I have the x-max 250 since 2006, no problems with it yet - only oil change and a rubber pipe that got old, tires changed (all service done at home), I like it's narrow body and the huge space under the seat - two helmets + some extra, that I can keep luggage between my legs when shopping exceeds the space under seat. Gas costs about 20€ per month, I can park anywhere without any costs and the moment I step down I'm a pedestrian, without need to carry helmet, gloves or wear special boots or pants. I'm leaning towards the x-max 300, I have the money to buy it but I see no reason to switch except for the looks. I have another 3 motorcycles - one 1200cc, one 660cc and one 500cc but these are only for fun - the scooter is the everyday utility vehicle.
Have owned Xmax300 for about a year. Love it. Traction control, ABS, big storage, great gas mileage, plenty of power, light and easy to balance and jockey around at slow speeds, 12 volt outlet, ambient temp readout, battery voltage readout, current and average mpg readout, 4-way flashers, more computer read outs than my BMW F800ST, key fob convenience, great twist and go response. My favorite grocery getter. No issues so far.
In summer I see a constant readout on the computer of 85 to 88 mpg (U.S). In winter I see on the computer about 75-78mpg. Probanly cold temps and warm-up time enters the picture here: Pennsylvania weather. Since you asked this question, I will plan to do some old fashioned results using the odometer reading after fill-ups.
I recently got one too. Only a few gripes I have with it: The standard windscreen is simply shit for taller riders like me (6'1"). The wind is deflected right to the middle of your visor, it gets very noisy and you get headaches from the constant vibration, even on the high setting. Another thing to do with height is the floorboard/seat. The forward position is way too steep to put your feet on for longer periods of time and sometimes I feel pretty cramped. If they angled it slighty further down it would be more comfortable, alternatively the backrest should be adjustable. Just 5cm more room would make a lot of difference. The light cone is pretty good but the headlights simply aren´t bright enough, you get outshine by cars with halogen bulbs. I just added a pair of foglights by SW Motech and now that problem is no more, excellent side-to-side vision and much brighter in general. Unfortunately we can´t get crash cages for the Max here so I just drilled some holes in the radiator fairing (the blank plastic bits under the colored side panels, right above the indicators) and stuck the screws in there and tightened it all up). On top I installed 15gr Dr.Pulley sliders. It revs up much faster now and gets around 3 seconds better 0-100kph time. Much better pull in town and I finally dare to overtake someone on faster roads. Fuel consumption is surprisingly pretty much the same, it only goes up when you ride long trips on the highway. Generally at higher speeds the revs are pretty high, it doesn´t feel as relaxed anymore but considering the huge difference in acceleration it is worth it.
I got a spoiler for my windshield and I'm 6'3" 205lbs and it makes all the difference with NO WIND BUFFETING on helmet......Amazon has them for $31 ....this 2023 Xmax 300 is the best mid size Maxi scooter on the planet !!!! I have no complaints !!!
@@mrblueeyes4767 I still use 17g. It still improves acceleration a lot. You really notice it above 80kph. Rpms are still at about 6000 at 100kph but with the sliders, when you open the throttle it kinda does a kickdown like a DCT gearbox would and immediately shoots up to 7500rpm. It goes up to 8000 till you hit 120 and then goes back down to 7000 and up from there. 100-130 is very quick and fun now. Feels like it´s shifting almost and is a lot of fun for a 300cc.
Got myself xmax 250 in june... has been modding it a lot... ohlin suspension, handlebar, new paint, complete frando brake system, and a lot more... as of today, put up 9000km over 3 month... a very practical and fun scooter....
Yip just bought one and I love it , I know you won't believe me but I sold my Mt09 Sp to buy this. I'm not a young man and found that mt09 just didn't suit my riding style cracking bike but just wasn't for me, more for the younger rider. I Just love the xmax practically, easy to ride tons of storage. And rides like it's on rails. And also my wife can ride it as its not that tall in the seat. I Had a suzuki burgman 400 I did not rate it thought it was a very large scooter and didn't handle side winds very well. Also it was to big for my wife to ride and handle. PS Excellent video
No way! That is a big change in riding capabilities but I totally understand 😂 Sometimes you just wanna get somewhere on two wheels and bring a few things with you! I agree with the comments on the burgman as well, it seems too big for what it is. The XMAX 300 has that sweet spot! If they update the engine on the XMAX 400 and I wouldn’t be against upgrading 😏 That’s good to read though, I’m glad you’re enjoying your XMAX 🙌🏽👌🏽
You and I went the same route buying the XMAX: Philippines, scooters, NMAX, Forza, Burgman 400, XMAX 300! I go to Cebu. Really nice people and cool places to ride. My fuel economy is 75 to 80 mpg. If I keep it between 50 - 60 mph, I can get 82 mpg. Driving between 30 - 50 mph, I can get 85 mpg. I weigh 148 lbs.
Picked up my new (to me) 2021 X-Mas 300 and had a five hour ride back to Wales in some of the worst conditions imaginable. Incredibly impressed by the bike. Can't wait for some dry weather but the tyres are very grippy even in rain and mud. Need to learn a bit more about the ignition switch though as I find it a bit perplexing.
Congrats on your new bike! I had a similar situation when I bought mine from Birmingham and rode all the way back to London. Great weather protection and comfort! Once you get familiar with the ignition switch, you won’t even need to look at it 👌🏽Enjoy your new ride 🏍
@@tapecknows Thanks, hope you are enjoying your X-max too, I've only been able to go out once on it since collection because of the various storms we're having at the moment. I need to find a reasonably priced top box and/or pillion back rest, there doesn't seem to be much choice beyond the (expensive!) Yamaha stuff. Unless you know of something else?
Nice bike and cool video! I own a Yamaha 2007 Majesty 400 and LOVE IT TO THIS DAYYYY! I prefer it to my 2014 Honda CTX700 DCT for LONG rides! That Xmax looks fab!!! Ride safe mate!! Cheers!
I owned xmax 300 2019. Trunk space is amazing. People think it looked like a batman scooter. It can handle itself on the freeway with no sway from gust of wind.
Ahh yeah looks like it might be affecting it a bit. If yours is 63mpg US = 75 mpg UK, my stock screen on the highest setting is showing 76 mpg US = 91mpg UK
Fully agreed with your commentaries. Nice video thanks to share us I own an xmax300 since 6 months ago and I’m very happy. The filling of xmax 300 in a curvy roads is simply amazing, maybe front brake power could be better, anyway, this scooter 🛵 is highly recommended
Thank you! Yeah I agree with the front brake, mine is a little spongy now so I probably need to service it soon! But this scooter is perfect for everyday use and I can’t think of anything better 🙌🏽
I had two choices, the Xmax or the 350 Forza. I chose the Forza, but just because of the electric screen. The Yamaha is a great bike and well built. I also enjoy the luggage capacity. With a SHAD 55L hardcase added I have enough storage for a three week tour in Europe. Thanks for the upload 👍
@@tapecknows I really couldn't give accurate numbers as I only drive short distances daily so it is less efficient. To my home house would be about 270 kilometers. I did drive once to it on the yamaha and I think I had to stop for fuel around 190 kilometers in. I was just hitting the last bar on my dashboard so probably could have got 220 kilometers. Now it does drink a little bit more than the 300 apparently but a little more torque. Very similar in performance I hear...
I bought one recently the space under the seat is the main reason as massage therapist I carry a nubis physio bed I can fit all the parts in and on the bike love it
