This sounds like a hostage video right from the start.
Lol true
That... is the best potential outcome.
It even started with Elira pointing out that she "volunteered" to make the Statement.
Like hell she did this by her own will, Niji essentially admitted to forcing talents to make Statements in Selens Termination notice, and going further, punishing disobedience with them if you aren't willing to make a Statement on their behalf.
Sorry but hostage, gunpoint, forced, etc it's all sounds coping and sad.
They did what they did, maybe let's wait until they graduate and maybe they confess that they're forced or something but until then, they did what they did
They torture elira to read statements out loud....so scripted
I love how a point they present against Selen is that she used their real names and address in legal documents, like BOY, THEY AREN'T GOING TO CALL Y'ALL 'VOX AKUMA' OR 'MILLIE PARFAIT' IN A FUKING COURT
Bringing those private documents up is literally the dumbest decision I’ve ever seen. Either they are uninvolved scapegoats for Kurosanji and just admitted to breaking the law or are straight up confirming to the public that they are involved with the bullying allegations.
I feel bad now now that Doki is our how are the other vtubers..? Vox said this but who knows what they said to him if he didn’t do it..
I’m pretty sure they were forced to do this all reading the scrips since we can hear a light paper scroll thing…
I’m sure that they were currently forced since they were kind of being used as a shield as Mujin said. And where is the prove that THEY were the ones who bullied her if the source I read was correct wasn’t Ike or Vox or Elvira it were other vtubers if I’m correct some of Kyos friends.
you're actually right tbh...
@@l1anhu0as vox what not himself put it, "you can always leave if you don't want to do it"
Vox does know that Canada is a one party notification/consent state, right? This means that according to Canadian law, a phone recording is permitted as long as ONE party is aware of the recording. In this case, Selen. Therefore, while admittedly a bit morally grey, it was 100% legal for her, and well within her right to do so.
To be fair, not everyone knows that lol.

As a Canadian, I can tell you that the Vox recording thing is completely legal, regardless of how odious people might consider it. In Canada, it is completely legal to record a conversation without informing all the participants. Literally only one person in the conversation needs to be aware of the conversation being recorded.
Section 184 of the Criminal Code of Canada states that it is perfectly legal, as long as it is not done for commercial purposes. You want evidence that your husband is threatening to make you past tense? Do it. You want evidence that your husband Johnny McFamous threatened to kick your brother in the weiner to sell to TMZ? Not allowed. You want evidence that Vox Akuma said things that helps your case in the courts? Have at it. You want evidence that Vox Akuma said things that you can then use to blackmail him for financial gain? Completely a bad idea, and likely one that could result in prison time or, at best, getting sued into a refrigerator box as a home address.
So, regardless of how Vox might feel about it, legally there is nothing that can be done about it. Don't like it? Don't chat up a Canadian, or anyone in a one party state or country with a similar or identical law allowing for only one person to be aware that the conversation is being recorded.
As for the pretty obvious dissemination of legal documents intended for Kurocolour's legal team to non-legal employees like the Livers (or the lying of Livers that they witnessed the legal documents, or to the Livers of the contents of the legal documents), that is a massive problem which can be easily jumped all over by 'Selen's' lawyers. It could end up being the biggest problem since this all started, although, technically, the government of Canada and the province she resides in could get involved with the parts involving the releasing of Selen's medical situations without her consent, and well, as unlikely as that is, yeah, that could be an even bigger problem. PIPEDA is the Canadian equivalent of the US's HIPAA, although ours is actually broader, and includes telecommunications, banking and anything involving privacy...like legal documents.
Maybe those three should have just not recorded themselves admitting to being accessories to privacy violations.
Incorrect, you also need to follow the law regarding where the other person in the recording reside and in the UK it´s illegal to share a recording without consent to a third party.

Whoever made this move, doesn't realize that a court or legal document is not "at will" meaning you cannot show it to anyone, anywhere, at any time. Whoever it was addressed to, or whoever was supposed to receive it, will be the only ones who are liable to the information thereof.
This is not a simple "clearing the air", this is supposed to be an issue in court, not some rando in the company having immediate access to it and blurt out whatever is inside of these documents.
The documents should not have been shown in their "video", any part of it is confidential, nothing is supposed to be leaked.

