Ok... I was at that show last night. Understandable that lead singer Mike Reno was not feeling well and not comfortable going forward with his part of the show. When the chant went up for Steve to go on stage to help out, I knew this would be a train wreck. In fact, it turned into a made for TV movie. Steve stepped in, and for a fan coming out of a crowd, he absolutely blew us all away! Steve's performance and his ability to serve the band and songs was pretty incredible- and not at all an easy vocal to replicate. Way to save the night Steve!

Kudos and more kudos to you Steve for absolutely killing it, and to the friend who pushed you up on stage! A once in a lifetime chance to rock it out with one of the best 80's bands ever. You filled a spot that not just any Joe can do, and you did it with unbelievable spontaneous combustion! I look forward to seeing you and your Foreigner tribute band soon, and can't commend you enough for a job well done! I only wish I had been there.
Paul Dean doesn't get the credit he deserves...HE IS the SOUND of Loverboy. He plays subtle riffs in between the chords that accent the vocal and creates the power that makes that rhythm come alive and rock! His lead is truly fire. GREAT GREAT GREAT GUITARIST.
I have played in bands for years and always sang this song, not unlike yourself, I have that vocal range too. This is not the easiest song to sing, even when the pipes are feeling good. You just crushed it. You lived my dream sir! FANTASTIC!
So glad to see this after all this time, I just told my 19-year-old about the story and how we witnessed this. I thought this was all set up, and then Steve took the stage and dominated! It was truly amazing, and then I asked on Facebook if this was real? Somebody said he was a real guy and in a foreigner cover band. I was like what? Then on Facebook I found out he went to the same high school my kids went to LOL. Rock on steve! 🤘🏼🤘🏼This was literally right out of a rockstar movie. Just fucking unbelievable!
EthnHayabusa. He is amazing. Listened to him on Dori Monson show today. He nailed this song. Wish I was closer, we'd come and see your band next month. Way to go
I listened really really carefully......and that MFer's timing was impeccable and he hit just about every note perfectly. How on earth did he pull that off? Hes either heard this song 1000 times since the 80's or the crowd got punked.
Come on you guys ever heard of a pre recorded vocal track ? These guys have been lip synching for decades . Everyone does it , even Ozzy and Justin Beiber .
@@humanactivated1017 Don't be ludicrous. In fact, send us the link that shows Ozzy or Mike Reno lip-synching. And I mean during a real show, not some GAS like American Bandstand or Top of the Pops, etc. (Justin Bieber is a different story as his genre of music is mostly prerecorded BS).

I think many forget or just want to complain but the show must go on. He congratulated him later and Mike had to decide how the next song was going to be done.
Isn't this one of the best things ever? In all the years of going to shows, I've never seen anything like this happen before. Definitely a fans dream come true!
I get why people would be upset paying to see Mike Reno sing. But let’s be fair - this dude stepped up big time, and sounds great! If I were there, I’d prefer this as opposed to cancelling the show
I think we all were at the show too! We were shocked. Some thought this was staged but I can tell you it wasn't and just one hell of a lucky moment for one fan.
I still love them every minute too! Always a great live experience, even in this case. Glad Mike got better from his illness, but was a true fans dream come true moment.
If you notice Mike Reno kind of blew him off and that was an amazing performance to cover Reno's bail out. Didn't even give him props because he knew he got showed up on his own song..he shook his Hand and just started asking someone else if he wanted to come up an sing. He should have kissed his ass for giving the fans a spectacular performance and saved his ass.
The guy goes up cold, hits every step and Reno just gives him a quick handshake and moves on to someone else. How about "Let's give it up for this guy." I was a bit disappointed.
To walk up and take the mic from Chaz Bono would be such an honor. Too bad Chaz couldn't even offer the guy a proper thank you. He is a diva just like his mom!
