25/25 Special Segments and Wedgie Sled Tips Wood Turning

- Today I turned something very special and I also give some tips on how I use my wedgie sled and make an odd numbered wedge for making a 25 segment ring. Not a common sized but needed for what I was doing.
Be sure to watch to the end so you can see why I made the turning that I did.

Happy belated 51 years. That clock and frame are very special. I've been married almost 49 years and looking forward to the 50th. Time does keep on moving.

I had the name of the video 50 segments then changed it to 25/25 but you still out smarted me. Must be all those Smarties you eat LOL.

I love the paduke wood with its rich color (my favorite-red) and smooth looking texture! You truly bring out the beauty in every piece of wood you touch! You are phenomenal! Bravo!

5-22-49 is my birthday and as far as anniversaries my wife and I were married November 20-1970. She has put up with me for 52 years. Working on my next 52.

What a perfect gift for such a golden milestone, Gary! The gift of time can be exceeded only by who you spend that time with and for that, I think we have two winners. This video was a fine explanation of the steps you go through to set up your jig to make the cuts for a segmented piece such as this. The finish for your timeless gift is exceptional. After putting the clock into what I turned it really hit me how time can really fly by. Compared to sitting in the dental chair getting your teeth cleaned which seems more like 50 years LOL. Sorry I could not help myself.

@@ThePapa1947 Q: I know you use saw dust and regular glue to fill up cracks. How large of cracks do you fill and how do you protect the area around the wood from staining? Apply sealer prior to wood glue?

I absolutely love it. I spent the most of the video trying to figure out the reason you used 25 segments in each ring. That was a great idea, and I bet your wife loves it. I know mine would (although I have a few years to go before we make it to 50)