Can we just take a moment to realize how horrible and toxic it is that a company makes a public announcement by asking employees to spill their personal feelings about a corporate legal proceeding involving them? There's no world where that's a good thing.
Most people have no idea what is involved in legal proceedings, and they're almost always stressful because what's at stake. Getting people to record their feelings about a legal proceeding will always make someone sound like they're panicking and being attacked, which is what Kurosaniji likely banked on. They wanted to force their talents to deal with that stress to try and manipulate public opinion. They probably hoped that people would hear the stress in their voices and assume Selen did something wrong, even though it's Niji's fault that their talents are enduring all this stress. I'm just glad that so many people saw through their lies.
It's hilarious that with all the time in the world, Niji couldn't muster a half decent statement, while Selen, caught off guard in the middle of her stream, ended up giving a better response of "I have receipts, I'll let my lawyer share the documents". When the whole thing happened, Doki said to not witch hunt the other livers. What she did not say, however, was that _she wasn't harrased by other livers._

I can't verify, but I heard Elira is currently on a work visa in Japan. Which explains why they picked her. She's the most vulnerable. If they fire her, she has to move out of the country practically immediately.
The most scummy move of all. If Elira was still in Canada she could sue for blackmail.
Or maybe she wanted to speak about it because she was one of the names mentioned in the confidential document, which meant that she could either be a witness or, one of the people responsible for causing doki distress, and if she were responsible, this could very well be just an attempt by Elira to paint Doki in a bad light or to deny the allegations that might come to light in the future, honestly who knows? She might have been involved in Sayu and other vtubers’ departures as well, so never say never

