I was pretty happy to see you guys put a set of jack stands up under the back half of the car. Just in case it starts to want to rock back and forth, because of the overhang of the trunk end of the car. It was looking a little bit intimidating. Keep up the good work guys
I love rigid rear suspension. My first car had rear suspension that didn't work much until you got to 60mph but it handled winding road like it was on rails and the rear didn't bog down in stop light drags.
You taking me back till I was 14 years old and that is the first hot rod that I worked on is '66 Nova SS 400 small block with a 350 camshaft. We took 17 in wide traction tires and no back and little skinny pro stock tires in the front. Mickey t's and I think we stuck a three-speed in there for racer
Exactly. Why on earth don’t 409s, 421s, 327s, 383s, 289s, 283’s etc, etc, get rebuilt?!!! Are they as fast? WHO CARES!!! Give us true muscle!!! Just my humble opinion.
Now I know these guys are real mechanics, they have the same energy as the guys at the shop down the road who’ve been listening to the same old “The brakes just started squealing this morning!” and “You should warranty my engine for the crap oil you put in my engine 4 years ago!” stories for 20 years.
I spent less money building up my 63 Nova 2 then what I would have spent buying an LS motor other equipment, I took a multi-port fuel injection out of an 86 Camaro which was the 305 kind of hard to get them Camaros LOL took the rear suspension all necessary parts a little bit of money change hands rear end was narrowed down new axle shafts installed and still maintain the original gearing match to the original transmission and 305, all new subframe in independent suspension in the front yes that little 305 make my little lady get up and move just nice
Yes finally somebody that likes to use, narrow wire, using .023, and I use Italian manufactured wire because there's no alloys, and no Splatter, like the USA mandated wire splatters...
Detroit Muscle or Carcass needs to do a Mid-late Muscle car, not a camaro or Vette though.... Something like a 75-79 Nova, a 73-77 Malibu, a 73-76 Cougar/T-bird, a 73-76 Torino or a Dodge Aspen/Plymouth Volare. I'm seeing ALOT of these "Smog Era" Muscle Cars show up to Cruise-ins, Cars and Coffee's and cars shows. There's more than several on the HRPT the last 3-4 years too. They are the HOT build now because they are still cheap, the parts are plentiful, the Aftermarket is catching up to them fast and they have aged out of the smog regs so you can pretty much build them however you want. Just do a simple restoration or build a mild restomod that you can daily drive but still take to a cars and coffee or local car show, nothing CRAZY, just a stock engine mild hopped up or move up to an LS, simple interior, simple wheels and simple paint job. Show people these cars are cool cars for not a whole lot of money.
Just what the world needs another RED car, so sick of red cars. Have hated red cars since 67 when I was six. One day I hope to save a car from being red by stripping all of it's red paint and giving it a nice green or blue hue.
What has happened to these shows? Are there budget cuts, or did someone new get put in charge? You guys are really just giving up on this car because it’s too hard? That is insanity. I know you guys have been ignoring the comments but every new host is unwatchable(Tommy is the best thing these shows have going for them).
I'm with you on the ls swaps. I've owned two that were professionally built and what I spent building them I could have had one bad ass old school big block bilt to the hilt and had more torque and horsepower.
Yeah I knew he was gonna it into a stick. You can't make a fast automatic? You know it's 20024 The technology is there. Don't worry i'm still a big fan of the show but i'm getting sick and Tired Of seeing every car getting turned into Manual.
Love watching Tommy the "Adult Bobby Hill" build cars! All the Nova needs is propane
Lmao
Really enjoy watching Tommy.
That is why I enjoy watching your guys because this type of work is not for the AVERAGE.
I own a 1978 Chevy Nova Sedan ,with a 250 inline 6 engine ,this video will definitely help me some how with my Restoration !!!!
RIP Joe Elmore.
R.I.P JOE
If a chevy two don't make a good hotrod canvas I don't know what does. And old school great like tommy to do the work can't beat that.

