This is BYD Super Intelligent factory in Zhengzhou, China.
This is the production process of the BYD Shark. The BYD Shark is a plug-in hybrid mid-size pickup truck manufactured by BYD Auto since 2024.
Currently in production is the first phase of BYD's Zhengzhou base, with a planned annual capacity of 400,000 vehicles
The vehicle debuted in Mexico in May 2024 as the first light utility vehicle model made by BYD.
It is based on a body-on-frame chassis with a Dual Mode Off-Road hybrid drivetrain.
The claimed zero to one hundred kilometers per hour acceleration time is 5.7 seconds, and the fuel consumption is claimed to be 8 liters per one hundred kilometers. It has a towing capacity of 2,500 kg, an 835 kg payload and 1,450 L cargo volume.
The Mexican market BYD Shark will be available in two trim levels, namely GL and GS.
BYD will build its first European passenger car factory in Szeged, Hungary, which will build new energy vehicles with an annual capacity of over 100,000 vehicles. The plan was announced in December 2023. It is the first Chinese manufacturer to plan a European factory.
The BYD Shark can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 5.7 seconds, with an NEDC battery range of 100 kilometers and a combined range of 840 kilometers.
The BYD Shark pickup measures 5,457 mm in length, 1,971 mm in width and 1,925 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,260 mm.
It is powered by dual motors, with the front motor producing 170 kW of power and 310 Nm of torque, and the rear motor producing 150 kW of power and 340 Nm of torque.
