Do I hit it unlock or lock first

I have to push the tailgate and pull the handle to get it to open....is that an indication of a faulty clip? When the tailgate is open, and I push the latch on each side to simulate the tailgate being shut, I can pull the handle and both latches open.....I'm wondering if it's an alignment issue on the right side where the latch strikes the bracket but it's not releasing?

Very helpful visual for those with the 05-06 Tundra with the 'Secondary Air Injection System.' I stopped today at the point where I need to get access to the starter bolts but can't quite reach and seeing how you unbolted it all to get it out of the way is a big help. 👍

Holy cow, i have this exact issue, and wondering how to diagnose the odd leak path between the rear of the engine and the transmission. Oddly enough the leak only happens when the engine is cold and not running. Stops leaking after a few min during warm up!

Thank you for the great video, worked like a charm and was straight to the point. * Bonus tip, after you cycle the door switches both times and go to put the key into the ignition, in the video he turned it from lock to on once and then took the key out. This puts the truck into add a key mode. If you cycle it from lock to on, and then lock to on again and then take the key out, it puts it into rewrite mode. Rewrite mode clears all the previous remotes, which is helpful because my truck didn't come with any remotes and the truck only lets you have a maximum of 4 remotes at one time. So I was able to clear the old remotes and add two new remotes. After you add your first remote like shown in the video, hold both buttons then hold a single button - the locks cycle, then you do the same thing with the second remote, hold both buttons then a single button. Now you should have two working remotes. This is described in the factory service manual under Body Electrical page 155 (BE-155) - Wireless Door Lock Control System (Double Cab) I ordered my remotes off amazon (Keyless2Go Replacement for New Keyless Entry Remote Car Key Fob 3 Button FCC HYQ12BBX HYQ12BAN) Not sure about any of the frequency ID's or any of that, mine didn't come with any to match with but these happened to work for me. 2006 Tundra Double Cab Limited. Would this fix a no fuel pressure problem? I have good fuel pump circuit, relay, ground, EFI fuse relay, good Resistor, 13.7 at the ECM now I’m thinking Crank Sensor and someone pointed to the security system to me too. Gonna try it on Monday when I get to the shop, thanks for the video!

Oof! I think this maybe my issue. I recently took it to a shop and they said it seems like I need a new radiator so I had them put one in and still leak! I'm not wealthy enough to keep having the wrong things replaced!

Do you have a link to the key fob? I've been searching everywhere and nobody has it and when I find out it doesn't program. can't find one that works. I have an 06 tundra double cab limited 4.7 v8

Dumass who designed that must be Japanese

My exhaust is blowing white smoke at start up and coolant level is low.....obviously coolant. I have no visible leaks underneath or in the engine. Compression test looked good. Would this be a cause?