thx for the review. I need new bike cuz I just move to Bangkok its a big city and always trafficjam. Im planning to get this asap so me and gf never late to work
Hiya bud i bought a Xmax 300 2 days ago im 49 ive had a license for 21 years! Ive had over 20 bikes since i was 16, yes 16! i had a break for around 10/12 years but ive decided to dip my toe back in. i also owned a SV650 (Great bike) although i wouldnt call it a sports bike! Cbr 600 now thats a different story! Anyway, i just wanted to say, i bought one and a lot has been on your reviews. i might even start a blog on it, as its something we need here in the uk, scooter ownership! Best wishes!
@@tapecknows id love to start a blog, as i think we overlook scooters in the uk, i have ditched the car for at least a year, maybe more. I have no idea how to start a blog, edit it etc, but im thinking about it! i think you should do more on the Xmax as there are a lot of interested people who want a scooter but end up buying a bike that their mates like! But i will look into buying a Gopro in the new year. Any advise is welcome!
@@tapecknows G day from 🇦🇺, just ordered a Black DNA 300 x max 1.99% finance with Akrapovic exhaust. Pick up next week. Went for the looks v Forza 350. Here I paid 8600 dollars just the bike. Thanks for the great review mate.
The aesthetics is always a personal thing, the storage and fuel economy is the same on the honda forza 350, granted the x max has a bigger tank, but currently its more expensive than the honda and don't even offer an electric screen 🤷🏻♂️ otherwise I think they are pretty equal
Rode the Honda Forza "300" in the morning then drove 45mins t ok a mother dealer and rode the Xmax 300 (both bikes same year, 2019) and the Xmax was a clear winner in the engine performance stakes (that's why Honda added another 50cc's and came out with the upgraded Forza 350 to answer Yamaha's engine power) and the underseat storage space is definitely bigger on the Xmax though I really liked the dash on the Honda and electric windscreen. I chose the Xmax due to performance in the end.
I saw one of these in Hua Hin earlier this week. It had a shorter screen. Made it looked sportier. I'm tempted, although, living in Chiang Rai, I'll probably buy an Aerox 155. Mrs 90 has a Scoopy 110.
Yeahh the Aerox 155 is probably a better suit for Chiang Rai, since it’s smaller in size and can get through gaps! It looks just as good as the XMAX 300 too 🔥
Definitely looking at something like this after really disliking my last scooter the Honda PCX 150. The PCX really gets dangerous when the tires wear just a little bit. Actually totalled mine sliding for 50 feet under the back of a car.
@@tapecknows - Real issue is the PCX has really skinny tires with little tread, not much surface area on the road. Had full protective gear, full face helmet, Joe Rocket jacket/pants and boots but the cars tailpipe slid between my pants and jacket and gave me a nice little wound. Taught me a lesson about unsafe bikes and I'll always go for ABS/stability control with a new bike and wider tires.
In India. Honda, suzuki scooter also have small Tyre.. So i took yamaha scooter the only scooter that give wider tyre. I tested honda, suzuki scooter vs yamaha. Due to wider tyre of yamaha only gave stability.
@@vanceg4901 XMax tires; 120/70-15 Dunlop® Scoot Smart Tires / Rear 140/70-14 Dunlop® Scoot Smart PCX tires; Front Tire 110/70-14 Rear Tire 130/70-13 Looks about the same to me. Maybe the older PCX has smaller tires??
Pillion passenger said to me they got sore hips due the the wide seat. I get a sore back riding after about 30 minutes and the height of the scooter is a bit high, but everything else is fantastic.
That’s interesting to hear about the pillion! I agree with the height of the scooter but it’s manageable. I’ve never had issues with my back on this so it may be worth adjusting the handlebar position
thanks, really considering this as a first time purchase. I'm a tad worried about the seat height as my legs are on the shorter side. Hopefully I can get a test ride in before I buy.
I choose the Xmax 300 over the Honda Forza 300 after testing riding each model for two days each. The Xmax has more power, weights less, better brakes, has ESC and looks much better than the Forza.
I would never put a rain cover in the bike....but I would put rain gear for me so I don't get soaked...the bike is always going to run into some wet weather unless you watch the forecast and never ride the bike if there is a slight chance of rain....
The 250 2016 can do 100km trip 2 up without stopping after that becomes uncomfortable with combined weight no more than 150kg with 2 backpacks and locks under-seat one worn by pillion on the back or rider at front, done 120km regularly direct trip on twisty 40 - 50 - 60mph country roads best thing ever. The 300 does it better - suspension power acc fuel economy too. For 2 up touring the 400 is best and only suffers in fuel economy vs 300 65-70mpg to 80-90mpg but for that much bike get a cb500x or nc750x for more versatility
Thank you for the video! What do you people here think of the X-max 250? (2013-2017) Is it more fuel efficient, or the same? The X-max has depriciated quiet a bit in Sweden and you can get a good deal on the older 250cc
Maybe the 250 will be slightly more fuel efficient but the 300 has the updated BlueCore engine that increases efficiency and power. If you don’t mind the 250 and can save money, then maybe it’s not a bad choice
Enjoyed your video very much! Congrats from North Carolina. Though not popular in the USA, older riders with knee or shoulder issues are discovering that they can be much easier to hold up then 900 lb cruisers. I am headed in this direction myself due to right arm and hand injury that left me permanently weakened. Did you try the Piaggio MP3 500 or the SYM Citycom? Thanks
Thank you for your comment! Yeah scooters aren’t that popular in the UK but they are very popular in mainland Europe. I wonder why that is? 🤔 This would make riding very easy and convenient especially if you have existing injuries. I was a sports bike person at first but this scooter has changed my mind, for everyday use. I would still love to own a Kawasaki ZX-6R for those faster runs! I haven’t tried the MP3 or Citycom so I don’t have any info those, sorry!
Good response. My knees are replacements. Were I to ride 100 miles on a RR style bike or even a BMW RT I would have to be helped off. My Silverwing was great. Now looking for MPG and price point plus performance.
Nice video! But what about suspension wise? I own a Piaggio Beverly 300, and unfortunately suspension is a big issue for me. Do you think suspension is good enough for daily use or even for little trips outside of town even for two passengers? Thanks in advance for your reply!
The suspension is pretty stiff so it’s good for getting around on your daily commute. However, when you hit a bump or pothole, you will definitely feel it jolt your back 😂 I don’t see a problem riding this with two people on on country lanes. Enough power for it but you might lose the overtaking abilities in faster roads.
I really want a maxi scooter but I don't want to feel like I am on a child's bike....they need to make the seats in a way that you can scoot back further if you are tall.....I am 6' tall or 72"....and most people on the scooters look like they are on a child's bike with their feet right up under them and their knees up high.
i,m sorry and i see everybody agreeing with you about the XMAX but i find the new FORZA 350 a much better bike and better looking , but as they say , each to there own . good video .
We went the 300 because over 300cc, rego more than doubles. Upto 300cc is $297.40 and over 300cc is $632.10. As the bike can do the speed limit with ease, the cheaper registration is a consideration. Especially as a commuter of 16 klm round trip.
Chose a scooter for all the practical benefits - great mpg, lots of storage, ease of use in traffic and weather protection. These are the things I need when commuting!
