For my 2005 Tundra (Gen 1), the process was slightly different. With the key in the ignition, turn to “On”. Then delete the old codes in the car by press and holding the 1 dot and 3 dot buttons until the home link button flashes rapidly (around 20 secs). Then follow the steps in the video. Hope that helps
The garage door opener needs to learn that your vehicle’s button is a new opener. You’ll still need to pair the vehicle with the garage door opener once you get home.

What did you do exactly on the opener itself. Press and release learn button, press and hold or press more than once?
Openers may be different. I have the genie powerlift 900 opener. It required 2 presses of the "program/set" button.
Do you you have to be by the door the remote belongs to? Or can i do this like at work
