The fact that child support can range from a few hundred dollars to hundreds of thousands is really a testament to how bad the legal system is and especially how terrible it is to fathers in situations like this
I think the worst part about these kinds of people is that they take away the actual power that people who are actually struggling and need the financial assistance from a partner who hasn't been there to raise that child And make them assume out to be just money hungry losers which that sometimes is not the case my mom has raised me from a baby to 18 and my father was never there that was his choice but he decided to be a scumbag and try and fight off the child support for that Eve my mom never even asked for She only started to even ask for it after he tried to do some shady stuff towards not having to even be in my life

I have thought this is a good idea for a while now. Expenses for clothing, food, medical costs activities and possibly a portion of the housing or utilities in a pinch. Non custodial parents should be able to show their receipts if a family court judge thinks it is necessary. My mom barely got any financial support from our father after he left. We had to meet NEEDS. There was no question of my mom not working while we were in school.

I’m so happy my dad got full custody over 20 years ago. My “mother” didn’t wanna stick around or work and she even showed up to court in a mini skirt. She had the nerve to claim my father was abusive and dangerous and that’s why she fled to here friends house. “So where were the kids while you were over there?” Asked the judge. “Oh, with the father.” Said she. Idiot woman. Skipped out on child support and eventually signed over her rights. Haven’t seen her since the one visit when I was like 4 or something. I don’t even know the woman and that was _her_ choice. Her choice not to know us.
That is not a mother...just a genetic donor. It was the same with my father, man has contacted me under 5 times my entire life (im 46)and lived less than an hour away...his choice. So when the situation came and I got full custody of my daughter I didn't hesitate one second. Now luckily her mother got her Ish straight and they have a great relationship now, but all you can do is strive to be everything she wasn't in your own life. Just remember, everything happens for a reason and Karma is one heluva mean beyatch!
My son's mother did the same. We fought for full custody (his father and myself after a year of being together) and won after 3 yrs of court. We still offered visitation even after we got full custody and she was stripped of all her rights. She saw my son once, then flaked for the 2nd visit and we revoked visits if she was going to cancel/flake. She hasn't called or seen him since and it's been 6yrs that we've had full custody. I have helped raise him since he was 5yrs old and I'm mom. I've been here day in and day out and I'll continue to be in his life until I die. I have no idea how any mother can abandon their child, and since infertile my son is our only child. I am beyond grateful I met his dad and was blessed with the responsibility to raise my son and be in his life.

Being a stay-at-home mom is fine if your kids are under the age of 6; but if they're old enough to be in school, then it's not really work. You can't possibly do 6 hrs of housework every single day. We have machines that will do the dishes, do the laundry, vacuum up all the dirt, etc.
As a kid of divorced parents I'm glad mine has actual functioning brains and my mom got a job instantly after getting a divorce (btw she also did win the lawsuit) and she also let me see my dad any time I want and I go to whoevers I feel like going and I've always been happy and they also have a friendly relationship even after the divorce. And I personally think that this is how parents should be when they don't like their marriage or anything else in their relationship (that has to do with them wanting to get a divorce)

I was granted full custody of both my daughters. Xwife was supposed to pay child support, she was unemployed. And hers was set at $10 per week. I never seen a dime. The kids where smart enough to see this and they cut her off from visiting.

I think instead of child support (just paid in cash) the support should be actual items/services paid for... portion of rent, grocery delivery once a week, doctor appointments... to equal a certain amount per month.
The problem is exactly what you just said... The current systems are there "to protect mum's"... It should be there to protect the child, first and foremost, and then BOTH parents. There's nothing more infuriating than paying thousands of pounds a year in child support only to pick up your child in tatty old shoes and clothes whilst their Mum has just had a tattoo sleeve finished or is off on holiday with her mates... I live in the state of TN and here if you are a mothers and your child is over the age of 3, you are required to have a job. Any job, otherwise, no child support. This woman is insane. I worked my butt off when my ex didn't pay me a dime and I didn't care. My babies needed daycare, a home, food and everything else. Women like this give women like single mothers a bad name. My current husband respected the fact that I put my children first and I sacrificed everything for them. 18 years later, we are now married, he adopted my children and we have a child together.

She did get a raise. It went from 600$ to 1,063. It would have been 1,173 but the judge took the 110$ dollars off for the insurance coverage on the child. I don’t know how much she was wanting or expecting but wasn’t impressed with her 400$ raise. I can’t even imagine what that child has to go through with her as a mom. When I was about 20 I had my daughter five days a week and five nights a week and yet I was forced to pay $400 a month in child support which I eventually fought back and I won the case but I guess they forgot to put it in the system so after the next two months weren't paid (because I wasn't supposed to pay it ) they took my tax return and gave it to her and when I went to them and said I want my money back they said sorry sir you'll have to sue her directly. which as most people know suing a person and not a corporation means you're never going to see that money

everybody fills out a financial statement at the time of a divorce. non-custodial parents are only ordered to pay their share. there is usually a baseline income that they are allowed to keep but often it isnt much. divorce is life changing and can be a financial ruin for both parties. learn to live on ur income. single mothers do it all the time. cant afford an apartment? rent a room. cant afford a room? get a second job. a friend of mine worked THREE jobs to support her kids. she was the custodial parent. she didnt cop out and go homeless. no sympathy.

The jury is different from the Judge. She would’ve probably done something, but the jury is a different entity that in the end makes the decision, and clearly they have some serious bias.

