    I went with the Hybrid, taking delivery next month. AWD would have been nice but a good set of snow tires will do just fine. Also excited that I can haul full-length 2x material (with a bed rack) and sheet goods but get decent mileage when I’m just getting places… it’s just a good all-around vehicle

      Yeah 100%, FWD with a good set of tires will due just fine indeed

    My 22 Hybrid got 39 all day long in Montana...80 mph with the air on...Hybrids are designed for city stop n go...45 mpg is normal...I do DoorDash every day..

    Trying to decide between an AWD Ecoboost and a FWD hybrid, same price and year. I drive to work 37 miles ome way 3 days a week. Your thoughts? I like the towing capability of the AWD

    • @maverickresource

      dang, thats very tough. The AWD has pretty bad MPG. SO I would say if you are looking for good fuel efficiency def go with the hybrid. If fuel efficiency is priority 3 or 4 than AWD it is. AWD is such a fun truck, but with the AWD tremor I have i am now averaging 19mpg

      The tremor loses gas mileage but gains off road capabilities. The tremor loses payload capacity and also towing capabilities. 2000 max towing on the tremor you can get a 4k tow but not on the tremor package. It's to much equipment that's added with the tremor package. I know it has a different gear ratio, one inch lift, larger upgraded all terrain tires and a different front end that increases it's approach angle. No there is a lot lot more but these few upgrades will and has affected fuel economy. Guessing it reduced aerodynamics and increase friction with larger all terrain tires. Just it takes a hit on posted mpg

    With the AWD Hybrid coming out for the 2025 model year, I'm curious to see if the hybrid is more fun to drive with the AWD setup.

    Been waiting for a Maverick AWD EcoBoost Lariat Lux 4K tow package and a moonroof 19+ months my third build date is 2/20/23. I’m not holding my breath. Enjoyed your video, thanks.

      Good luck on the wait. I am waiting for the tremor...but I am not holding my breath.

    Your mileage difference is a bit better than you stated. The numbers you show at 4:29 indicate that the hybrid is getting about 51% better mileage than the EcoBoost version.

    I have the hybrid and picked it up a couple weeks ago. Averaging 40 on it with normal driving on country 2 lane roads going 57-63. If I want a more powerful driving experience, I have an '18 Ford F150 Ecoboost 4X4 that goes like a bat out of hell. Or my '04 Chevy Silverado 1500 W/T plow truck 5-speed w/4.8L V-8. For everyday driving as a real estate broker the Mav hybrid gets the job done just fine and have done some high speed freeway driving with it...a little more power than my wife's '21 Honda CR-V Hybrid. No issues keeping up with traffic but mileage does drop into the 30s going 65+ just like our CR-V Hybrid. I could not justify the Mav Ecoboost because the minor MPG difference between it and my F150 2.7EB didn't justify the the smaller truck in Ecoboost form. I get 19 in winter and 22 in summer with the F150 and I am no racer but not a featherfoot either. If I was in CA using their primarily high speed expressways, I would have just stuck with the EB F150 I have and not even bothered with the Mav. Best use case for hybrid Mav is primarily 55mph secondary roads and city driving with limited high speed interstate. But even going 73 I am getting 36 using the ACC (have a Lariat Lux). Ford hit a home run on this product...excellent economy, comfort, and decent power combined...and the Copilot 360 system is more refined than the one on our Honda. Some tweaks needed from Ford on interior material quality but, let's face it, it's a 34K truck in 2023. The B&O sound system is excellent. Bottom line whether you go hybrid of EB, Ford hit it out of the park with this product...evidenced by how hard it is to get these things. Still 5K+ over MSRP on most lots around here if you didn't order one. I ordered mine in Sept 22 and received it finally June '23. Had an awesome dealer who gave me $1500 off because they felt bad how long I waited (Big Valley Ford in Ewen Michigan...5 stars). What an awesome little truck for every day driving...I love this thing...but make no mistake...I still love my F150. Excellent video--thank you sir!

      Oh yeah, if you have a 4x4 F150, no need for the 2.0 awd Mav. The Hybrid is amazing for everyday driving.
      But for someone that is looking to do some off-roading fun and snow driving (and the Mav is their only vehicle) the AWD system is amazing. Like a Subaru truck haha

    • @nwrp
      @nwrp ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@maverickresource that’s a very good point. As my only truck, I would have either stayed with F150 or got the EB Mav with FX4 and 4K tow. Would have also considered the Tremor but you lose 2K of towing.

    • @maverickresource
      @maverickresource  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nwrp I have a tremor (thankfully) being built this month. so that will become the daily driver. Although I still think the 2.0 EB should still get better gas mileage than it does. (to your point, I would never have considered the tremor if i towed anything on the regular)

    This was very helpful for me. I’m also in California and I do mostly highway driving for work plus going into Escondido’s hills to see family often. My sister in law warned that full ICE vehicles are going to start getting taxed higher soon, can anyone confirm that?

    Interesting video. I go back and forth on switching away from the hybrid. Most mavericks I have driven are EB AWD and they are fun to drive. Would be nice to get the City MPG mileage though.

    • @maverickresource
      @maverickresource  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hear you on that. I feel like the maverick hybrid was a truck made for the city. --tight and compact-- and if you are in a legit crowded city, you will probably never go over 45 mph and can try and stay in "electric only" the whole time haha...at least that's how I imagine it going.

  • @phire4694
    @phire4694 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Also in cali and I disagree with you the maverick hybrid is amazing in la traffic. Since traffic is slow I can stay on the battery longer

    • @maverickresource
      @maverickresource  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well what do you disagree with...because i agree with you 100%. If I lived in LA and was always in traffic I would DEFINITELY drive hybrid. The hybrid shines in slow traffic. Good choice! I am usually on more open freeways going fast, so while driving the hybrid, I always wanted to go slower haha

    • @phire4694
      @phire4694 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@maverickresource I was disagreeing with the part where the hybrid wasn’t very good on highways. It just has to be highways with traffic lol

    So if I'm doing mostly highway driving when I commute to work the EcoBoost will serve me just fine?

  • @douglasflandermeyer1659
    @douglasflandermeyer1659 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I dont know how you managed that. I have 21k on my hybrid, and am averaging 38 mpg. I did a road trip from OK to OR, at 80 mph, and got 33.6. Outside of Ca, we have non ethanol fuel that performs much better. Maybe that's it. IDK. How close do you get to ratings on other cars?

    Our front wheel drive CMax has terrible steep uphill traction while our four wheel drive electric can go up any hill that doesn’t require a high ground clearance vehicle. I realize that something like a Bronco would be awesome! (Not the Bronco Sport that’s a disguised Escape front wheel drive vehicle)

  • @billquattlebaum1577

    Your mileage for the Ecoboost is much less than most reviews I have read. The EPA rating is 22 city and 29 highway for the AWD Ecoboost. The EPA for the front wheel drive is 23 city and 30 highway.

    • @maverickresource
      @maverickresource  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, for both my AWD Ecoboost and the previous Hybrid I have, I find I get less MPG than stated. I live in a very hill'y area and my commute most days is driving up hills and then not being able to go down them efficiently due to stop lights (very frustrating). I also don't pussy'foot the gas either

    oh by the way, Walmart gas out performs any here in Idaho...
