@@plstmb6000 this. Nepotism is formed not through competence, it is a connection completely outside of a working space. But "connections" are inside of a working space, so even if you get position/contract despite not being the most competent - you are still suitable for a job.
With nepotism - no one cares, you can be unironically braindead.
And actually - no one gives a F about nepotism until it is hurtful. Almost always nepotism investigations are triggered by person in question being very dumb. "Almost" - because sometimes it is used as a weapon, even when person in question is OK.
I'd argue that there is a difference between a network hire and a nepotism hire, where the former you get someone you know because they are good, and the latter you get someone just because you are friends.
Nijiclique is perfect evidence of nepohire, but network hire can be so advantageous, like the whole Gamers gen in Hololive, plus there is Towa who was already friends with several of the Gamers. There is also Revengehire, with the power of NAAAAAAA.
Nailed it in one 🎯 Network hire favors actual function, nepo is all about the little social club.
Also, I think being open about being a network/nepo hire also helps. Gamers never shy away from admitting that they all got into Hololive because of connections with Fubuki/Mio.

A good way to think of it is Gen 0 is their own project so Sora and A-Chan was basically just doing their thing and not too involved with Hololive as a whole from the very beginning. (Like A-chan wasn’t even an official employee back then during those days)
The first “true” hololive started with Gen 1 so Fubuki taking the reins and handling things makes sense, especially with how small and sketchy Hololive use to be.
It also falls in line with Yagoo’s “ Let them do their thing” attitude, to follow Fubuki’s suggestions.

I think Fubuki ticks both those boxes.

I think it tends more to networking. It's not like Okayu and Korone are anything close to bad streamers, so if you know someone who will provide a boost to your company as well as the person itself, it's always welcome.
(C) Those that are outside the group/clique are professionally given just as fair a shot and professional treatment as those who came in via favor (albeit, without the head start on personal relationships)

Nepotism hires are not inherently bad.
It's only really bad when the hire is incredibly incompetent or replaces a promotion of someone that is competent.
There are good things that come out of nepotism that are good, but I would agree your likelihood of this isn't too high if it's done often.
Nepo is only good if the other procedures are respected. A Nepo recommendation should AT MOST be a strong recommendation about the benefited's being up to task for the position/Job, but the weight of responsibility should also be upheld to whoever made the nepo recommendation (If they hire and months in the hired person causes a major problem, some heavy blame must fall to whoever made the recommendation).
Nepohires only work if the business is small, or there's adequate procedures for such hires (like said above, a nepo hire must put some weight on who made the push to have it happen, so the Nepohire is actually competent instead of a pure nepo)
Nepo hires was and is the natural way to get hired in most places on earth, the biggest problem is as stated the competence of the hire.

Yes! Finally, I'm not the only one who sees Fubuki as the main pillar of Hololive. I've seen how many times she has turn potential disasters for Holo into actual fun content and was able to do good damage control.
Fubuki was by all means what kept Hololive alive in their struggling early days. She was Hololive’s first successful talent outside of Sora, and her immense popularity on Bilibili opened up foreign markets outside of Japan.
That actually reminded me of the time when Marine and Shion had a sleepover and they overslept their scheduled stream by 4 hours and Fubuki jumped on stream to entertain the audience until they woke up. It was a very memeable stream. I just remember Fubu chan calling them hags as she counted how long it would take until they woke up.

Its funny how DN is saying that joining a Corpo is a limitation and that they have to stream alot because they are competing with fellow coworkers but when you look at Hololive most of them don't give a damn about having a set schedule and stream whenever they feel like it. It feels like over half of the members stream around 10 to 15 times a month. They are living the good life. Gura literally streams whenever she feels like it being like once or twice times per month. If lucky mabey 3 times.
I still wonder what the actual reason the niji concert was cancelled back then. Their momentum was so strong. Today they lost some popular livers and drowned in scandals.
Them terminated Zaion was the start of their downwards spiral. Selen's termination was the last straw.
Zaion was the first Major crack, one most misjudged as being a minor one.
But 2023 from the start (Perhaps December of 2022 even) was when constant Yabs piled up at a speed that SHOULD have worried anyone doing Content related to Vtubing industry (News, Internet Historians and Documentary type videos), because you don't get nonstop Yabs coming left right and center to dogpile on one specific group or Business without it needing preventive eyes analyzing the trends of said Yabs.
Selen/Doki was more Niji painting themselves in a corner, with their own Minefield instead of paint, and then when the Doki situation came knocking, the only way out was gamble on walking through that very minefield knowing full well that the moment they trigger one landmine, a whole ass chain of them will detonate in sequence, and then they roll a Nat 1 on the very first step.
Zaion was the crack that began causing the pressure to damage the Niji EN central Pillar, Doki was Niji themselves setting off demolition charges on said Pillar in the belief that all it would do is remove a rotten or severely damage auxiliary pillar.

I’d say the first crack came from Yugo’s graduation which happened three months prior to Zaion’s termination.
Their reason back then is covid. Their reason is stupid because of the fact that it's prerecorded. The most likely reason is because it's not very good(the screenshots are hilariously bad).
They released it now because it's a desperation move to make the Q4 financial report look good. Remember that it was their Q3 report that tanked their stocks. Q4 is when the back to back scandals happened that further tanked all earnings of the EN branch.