Definitely love a Nova!! Perfect car for this type of build. Looking forward to this one. You guys are the best!!
Great Job Guys
Tommy is good ole southern bouy
Love the 60 series cruiser in the opening ❤

thank you for letting us no about this model john
I just finally bought my dads car from his friend i cant wait to get this car going

Kurtmans check out the indestructable gm 4.2 liter multi valve inline six pop. Outpowers the LS. Only needs a turbo.
Red always looks good on small sporty vehicles
Love this show and these guys are badass. The only thing I wish would have been different is to use a real motor. Otherwise, cool.
66, 67 Chevy II is one of the only Chevy body styles I like. Scott Sullivan anyone?

Audio is weird on this one. It sounds like the voice audio was taken out, base added, and then jammed back into 'close enough'.
If only it was as easy as the animation.

money saver front end off bolt right in older s10
or 4 just backhalf it with 2x3 .083 or better square tube?
Your boss doesn't get it about building a special rotisserie...imagine working down-hand instead of over your head.

I had a 74 Chevelle, and they se would be a cool boby style, but a modern twist on a t-bird or a 5.7 hemi in a volare would be great
Great instructions if someone can't learn from yall they shouldn't work on cars at all
Wheres episode 2 !?!???!?!!
Wait a minute ! New guy put assembly lube in the wheel bearing ? Am I that old and I’m missing some new bearing manufacturing process.
I saw that, too...what's the deal there?!?
Probably just during mock up so the bearing isn’t dry
I have to disagree with the Sprint. It may not have had true "muscle car' status. But become the "scrappy mutt" of street racing.
Most of my cars have been sleepers , mild on the outside and all go underneath.
327 350hp is what I prefer.
18.37 A prefab kit a kind of a DUI do it yourself kind of deal. It's not a DUI it's DIY. DUI is when you get pulled over after too many cold ones.
beat me to it!! lol
I stopped the video after that comment and went to the “comments” to see if anyone else caught it! Well done!
Where's the finishing video for the Fat Stack build?
i think theres a full build of that car on this channel that was posted a few weeks ago
@@everettgrover9459 thank you.

Mopars rule !!!!!
Why do the voices sound dubbed? The audio is off??
Hi
you cut out the part where you`r getting all the anti seize off your body 😂
I am so sick of LS engines. With one exception. A 1970 LS6 454. That’s an LS I really love
Do you ever build cars for people would love to now? Please comment back thank you
I wonder what Tommy is up to these days.
What a shocker.. red. Terrible choice
Chevrolet Nova
Well you lost me with your future plans of a LS and 5 speed manual transmission. Color me old school I guess. 🤷🏻♂️
We won't call you old school. We'll call you boring.
@@ekscalybur 👍🏻
@@glockfreak1973yeah I was also bummed that they didn’t swap in a coal burning steam engine
@@FreddyFunderbunz yeah me too
For me Novas a big yes, Chevelles - no thanks.
Lol the paid promotion breaks the app so bad. TH-cam is awful these days. I just wanna learn youtube

Stopped watching just as soon as you said LS so sick of everyone LS swaping
No one cares what you think 😂
It ain't your build.
Yeah they shoulda used a coal burning steam engine because technology is stupid 🙄
Wanna cry my pocket full?
I'm with you on the ls swaps. I've owned two that were professionally built and what I spent building them I could have had one bad ass old school big block bilt to the hilt and had more torque and horsepower.
A little less scripted shop talk would do wonders for these videos. That and a few less paid comments.
Chevrolet's version was much cooler.
Red? The most over used color in the car industry. Resale red hillbilly red, why not not a original color😒

I cant be the only one put off by the bad dubbing...
It’s all talk ,and no action .Actions speak louder than words ,it was just a waste of time watching this video.
Red? Meh, not feeling it. With sooooo many colors out there, you chose red? Why?