I was looking at the J300 (also Honda Forza) before the Xmax, the J300 is very underrated, Kwak should get back on the game, if not to keep competition healthy.
L'instabilità delle riprese fatte a bordo dello scooter possono soltanto essere addebitate al fatto che il pilota lo stasse spingendo. Complimenti per le velocità raggiunte. A me è venuto il mal di mare a guardarle.
Looks like top speed one up was about 85 mph which is very similar to the top speed obtained on a Honda Forza 300 on a similar test ride. So no difference there. Many scooters are sold and are more popular all over the third world but not as popular here in the UK. The under seat will definitely take two open face and possibly two full face helmets but will probably not take a flip helmet so if you want security for a flip face then the top box comes in handy for that.
I made a video solely on the top speed run of my XMAX 300. Here’s the link: th-cam.com/video/IWhoN-0Gk-E/w-d-xo.html With the underseat storage, I find that it doesn’t fit my medium size helmet on the inner space, only the top space close to the rear of the bike. I don’t mind since I don’t carry more than one helmet with me. Also, I’m not a fan of top boxes so that’s not an option for me 😂
Here’s the install video: th-cam.com/video/JDqtKDcw6D0/w-d-xo.html The mirrors put it in a static position so you have a consistent view whilst turning, similar to a car. Plus it moves the mirrors to a better position for filtering.
I no longer have the XMAX as I work from home a lot and have no need to commute anymore. I've replaced it with more fun but less practical bikes like a YZ250 and XSR700 that I ride maybe once week.
Thank you for commenting Destructive Flow! I love them too, it's a small thing but adds a bit more character to the bike! They're like a dark fluorescent orange colour, they're not red but sometimes they look red in pictures or videos. I think this colour actually helps me to be seen more at night.
I ride a older 2009 SYM RV250 Scooter with a carburetor engine and really like riding to work because of the wind protection and storage. The Maxi Scooters in the 250 to 400cc range are really practical commuter bikes. I wonder how the xmax handles the high speed 65mph plus ExpressWay highways does it handle well at high speeds?
hy tapec i got a question, why does my XMAX 300 doesnt have any power even i charge the battery and checked the fuse, it doesnt have any power at all and it doesnt detect my key. do you have any idea why it does that?
Possibly a dead battery? I had to replace my batter after 2 years because the OEM one died. I would try that first and check the battery in your fob too making sure the fob is on. If all else fails, best to take it to a dealer
Hey Renz, yes the weight limit for the bike is 161kg in total! The rear shocks have pre-load adjustments so you can correctly accommodate for the weight on your bike.
Yeah I did! The 400 was more expensive with an engine that wasn’t as efficient. Economy wise, the 300 made more sense and I ride on my own so didn’t need the extra power
@@tapecknows I had a 2009 TMAX500 liked it but was heavy, xmax 400 is heavy at 210kg and xmax 300 is nice and light 179kg, but can it cruise at 80mph? What is the top speed of the 300? Thanks.
I have a xmax 250 ypr 2010 evan at low speed say 25 the wind noise is horrendous with the standard screen - How is the 300 doing for that ? I notice that it has deflectors on the windsheild maybe that works well - I had to resort to purchasing a tall GIVI touring screen which made the windnoise much better - would love to have relative peace and quiet behind the screen
I'm 5ft 8" and the windscreen on the highest setting is just about right for me. Wind noise, I would say is quite low even at high speeds from 50mph+. I ride a Honda Grom which has no wind protection and it's basically a night and day difference.
Are u able to navigate between 2 cars waiting on red light? Im trying to decide between this and the smaller vespa 300. Want the xmax on my commute, but my commute also include some city lanes with a lot of traffic. Can you navigate in between lanes with the xmax?
I definitely recommend the XMAX to anyone wanting storage space and comfort on a bike. I rarely had passengers on mine but I can imagine it would be quite comfortable due to the large seat. A back rest would probably be a good idea and it improves the look of the scooter too in my opinion
* Half the price of a car * Has a big boot to chuck all your riding gear in when at the beach (LOL, racers) * Can easily get up to 90+ before maxing the revs, so it's good on motorways * Is comfy enough for long distances * Very good mpg, in good form I've had 96mpg * Generous wind screen (sports one is nice but have you seen the insect splats in summer?) * Good dealer network for servicing If I win the lottery I'll get BMW 650 but until then I still have fun, so...
@@tapecknows yea it sucks and the so called high beam/passing signal is so bad. Like come on Yamaha really?!? But apart from those two things this bike is absolutely amazing and fun to ride!
Yeahh hahah, you can barely tell the difference with that light! Small thing (literally) compared to the overall performance of the bike though. I rode my mate’s “proper” motorcycle the other day and realised how comfortable the xmax 300 really was
I rarely subscribe to motovloggers who are still new to the platform but man you're a fucking natural! Especially on the xmax review hahaha keep it up! Was going to buy xmax 300 but Yamaha announced that it's going to release an upgrade. XMAX IRON MAX 400 CC, looking forward to your future vlogs, ride safe man😎
Thanks Olofmeister! I never even thought this video would get many views, let alone people subscribing haha! I should have some more XMAX 300 videos soon, I'm just having too much fun on my Honda Grom at the moment 😂 Oh they announced an update for the XMAX 400?? I need to look this up and check it out!
Where do you stay in the Philippines? Hope to ride with you soon once I got a bigger touring scooter. This pandemic is really stopping me to spend an extra.
@@tapecknows I'm planning to get the counterpart of Lexmoto Aura 125, if you happen to know that. But they released a 175cc version here in the Philippines which was rebranded as well.
I think the forza and xmax are pretty much the same. I heard and Burgman is more comfortable for 2 up riding and more storage because it’s physically bigger.
@@tapecknows wow only for 400 quids?? i thought i would be more expensive haha. was thinking like around 1000.. thats great! , and the petrol!! wow thats great! thanks for the info, i really appreciated! i am thinking to buy 2021 tech max 300. do you recommend ? or should i get 2020 ?
@@HS-sr9ww yeahh it would depend on where you live as well so it’s best to get a quote for your insurance. There’s not much difference in 2020 and 2021 so I’d get whichever is cheaper.
Hey mate, i am thinking of buying the same scooter, i also have a big CC bike and i wanted to ask you, do you ever miss the power of your previous bike or that 300cc lack power in overtaking and in general?
Nice! Well I only really miss the power of the 650 when riding with other big bikes. But for daily use, the XMAX 300 offers plenty of power for what it is. It beats any car off the line and most big bikes anyway if they're not trying to race you. Plus it has the overtaking power for up to, I would say 80/85mph, then after that it starts to not have that punch you'd need to get past in a hurry.
@@tapecknows Wow! Thanks alot for the fast response! Having a pillion makes a difference in overtaking performance? I am between xmax 300 and 400, i know 300cc has a newer engine and its much cheaper in gas but i was considering 400cc as i have a pillion most of the times (Yamaha representative suggested 300cc with closed eyes btw :P)
I think you'll be fine with a pillion with either models. If you're gonna be with a pillion and riding motorways or fast roads, then maybe get the 400. But for city riding, then the 300 will be able to do the job!
If you want speed you need sportbike. Yamaha xmax it's good every day transport. Not more The most powerful scooter Yamaha tmax going looks like low-powered motorcycle

