Like the new set up, maybe crop out slightly more - it feels a little too closely cropped. But this is a welcome improvement & the background is pretty cool!

1.The Audio is better balanced between the 3...good job!
2. I keep waiting for them to show some kind of Halftime NFL replay recap or something.
3. Yes I like the facing each other format...and I don't mind the background at all.
4. I think Joe you need one more camera angle, you have the solo shot of you, you have the shot of those other 2...now you need a shot with all 3 of you. The entire video feels a little disconnected having a conversation hard cut back and forth between those 2 camera shots only .
I gotta agree with Alex and Other Joe here. This movie has a Tarrantinoesque crime noir build up that grabs the attention of the patient viewer. ADD Angry Joe is too restless for that and I get that too. But like all three guys say is that the payoff could have been better. The whole Cris Helsmworth story seems out of place and drags the movie down to the mud. It doesn't ruin the movie but it goes from a great movie to a good move. From a 4 out of 5 to a 3 out 5. Otherwise this is a solid movie if your into the crime noir genre and want a Tarrantino like movie that is more constrained and less posing.
I agree, I loved the movie personally. But I totally agree that Chris's character Billy Lee felt kind absolutely out of place. It almost ruined the movie for me. Its not that he was a bad actor or anything, it just felt hamfisted in there? It really didn't flow well with the rest of the script.
I agree. I don’t really like how Rosie and Billy Lee was written (I don’t know why but it felt so stereotypical and cliched, it doesn’t seem genuine). I was also a bit disappointed that the payoff focuses on a character that was not in the picture for the 2/3 of the movie, I feel like they should’ve gone with the existing characters and just create a conspiracy storyline from there.
I agree, it was weird. There was all this setup, these vague bits in the flash backs that you feel are going to pay off and be elucidated, but it never really comes together?

[ ALSO SPOILERS ] I would agree with you all , for me this movie 8 out of 10 ( due to soundtrack, casting , acting and cinematography ) but that scene with the confirmed “ 123 “ confirmed kill count from the Vietnam vet bus boy ( I forgot his name the guy who worked behind the counter of the hotel ) along with the massacre that followed bumped it up to an easy 9 even the movie just didn’t deserve an action scene that was that awesome but it had it anyway, which is why it has a higher rating for me personally.
This is a great new format. Please keep it, but I hope your video game reviews still keep the classic style.

Fully agreed! I was about to say the same! We still want to see them interact but all on camera. The close ups and cuts from one to another take away the buddy chemistry we are used to see with them. We dont see Joe reacting to his team or viceversa.
If they had a 3rd camera too they could cut to that overall zoomed out angle once in awhile as well. I think it's be a good addition and you see it a lot in production with stuff like this work very well. Standard 3 camera coverage ;)

Yeah I much prefer them around a table, just needs a little tweaking with the main camera for all three in focus, with other cameras doing a split like this. Definitely another step in the right direction !

I liked the movie. The only thing is it could have been a GREAT movie rather than a pretty good movie if the second half wasn't taken over by the cult sisters plotline. I felt the movie was steadily building up to something only for the cult leader to take over the climax which was kind of weak imo. I agree it could have been better if the upper management people came in or something like that. Love the new format btw! Keep up the great work guys!

New setup is so much better. I was forced to watch the trailer for this movie as it was played at the cinema when I went to watch venom so some of it is spoilt, might go see it anyway
Set up a 3rd camera so you can have a shot with all 3 of you in the same frame. The constant switching with these 2 angels is just annoying.
The background reminds me of 2010 JoeShow. Great times.
I do enjoy watching you guys facing the camera and usually getting upset it’s funny and I like to see the reactions of what someone says, usually Alex when he laughs at joe for liking something atrocious, but I do appreciate that your trying something different, I think it works

I love this new setup so much! But there is still one more suggestion I would like to give. I really wish that the final verdict that is displayed at the end, was an actual average of your three verdicts and not just yours, I think it makes it more accurate overall and makes OJ and Alex feel more important.

Very nice change, far more professional looking and much better flow. Maybe one more camera could be good in order to capture a wide shot of all 3 people once in a while, just to give the visuals more variety.

