I guess it's because 9 is the centre number on the field bets. You'll also hear them say no-field 5, because 5 and 9 sound quite similar, so it's a good way to be clear and distinct. Same reason you'll hear the stickman call yo-leven instead of just 11, because 7 and 11 sound similar. The other reason they might add little quips and flairs is to make the game less boring (it's certainly more fun than just calling out the number directly), keep the players engaged, and get better tips.
The stick man's quip and commentary styling is similar to an auctioneer's jargon. It is interesting to note the differences and similarities. Also, it helps because the players at the opposite end of the table can often not see the dots on the dice clearly, especially when the chip stacks get high!
Around the 10:45 mark you said you have to pay a vig. You don’t have to payba vig on the four and 10 if it’s a place bet. You only pay the vig buying the 4 or 10. She can just place the five dollars down on the 4 or 10. It’ll pay 9-5
True, but you don't win as much money. Without any rounding, buying the 4 or 10 for $5 would pay $9.75 ($10 minus a $0.25 commission) instead of just $9.
You did not talk about the "BUY" and "LAY" options; also you did not mention the "WIN" and the "LOSE" options where you bet the same way as a place bet but the reverse. Please explain all this in a video because I have no idea about their pay offs. 🙏🏻
It's a scam to entice new players to play the field. Watch the new players play the field, and they'll put the chips directly on the 2 or 12. The same 2/12 bet pays 30-1 on the horn.

When you place the 5 or 9 for $15.00 bet you have THREE $5.00 bets that pay 7/5 on EACH BET total win is $21.00 7 +7+7=$21.00 Your return % is 133.33% on your pass line/come bet and 140% return on your place bet. It is even bigger on the 4 & 10 Bet $5.00 with $10 odds ( total bet is $15.00) Only pays $5.00 EVEN money on the first bet and $20 on your odds. You say, "Here's a tip for the dealers" and drop it in the Come area.
Another option is to make a bet for the dealers, that way if your bet for the dealers, they get the winnings for that bet.