Hi Nicanor, what does OBR mean? Personally the fastest I've gone on the bike is 95mph, riding solo. I feel like if it was going a bit more downhill then it could have reached 100mph.
if you are from the uk you are talking through your backside where fuel economy is concerned as you stated you are spending between 13 and 15 pound and the tank holds around 13.5 litres, that would be to suggest that the petrol prices at the time of creating this video were around one pound a litre, which was clearly not the case, it's been over ten years since we've had petrol prices that low in the uk.
You’re obviously not from the UK seeing as you forgot that petrol prices went close to £1 per litre during lockdown. th-cam.com/video/3Mb5-lySUqI/w-d-xo.html
the 125cc version its worth the 5000 euros that costing??i thinking to buy it but i dont know, iam afraid that it would be very slow with that small engine and the high weight
Thanks for the video guy, i want one of these scooters & i am looking to sell my enormous BMW R1200gs & to buy one of these. I sometimes ride through London & the big bike is just too big & having to stop & start every 200ft is killing the clutch in that thing. These do look good & they are so nimble & quick, in London the scooters always mug me at the lights with their twist & go ! Not sure whether to have a box fitted or not, i do like to use my bike for supermarket shopping trips.
The XMAX would definitely be more suited for riding through London and dealing with traffic. For me, the space underneath is big enough for around 3/4 bags full of shoppping, depending on how full they are. I made a quick video about that as well - th-cam.com/video/OgRJ1uYnezQ/w-d-xo.html
Yes I do, my last oil change was around 2000 miles ago. My oil level at the moment is just less than halfway on the sight level. I might need to top up before the next oil change
@@tapecknows This isn't a nice thing for a newly designed engine in my opinion. I own an Aprilia sr max 300, and they oil stays at the same level always. The same happened to my previous scooters from piaggio. Of course piaggio have some other quality issues, but this oil consumption is very weird.
@@tapecknows I think that it will not affect the reliability. Maybe the exhaust/catalyzer will be affected from oil consumption later. Here this scooter is very popular and i read for some that already have exceeded 40.000kms with no problems..So no need to worry!

