Apprehensive as heck to go to this track, but looks so damn fun

Hello there can you do long trips with this bike ?

A 38-40mm tire with a characteristic tread would not only solve the Brommie cobblestone problem (which Bromptonists face very often in city centres), it would make riding more comfortable in general - and it would make off-road makeable to a certain degree (which campers face often with their Bromptons). I would have expected such a tire with the Brompton "explore" (which was just green and brown + a bag and that's all what was "explourish"!?). Why not a cooperation with Conti, Schwalbe or whomever for such a tire? I know several board discussions people asking for such a tire for their Brommies.

I wrote dirt bikes as a kid and early teenager but didn’t get back into it until I was 31 years old. I bought a 2006 YZ250 with every Bolton you could ever want and that was my first bike on the track. I’m better now but it was certainly humbling getting used to that thing on a proper motocross track

I've just bought an XSR pick it up in a few weeks after my holiday, same colour as yours which i think is the best colour. I can't wait to get out on the road again 🏍

I have the x-max 250 since 2006, no problems with it yet - only oil change and a rubber pipe that got old, tires changed (all service done at home), I like it's narrow body and the huge space under the seat - two helmets + some extra, that I can keep luggage between my legs when shopping exceeds the space under seat. Gas costs about 20€ per month, I can park anywhere without any costs and the moment I step down I'm a pedestrian, without need to carry helmet, gloves or wear special boots or pants. I'm leaning towards the x-max 300, I have the money to buy it but I see no reason to switch except for the looks. I have another 3 motorcycles - one 1200cc, one 660cc and one 500cc but these are only for fun - the scooter is the everyday utility vehicle.

Good stuff, thanks for posting. I'm surprised you didnt use any threadlocker or anti-seize on the axle. Also, did you tourque the sprockets? I'm not sure what the manual calls for there.

What go pro settings you using, max stabliser? 4k 60fps? What colour options with that filter? Thanks!

1.5 liters for saturated filter, 1.6 liters for fresh filter at the end of every two oil chnage intervals - is what the manual meant, no need wasting oil rinsing it, just put 100ml more in for the new filter.

We all start somewhere but yeah not the best bike to learn on but you got what you got and you keep on goin and building up.

I'm thinking of going from 50 to 52 on the rear... what are your thoughts?

Anyone got any idea why mine won't reset? The "oil serv" warning came on so not sure if that changes things. I've changed the oil and filter.

The storage space is a big advantage. That's a huge space under the seat. Could probably do a good sized grocery run, or a weekend trip somewhere.

Hello! Quick question. It looks like you have the comfort seat? On a 1-10 scale where would you say it is on a comfort level compared to the standard seat? I heard that the comfort seat steals some of the front storage area compared to the standard seat due to the extra foam, but I haven't been able to confirm, since it seems like I can't find that comfort seat where I'm from and would have to ship it from overseas.
