      many of these brave young men didn't even manage to put their gear up on these particular aircraft since it was also a handful during take-off and also landing put especially on take-off since it had a very narrow track undercarriage.

    G-6 was one of the very first model fighter I had built in my childhood days from Airfix no.1 series sold in transparent styrene bags. Having no paint, I dearly loved it even in light blue plastic with underwing rocket/cannon options. At the age of 58 watching them flying in peace is something priceless. These birds are holy relics. @@warren4110 Congrats mate. I was 12 or 13 when I built it. My country was in a close circuit economy then and such foreign origin "luxury" stuff could only be in by smugglers. Schön zu sehen bei 1:45 wie er die Freigängigkeit der Vorflügel überprüft. Hinter den Vorflügeln sitzen Federn. Wenn der Anstellwinkel größer wird , beispielsweise im steilen Kurvenflug, verringert sich die Anströmung von vorne und somit auch der Wiederstand, dadurch fahren die Vorflügel automatisch heraus. Im geradeaus Flug mit größerem Wiederstand drückt es sie and den Flügel. Einfach aber effizient.

    • @georgschwab8596
      @georgschwab8596 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Da sitzen keine Federn dahinter, die Vorflügel können sich frei herein- und herausbewegen. Bei hohem Anstellwinkel fahren die Vorflügel nicht durch Federkraft, sondern durch ihren eigenen Auftrieb heraus. Achte im Video darauf, wie der Pilot nach dem Hereindrücken die Vorflugel von Hand wieder herausziehen muss. Außerdem ist das keine deutsche Ingenieurskunst: Diese Art von automatischen Vorflügeln wurden von dem englischen Flugzeugingenieur Sir Handley Page kurz nach dem ersten Weltkrieg für deHavilland erfunden, die auch das Patent darauf hielten. Messerschmitt hat die Vorflügel unter Lizenz von deHavilland gebaut, seid 1941 jedoch mit einer verbesserten Lagerung.

What do you think, why US military had no material for one A-bomb before 1945 and shortly after German surrender, they had enough for 3(!) A-bombs? • @underverser
      @underverser 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@firefightergoggie No, that's not so simple... For example: In commercial aviation you need a license for every different type of airplane before you may piloting it... Even if you talk about a successor of a previous same type aircraft...

    • @underverser
      @underverser 4 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      @Pepper Grinder You can think that there are no differences at different planes... Ask the pilots of Lion Air and Ethiopian Airlines... They were in the beginning seamlessly thinking that the were flying just the aircraft as they were previous flying in and got used to it... And they crashed, failing to understand what MCAS was doing, how to prevent it from doing this and at last... They even didn't recognize a so called "trim runaway", which could helped them recover the aircraft if they knew how the system operates and disable it... Little training is never enough... That's why flying hours matter so much in aviation. In every type of aircraft, your starting count is ZERO!!!

    • @lsx001
      @lsx001 4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      @Pepper Grinder Actually, every type of plane is different, even the different ones of the same make and model. Every single plane has its own quirks. That's why whenever you are about to fly a new plane, or a new type, an instructor has to "check you out", to make sure you are qualified and know all of its quirks. Flying a 1500 hp single engine fighter, is very different than flying a 737. A lot of training and experience and training are required. (Flown no less than 10 models of plane myself.)

    What an amazing restoration. After the war, the Allies required that ALL aircraft engines be destroyed so that Germany could not rearm. So just being able to find a DB605 is amazing. And it was interesting how easily the engine fired up, and how crisp the throttle response was. Allied engines took a long time to build combustible mixture when cranking, and put out a lot of smoke when they finally fired. German engines had fuel injection, so had better starting and low-speed tractability.
    The whistle of the supercharger in the high speed passes was beautiful. Not as highly boosted as the Merlin, the DB engines had higher displacement to make the same power.