How much did u buy your xmax?
Would you recommend xmax 300, forza 350 or forza adv 350?
I also fell in love with the XMAX300. I will get this when I have some money for a scooter. :)
Yeahh it definitely changed the way I looked at scooters! You should do it man 🙌🏽

@@vinmat3558 Thank you
I recently got one too. Only a few gripes I have with it:
The standard windscreen is simply shit for taller riders like me (6'1").
How many grams lower you went down on sliders from stock?
@@mrblueeyes4767 I still use 17g. It still improves acceleration a lot. You really notice it above 80kph.
Rpms are still at about 6000 at 100kph but with the sliders, when you open the throttle it kinda does a kickdown like a DCT gearbox would and immediately shoots up to 7500rpm. It goes up to 8000 till you hit 120 and then goes back down to 7000 and up from there.
100-130 is very quick and fun now.
Feels like it´s shifting almost and is a lot of fun for a 300cc.

I have also owned Suzuki SV650n and now I bought X-Max 300 partly because of your videos, Thank You!
Great to hear! Do you own both at the moment?
No, I sold my SV around 2014 to finance my growing family.
The storage space is a big advantage. That's a huge space under the seat. Could probably do a good sized grocery run, or a weekend trip somewhere.
It’s so useful!
You and I went the same route buying the XMAX:
Philippines, scooters, NMAX, Forza, Burgman 400, XMAX 300!