I'm starting to like this Set-up. I think it's a great idea to have Multiple People in a Review because it gives you a better understanding of the Experience. For Example, Last Night on Twitch, AJ, Delrith, & OJ was playing some Zombies on Black Ops 4. Joe, was dreading through the thing while Del & OJ was enjoying it. So it gives you different Experiences from different people without wasting 2 minutes to watch a fake ass IGN review. I don't know, what do you guys think?

Bad Times at the The Royale. Great title for a film not redundant at all.
I dig this new format. I cpuld go back and forth between the two formats. My constructive criticisms; 1. Perhaps get a few shots of everyone in frame. 2. Pull back a little on AJ camera. 3. The AJ camera seems to be a noticeably lesser quality, or maybe bad lighting. Perhaps tweak that a bit.

Even though I really liked it my biggest problem was some of the pacing and editing. I personally feel that some scenes cut have been cut much shorter yet at the same time I wish some scenes were a bit longer to better clarify or expand on some characterizations. Top notch performances all around and Hemsworth was genuinely intimidating. My other biggest complaint was Miles' final flashback as it kinda messed with the flow of the final act, like I personally feel that his backstory should have been teased much sooner with a final realization of who he truly is instead of just dumping everything in one scene

I enjoyed it - very tarantino-esque. Things I didn't like was I expected a few more twists (like they are all related in some way) and the hotel brought them together. I also thought jon hamms character was totally pointless (it didnt even need to be him). The whole FBI thing just fell flat. I would've like to see more Darlene's backstory, what made her go solo etc.

Really like this style of review Joe! Would like to recommend you check out Bobby Lee's podcast TigerBelly and possibly take a little inspiration from the set up they follow where you can see everyone on screen with a sort of split screen multi-cam view. That could make this even better!

Okay, something is really bothering me. Your guests sit in front of a cinema auditorium whose seats are raked \ but AngryJoe background is / this is going to nag me over time as there is no cinema screen geographically implied here. It is actually in between both of you and you would not be able to see each other.

Not gonna watch the spoilers. From what I've seen, tgus movue reminds me of Identity. If it turns out all these characters are different personalities within one person's mind... I would be a little pissed.

Damn I like this set up, it feels like much more of a personal critical conversation. The only downside is not seeing everyones reaction to everything they're saying but that's not a big deal and the positives far outweigh that.

You guys should see MFKZ on Oct16. Saw it at the first screening and it's such a crazy entertaining, but criminally underrated animated film.