This time it was not intentional, Gura didn't even schedule the stream, she just posted on X that it was fish time. I honestly think that Gura wouldn't bother herself with Nijisanji, she just wants to do her thing. The ones that maybe have some hate against NijiEN are Kiara and Mumei, but even then I don't think that's the case.

Actually Mio wasn't scouted by Fubuki, she simply heard what Fubuki did and applied herself and when Management heard that Mio was a "gamer" they created Holo Gamers, Ultimately having nothing to do with Fubuki other than that Fubuki got roped into it.
Nah, FBK literally scouted her. (well, noone knows the true story wether Mio asked FBK to scout her, or FBK herself decided to scout Mio, but technically speaking as talent and employee, FBK was the one who scouted her into the company)
Then FBK pitched the idea to create Gamers cuz Mio can't join the already established gen 2.

I think it was Mio who scouted Korone, who then brought in Okayu because the two are close (obviously). Hence why Korone said that she was really nervous when she met Fubuki for the first time (source: recent stream/interview with Subaru)

I think that is a misinterpitation of the contract here. The way I read it, is that if the company provided you with anything like a work phone for face cap (remember, the best facial recognition tech commercially available to day is attached to an Iphone).
Also, I believe that Doki said it on her debut, but the reason she needed to dig out her old PC was to recover her stream assets, as she did not transfer them over when she upgraded her rig.

Ye, I want to add more context at 12:00, I use a 3d model that came fully rigged, and it's customizable including importing other clothing and hair assets. It's from VRoid Studio, it's free. An average 3d modeler could make their unique clothing and hair in a few days per person. Another day or two to rig hair movement in Blender and Unity (both of which are free for individuals/contractors which this modeler undoubtedly would be) and you have a 3d model in under a week.

Going to be honest. Besides Selen, Rosemi, Mika and Pomu I didn't watch much of Nijisanji. Well actually I watched alittle of Shu too but really that was it. None of the other members really interested me in EN and some of their banter felt forced at times.

For Hologamers, it happened because of Mio audition. Fubuki and Mio is friends in RL, school friends if i'm not mistaken, she is interested to join Holo like Fubuki so she come and took the audition. But she to late to join generation before gamers therefore Yagoo choose to make new generation called Gamers, in Mio-sha word she think Yagoo misunderstand her statement during her audition as she said "like playing game" to 'good at playing game' and back then Cover or Holo is still very small company or agency and everything is still loose including recruitment. Fubuki or Mio-sha then meet Okayu in game center and recruit her then she recommended her friend Korone to join with her so Hologamers is born. i think Korone (with Okayu not sure) is the only member who not go to formal audition after Sora in Holo.
Korone literally was made a member without even applying. I don't think she has ever met or talked with Yagoo before either but her addition is probably the best decision they ever made. Such a legendary streamer she has become. Stamina, Charisma, sense of humor and her creativity is breathtaking.
So if i understand it right, was hololive more a sponsor to Tokino Sora originally?

Nousagi when you were speaking about Fubuki I think the word you need is consigliere. It’s a mafia term for a trusted long serving lieutenant that keeps things smooth between the upper and lower ranks. They are someone that knows everyone and makes it their job to keep the top and the bottom in touch and happy.

For your last statement, gen 3 generally tries to stay out of each other stream schedule. I think it's 1 hour after another started? This is not an absolute rule obviously, and there are also times where the schedule can't just be moved. This is especially true for pekora and marine. They both have postponed the start of their stream just because the other is still streaming. Marine once expressed her disappointment that she have a sponsored stream at the same time of pekora's special stream, and she wishes she could start of her stream a bit later(unfortunately it couldn't happen).

Only 2 out of the graduated NijiID Livers went on to reincarnate into Agency Vtubers: Azura Cecelia (now Lethe Bonapuchi of Production Kawaii's Ephemira Grouping, debuted on 2 March 2024) and the more well-known Mika Melatika (now Michi Mochievee of VShojo), both becoming the new agencies' first Indonesian-fluent representatives.

Events are loss-leaders. They serve as big marketing campaigns so that the brand generates revenue through other means. The events themselves usually don't profit, and more often run at a loss so that other revenue streams can go up. It's the rotisserie chicken of the entertainment business

Trying to not sperg in comments but saw a chatter mention 3D predated 2D and I love that guy because he's right and more people need to remember that AI did livestreaming in 3D years ago, vtubers all were 3D by default pre-Niji, and "3D is hard uwu" is 100% Niji copium to hide the fact they pushed 2D to be able to pump and dump talents like a proper black company. Hololive started in 3D and went 2D to remain competitive. Also an awful excuse when we had the EyeToy in the PS2 era so we've had 20 years of full-body tracking development at this point, Niji literally set back vtubing tech two god damned decades to be cheap and awful.

You can't earn money from events if you never have events. It takes time for events to get popular so you need to do them even if you don't earn a lot initially if you want to eventually make a profit from them.