Really nice people and cool places to ride.

If I keep it between 50 - 60 mph, I can get 82 mpg.
Driving between 30 - 50 mph, I can get 85 mpg.

I own an xmax300 since 6 months ago and I’m very happy.
The filling of xmax 300 in a curvy roads is simply amazing, maybe front brake power could be better, anyway, this scooter 🛵 is highly recommended

I had two choices, the Xmax or the 350 Forza. I chose the Forza, but just because of the electric screen. The Yamaha is a great bike and well built. I also enjoy the luggage capacity. With a SHAD 55L hardcase added I have enough storage for a three week tour in Europe.

The aesthetics is always a personal thing, the storage and fuel economy is the same on the honda forza 350, granted the x max has a bigger tank, but currently its more expensive than the honda and don't even offer an electric screen 🤷🏻♂️ otherwise I think they are pretty equal
Yeahh there are so many options out there to meet each individual needs, you almost can’t go wrong with what you choose!
@@tapecknows yeah maxi scooters are underrated in the UK, very comfortable and practical oh yeah and economic

Definitely looking at something like this after really disliking my last scooter the Honda PCX 150. The PCX really gets dangerous when the tires wear just a little bit. Actually totalled mine sliding for 50 feet under the back of a car.
Damnn, I’m glad to hear you’re still alive Vance! Yeah sometimes it’s good to have a larger capacity bike to get out of a bad situation 🙏🏽
@@tapecknows - Real issue is the PCX has really skinny tires with little tread, not much surface area on the road.
Nice! I’m looking to do longer rides soon!
This would make riding very easy and convenient especially if you have existing injuries.