From personal experience, it can tell bullying isn't always what we see on TV. It's often a group of people thinking it's just teasing/criticism, not realizing that the intensity and frequency makes it insufferable for the person receiving it all. If then you get Opportunities cut, can't hold deadlines because of slow processing by management and also get punished for trying to hold up the deadlines anyway, and all of that over and over again, Then yes, this is bullying in my book.
The reciepts Vox had to defend the manager:
>Shows Selen asking for confirmation at 8 in the morning of the 24th (which admittedly, is pretty short notice, but not as bad as they make it out to be. All they need is ok from specific people (mainly those involved), and Selen already paid with her own money, so they really had little to no control on the matter)
>Manager replies 9 IN THE EVENING ON THE 25TH. (MAN YOU HAD ALMOST 2 DAYS, AND ALL YOU CAN SAY IS "OOPS SORRY I'M LATE. WHAT WAS IT YOU WHERE SAYING?")
>Somehow the manager thinking replying late was not the issue and had the BALLS to point out the thing being released without his/her confirmation. (Sure you can say she should have followed procedure, BUT GODDAMN HER MANAGER IS INCOMPETENT TO NOT EVEN REPLY FOR ALMOST 2 DAYS)
>Privated the video NOT THINKING OF ANY BACKLASH AT ALL, while saying "You might need to adjust it"
>(This part irks me the most) HAD THE BALLS TO SAY "Before you post anything about it, please confirm with me" (DUDE, you are late in the first place and you expect people to wait for YOUR OK? No wonder Selen popped a gasket)
In slight defense of that incompetent manager, he replied late probably because he wanted to celebrate Christmas. He probably didn't realize how much Selen wanted this released on the holidays too.
Other than that though? Yup. Fuck 'em. Hope he got fired.
Also, the video is a year in the making with Selen go out of her way to get the perm from LilyPichu and the producers herself for Niji, paid for everything. Seriously Anycolor needs a serious internal investigation in their management team right now this instant! Hiding in their talent's back like scumbags! Those private conversations and legal documents are only for Selen and her Lawyers only and it's stupid in everyway that those are leaked like it was nothing. Christ. They aren’t just shooting themselves in the foot, they’re sawing that foot, ankle, and shin off with a full auto 12 gauge. This is ridiculous.
Even if I'd take Vox words at face value, even when Doki secretly recorded Vox going as far back as a year ago (which may or may not be a severely morally wrong thing to do depending on the circumstances), it goes to show that she felt trapped and frustrated in Nijisanji for a long time, considering how early on she was preparing for an exit strategy. She allegedly talked a lot about graduation and beeing terminated multiple times, making contradictory statements, but Vox spinning that as an attempt to gaslight people as if she was some manipulative mastermind really rubs me the wrong way. That isn't how you interprete the actions of someone you call a "good friend", even if everything wen't down exactly as he described it.
First off, despite his very nonchalant way of talking about how easy it would have been for her to graduate, he should know very well that it's NOT that easy. Beause when you graduate from Nijisanji, even on good terms, you lose pretty much everything you'Ve been working so har for, right? You lose your name, almost all of your most important work associates, friends (or at least people you consider friends), varying parts of your fanbase, your face...all of your important social media channels and with it your single source of income. Commiting to such a massive change, especially when you're in a bad mental state, is everything BUT easy.
I can imagine how she pondered with the idea for a long time, not wanting to be where she was, but not having the strength to face the repercussions that graduating would have, either. Leaving her in a situation where she would make bad decisions like secretly collecting evidence she vaguely thought might be useful in the future, in some way, any way, because she had to do *something* , right? But betraying her friend's trust in the process. She also focused on her work like crazy, tried to do the best that she could without regards for herself, spending $200k of her own money in the span of a year. Management apparently saw no issue in that. But why would a $2.5 billion company support their talent with anything.
Anyway, on top of that, I do believe that this mentally draining Catch 22 she was in could be an explanation for her constant breaking of rules (maybe we should rather say "breaking of the protocol", really), as well. She couldn't commit to a big step that came with so many downsides, but maybe she thought (possibly not even consciously), that these small acts of rebellion would eventually force a decision she wasn't able to make.
You know, like someone pondering with an attempt who'd then perform increasingly reckless actions in hopes of getting into a lethal accident without ever fully commiting to it. (Yeah I just realized myself how many parallels there are to what she eventually did. Wish she decided differently.)
So. I don't know anything but two sides of a story with almost exclusively hearsay. I was trying to take Vox at face value, and went with the information he gave us. But strangely enough, even then Dokibird still doesn't look like the bad guy. There would be some things she eventually had to justify herself for, yeah. It doesn't paint her as the villain of this story though, the villain it feels like Elire, Vox and Ike try to paint her as.
She rather comes off as a desperate and troubled person backed into a corner with very few people willing to listen to her. By that I mean, really trying to understand her. Instead of dismissing the injustice she saw in NijiENs favoritism, dismissing the controlling and restricting work atmosphere within Nijisanji, dismissing the frustration she must have felt about that. I don't think Vox, Elira, Ike and whoever else supports their statements are neccesarily the bad guys either. I was just trying to point out what Doki may have needed but couldn't get from her supposed friends, but Doki's mental health isn't their responsibility in the end and I don't think it's fair to attribute her attempt to them.
Maybe I'm reaching too much, maybe I'm making up a head canon of epic proportions, but this is mainly an attempt to bring my own thoughts into an order that makes sense.
Because even though there clearly is anger and frustration and an undeniable feeling of beeing betrayed and hurt on both the side of Selen as well as the talents supporting the statements made in Elira's stream and the narrative transported by that, I can't see any side here deliberately beeing malicious. I might be wrong here, and this assertion is purely based on my instinct.
But let's not forget that the root of the problem here is Nijisanji and the working culture within it. Apart from the things we already know, even from what we can just see from the outside and without making assumptions, isn't it kinda messed up that Doki's attack on the company is seen as an attack on every talent in it? Didn't Vox pretty clearly say that, even before her termination, talents got "increasingly frustrated" with her about publicly critizising the company? I'm no psychologist, but I can see how that situation may have caused a lot of additional stress to Doki's already heavy baggage. It seems like NijiEN has successfully created an environment in which failing to pretend that everything is great is not only reprimanded by management, but also other talents on top of that. "I love my work and I wouldn't want to have it any other way" can be assuring, but when it's the only acceptable attitude allowed to be displayed in front of the fans, that's a problem. I can see how Doki perceived that as an oppressive environment akin to bullying andharrassment.
Especially when things are as bad as they are. Doki is far from the only person who directly or inderectly talked about having massive problems with management. But instead of making the people talking about problems...the problems why don't they talk about the actual problems? Why is NijiEn severely underfunded and understaffed? Why does management deceive fans and lie to them? Why do talents need a permission to go and do number 2? Talents are suffering. One tried to take her own life for crying out loud!
You can't brush over that with a "Well yeah but talents can always graduate in Nijisanji" like that settles it and takes every responsibility off them. Vtuber agencies like Nijisanji excert very high levels of control over their talents, they have a lot of power over them. We can talk about the problems with that general concept another time, but it's especially bad when a company fails to support their talents beeing in this situation. And I mean ALL the talents, not just a good chunk of them, for now, until the next one starts to turn problematic "out of the blue".
Guess what 'Im trying to say is: Do better, Nijisanji. Do better. Or maybe, do what you want, I don't care anymore. Maybe I'm ready to move on.
Thanks for reading. Like i said, just trying ot organize my thoughts. Forgive me if my speech is unclear or absurd.

