That sheet metal work is off the charts. That is a lot of customization and I can greatly appreciate that. To me, that spoiler and rear bumper exhaust cutouts ruin it though... They look super out of place
Yeah, especially since GM typically painted rear spoilers body color. I think I could live with the exhaust, but I'd like to see the spoiler painted or removed. Id have to see the car out in the real world to know how I feel about it though. Sometimes things look alot better in person
To each their own and I appreciate the effort but the tailpipes/bumper would never have gotten the go ahead from me……it just doesn’t look right at all. I don’t hate the spoiler but I certainly wouldn’t miss it if it was gone. Everything else though and the thought process behind the mods is off the charts
Yeap , i agree with you the spoiler and exhaust cutouts ruins the rear look of the car , at the very least i would of done the exhaust cutouts rectangular , with no spoiler .
if they went with square cutouts for the exhaust in the rear bumper (similar to the front bumper) it might have looked better, looks kinda weird with the square tail lights, but i also prefer two exhaust pipes under the rear bumper.
Man my first car was a 69 nova with the 2 speed power glide and straight 6 engine, it had power steering, but 4 manual drum brakes(no booster)...and my dumbass put 4" shackles in it to jack it up for the American racing wheels. She was gray primer, black bumpers and interior with bucket seats.....memories! I'm positive that he will love that car all decked out!!
The highest amount of respect for Strope builds.....the countless hours of work that went into this and all cars Strope does.....a 1 of a kind builder for sure.....I just stand back and say wow!
Such an incredible build. The attention to detail Steve Strope has is as good as it gets. The pure happiness that you show in these videos is one of the best parts. I am envious to no man, but the job you have, and the people you call your friends is one of a kind. I’ve said it before you have created an incredible space to be in for any human being that loves cars. Keep the content coming.
I love Strope's vision of his retro-rods, how they keep the essence of the original with a modern driving experience with the mix of vintage and hidden modern on the inside and the vintage style body made even more beautiful.
This has got to be one of the most ultimate street machine retro mods ever. Every amenity you could ask for plus 650 horse and 3 pedals. I can’t imagine the sheet metal hours. Hats off to you, Strope.
This has to one of the best, if not The Best overall build ever displayed on this channel. I truly think you could put 200k miles on this car without anything more than basic maintenance and have a smile plastered on your face each and every time. World Class.
My God, what amazing craftsmanship and Engineering. The sheer talent and brain power behind that work of art is astonishing. God bless all the hands that touched that car. Please bring us more to enjoy.
I think that is one of the cleanest, most beautiful looking Nova I've ever seen. It really is a work or art. I noticed the Camaro lines on the side bodywork straight away they trail off the arches. Absolutely stunning! It doesn't get any better.
Of all the Phenomenal, Bad Ass, Cars you've featured on your program, this Nova to me, could be my favorite. It's got it all in all the correct proportions.
I was thinking the same. ..... mmmmm ...maybe if it was body color .....also while I love the rear bumper tailpipe treatment something also seems really off ....either it is too tall (bottom-to-top) ...or the tailpipe outlets are to big ..or high up..the whole bumper just doesn't fit/flow like the front ...
This car is perfect! It is the nicest driver yall have shown. I would drive the wheels off of it, rebuild her and do it again, and I never thought I would say that about that year nova. Thank you so much for featuring this one!
I can appreciate every second of craftsmanship that went into this build, the work, fit and finish is impeccable. The creative thinking went in as well. It is in no way my taste, it just doesn't have the Nova appeal, the exhaust in the bumper just turns me off. I don't want to rip on it or pick it apart. The detail, thought, execution all is just phenomenal and perfection. I hope the guy that wrote the checks likes it though. Thank you for sharing this with is, the underbelly is my favorite part of the build. So creative, so well thought and planned. Incredibly built. No disrespect meant. Just not my flavor.
I visited Steve’s shop about 10 years ago, he had the Fairlane in bare metal and that twin-turbo Camaro was recently completed at the time. What a super nice, welcoming guy who took time out of his day to show me around and the craftsmanship in the cars was truly incredible.
This car is wild. I cant believe all the different things that were thrown into this and it all looks restored to its natural state (to a degree). Amazing looking car man
Excellent episode and one of the best builds of the year. The metal work is amazing. They mold metal like it’s clay. True artist and one of the great auto designers.
