For anyone just now watching this go swordfighter if your new. If you get the interception mastery perk you can just hit O/B to soul shield every attack and never have to worry about being hit. Ive used it as a crutch to get passed bosses I struggled with many times
The combat system is 2x worse than nioh, its anoying at best. It looks like it wasnt tested. Fighting vs 4+ enemies just has you runing in circles for 5+ min to attack once, bosses have 4 attacks that you must learn by hart ( not just to dodge or block but side to which to do so and what skill to use just after). That is why it never caught on.
@@dantevalenti3867 nah, it was the abysmal level design, the fact the game looks like it's 10 years old, and the story is crap. Running around for 5+ minutes waiting to attack? I can honestly say that never happened to me once, and I finished the game on hard. The boss design I felt was quite good. It reminded me of the way I had to fight bosses in ds3 and sekiro. You actually have to learn the moveset and get good at the fight. That's a plus to me.
@@YeOldeMachina have you seen it on ps5? I think the level design and graphics are breathtaking at times. Story was kinda goofy but it gave me a sense of nostalgia because the old 16 bit RPG’s always had simple silly storylines and dialogue and this is supposed to be a loose remake of FF1.
I went with Paladin/White Mage defense combo and I was unstoppable but I’d recommend just using ability commands from other classes and focusing offense
Poogleist? Oh my, I got a decent giggle out of that pronunciation. 🤣🤣 Fun guide, thanks for this! Gives me a better idea if I'm going to like the game well enough to grab it here soon! Classes and skills are always a big thing that usually gets buried away deep inside let's plays.
The Gun is an interesting weapon (in the DLC). You attack with decent speed from a great range, keeping Jack safer and sometimes being able to hit enemies without them turning to attack (good AI bug) while also tracking and crippling those flying jerks for quick Soul Breaks. Of course, you deal lower damage per hit and you're not too mobile, there's the reloading after eight scoped shots (and the added step of going back into scoped mode every single time you roll/block/shield/get hit), and groups of mobs will be a pain to deal with (especially groups of bats). Still, that's why you have two loadouts at once, for those enemies who don't break after a set of eight. For extra evil fun, put it on a Sage with greatly extended Chaosbringer duration. You can shoot at will, only stopping to Cure yourself if needed. The final boss of the main game had its final phase reduced to a joke the first time I made it that far because of that combo.
There's 10 expert classes after the advanced classes dark knight, paladin, ninja, assassin, liberator, breaker, voidknight, tyrant, sage and the last one you have to beat the game to unlock
I chose Tyrant/Sage because the AI teammates are absolutely worthless. For the most part they just run around mindlessly while you fight 4 enemies by yourself. Enemies don't stagger and have infinite mp as well so you have to be able to deal a lot of damage from a distance or dodge out after doing so, as well as account for your allies' roles such as healing and buffing because they won't. It severely limits playstyles in the single-player experience but the multiplayer and post endgame is what it's all about.
My decision: 1st Job Class -Ronin/Samurai -Marauder/Breaker -Swordsman 2nd Job Class: -Sage I am super glad I bought this game and enjoying it. It is fun and awesome!!!!!
Dark Knight/Sage Combo is nigh unstoppable. Give him Blood Weapon, pop Soul Eater and BW together to balance HP levels, and have Sage cast Regenga and Protectga. 30 seconds of unlimited power at your disposal. You CAN die, but with BW and SE offsetting each other, less physical damage against and Regen, you can just go ham and have few Oh shit moments. Vicious. That said, I am pleased this game turned out okay. Was sketchy for the longest time.
@@Paeddl If you use Garo it puts you into the stance afterwards. Set it on the first combo ability for r1 to r2 and after its done you can go ham or go into the stance's triple r2 combo if you have enough mp. I did it all the time with zanshin activated.
I wish Dragoon could do Lance hurl but I guess if you’re feeling nasty you could have Lancer and Dragoon equipped so you can switch between “jump” and “hurl”, but berserker is too fun though 😢 There’s too many GOOD options lol 😭
a bit disappointed that there's no bow or crossbow class for me who like to move around at speed while bombarding my foes. hopefully the red mage is decent for that.
I definitely like this job system way more than niohs stance system. The stances always felt like there was always just one good way to use each weapon and if you strayed from that you got screwed.
@@GottEddy yes but in my experience it's more efficient to just use high stance with some weapons and kill the enemies so quick that they can't attack you rather than switch to block or dodge. I played 80% of the game in high stance. I only switched when I was testing weapons I hadn't used much.
i am sad for bad reviews for this game. it's being compared to ff or nioh/dark sould which is unfair. yes, optimization might be bad but it's an addictive game. good thing it has a lot of replayabilty because of jobs
Can you make a warrior build with a sword and shield? I love sword and shield combat but am not sure what to use as every build seems to be dual wielding and bleed or heavy magic. I will watch the video every day for a year to boost its stats just for you XD
You can swap jobs near at will in your inventory, and carry two jobs at once. Generically I recommend having one job for buffing and one job for combat/opportunism. White Mage is a practical necessity at high difficulty.
Wasn’t sure about this game when I first played it on ps4 when it came out. Replaying it now on ps5 and it has really grown on me. Combat feels so good and addictive. Story and characters are so silly and old school. And it’s simply gorgeous on ps5. Graphics were a little jankier on 4 I’ll admit, and I know not everybody can get their hands on a 5, but in my book 10/10 way better than ff7 remake
To be fair, Final Fantasy and Boxing are two very different things... because someone is interested in one doesn't mean they are interested in the other 🙄
Pew-ja-list. Great guide though. After a while I had to play axe based classes in order to level up other classes. Eventually the game's difficulty forced me to only play the breaker, otherwise I was constantly broken and dead. Starfall, starfall, starfall, starfall all day nothing else.

Yeah. Agreed
I ran Dragoon and Assassin lol
💯 ffxi vibes also rocking dragoon in both. Glory to Bastok

It did actually.
i really find sage + paladin both with mace extremely functional. the paladin is a wall and the sage has access to healing and offensive magic.
Pugomancer needs to be a class. It can beat cross between mage and pugalist that summons flat faced dogs to assist with them.
closest thing to that is tyrant tbh
