Nice job Bud! New subscriber here from southwest Tennessee. Ive been a 68-69 Chevelle nut my entire life, and never cared much for the Nova's. However, over the last 5 or so years, they have been growing on me. They're my second favorite muscle car now. Hopefully one day, I will have the means to own, if not a Chevelle, maybe a Nova. They are still alot more affordable and easy to find, than a Chevelle. Mainly because they kept the same body style from 68-74. Much more plentiful. My dream car is and will always be a 69 COPO Chevelle L71/M22, in Hugger Orange, black vinyl top, painted steel wheels and dog dish caps. My plans have been to find a 69 Malibu or 300 and make the closest COPO clone as possible out of it.
Man, if a feller can't be happy about that, he can't be happy!! Y'all did a great job and the fab work was absolutely flawless!!! CONGRATS!! I'm getting ready to tackle a 72 Grand Prix, and hopefully I won't have to dig as deep as you did, wish me luck!!! New Sub by the way.
I think this was for sure a save over a revival ,when they are found like this they are for sure a save . I like the saves over revivals for sure . But at the end of the day it's just good to see them get back on the road.
Thanks Ray! It’s getting pretty darn cold here in Jersey so I’m not sure how much ripping around I’ll do in it but the drag strip will be open again in march so you will definitely be seeing it make a hit then!
My '69 Swinger had rubber floor covering. Came out of Central Texas, but had spotted the front footwells being rotten from water getting trapped under the mat. We cut out the entire floor, replaced it. Even put in the 4-speed hump. Now it has subframe connectors, torque boxes, mini tubs (just to the rear rails), the thicker, reinforced core support. I really can ID with you saying "I'm into this a lot more than I thought I'd be..." lol

After I looked at a 68 Nova I like it better than the 69 because the key is in the dash not the steering column. That’s the only way I could tell them apart the interior. Key on the dash is more old school. Maybe get a dash for a 68 and put it in your 70 !!!!!!!! 😮 just a thought
We went and looked at this car as a joke but while inspecting it and seeing the condition of the floors and frame rails we almost felt like we HAD to buy it and put it back on the road.

I have owned my 1972 Nova since 1993 was my daily driver for years, unfortunately its been sitting for way too long but im going to be working on it when i can because i miss driving it . God Bless and look forward to your other videos
This thing is freaking cool! I helped a buddy do the exact same thing with a 68 Camaro he stumbled upon in one of his neighbors barns after the guy passed away. it was a low mile 6 cylinder car that was missing a drivetrain and was other wise in pieces. I borrowed a trailer from work and hauled the thing to his house with my 81 Chevy K20. He found a 305 and a th350C from an 80's ElCamino, we went to swap meets for random parts and got the thing driving in like 6 months.
Thanks man! I’m super glad I wasn’t afraid to try and tackle it I was impressed with how I did on it. I have a project coming up that I may do a full floor pan replacement on. I have heard that it can actually be easier then trying to “patch” the floor like I am typically used to doing. Guess we will see!

