Bro He didn't even have to shoot 3's he was so good at getting and 1's and getting to the line, that and before you knew it he had 30 or 40 points just grinding. Can you imagine the mental warfare he unleashed on his opponents could you imagine being on the other team, thinking there is nothing we can do to stop this man. You just thought whenever the game was on the line and the Bulls had another possession that MJ was gonna make sure he got it done. He knew what time it was, everyone on the court knew what time it was, and the fans all over the world knew what time it was, and no one was gonna stop it.That's a basketball God!

I'm a Knicks fan I despised MJ, and when it came game time I always had hope the knicks would finally stop him, but as the game went on I would feel the toll he was taking on my team, and in time I'd feel the toll as well, he was ripping my heart out right along with anyone who opposed him. Straight savage! After he would beat us time and time again in the playoffs, I would just find myself rooting for the man I despised just because of the greatness that I was witnessing, I had no choice but to be in awe of his ability to just take the heart out of a team and a crowd. LeBron doesn't have that ability, when the games on the line I don't feel the threat that MJ would impose, no doubt LeBron is a beast, but he doesn't put fear in my heart when he's playing my team and the ball is in his hands, because I know he's gonna usually find another player on the team, or take a difficult shot and sometimes it goes in or sometimes he walks off the court disappointed, MJ, always came out with his head high after a nba final, but MJ, it felt like it was %95 gonna be over, and like you knew what the future was gonna be, me leaving with my head hanging!

Fun Fact: after the Bulls lost their first 3 games of the 90-91 season, Michael Jordan would never lose 3 consecutive games again for the remainder of his career in Chicago. That's a streak of over 600 games, regular and postseason, without a 3-game losing streak.

Growing up in Chicago in the 90s, I had the fortune of seeing Jordan play live in person three times, along with watching nearly every game of the rest of his career live on local tv. He genuinely had no hole in his game. Top scorer, top defender, incredible handles, fantastic passer (on the few occasions when he bothered to give the ball to anyone else) and a refuse to lose mentality. He was revered and feared by the entire league. Nobody has come close to that since, which really sucks because, man, it was a sight to see. He was the biggest celebrity on the planet. It was truly unreal.

Dont get me wrong LeBron is good and can do some nice stuff, but he aint doing that all game long every game like MJ was doing. And on a season by season, especially the first half of his career. Those numbers were crazy. One year he avg 8 rebounds and 8 assists. While putting up over 30ppg. First of all, i am from germany, so i could never watch the bulls play live at the court. But me and my brother stayed up at night to watch the bulls play on tv. I still watch some NBA games so i think i can compare back in the days to now. Its worth watching interviews of Michael himself and interviews of other players talking about Michael. It says it all if other players where that terrified of him not to piss him of to make sure he doesnt go nuclear. His games were always good, he went on the floor to give the fans the best possible experience every game. Didnt matter if he was hurt or anything. He went on the floor and the fans knew there is a party coming. Another good video of him is his Hall of Fame speech.
What really makes him special was his mindset, determination and competitive nature. You could see that in every game and in the way he evolved from the beginning of his career to the end of his career. He came into the NBA as ok shooter midrange shooter, good defender but first of all finisher at the rim. His drive to the rim made him realize he needed to work on his body because he got beat up really good and he wasnt build right for that kind of punishment. So he trained and changed that. Some people said his midrange shooting wasnt good enough so he worked on that. Everytime he got challenged in a way he changed his gameplay, trained to get better and better. He always evolved, made sure to prove anybody wrong. You never knew from season to season what he added to his gameplay. He could read the games on court and act on that. He was the kind of guy that won games on his own if he got the feeling his team isnt up for a win. It was always a pleasure watch him play, see him getting better and better. Its a fact that Michael Jordan made the NBA world famous. Kobe had the same mindset like Michael. I will never ever say LeBron isnt a great player but compared to Michael its just another level. Some guys called him black jesus or god, think of that. If an enemy player has that kind of power over you to admit or call him stuff like that. Michael was the player you could put anywhere on court and he would be a massive problem for the opposit team. His influence on the NBA was huge. Thinking of him playing in the NBA now would be insane. Way less physical so he would have so much more space to play his game.
In the NBA now i like watching Steph Curry, seeing him evolve is huge fun. His ability to shoot from anywhere he wants is mindblowing, his handles are getting better and better. The big downside to Steph is his defense i think.
I dont hate on any body playing in the NBA, but Michael is and always will be a special player

Here is what makes them the greatest. Played 100% effort every game. Played hurt and sick. Could do things nobody else could do. Never complained, never quit, they were fierce competitors. Both legendary trash talkers who could back it up. Both were incredible defenders. Both could hit any shot anywhere. Both played in the hardest era and against multiple defenders. Both were humble about their greatness. Both were clutch there was never a moment too big.

