I’m honored to have been involved in the build of this badass car. Not only was it fun working with all my friends at RJ Fab, it was also special to do it for one of the most generous, coolest guys in the hobby, Ken Johnson. Thanks for all times you bought pizza and Subway and made phone calls late in the night and parts magically showed up the next day. Count me in on your next build!
Miss my '72 Nova. Was my 1st car @ 15. Was my grandmother's car from new until she died in '88. My sister drove it to senior yr HS then to 2 yrs of college and banged it up. Being broke 15\16 yr old I used auto body shop classes at local HS nearby and redid the body, replaced the motor and trans along with most of interior. Friends who had left over Nova parts, local junkyards with Chevy muscle cars, and lots of own hand work got it looking decent ready for paint in gray primer and black painted hood & trunk. Motor was weak. Trans was an insanely built th350 by a friend's older brother @ Benchmark Transmissions. Chirped third d gear @ 70moh. Laid patches hitting 2 and gear. Was all transmission as motor was built cheap by a couple of hacks a speed shop recommended (never again speed shops). The setup on this '71 Nova is how I wanted mine pretty much. Just different color paints and wanted to keep most chrome. Love seeing nicely done Novas that aren't hidden basket cases with fake SS badges in every panel and all over the interiors. Same w/Chevelles. Rock what you got proudly. Stop with the SS, COPO, and YE KO garbage builds. Do people actually drive them? Take them to car shows and act like they got 1 of 69 specially built cars? With single rear leaf springs and a tach bolted to the dash, lol.
Truly amazing attention to detail on this beautiful Nova. Incredible inspiration for us, little guys building cars in our backyards to see what is possible is an amazing blessing. Keeping the dreams alive, people. Get out there and build your dreams.

Every step forward is progress, and we even made a TH-cam channel to show our grandchildren how far these cars have come. One day, they will be there's.

Awesome build. The team of masters couldn't be better. I always love the regular guy builds cus I'm just a regular guy, but when you get a group of masters on one build and they work well together you can't deny the outcome .

Ryan. I've had the pleasure of knowing Shawn, Chris, and Paul (ATLA founders) for over 5 years and have been on multiple shoots with them. Your words ring true. They treat everyone equally and make the garage builder to the billionaire feel like Rockstars! These guys are going places!
Masterpiece. Everyone has an opinion, here is mine plus constructive reasoning. I love the electronic dashboards... hidden away for quick tuning in a glovebox or center console, or fold out faux radio....(hint hint). But I like my real gauges in the dash. The only "tech" thing I'd want in my dash is a Gear Gauge with a sequential, or a "Shift Bar" nicely hidden in a spot that is clear to see when it does begin to illuminate.
What an awesome build. It is so cool to see so many total pros come together on something like this. My only complaint: you said "shitty California roads". Are you kidding me?? If those are "shitty", what do you call this crap here in Ohio?? 😂 Joking aside, great episode, awesome car. Thanks for sharing!

Novas are my absolute favorite cars and this one is by far one of the most badass ones I’ve seen to date.