@@hatchsrecreationalengineer1997 not a doubt. I have this thing. When I get old vehicles happening I always install a Delco Remy alternator. IMO everything else is crap when it comes to alternators. Sooo cool. Awsome to see one from the grave to back to the streets. The whole build in one video. Can’t watch to see it in the strip. I just picked up a 72 nova and about to start the build!! Keep up the good videos
Thanks man! (Yea I’m not proud of the roof repair either) who knows maybe later down the road we will go back and fix it the “right” way but for now it works!
I had a 69 Nova in high school in 72. I bought it from my mother she replaced it with a 67 Chevelle Anyway it had a 307 Small blocks spin up quick. It had a two speed transmission I never got beat by 350 Camaros with 4 speeds while they were double clutching and shifting my Powerglide was in full motion it shifted at 70 mph so all the time it took for them to shift I was pulling away. When I got it I put cragars on it 6” in the front 10” deep dish in the rear I cut the exhaust off as soon as the y turned straight and I put short THRUSH MUFFLERS on it. It sounded bad and it was. Everyone told me 307 2 barrels were junk but when we raced all they saw were tailights HAVE FUN WITH YOUR NOVAS. Mine was gold with black interior. The only other time General Motors used 69 Nova gold was in 1964 Cadillac’s it was a unique color and I loved it ENJOY !!!!!!!
Totally enjoying your 70 Nova revival. I'm currently doing a similar ( in several ways) of my 71 Nova ,after a fire from engine bay wiring harness to in and under dash to everything in the interior. I took all of the front frame off and rebuilt everything including the frame mount holes. We all know how they tend to dissolve in time! New dashtop, dash front, wiring, windshield ,headliner.Front and rear seat upolstory(coming) Once I got into it I decided on a total "everything" front suspension rebuild, front brake all new rebuild. I've had 5 two door Novas (69to71 year units.) Alwaysss scrounging for parts:) The quest goes on. Keep up the cool Nova stuff and vids, nice low budget work! :)
It’s great to see it all come together for you! You saved one and brought it back to life for sure! I like the old school stance jacked up in the back also! Looking forward to more updates. Happy Holidays
👍 I love what you did. I am located right in North tip of Delaware . Let me know if you are ever selling a 68-72 Nova that you have put some love into to. I had a '72 as my 1st car, my grandma's original Nova. Pee green 2 dr, power glide, only options were power steering and green tinted glass. Wish I would have been able and capable to keep it and do what I wanted to it. I did a lot of work to it with little time and money while in Highschool. Barely any rust. I took it to highschool body shop class for metal work. I have only had a single car garage with zero width to do any kind of body work indoors. Most importantly, my county won't allow a non inspected vehicle outside on your property with zero parking anywhere except driveways and street but must be kept in a garage if not inspected and registered. So you can only pull the car out of garage for like a day or 2 then it has to go back in garage. Why I'm looking to move. I want to take welding classes and do what you're doing. I can tell you access to so many parts cars you can strip as needed is a HUGE help. There was a junkyard down the street that specialized in pre 1990 vehicles. But they have since switched to vehicles from 1980 - 2000. So I lost my parts department. You do great work. I enjoy your builds. I just came across this video so I got many vids to go back through. Keep bringing 68-72 Novas back from the dead. I woulda wrote off this 72 for putting back on the road and stripped the front clip and other salvageable components and let it sink, lol. Great work man. Oh, you'll learn who to trust working on what. Some people are great at doing suspension, brakes, engine, metal work but can't do interior, glass, or trim work. And vice versa. Finesse vs brute force. Many can't do both. Some can do it all. Usually comes down to patience.
I appreciate that you are saving these cars that 90% of people would write off.
Thanks Shane!
Your videos are funny and informative. Some of them should have a disclaimer "Not to try this at home". Keep the videos coming and also the laughter.

I’d personally like so see it be more of a street/strip car than a race car, but you what makes you happy.
Thank you so much for saying that. I too hope that the video does well and helps to inspire people to save some of these cars that may appear to far gone. I have such a blast making the videos that it’s awesome to see other people enjoy them. Maybe this car will have more of a street/strip life in the future we will have to see. Thanks for subscribing!
awesome video!! when you have a carb fire, just turn the motor over. that is the best way to put it out.
im speechless..could start you're own gig. probably already have. love my 71 its got a l31 5.7. fun little ride
Haha thanks man! I do not have my own gig. I’m just a guy who loves wrenching on these old cars. I guess you could say my gig is filming my projects and posting them for you guys. Glad you enjoyed it
man u did a awesome job frfr. actually got me motivated to get outside today in wrench on mine.
they definitely conversation starters when out and about in them.
@@trayevans9381 heck yea man! That’s why I make the videos! Help motivate people and show them any task is achievable on these old cars if they are willing to try it themselves.
Sooo cool. Awsome to see one from the grave to back to the streets. The whole build in one video. Can’t watch to see it in the strip. I just picked up a 72 nova and about to start the build!! Keep up the good videos
Geez. Super impressive. You deserve more subscribers
.
Very cool, you did a pretty good job (except for the roof repair lol). Keep up the good work
Thanks man! (Yea I’m not proud of the roof repair either) who knows maybe later down the road we will go back and fix it the “right” way but for now it works!
Love your craft/content.
Thanks Steve! Glad you enjoy the content!
Totally impressed! great job!
What an awesome job
Thanks Russell!
The only other time General Motors used 69 Nova gold was in 1964 Cadillac’s it was a unique color and I loved it
ENJOY !!!!!!!
That car looks awesome nice work !
that's my DREAM car
Great job....looks awesome
Thanks! Glad you like it!
I gave it a like as soon as I saw you thawing the diff.😂
Hahaha that was the best part! $17 flame thrower at harbor freight lol.
Looks good on your Rebuild. Great Job.
future reference, Oven Off is an amazing degreaser. 2 applications, and bam its spotless.