I have thought this is a good idea for a while now. Expenses for clothing, food, medical costs activities and possibly a portion of the housing or utilities in a pinch. Non custodial parents should be able to show their receipts if a family court judge thinks it is necessary. My mom barely got any financial support from our father after he left. We had to meet NEEDS. There was no question of my mom not working while we were in school.

I’m so happy my dad got full custody over 20 years ago. My “mother” didn’t wanna stick around or work and she even showed up to court in a mini skirt. She had the nerve to claim my father was abusive and dangerous and that’s why she fled to here friends house. “So where were the kids while you were over there?” Asked the judge. “Oh, with the father.” Said she.
Idiot woman. Skipped out on child support and eventually signed over her rights. Haven’t seen her since the one visit when I was like 4 or something. I don’t even know the woman and that was _her_ choice. Her choice not to know us.
That is not a mother...just a genetic donor. It was the same with my father, man has contacted me under 5 times my entire life (im 46)and lived less than an hour away...his choice. So when the situation came and I got full custody of my daughter I didn't hesitate one second. Now luckily her mother got her Ish straight and they have a great relationship now, but all you can do is strive to be everything she wasn't in your own life. Just remember, everything happens for a reason and Karma is one heluva mean beyatch!
My son's mother did the same. We fought for full custody (his father and myself after a year of being together) and won after 3 yrs of court. We still offered visitation even after we got full custody and she was stripped of all her rights. She saw my son once, then flaked for the 2nd visit and we revoked visits if she was going to cancel/flake. She hasn't called or seen him since and it's been 6yrs that we've had full custody. I have helped raise him since he was 5yrs old and I'm mom. I've been here day in and day out and I'll continue to be in his life until I die. I have no idea how any mother can abandon their child, and since infertile my son is our only child. I am beyond grateful I met his dad and was blessed with the responsibility to raise my son and be in his life.

Being a stay-at-home mom is fine if your kids are under the age of 6; but if they're old enough to be in school, then it's not really work. You can't possibly do 6 hrs of housework every single day. We have machines that will do the dishes, do the laundry, vacuum up all the dirt, etc.
If you don’t make money, you don’t get paid anything. That’s how it should be.
As a kid of divorced parents I'm glad mine has actual functioning brains and my mom got a job instantly after getting a divorce (btw she also did win the lawsuit) and she also let me see my dad any time I want and I go to whoevers I feel like going and I've always been happy and they also have a friendly relationship even after the divorce. And I personally think that this is how parents should be when they don't like their marriage or anything else in their relationship (that has to do with them wanting to get a divorce)

The problem is exactly what you just said... The current systems are there "to protect mum's"... It should be there to protect the child, first and foremost, and then BOTH parents. There's nothing more infuriating than paying thousands of pounds a year in child support only to pick up your child in tatty old shoes and clothes whilst their Mum has just had a tattoo sleeve finished or is off on holiday with her mates... It cuts both ways.

I live in the state of TN and here if you are a mothers and your child is over the age of 3, you are required to have a job. Any job, otherwise, no child support. This woman is insane. I worked my butt off when my ex didn't pay me a dime and I didn't care. My babies needed daycare, a home, food and everything else. Women like this give women like single mothers a bad name. My current husband respected the fact that I put my children first and I sacrificed everything for them. 18 years later, we are now married, he adopted my children and we have a child together.
This makes me upset since my mother doesn't get any child support and we actually need it

But yeah, the system encourages people like this to spit out kids at a rapid rate so they can live off the system and their ex but... She did get a raise. It went from 600$ to 1,063. It would have been 1,173 but the judge took the 110$ dollars off for the insurance coverage on the child. I don’t know how much she was wanting or expecting but wasn’t impressed with her 400$ raise. I can’t even imagine what that child has to go through with her as a mom. Maybe the grandmother is a good person and watches out for him. This woman just sickens me 🤬🤬

When I was about 20 I had my daughter five days a week and five nights a week and yet I was forced to pay $400 a month in child support which I eventually fought back and I won the case but I guess they forgot to put it in the system so after the next two months weren't paid (because I wasn't supposed to pay it ) they took my tax return and gave it to her and when I went to them and said I want my money back they said sorry sir you'll have to sue her directly. which as most people know suing a person and not a corporation means you're never going to see that money

File a civil claim in small claims court you'll get it back if you got the paperwork or they'll keep her income tax check
my mom used to volunteer at a soup kitchen many years back, and so many homeless men there were there because they literally couldn't afford a living due to ridiculous child support payments.
it's really depressing.
everybody fills out a financial statement at the time of a divorce. non-custodial parents are only ordered to pay their share. there is usually a baseline income that they are allowed to keep but often it isnt much. divorce is life changing and can be a financial ruin for both parties. learn to live on ur income. single mothers do it all the time. cant afford an apartment? rent a room. cant afford a room? get a second job. a friend of mine worked THREE jobs to support her kids. she was the custodial parent. she didnt cop out and go homeless. no sympathy.
Some people can't work three jobs due to health, age, other issues etc.

If your hours are reduced or you loose your job and have to get a lower paying job, your child support is not reduced. How many men lost their jobs during the pandemic. If you do not make your payments men can end up in prison.
@@andrewfoster13 your ignorance is what's amazing. your statement is totally untrue. any time the income of either parent significantly changes it is possible to ask for a change in child support and get it. either parent can file for a change. men arent the only ones who lose their job. this is not about men vs women; it's about being responsible for ur children. there is no need to take sides. the court has guidelines re child support that apply equally to both sexes. if ur situation has changed u need to stop being a victim and get a better lawyer.
