 1's!! Jordan was much faster and athletic than Bird, but Bird might be one the if not the greatest team players in history
Just to put into perspective how crazy Jordan's defense was, there hasn't been a player record 200+ steals in a season since 2009, Jordan had 6 seasons of recording between 200-259 steals in a season and retired #2 all time in steals and is still #4 all time. Not to mention he's the all time leader in blocks for a guard. No other guard comes close
No Sam Bowie wasn't nice but the Blazers had just drafted Clyde Drexler in either 1982 or 83 so they weren't in need of a SG but were in dire need of a big man in the middle

The media said jordan would have his hands full with drexler because drexler was better at 3 pointers. That gave michael motivation and the rest is history.
They said they climbed directly just as good as Michael Jordan. But a better three point shooter and michael jordan said "he's a better three point shooter than I chose to be." Then he proceeded to kill them with 6 3s in a half which was a record that stood until ray allen broke it. In the process he scored 35 in the half Which is still the record for most points in a half in the Finals. The best part is that he sat 8 minutes on the bench in the half and sat out the rest of the game. With how hot he was playing he could have had 80+ 😂😂😂😂😂
Before the game I think it was, they were comparing Drexler to Jordan but they said Drexler was the better shooter. So he made a point in that game to show he can shoot the 3 if he wanted too. I guess he took the comment disrespectful. The shrug means "Well I guess I can shoot the three". Just those statements performing in how he did seemingly always, is what makes Jordan so great above the others.

In college he was pretty nice , but fragile physically . That's why he couldn't make it in the NBA . Remember the league was EXTREMELY physical then . He definitely wasn't even close to being as nice as Jordan , but he was a 7 footer . Teams felt like big men were the most important building piece then . It shows how nice Mike was to go as high as he did .
None of these dudes in today's game are jumping higher, Jordan still has the highest vertical of anybody who's ever played in the nba. I like Gerald Green tho over any of these newer dudes. That boy got upsy daisy's 😂 I'm 45, back then, the footage didn't look like this because we got to see it live. We didn't have the internet back then, so when you do find those old clips, they're old warped recordings. We also didn't have HD back then. So it looked good to us because that's all we had. I like watching certain types of movies with that old grainy look cause it makes the movie look more believable because it looks so gritty 😂 😂 😂
Wilt likely had the highest vertical and Jordan second but MJ definitely was the most incredible athlete on court we have seen in the modern game. Whilst being the most skilled.
The dunk contest back then was more than jus the dunk itself. It also had to do with how high u were gettin, how far out your jumping from, how hard u throw it down...
When Jordan came into the league the NBA was dang near done. One of the least watched sports, full of crack heads alcoholics, and he alone raised the league from near death to what you see today. Jordan is still the NBA
25:24 "people just started jumping higher and getting more creative." ... only half right, they got more creative and built off previous ideas... but didn't jump any higher, jordan still has the highest Vert at 52in if I remember correctly.
One on one, Larry Bird of French lick Indiana against Michael, Jeffrey Jordan, who is born in Brooklyn, grew up in North Carolina play with Chicago bulls. I got Michael, Jeffrey Jordan, all freaking day. I mean God.
He didn’t try to shoot threes. He said that that will take away from his game standing at the three-point line but that game he shows to shoot threes because they said something in the news about Clyde Drexler shooting threes or someone must’ve said he’s not a three-point shooter Mike could do it all.
It's not that players started jumping higher . Creativity is better . Remember , Mike has the highest recorded vertical in history of league at 48 inches . That includes players of today . No it didn't hurt our eyes . Remember , you're watching archived footage . We were watching actual television broadcasts .
At those 84 Olympics Magic called Jordan the best NBA player, with Jordan not even playing one minute on an NBA floor. How is Bird gonna stop MJ's first step? Jordan would burn bird to the basket EVERY time. It comes down to who misses more lay ups and dunks by MJ, or mid to long range shots from bird.
It wasn’t that Sam Bowie was good, he was just a big man in a big man league. Guards didn’t play like Mike in the post. So Mike turned their height into a liability.
Those day the draft was about center big man just like what happened to mj in high school been cut by his team mj got cut because his hight he was small
You young guys kill me questioning the competitive fire of past players when you guys ask why did dudes jump up and get dunked on?....it's called competition young man which today's league lacks, these guys today are more worried about how they look on social media...smh
Jordan's wingspan is 6 feet 11 1/2 inches. To dunk from the free throw line, you have to be able to jump and go forward at the same time. And I'm taking Jordan over Bird in a one on one. Bird can't guard MJ but he could guard Bird, he's too slow to outplay MJ one on one bro. Lol 2 different positions. A SG vs a SF/PF nahh bruh, and we not talking about just any SG, we talking about Michael Jordan 😂 he a different type of monster.
Yes . Before the game , a reporter told him that it was being said that he couldn't shoot 3's . He told the reporter that he didn't focus on shooting 3's . He didn’t try to shoot threes. He said that that will take away from his game standing at the three-point line but that game he shows to shoot threes because they said something in the news about Clyde Drexler shooting threes or someone must’ve said he’s not a three-point shooter Mike could do it all.
MJ one on one.
💯💯💯
It's not that players started jumping higher . Creativity is better . Remember , Mike has the highest recorded vertical in history of league at 48 inches . That includes players of today . No it didn't hurt our eyes . Remember , you're watching archived footage . We were watching actual television broadcasts .
💯💯
At those 84 Olympics Magic called Jordan the best NBA player, with Jordan not even playing one minute on an NBA floor. How is Bird gonna stop MJ's first step? Jordan would burn bird to the basket EVERY time. It comes down to who misses more lay ups and dunks by MJ, or mid to long range shots from bird.
💯💯💯
Sam Bowie was a good center in college.he had issues with his feet.that's what derailed his career
Wilt can (hypothetically) be a nightmare 1:1 or Kareem. Kareem is hard to stop. Wilt is hard to stop and can stop anyone.
Shaquille O'Neal's Decision To Walk Away From A $40M Deal Led To Affordable Shoes For Millions.
Young folks don't understand aliens. 4ft vertical, 4.3 40 . That's far above anyone except Wilt . 4ft vertical 4.4 40 , 500 lbs bench press
No one could beat Jordan 1 on 1. No one ever!
I don't think you know how hard those dunks is
Them dunks are pretty hard I just can do them so I think it looks easy
Larry Legend will definitely get plenty of buckets on MJ, however MJ would win the overall battle in the end.
I like that take
A Martin Luther King speech 😅😅😅😅😅😅
Looked like it😂😂😂😂
Jordan wore 23 cause his brother wore 45 and half is 22.5. so he rounded off to 23. Jordan wore 45 when he came back out of retirement
It wasn’t that Sam Bowie was good, he was just a big man in a big man league. Guards didn’t play like Mike in the post. So Mike turned their height into a liability.
Ahhh okay I see
Sam Bowie was nice in college 😂
Those day the draft was about center big man just like what happened to mj in high school been cut by his team mj got cut because his hight he was small
You young guys kill me questioning the competitive fire of past players when you guys ask why did dudes jump up and get dunked on?....it's called competition young man which today's league lacks, these guys today are more worried about how they look on social media...smh
💯 I feel that
Jordan's wingspan is 6 feet 11 1/2 inches.
💯😭😭
Bro 1 on 1?? Who wants to get schooled? 😂 MJ NO1 ALL DAY!!!😊
