  • oil free weight loss chicken soup recipe, weight loss diet soup, chicken soup for weight loss #weightloss #chickensoup. this chicken soup is a great warming soup for kids and adults alike during monsoons and winters, if you are a little under the weather and a cold or cough is coming up, then this chicken soup is a must.
    Ingredients:
    250 gms bone in chicken
    3 cups of water
    2 tsp light soysauce
    1/2 + 1/3 tsp black pepper powder
    1 tsp pink himalayan salt
    Half ear of a sweet corn - remove the corn kernals with a knife
    1 small stalk of celery and green onion (chopped)
    1 1/2 tbsp cornflour (cornstarch)
    2 egg whites

    UPDATE:
    Cornstarch: Has about 30 calories per tablespoon and adding just 1 1/2 tbsp in this soup does not make this soup fattening. You can always substitute with arrow root powder, if you prefer.
    Corn Kernels: A large ear of corn kernels has roughly around 125 calorie. In this recipe, I used only 1/2 ear of corn. Corn has less sugar and more protein and fibre. Corn is gluten free. Corn is a good source of antioxidants, carotenoid antioxidants found in corn kernels support the immune system, corn has a high source of filling fibre. Corn is beneficial to the heart, helps in reversing hypertension, and in controlling blood sugar levels. It is a staple and traditional food which also contains Vitamin C, magnesium, certain B vitamins, and potassium. Corn is a vegetable with high fiber and it helps to keep you full.

    I just made this soup and it is very good. I omitted the corn flour because I don't like a thick soup. I also used 1/2 tsp black pepper, 50 grams of frozen corn, and gluten-free soy sauce. I will definitely be making this often!

    Very good soup, two suggestions please add 3 to 4 cups of more water and bit of a fried garlic in the end and garnish it with coriander leaves.
    For 250 gram chicken one can safely add 6 to 8 cups of water. This will reduce the fat content per portion.

      It's interesting that you think that corn flour (100% starch, completly absorbable in the digestive tract) is unhealthy but genetically modified oats with inedible protein/carb content and chicken laced with chemicals, saturated fat and bad cholesterol is healthy!

    The beauty about a soup like this is that you could add or take a lot of ingredients and put in what you want. I personally may not put the egg in, but include a bit of garlic, maybe a couple of drops of peanut oil to give it a slightly more oriental taste.

      a small amount of soy sauce is alright :)
      also, you can use ground oats as a substitute to corn flour.

    I am dying to make this. It looks delicious. hanks for the explanation about black pepper. Who knew? One last thing. This has nothing to do with cooking but you mentioned that this soup is good for winters and the "monsoons". I am assuming this has to do with rain. How long does this rain last and does it impact on your day to day activities?

    I sometimes let the stock cool after the chicken is taken out then remove the hardened fat.. its not as tasty however. This recipe looks great esp the egg trick ill try it this instant!

    When I make my version I put all ingredients in pressure cooker which include chicken, oats, ginger garlic paste, cabbage carrot, onion, tomato, green coriander, black pepper, lemon.

      If you add tomato, garlic and lemon then the soup will have a very different taste. Then it wont have a chinese soup taste. It will be just one of those veg soups

    This is exactly like an Asian dish with fish maw. It's so similar but with less ingredients. We usually add crab to it instead of chicken. And we add red wine vinegar to it afterwards. It is so amazing.

    U aded corn flour means carbs,,,whole day u can take carb just once,,,so have to leave rotii or bread while taking soup

    In the UK nobody uses soya sauce or corn flour..they just add herbs like parsely,celery,sage n rosemary for flavour and cook the broth four at least 4 hours to thicken it..it's more healthy..

    Put some ginger along with chicken in cooker. Ginger has many health benefits and taste will be very good. In winter it is awesome.

    Most of the time corn floor is GMO - it spiked blood sugars and insulin fast compared to white rice - we need substitute for corn flour - can we use coconut flour which is 100 times healthy than corn ?