However, when you hit a bump or pothole, you will definitely feel it jolt your back 😂
I don’t see a problem riding this with two people on on country lanes. Enough power for it but you might lose the overtaking abilities in faster roads.
tapecknows thank u very much. Keep up the good work!!
Nice vid sir.. sorry for watching 3 years late

I really want a maxi scooter but I don't want to feel like I am on a child's bike....they need to make the seats in a way that you can scoot back further if you are tall.....I am 6' tall or 72"....and most people on the scooters look like they are on a child's bike with their feet right up under them and their knees up high.
There are aftermarket flat seats that let you scoot back if you’re worried about comfort and other people’s opinions 😉
i,m sorry and i see everybody agreeing with you about the XMAX but i find the new FORZA 350 a much better bike and better looking , but as they say , each to there own . good video .
Yeah it all comes down to personal preference at the end of the day
We went the 300 because over 300cc, rego more than doubles. Upto 300cc is $297.40 and over 300cc is $632.10. As the bike can do the speed limit with ease, the cheaper registration is a consideration. Especially as a commuter of 16 klm round trip.
it looks really comfy, and it holds around 36 hp if I remember it right i would be happy to own one :)
Yeah very comfy in and around town. The power is 27.6 hp here in the UK
Out of curiosity, why a scooter? Price, ease of use? Storage? Or simply just wanted one?
Chose a scooter for all the practical benefits - great mpg, lots of storage, ease of use in traffic and weather protection. These are the things I need when commuting!

Grazie per la visione! Spero ti senta meglio presto x
Here’s the link: th-cam.com/video/IWhoN-0Gk-E/w-d-xo.html
With the underseat storage, I find that it doesn’t fit my medium size helmet on the inner space, only the top space close to the rear of the bike. I don’t mind since I don’t carry more than one helmet with me. Also, I’m not a fan of top boxes so that’s not an option for me 😂
You can connect helmet with security lock chain to the box plate on scooter
Why does the description say 'Top Speed Attempt". that wasn't in the video
It's there at some point
I have very bad back have had three surgeries and I don’t walk the best, do think someone like me could ride this?

Here’s the install video: th-cam.com/video/JDqtKDcw6D0/w-d-xo.html
The mirrors put it in a static position so you have a consistent view whilst turning, similar to a car. Plus it moves the mirrors to a better position for filtering.

The Maxi Scooters in the 250 to 400cc range are really practical commuter bikes. I wonder how the xmax handles the high speed 65mph plus ExpressWay highways does it handle well at high speeds?
My XMAX 300 handles 70mph easily on the motorways here in the UK. I can get up to 85mph quickly for overtaking other vehicles

Possibly a dead battery? I had to replace my batter after 2 years because the OEM one died. I would try that first and check the battery in your fob too making sure the fob is on. If all else fails, best to take it to a dealer
Seems like an interesting bike. Do you know if there is a weight limit for a rider plus pillion? Thanks!
Hey Renz, yes the weight limit for the bike is 161kg in total! The rear shocks have pre-load adjustments so you can correctly accommodate for the weight on your bike.
Did you look at the Xmax 400?
Im thinking of the 300 or 400 xmax or Beverly 350...

Yep! I was born there so it’s always nice to come back 🇵🇭
Whereabouts in the UK was this? I really liked the city, man!
This was near Watford, on the outskirts of London!
I definitely recommend the XMAX to anyone wanting storage space and comfort on a bike. I rarely had passengers on mine but I can imagine it would be quite comfortable due to the large seat. A back rest would probably be a good idea and it improves the look of the scooter too in my opinion
* Half the price of a car
* Has a big boot to chuck all your riding gear in when at the beach (LOL, racers)
* Can easily get up to 90+ before maxing the revs, so it's good on motorways
* Is comfy enough for long distances
* Very good mpg, in good form I've had 96mpg
* Generous wind screen (sports one is nice but have you seen the insect splats in summer?)
* Good dealer network for servicing
If I win the lottery I'll get BMW 650 but until then I still have fun, so...

Hello there can you do long trips with this bike ?
Yeah you definitely can if you’re not in a rush, really comfortable with lots of storage under the seat
Any reason why Forza was not picked?
I wasn’t a fan of how it looks
The only downside to this bike is that the battery seems to lose out on juice more
Hmm yeah it does seem to do that. Whenever I start it and have to shut it off because I need to open the seat, it’ll struggle to start again 😔
@@tapecknows yea it sucks and the so called high beam/passing signal is so bad. Like come on Yamaha really?!? But apart from those two things this bike is absolutely amazing and fun to ride!