I watch the episodes of hand built hot rods on this build. It was even more impressive that it was revealed in bare metal. I see that it's painted now. I would have sealed it in a natural looking finish to show more of the top notch metal work that was done for this build. I love you Steve. You are the builder of the my number 1 favorite/dream car. The gtx, Hammer!!!
I got to meet Mr strope a while back when he created the hammer roadrunner. He's a man of detail, he loves a nice ride as well as a smooth engine even at 700hp levels, Nelson's engines are for brute Force and reliability. Another perfect build
Love to see what comes out of Steve's head. The sheet metal work is something else. Couldn't imagine what getting to work with Steve would be like to design and have a car built. Way out of my checkbooks capability. I'd be scared to drive something that custom. The first ding or scratch would be frustrating.
I had a 69 SS Nova in red, black vinyl top, 350. I did the same thing to my rear fender wells to make it more like a Chevelle. Then I sold it to my friend who dropped in a big block and wrapped it around a pole.
I f***ing love Steve Strope’s designs. All his cars just come out to look so badass but not obnoxious or over the top. If I had half a mill to build a car like this, he’d def be the guy I went to.
Must’ve been a real chore to only make a 22 minute video about this car. You could go on for hours and still not cover everything. The craftsmanship is mental.
Definitely a piece of art work. Steve is a master of the craft. Joe is one lucky dude to have the funds to make a fantasy car like this NOVA. I remember Joe having a cuda built for him. I think he named it SICK FISH. SURE WOULD LOVE TO SEE THAT CAR IN A FUTURE VIDEO EXCELLENT video. Been waiting to see that NOVA
I never saw anyone besides myself do the Nova rear fenderwells like I did. Your body lines are cool. What I did was find 2 front fenders (R/L)and cut the fenders lips off, I put the right lips on the left side and vice versa, and had a friend weld them on. Wish I had photos of it, fun project. These are great quarter mile cars.
Was dreaming about my original ‘69 427 Vette in this man’s shop getting modernized with new suspension and stuff. F’n epic. Thanks for the dream vids. Best channel for this type of car geek stuff! ❤
I know the term “complete package “ is term that has been applied to many a ground up custom built car. I really do feel that Steve, Joe and all involved in this build of this oh so subtle and amazing hot rod have really set the mark for any car to have the term “complete package“ attached to it. Bravo amazing amazing hot rod.
Now please tell me,just how frozen over hell will be when " they mandate " you making it electric ? Thought so.This is one outstanding work of Art !!!!!!!!!!! Amazing.
Putting 69 Camaro panels on the best Nova is genius. I can hear the wheels turning in the heads of car builders going " what other cars can we put those wicked 69 panels on???" I'm thinking it myself. Well done Steve unbelievable build mate. And it's always funny AF watching you two blokes.👍
Steve Strope is a amazing designer. I’ve watched this episode several times. Joe Rogan’s new Nova is stunning. Steve’s vision never ends. He molds metal like clay. He has the vision . Great episode and great car Thank you
When you get to the point where it is driving, those body lines are AMAZING! You can see everything he mentioned! What a awesome car! Truly love your videos!
It's so cool that not just the world has craftsman like Steve it's a joy that people with real money like Joe Rogan love old school muscle cars enough to drop serious dough to make what are really works of art , i cant see a tesla being lovingly worked in 2074 like this!!
My absolute favorite video and car. You all are amazing. Joe is very lucky to own a beautiful piece of art work and amazing engineering .. And thanks to autotopia for making this video.
That's different, good 👍 sound and imagination. It's beefy, chrome tips, phenomenal so much thought went in to this Nova. Thanks again Shawn for a fantastic informative 👍 video
2:25 into the video let's talk about Steve's "Vision" ie body mods !!! I was impressed when I saw the mods being done on another Video/Show a while back !!! Seeing it in Paint and fully complete and assembled !!! Wow👍 !!! Nice , Good Job Steve & Crew !!! PS Nice P.T. Steve !!!
The 69 Camaro sheet metal and body lines achieved the factory & custom concept beautifully and that alone would have been enough to set this Nova’s appearance apart from any other. Strope nailed it on that aspect buuut, the bumper exit exhaust tips are a bad eye sore and I don’t remember them there when they originally revealed the car in the raw metal finish. I feel like that had to be something Joe Rogan requested and they gave him what he wanted. Now the rear spoiler maybe could take some to getting used to, but It also interrupts the flow and attention to detail put into the 69 Camaro fender and quarter skins that were masterfully incorporated to the cars design. Everything else is spot on. I especially love the wheels, I reminds me of Mark Stielow’s 69 Camaro “The Mule”.
Above and beyond what you’d ever think a Nova could be 👊🏻 You guys are blessed with such fantastic car builders of all kinds in the states. Love it Peace and thank you for another killer video 🤙🏼

