Absolutely phenomenal......I saw them back in the 80s at the Allentown Fairgrounds when they were truly at their peak,......and actually the only thing that has changed is their appearance (cant believe how big Mike Reno got),....but truly the overall sound, musicianship, and performance level is the same here as when I saw them years ago.......they will always be one of my absolute favorite bands.

Saw them with Journey in Nampa ID, in 2012, Loverboy opened for Journey, Mike Reno's voice was, need I say it incredible, Loverboy was as good then, as when I saw them in 86'. They were even more polished, performers, this time around, Mike had gained so much weight though. But man did they deliver the goods. Journey came on after, huge huge big disappointment, lackluster jukebox performance, Arnel didn't sound anything like the album he recorded with the band. He was several octaves off in register, we were confused at his voice, nothing like the Manilla show of 2008 or 2009, where was this voice? It was so not there. We only stayed about halfway through waiting for Journey's performance to improve they didn't, we heard & saw enough. I won't see them again, Arnel's voice is even worse now. Unfortunately Steve Perry is a Counter Tenor, most people are not, it's a more rare singing range that is unique, Steve actually sings damn near as high as a soprano, that's a woman's vocal range. Only person who sings reguarlly in that range as a male is Jon Anderson of Yes. So I've seen recent Mike Reno performances, & he....still sounds great, man took care of his voice good on you sir. I like really good singers, they can make or break a band Robert Plant, Jon Anderson, Geddy Lee, Steve Perry, Paul Rogers, David Lee Roth the esrly years, no better boozier voice than that on those Van Halen albums were incredible. Layne Stayely, Chris Cornell, Daryl Hall, Phil Moog, Gramm Bonnett, Lou Gramm, Paul Rogers, Freddie Mercury, Brian Johnson, Pat Travers, Billy Squier, Robin Zander, Scott Weiland, David Coverdale back in the day not now, Jack Russell, Don Dokken also in his day not now, Sammy Hagar, Richard Page, Roger Waters, David Gilmor, Peter Gabriel, Bono, Sting, Bryan Adams, John Cougar Mellencamp, David Bowie, Rod Stewart, Phil Collins, Dennis De Young, David Byrne Paul Young, Paul Rogers, Michael Hutchence, Collin Haye, Todd Rundgren, Rob Halford, Eddie Vedder, Mike Patton, Ozzy Osbourn, Paul Carrack, Seal, Brad Delp, Jack Bruce, John Bush, Bruce Dickinson, John Wetton, Brent Smith, Roland Orzball, Maynard James Keenan, Ed Kowalszchic something like that from Live, Lenny Kravitz, Sara McClaughlan, Bruce Hornsby, Don Henley, Tommy Shaw, Lawrence Gowan, Ann Wilson of course, Jim Morrison, Richie Valens, Gregg Rollie, Roger Daltrey, Elvis of course, Michael Jackson, Kenny Loggins, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, James La Brie, Bon Scott, Benjamin Orr, Phil Lynott, Rik Ocasek, Claus Meine, Sebastian Bach, Steven Tyler, Lizzy Hale, Gavin Rossdale, Geoff Tate, Chris Martin..... see what these bands have accomplished with these singers.the 😉

Also, grateful to catch them with the original line up once again, being Scott was still alive then. 🙏
Three of their music videos were shot at Albany's Palace Theater back in the early 80s, no fans, just them on the Palace stage. 😎👍

    Good gawd.
Saw this band open for ZZTop in 1980 at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City. They came on and BLEW THE DOORS OFF. They had 2 songs getting serious air play at the time and gave 3 encores at the end of their 60 minute set.
We, and 14,000 others - were in awe.
20 years later they were reduced to this crap.
And 20 years after this crap I sit here and remember what they were in 1980.

Wonderful show, the audience is distracted in part by the newer weaker material, I think. Half the playlist is new songs. This is likely the last year Loverboy ever tried to push their newer songs - the well ran dry for anything they write to live on like the material from their first two discs. Any promotion likely told them, only a few new songs, they are not receptive (and the songs are not high quality).

Jack Blades is a very good singer, Joe Elliott use to be, he's torn his voice up too, you want to sing a long time take care of that voice. Watch what Robert Plant does on the Celebration Day performance just incredible to sing that way at his age. He almost completely destroyed his voice in the early years drugs, smoking, heavy heavy touring schedules, performing when really physically ill. But his voice definetly showed up for the O2 arena performance, that's the way it's done boys and girls 😁