As others have pointed out, his midrange game was unmatched. He probably had the best midrange game in the history of the league. He could take guys off the dribble, he could set and shoot jump shots, he could post up and nail fade away jumpers like it was nothing, he could pass out of double and triple teams.... All of that along with the fact he was the best finisher in the league = impossible to guard. MJ literally made a career of making every defender in the league, including hall of famers like Rodman, look bad on defense. There is a reason for the whole "you can't stop him, you can only hope to contain him" saying... And then, if that's not enough, he was one of the best defensive players in the game (and one of the best defensive shooting guards in league history) and he ALWAYS played hard on both ends of the court. GOAT.

His midrange was automatic because in high school and college 3 pointers weren’t in the game yet. The three point line wasn’t added to college ball until 1986 after he was drafted. He didn’t need to develop a 3 point shot until he made it to the league.

The league didn't adopt the 3-pointer until 1979--Magic Johnson and Larry Bird's rookie season. While certain college basketball conferences experimented with it in the early '80s, the NCAA didn't universally implement a 3-point line until 1986, with high school basketball following suit a year later.

I keep coming back to your reaction videos because they come across as very genuine. So you've done a great job.
One of Jordan's greatest physical gifts were his hands. He had unusually wide and long hands. He also had a wide
opposable thumb. This combination of attributes allowed him to palm the ball with either hand and manipulate it
in a way that few others could. That's why he is able to make shots that look like they have no business going in.
If you type in "Michael Jordan's hands" on TH-cam, you will see that people have posted videos about it. Rex Chapman
played against Jordan in the 90's. When asked about Jordan's hands, he said he doesn't understand why that's not
the first thing people talk about when they discuss Michael Jordan.

@@MsNewman1962 You sir need to educate yourself as well. Because your thought process is off. It seems like having the talent to make it to the finals is more important than winning the finals. The D was based on one on one but most of the time in those early years he scored on the 3 and 4 guys. And if you are as old as I am to have been to and watched and lived through and played in that era, it was 100% tougher. Nothing came easy. And MJ is the proof that if you put in the work and have the desire you will achieve greatness. LBJ will be in any talk because he is a great player in his own right. But as far as finals wins 6 and 0 trumps 4 and 8. To get there every year and not win says a lot. To get there and never lose says more. Plus all of the defensive accolades along with scoring. The 6 times he made it to the finals he was 6 time MVP. And he prevented a whole lot of superstars frim getting a ring once he got there. And his road was tough although he made it look easy. Just wanted to note a few things also Young Brother.......The main thing you should notice is not only is the defense tighter and more physical, look at who MJ is doing it against at the rim.....when he gets there there are legit 7' and up Centers and PF's there to knock his head off! Contrast that to now where LeBron has spent more than half his career and dominated by being one of the biggest guys on the court at times because of the small ball era. I won't even get into the fact that over 80% of Lebron's shots come from a mix of shots within 3 ft of the basket (layups and dunks basically) and shooting 3's. So when you watch MJ and see the artistry and creativity vs who he's doing it against...... MJ is just on another level! He's not settling, he's making it happen.
Also just wanted to note that back then MJ (and basketball in general) was MUST SEE TV!!! If Mike was playing an NBA on NBC game on Sunday at 2pm and you went to courts in your city at 1pm, the courts would be packed. If you went back to them at 2 when the game starts they would be like ghost towns lol. Until the game ended and then you would have guys trying to emulate what they just saw MJ do in the game, tongue out and everything lol. Ask yourself this, as much as you love Lebron, when was the last time you reworked your day to make sure you caught him playing (finals excluded)? Based on the ratings the last 10 years, he's just not that much of a TV draw. Don't get me wrong LBJ's a "great" player but he definitely benefits from the marketing of the NBA and the short attention fan of the average fan now-a-days.