I should have some more XMAX 300 videos soon, I'm just having too much fun on my Honda Grom at the moment 😂
Oh they announced an update for the XMAX 400?? I need to look this up and check it out!
will you upgrade to the Xmax 400cc when it's available?
Nahh, the 300 serves its purpose. If I were to get another bike, it will be a sports or sports tourer
Where do you stay in the Philippines? Hope to ride with you soon once I got a bigger touring scooter. This pandemic is really stopping me to spend an extra.
Nicee! I’m mostly in QC, I don’t have an XMAX there though haha
@@tapecknows I'm planning to get the counterpart of Lexmoto Aura 125, if you happen to know that. But they released a 175cc version here in the Philippines which was rebranded as well.
ahh cool! Yeah we don't really get the smaller versions here like the the XSR155 and Honda ADV X 150. I like the concept for those though!
Storage and pillion seats in comparison to Forza and Burgman?
I think the forza and xmax are pretty much the same. I heard and Burgman is more comfortable for 2 up riding and more storage because it’s physically bigger.
is insurance expensive ?? how much do you pay for a month ?or annually ?, and plus, the fuel you paid 13 -15 pounds for a week ?is that right ?
It’s pretty reasonable for my circumstances. So I pay £400 for 1 year’s insurance and around £15 petrol every 2 weeks or £30 a month
@@tapecknows oh it affects where i live ? i should get a quote before i buy , thanks! aha haha but new one has more pros , isnt it ?
@@HS-sr9ww not really, since they didn’t really update or change the engine and design. It’s up to you really and if you can afford it, why not! Hahah
Not more
The most powerful scooter Yamaha tmax going looks like low-powered motorcycle
@@lakostakis I think you need tmax with some Malossi tuning. 300 or 400cc it's slow torque
What kind of mirrors do you have? It's cool 👍
They're just some ebay mirrors I got. Here's my video of how I installed it and the link to the mirrors is in the description: th-cam.com/video/JDqtKDcw6D0/w-d-xo.html
Hi sir.. whats d top speed when u have ur OBR with you at ur back ride
Hi Nicanor, what does OBR mean? Personally the fastest I've gone on the bike is 95mph, riding solo. I feel like if it was going a bit more downhill then it could have reached 100mph.
@@tapecknows obr means. Official back ride or ur passenger
Thank you! I might have to start using that term haha
hahahaha tapecknows i thought ur just kidding saying u dont knew what the term OBR stands for sir😂😂😂
nicanor lorenzana Hahahah it’s because we use a different term here in the UK so I wasn’t sure what it meant 😂
good enjin. nice bike
Thank you!
@@tapecknows your welcome.I have one. so I know this is good machine.
Best commuter bike. I'm waiting for my ohlins rear absorbers
Nicee! I am looking to do the same as well!
@@tapecknows what is the benefit of ohlins rear absorbers?
Better adjustability of the rear shock to suit your riding. Plus they look like bling but costs a lot like bling 😂
if you are from the uk you are talking through your backside where fuel economy is concerned as you stated you are spending between 13 and 15 pound and the tank holds around 13.5 litres, that would be to suggest that the petrol prices at the time of creating this video were around one pound a litre, which was clearly not the case, it's been over ten years since we've had petrol prices that low in the uk.
You’re obviously not from the UK seeing as you forgot that petrol prices went close to £1 per litre during lockdown. th-cam.com/video/3Mb5-lySUqI/w-d-xo.html
I have the 2017 Honda forza 300 because it was a great deal but I would have been just as happy with a Yamaha
Both solid options!
Yes I got this last year only had 650 miles on it ! It’s a 2017 love it
Hello! Please tell me, is it possible to put more rear shock absorbers on the XMAX300 to increase ground clearance? Thank!
I’m not entirely sure about increasing ground clearance 🤷🏽♂️ but you can definitely put aftermarket shocks on the back!
the 125cc version its worth the 5000 euros that costing??i thinking to buy it but i dont know, iam afraid that it would be very slow with that small engine and the high weight
Yeah definitely not worth it. You’re better off with a PCX 125
@@tapecknows :(
pcx is very overrated and it fall just like that
Ahh okay, what bike will you buy then?
@@tapecknows i think i will go for the forza 350cc
Nicee that looks good too!
What you think about 125ccm xmax?
I think the physical size is too big for a 125. I'd rather get a Vespa if I was going to get a 125cc scooter
I made a quick video about that as well - th-cam.com/video/OgRJ1uYnezQ/w-d-xo.html
get the tmax bro
@@Tycho14401 tmax is very expensive to maintain , has lots of problems , i sold my tmax for the xmax 300 , the tmax is not reliable enough for me ....
@@PhysicsViolator Which type tmax? Which problems?
Do you have notice some oil consumption between oil changes? I read about this problem here in Greece. nice video!
Yeahh hopefully it doesn’t affect the reliability of the engine. I guess I’ll find out in a few years time!
@@tapecknows I think that it will not affect the reliability. Maybe the exhaust/catalyzer will be affected from oil consumption later. Here this scooter is very popular and i read for some that already have exceeded 40.000kms with no problems..So no need to worry!
Orfeas Lampropoulos that’s good to hear! I’m looking to upgrade my exhaust at some point anyway 😂