Something that should be made clear about the elira, vox, ike thing: Despite them being actual clowns, its common practice to throw your talents under the bus to save your skin......on the East that is. That stream was a testament to how disconnected Nijj JP truly is from all their side branches. Just solidifies that all of them are negligible and disposable, regardless of what Riku has to say about it.
As for Riku: His was the only "good" video addressing the situation, but that is because it was a textbook corpo apology, directed exclusively to investors. The EN community was not the audience of that response, since they dont trust his words at all and people were there just to find more ammo to use against anycolor.
As for the whole "dont harrass people" angle: This is a tough one, because you should never do it, HOWEVER, reminder that Elira's stream came out COINCIDENTALY as doki was going live and the content of Elira's live can be summarized as:
Elira "Nijj did nothing wrong" Pandora
Vox "I'm the victim here" Akuma
And Ike was just there, probably being held at gunpoint or smth.
We reached the point were is not even morally right to tell someone not to harrass those involved, since Niji; the triple digit company; shows no qualms when it comes to doing so.
If you are going to keep yourself on check, do so for Doki, who clearly wants all this to be over already.

Don't fall for the tricks of the management to throw them under the bus and divert attention away from the faceless masterminds of this shitshow...

To be fair, it is true that this kerfluffle has caused Livers to be harassed, which no one condones.
But Ike sounds like he's speaking for Niji so.... Nijisanji yeaaaaaaah that's not happening. The allegations are not addressed at all.

At this point, I’m willing to give the benefit of the doubt to Selen on the call with Vox.
If they were having a conversation about favoritism and Selen knew that there was going to be issues with Nijisanji if she were to leave one day, it makes sense why she would record a conversation with Vox where he confirms that management does show intentional preferential treatment to him and others in regards to permissions and approval for projects.
There’s a world where it’s a good thing for Selen to protect herself but Vox feels personally hurt. I’ll wait before judging Selen too harshly because we don’t have evidence for that specific issue.
Her channel was "volunteered" as in voluntold from a pre-written statement.
Doki wanted to hide everything and graduate peacefully, she was shot in the back. She came back, and was still WILLINGLY TO MOVE ON focusing on just streaming and Niji decided to shoot at her again despite it backfiring and having a second chance to just let the situation be and recover. What. Are. They. Thinking?!
Selen's troubles started peaking near the start of the year, she sensed something was up and started recording and documenting her conversations in case something bad happened. Something bad happened. I don't think vox being recorded was necessarily wrong. Bad optics? Possibly if it was revealed in ANY OTHER CONTEXT THAN THIS ONE.
Elira: all of these are our own words
Niji En: 🔫😁 good carry on
I will agree to an extent that Selen secretly recording Vox is sus/bad. However if Selen needed proof to showcase some semblance of favoritism or to show proof of bullying, then I think she had very little options. Its not like Vox would agree to having a recording of him showing the favoritism in Niji or god forbid bullying Selen. So if she needed proof, she got some of the best there is.
As for the talents who made this video. They should have shut up and not said a damn thing regardless of how deep their involvement is, but I think we all know they would have done that. There's a good chance they were strongarmed to some extent to making this atrocious garbage. None of us should have ever known what those documents said, they were for both legal teams and Doki only. No one else should have seen those.
At this point, Nijisanji has both feet in the grave. All they have to do now is bury themselves in a mound of dirt.
Wdym, their feet aren't even in the dirt, they are levitating right now because it is their head that is in the grave. They jump head first into the grave and decided to burry their head in the sand.
The CEO's speech actually reminded me about how Japan is still working on them trying to take Mental health seriously. Because, last I hear, they are still in denial of it's existance even with the fact that their suicide rates are known to be high.
" Keep digging the grave, Riku. It's not deep enough ", is what I thought of this situation.