Guys Garage. That rear spoiler is Plymouth Volarè Road runner
if they went with square cutouts for the exhaust in the rear bumper (similar to the front bumper) it might have looked better, looks kinda weird with the square tail lights, but i also prefer two exhaust pipes under the rear bumper.
Always cool hearing Steve Strope talk about his builds, he's a real detail geek
Man my first car was a 69 nova with the 2 speed power glide and straight 6 engine, it had power steering, but 4 manual drum brakes(no booster)...and my dumbass put 4" shackles in it to jack it up for the American racing wheels. Pure love - Steve can build em. The silver is great
Love Steve, he's a character. Oh right, dont forget to say "This is one of my favorite builds by Steve/PureVision"
The highest amount of respect for Strope builds.....the countless hours of work that went into this and all cars Strope does.....a 1 of a kind builder for sure.....I just stand back and say wow!

Shawn shaking his head in disbelief at the sheet metal work. Yup.
This build is a work of art
Joe Rogan has a mad taste in cars. Would love to see his collection in full one day! Another banger Shawn🤙🏿
I keep finding random suggested videos about cars I didn’t know he had lol. I’d love to see a full collection video too.
I still love his sick fish! Especially the revamped version by Troy. Didn’t think it could get better, but it did from the original.
This has got to be one of the most ultimate street machine retro mods ever. Every amenity you could ask for plus 650 horse and 3 pedals. I can’t imagine the sheet metal hours. Hats off to you, Strope.
Crazy how bad it looks.

There is nothing more beautiful than old American cars, the world of cars is an endless love
A dream brought to life. I imagine the conversations that inspired this car would have been podcast worthy. Love it.

Chevy Nova is my Favorite car in the world! I had Two when I was a kid. Now I want to buy another. This build is crazy awesome.
My God, what amazing craftsmanship and Engineering. The sheer talent and brain power behind that work of art is astonishing. God bless all the hands that touched that car. Please bring us more to enjoy.

I was sad when Steve had his eye problems. I am glad to see him driving. Steve is awesome.
Why won’t Joe Rogan just adopt me?! This car is a dream brought to life! Wow, just wow.
Insane build Steve and his team blow it out of the park always, some of my favorite builds
I have not seen you since you did a Ford station wagon. You've done it again. Absolutely fabulous.
Amazing how perfectly done the bodywork is. ...and also amazing how ham fisted that spoiler is.
I was thinking the same
Thing lmao
I was thinking the same. ..... mmmmm ...maybe if it was body color .....also while I love the rear bumper tailpipe treatment something also seems really off ....either it is too tall (bottom-to-top) ...or the tailpipe outlets are to big ..or high up..the whole bumper just doesn't fit/flow like the front ...

Been waiting to see this build. Amazing build. You see something different every time you look at this car. A true stunner
JUST THE WINDOW SWITCH ALONE IS INSANE!!!! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL BUILD
I love that window switch. This whole car is amazing to me
J. Rogan is living my dream when it comes to cars. The '69 Camaro, now this...
He hasn't been on forever! I was worried you guys had a falling out, very happy to see him back! Hopefully more of Steve's cars soon
I can appreciate every second of craftsmanship that went into this build, the work, fit and finish is impeccable. The creative thinking went in as well.

They built a masterpiece for sure
I remember watching the build of this car on Motor Trend and only saw it in bare metal, so cool to see it finally finished. A true masterpiece.
I notice the body work before he called it out. Way more work then I was first thinking. Nice shot with the panels lined up.
Steve has always been my favorite custom design car builder, infinitely impressive as always man! A gorgeous meld between the Nova & Camaro!
Yuck
Love steve and his genious mind! Such a joy to hear that man talking about his projects.
Excellent episode and one of the best builds of the year. The metal work is amazing. They mold metal like it’s clay. True artist and one of the great auto designers.
BAD ASS NOVA !! GREAT WORKMANSHIP & ENJOY JOE YOUR BEAUTIFUL NOVA !!! JESSE VIA LAS VEGAS
The work on this car is unreal. True artist worked on this. Joe Rogan must be happy about this one!!
That intro was hilarious and then you flashed a shot of that rear bumper and I was like ON SNAP! 🌶🔥
Damn even the interior is insanely clean.
Your crew is pure Genesis , perfect workman ship . Beautiful Nova
The vision, art ,and work for the skin is amazing... Hats off Sirs.
Yep. They nailed it here
This car is literally on another level seeing it in person. Spent maybe 30 to 45 minutes admiring it at Sema 21. Outstanding work!
There's an insane amount of work and talent in the fabrication of that car. Good Skills.
Some of the best in the business

That car was a POS, a wheel fell off on the highway. And after being in the shop for several problems, he sold it to Reggie Bush.

No exaggeration, this is my favorite car ever built. Ever.
That’s awesome!
That car should have been on the production line in its day. Way better looking than stock.
No doubt!
I think 69 Camaro panel trailing lips and flat wheel arches are arguably one of the best design features on any American muscle car.
Strope is the man. Great work.
The fine details are the work of true wizards. What a ride!

Wow.. That is #1 of 1 in my opinion that is absolutely 💯 custom. Only JR has money for something like that. But thanks for the video
Glad you enjoyed it! Amazing build
I could listen to this guy describe his builds all day long. Amazing car!
He’s such a cool guy and his creativity is bottomless!

Peace and thank you for another killer video 🤙🏼
That is one of the best builds .I like the fact that the ride height is so that you don't have to worry about speed bumps and parking lot entrances.
Wheels are amazing
Pretty sure there's a DPS trooper that'll try to race Joe when he drives this around.
Beautiful build man
As always
WoW,WoW, what a killer build..lucky Joe
It’s such a killer build!
One off form function and finish to an iconic muscle car. Great job SS
Steve Strope is a living legend. Totally underrated and underappreciated. He's on another level in my opinion. Most people wouldn't even notice the amount of work that went into most of his builds. Joe was wise going to him for the Nova.
