Would love to see a story comparison video of FF and SOP. Get a nice look at what elements are reminiscent of the original and what elements are completely new. Granted the original felt very bare bones so a lot is new here. I think it’s be fun to compare my own experience with a detailed video on the subject.

I think a cool idea for a SoP video or potentially series of videos would be to break down the inspiration for each area, as they all come from different games in the franchise. You could talk about the area's role in its original game, what got changed, what remains the same and if there are any easter eggs or particularly noteworthy details carried over

I've been grinding shards out the wazoo before I buy the full game. Anyway, does the amount of affinity you have towards a job equate to earning more EXP? Example - wearing a piece of gear that has 1% Dragoon affinity along with a piece of gear that gives 14% Red Mage affinity. Does the RM get more exp based on the higher affinity or is it the same across the board?
One thing I don't understand yet. Is there any point in completing a job tree once youve unlocked the next job? I can't figure out if the job tree for instance on swordsman has any effect on redmage outside of the obvious skill unlocks. Like do the stat boosts apply too?
I have over 4-5 hours of video backlogs to watch from my subscriptions due to a busy week but you bet this will be the only video from my subs I've watched

Do you need to hit 20% to get job points for the jobs you dont have selected? Like if I have gear on with 19% monk will I still upgrade monk job passively or does it have to reach 20% to hit the first bonus threshold?
I said screw it and bought this game. Don't mind skipping on Elden Ring for now. Plus been catching up other souls games. But maybe some type of gear guide. Or best classes.
Not a fan of soulsbourne games but playing on story mode lets me enjoy the universe of FF that I love so much. Too bad I don't know anyone playing this game the co op feature sounds really cool

I feel like this may be a sleeper (almost) hit. Epic exclusivity plus a fairly complex combat system means it will be a while before people fully crack open this game But this genre is niche so it won't be huge

I really wanted to like this game, but man did that demo kill my hype(and my pre-order). The combat and job system was great but damn was everything else pretty much meh at best.

Same, each area looks so linear (corridor dungeon) and it's a point and click world map. It's made by Team Ninja (Nioh) so I understand because I already know Team Ninja (Nioh), but a lot of people who buy this game think it's made by Square Enix. Also a lot of people say "it plays like a Souls game", but the majority of Souls games are less linear than Stranger of Paradise. Square Enix badly promoted this game. PS: also don't need to say the F word 20 times in your game. 😅

Honestly? I wasn't a fan of having two different types of guard/parry and having to remember which to use in a pinch (such as the boss battle against Garland). It got way too confusing when you're trying to remember which you need to use whilst also remembering weapon combos, inherent skills such as light bringer and managing your MP gauge
Ok, so I played a bit of the demo, I don't think souls games are for me, even on story: casual, it's just too much for me. It's pretty and cool, but I just want the story... I want to know what's different storywise but I don't have the desire to play this myself. I'm glad I downloaded the demo before buying this, because this is an expensive game that I'm sure I would have buyers remorse over... That being said, I imagine it will be awhile since it's a new game, but I would like a story review/character analysis (including the antagonists) And before anyone says "git gud", I know I suck at these kinds of games, I prefer games that challenge my mind while giving me a chance to strategize between actions. I enjoy puzzle games and RPGs, I want to challenge my mind more than my reflexes... Sorry SQEX but I'll be sitting this one out
Wikipedia told me the game's release date was today. Had an hour long conversation with a walmart employee today about games and stuff, but it'll be March 18th when us peasants finally get to snag a copy.
Stranger of Paradise is not a "Soulsborne"(what a fucking stupid thing that stuck around btw) game at all. It shares none of its traits. Can we stop calling games a "the Dark Souls of X" just because they expect you to be more active than just being present? Please? Some games are focused on their story or mood and some games are focused on their gameplay. The latter kinda requires more of the player by nature. That's not a new phenomenon.

Lore about areas and characters from other Final Fantasy games, that is in Stranger of Paradise like West Keep and Astos.

It has no bearing on EXP, it only confers greater stat bonuses at each threshold, and each tier stacks I believe.

He said in the video you gain passive exp based in affinity. I haven't tested it myself just yet.

Only for PS4/PS5. Devs said unfortunately there's no plan to port the demo to PC at the time
