    I have ridden both for a long time. The Yamaha does indeed feel faster. When you open the throttle well, you feel a kind of kickdown. So yes if you like it then the yamaha is excellent. It has a larger tank capacity of 1.5 liters more than the Honda. However, I chose the Honda 350 because I find it more all-round. Especially when it comes to commuting or driving long distances. The height-adjustable windshield offers sufficient protection against rain and wind. The seat height is perfect for me. The saddle of the Honda is less wide than that of the Yamaha, so you can get your feet to the ground just that little bit better. The center of gravity of the Honda is slightly low in the frame, making it feel lighter than the Yamaha and therefore easier to control. The Yamaha feels heavier especially when you are going to move it on foot. The Yamaha is motorically more fun because of the feeling of more pulling power and the rumbling sound. The Honda, on the other hand, is less skin in terms of sound and feeling of pulling power. In short. For sportiness the Yamaha. For everything else and more all-round the Honda.

      I think in my own opinion, It is just the feeling of more power on the yamaha because it feels more grunty ang vibraty compared to the smoothness of the honda.

      Feelling is not a test i agree . Rarely you can see high and low beam test in the night.
      Only one video and Forza was the winner in the night condition .
      ABS is very smooth with Forza.
      Xmax and ADV are the most sexy .

    I bought a new Yamaha xmax 300 when they were launched in England in or about June 2017.My previous was a Kawasaki Versys 1000 mk2.MY first ever scooter.I rode it from north east England to France and toured France very comfortably at an indicated 70mph(actual about 65mph).The mpg on that trip was over 90mpg average.I also rode it around the Pyrenees and northern Spain and loved it.all my luggage fitted under the seat and in a small topbox.This was the first single cylinder engined bike I have owned.It only felt busy at its highest speeds.The traction control and abs were good.Rear tyre was gone at 7500 miles the front had a little left on it.The oil change is every 4000 miles or so which is terrible but a filter and oil cost very little.Was it worth the money for me.........sure was every penny .The suspension on scooters isn't the best but I found the acceptable nothing more nothing less.MY max mileage in a day was 400 miles. After which I was tired not crippled buy one enjoy

    In France, the warranty with Yamaha is 2 years, the Honda has 5 Years. This dramatically increases the value of the Honda when you sell it after 3 years. I bought the Honda.

    Very happy with my first scooter since the sixties, a Forza 350. All it lacks is a handbrake, which proved an easy and cheap fix -- very important in the mountains. I´m sure the Yam is very good, but I didn´t need to look further than the Honda. After the (excellent) video, I´m still pleased with my choice.

    Test rode both, bought the Xmax. The Yammy fit me better at 6’1” and 32” inside leg. Was tempted by the Forza’s adjustable screen, but the handling on the Xmax was better, particular the cornering on British A and B roads. The Forza’s suspension is plush but felt wallowy in the twisties, and didn’t inspire me with confidence. Both great scooters, but for the kind of riding I do, the Xmax was a better fit. Plus, my Tech Max version has gold wheels!

Unfortunately there are not many bikes left at the dealers for this season and if so, they are pretty far away. So I am trying to collect as much as possible of informations and reviews upfront, before I go for a test-ride. Which bike would you say is easier to handle in parking situations? Surely there is an aftermarket wind screen you can buy and fit on the Yamaha that is larger than the stock one right? I'm sure there is....as for leg room....this is what scares me from buying a scooter....I don't want to look and feel like I am on a child's bike....it's a shame they cannot design these scooters so that you can get your feet out further out front of you.....I believe a flat seat would allow you to scoot back further so that you legs are stretched out more..... I know that you can get a flat seat for the Honda PCX which makes a huge difference but I also heard that seat is harder and uncomfortable... I am 6' tall with long legs.....this is the ONLY reason I am researching the Maxi scooters.....because the Honda PCX is all anyone needs if they are just riding back and forth to the job which is not far from home and riding around town with all the lower speed limits here in the USA....then again....the interstate speed limits of 55 - 70 are speeds the PCX can easily handle and it is only a 150cc scooter.....

    Nice comparison, but what about size? At 185cm I found the Forza a bit small and I had to slump when riding it . Have only sat on the XMax but it felt more roomy for me.
    In the end I decided to buy the Forza....750!

    • @paulnorman8274
      @paulnorman8274 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The XMax is roomier for taller people. Its seat is both tall and wide enough to not be ideal for shorter people. Especially not in tight, paddling maneuvers. But the more upright seating, and perhaps the softer springs, is less punishing on the lower back. Compared to the Forza 750, and any proper Maxi, they're both lower-back punishers, though.
      While a bit bigger and more unwieldy in the tightest of cities, the Honda 750s are just amazing all around bikes. I got the new, lower, more scooter like, NC instead of the Forza, but they're pretty much the same bike (I got the DCT). The Forza has even better weather protection, to the point where you can commute in nice attire without much concern (for anything but safety). But makes it harder to stand up on the pegs over speed bumps... Still have the XMax, but aside from occasionally being able to park it in spots too tight for the Honda, I generally prefer the 750. Parking can also work both ways. Sometimes I can get up on curbs to park on the 750, which are tall enough to high center the Yamaha. And bigger wheels roll up taller curbs.

I can definitely say that under normal daily usage. Any scooter is faster, way more practical and generally efficient than it's immediate motorbike counterpart!

    I rented both in Thailand. First the XMax, and was very impressed by how fast it was. Only downside I could find was the seat was a little too low for me (I'm 185cm tall). Next I rented a Forza and it seemed very slow for it's engine size. Much slower than the XMax. The acceleration seemed similar to a 150cc scooter. This was a big disappointment, and annoying on a day trip through the mountains where I had to choose times to pass cars as if I was driving a car. The XMax would have ripped through those mountains and passed cars like a rocket. Unless I had a bad example of a Forza, I would never consider owning one.

    xmax ok for short persons; needs 15 cm more leg-foot room or a flat seat !

      I know you can get a flat seat for the Honda PCX....never checked for other scooters....but the one for the PCX is hard and not very comfortable at all.....but I have long legs and am 6' tall and this is what is keeping me from a scooter right now....trying to find one that is best for tall people....don't want to look like I am riding a child's bike!!

    La X Max 300c.c. lleva en el mercado desde abril del 2.017 y dudo que la Forza 350c.c. le supere en ventas. De precio están a la par y yo a día de hoy me quedaría la X Max con los ojos cerrados.

      I agree with you. despite the fact that I do not have a large stature 1.77 m I find the space for the legs too tight. The part of the foot rest goes up much too perpendicular in the forward position. With the Honda you can pee your feet in 3 ways. With the Yamaha only in two ways. The Honda is more luxuriously finished. I do think that the Honda has a bit too many buttons on the handlebar side, which gives a messy impression and can sometimes cause a mistake.

    • @MarkLoris
      @MarkLoris 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I highly disagree the Yamaha is made better and rides way more comfortable .,.better gas mileage ....feels and IS faster ....corners much much better on the rural roads .....look at the cheap T-bar attached to the front steering and then look at the 4 points of build the Xmax has on its front end.....more work more metal much safer .....no comparrasin after you take off plastic middle cover and LOOK at handle bars .......HONDAS you can see without taking off nothing !!!!!