Quality change, I loved it regardless as always, but it's nice to see more of a professional feel, especially the voice of everyone is clear, unlike the one Mike that had left and right a bit less loud because of distance
The new setup is a good step. However, to really tie everything together, you need a third camera for doing the wide shot with all 3 of you on screen at the same time. Doing only shot reverse shot makes you feel too separate.
I will say. This works for your movie reviews. However, that Assassins Creed review, no. Keep it to the default format. It works better.
Its kinda like an average and decent Tarantino/Guy Ritchie knock off film. 7/10
I loved this film Drew Goddard is such a talented writer and director Cabin in the Woods is phenomenal and this was no slouch hopefully we don't have to wait 9 years for his next film.
The Hateful Eight, Eight Heads in a Duffel Bag are just some along this line. It's cinematically pretty beautiful, with to twists and turns of a good dramatic yarn being unraveled. I feel I've seen this plotline done before more or less, but the spin on this one was satisfying and pleasing. On top on that the writers knew the importance of a iconic character such as Jeff Bridges. They didn't cross the line and do him dirty. You just don't murder "The Dude". Ever! In anything! The Dude Abides!
I like the set up. You guys being able to see each other sitting across from one another really seemed to make a difference with letting each other talk, it was cool good stuff guys love you’re show
I loved the movie but felt it was dragging just a bit too much toward the end. I think they could have cut it down to about 2 hours just by making things a little tighter. I know it was done purposefully, it just didn't work for me so much. Great writing, acting, cinematography, music, production design, and Jeff Bridge's performance, in particular, hit me hard. It felt like a mashup of Vacancy and The Hateful Eight.
But it can't have been JFK in the video because he died in Nov 1963 and the US entered the Vietnam War in March 1965, and Miles (the hotel employee) had already returned from the war and been working at the hotel for a while when he met the subject of the video who was nice to him but had died since. Maybe Bobby Kennedy??!! He died in 1968 and this film takes place in 1969 I think, so that would fit.
I must say I didn't laugh as much in the review, I understand that AJ interrupted a-lot the location was cramped and it has to be a very realistic review but there are a few things I don't in the like in the new style.
How you guys don't go a a rant together SIDE BY SIDE (no Bold font on Mobil) that always use to makes me laugh.
The constent camera change between AJ and the others seem silly when it transitions sometimes every few seconds
while I like the nice background I preferred the idea of movie footage in the background
Lastly I don't know about AJ Mike look it looks weird.
This movie reminds me of The Hateful Eight and weirdly enough, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (although it’s still in production) since Hemsworth’s character is clearly inspired by Charles Manson/Jim Jones but more to Manson because he got that hippie aesthetic going on. I don’t mind the pacing at all, I didn’t even realise that it’s two and a half hour long until I look at my phone outside the theatre. Definitely getting this in bluray.
This format makes Alex and OJ have a lot easier time contributing smoothly to these videos. Although one recommendation, it'd be nice to have a general 3rd camera/camera angle to show all 3 of you at once talking to each other over the table *every once in awhile.* Sometimes you don't want ONLY one side cropped, but a overall view too. It's part of standard production, if you're taking this show to new professional and production quality heights ;)
I like the new format, but we are already in WIDE-SCREEN era, specially to avoid several angle changes, which for me is the thing to improve because, for example, when Joe shares his opinion, i cannot see OJ and Alex reactions, and that's what i like the most, they way the other guys react to someones opinion... so, i like the new way, but i will leave the show with only one camera shoot ! Thanks man !
Cynthia Erivo was Darlene. Great performance. I read that she sang live during the filming of most scenes. Looking forward to her in Widows!

You seem to be having a script for your interview-style approach. That is good.
I suggest adapting the script to have a certain flow - right now your questions sound slightly robotic, but I'm sure that'll come in time.

Like the new set. Would also like an occasional 3 person shot. Smart not having clips as the 'bot at You Tube has been pulling lots other shows with copyright claims. This movie was INTENSE. Not something that I will see multiple times, but very very well-acted.

I like this format, gives it a more conversational feel instead of talking to an audience. Although it does feel a little too much like an interview rather than a group discussion, maybe give Alex/OJ some questions to ask; Joe still hogs the spotlight as usual. Other people have already suggested a 3rd camera of a wide shot with all 3 of you, this would definitely help. Maybe moving Alex/OJ further apart might help break the interview vibe. I wasn't too sure about the timing of the trailers being overlayed over of the conversation, it kinda broke the immersion a little bit, it needs trailers so it doesn't get too boring but I can't think of anywhere to put them
Honestly I still feel like this new focus on movie reviews comes across as low-effort and lazy. Relatively speaking of course - obviously effort goes into making these videos and editing them. It just feels like Joe's cashing in on his subscriber base (which he built up with years of great content) making this type of stuff which probably gives him a decent return for low effort.
New format is way more engaging. Im not even interested in the film or the review but the way its shot makes me wanna watch, good job!
Interrupt? It's a discussion or more likely a debate when there are different opinions on the table. And debating is all about dominance and validity of arguments / opinions.
If the others just let you walls all over them, it's not your fault, they're just verbally weak.
That or they're afraid of stealing your thunder drawing away attention from you the host and channel owner.
Which can cause some pretty awkwardness within the friendship relation that you guys have.
I often wonder how well your friendships work when you're also working together to provide your content.
Seems like a big risk, I wouldn't imagine having to share my work space with my friends would be good thing for me and my friends.
No, the only thing that got to my attention is that their audio was muffled most of the time, making your voice the more heard.
If this was done intentionally during editing, I have no idea.
Or that the microphones you were using before the headsets you're using now were just bad, who knows.