My favorite part is that Elira actually outed herself, Enna, and Millie Parfait as the most likely harassers that have been alluded to not just by Dokibird and Nijisanji themselves, but also by Sayu/Zaion Lanza.
Yes, a legal document accusing someone of wrongdoing will have the names of the people being accused on it. It's kinda how you have to go about these things. Even if she didn't already know, her lawyer likely would've subpoened the records to get the names. The only reason any livers' names would be in a legal document like the one Doki's lawyer would issue is because the court actually requires them. But to those who don't know better, it looks "bad" that it contained "sensitive information"
Elira...girl...you know how she got that info? Nijisanji gave it to her. You know how YOU got the information that she got the information? Nijisanji gave it to you.
This attempt at damage control went so COLOSSALLY bad they actually ended up confirming information people were only slightly suspicious of. It outs Enna, Elira, and Millie as potential harassers, it outs Vox as a bootlicker, and Ike as...not knowing WTF is going on. Seriously why did they have him there? Probably because other livers had better things to do than shill.
It also outs their PR department (EN's PR department, Riku Tazumi's response is boiler plate and not really worth talking about) as incompetent, and their legal team as grossly incompetent to the point I wouldn't be surprised if they got censured over this.
Are you saying this because you think the livers did this willingly. Just curious about some of your wording.
@@psychic_potatothey're saying it implicates elira, enna, and millie as the ones bullying selen. Millie especially since she's defended nijisanji from the black company allegations before
Best case scenario, Elira knowingly outed Enna and Millie on purpose while being held at gunpoint by managment to make that stream, but sadly that is only one of the potential outcomes.
@@psychic_potatoElira said the one section of the documents states the actual address of millie, elira and enna. I dont know why it is there, but tbere is a chance that they are neighbours with selen, so the need to state it in the documents.
Not defending anyone but the reason their names and addresses could be there is for the court to summon them as witnesses. So we have either they knew what was going on and could be vital to the case or they are the reason everything got worst and are still vital to the case.
Hololive and Vshojo should open many spots for new Vtubers at this point.
Its come to a point that the whole Nijisanji EN branch will be gone sooner or later.
They will not recover from this.
Even after EN branch is closed. Their main branch will be suffer the same thing sooner or later despite how secure it is as long they still doing it the same way with their treatments of their talents.
The people behind the talents/the talents don’t deserve this. They don’t deserve being a shield for their company that they are under.
_Well..._
If some of the supposed bullies were talents, then some of them might. But as others have said, we don't know. Focus on the yacht for now. Anything else can be dealt with later.
The real winners are the lawyers like they got a hell of a payday at the end of all this 😂
This week has been so crazy i watched phase connect to chill
Same here
Best corpo for real.
That moment when the sad girl company isn't as crazy as of recently....
"lol 👍" - certain fishman
I am a phase guy cuz of Pippa standing up for Pikamee/Henya. (And I like most of them.) Know Niji B/c of play buttons lost opportunity Pomu, and this bs with Doki. Ironically Lia got to do her Neopets history same time Doki had to stop playing it to talk to her lawyer. Fishman ain't perfect but he seems to try and at least get managers that give a darn about the talents. And spends the whole $150 to youtube to get a copy of the playbuttom, not hord the original
Can't wait to see the receipts of these conversations. (if ever)
Elira sounded like Ai
