I shall keep the feedback in mind for future videos :) Did I miss a kit you think should've been on this list? do you think the order of this list was doodoo? Would you like to see more videos like this? let me know!
Another honorable mention I’d put up for consideration , is the deathwatch veterans box. This was one of the last marine kits released before the advent of the primaris. Their scale is a hair larger than firstborn marines. Thus all of the arms in the kit fit incredibly well on primaris bodies with zero modification needed. Some items may need the symbol of the inquisition scraped off, though most deathwatch members are practically heroes themselves.
@ConversionBeam it's a kit that is probably on its way out, if I were a betting man. Too much good stuff for the cost. Similar to the grey knights kits.
Imo the the best one is the Kakaphron Battle Servitors kit, it's got an unbelievably high amount of bits (including robot arms, weapons, chestplates you can place over marine ones to create a more armoured look, wires, plating for vehichles, and robot heads) I started with mechanicus as my army and 2,000 points into space marines i'm still getting so much mileage out of leftover bits to make my force look amazing. It comes as a dual kit, which is why there's so much of everything
The multipart Sternguard kit really is a thing of beauty but I really can't justify myself getting 5 more of them after the ones from Leviathan since I play Templars... It would be interesting to see GW release a generalist "veteran" upgrade sprue just filled with older helmet marks, purity seals, capes and the like.
The new Sternguard Veterans box is just crazy, by last count it has 15 sets of arm/rifle, 8 helmets (plus bare heads) and 16 shoulder pads as well as shin options. The Company Heroes released at the same time got shafted.
Really happy you put Devastators in, honestly love it for making Primaris scale Devastators, they give so many helmets in it, I still have so many spares left
Are the arms on the Devestators big enough to not look ridiculous when attached to Primaris? I plan on kitbashing some Primaris Long Fangs for my Space Wolves, so I'm currently on the hunt for heavy weapons
@macewindu3492 Yes and no. I would say, maybe the arms with holding Grav-cannons may work well to hide it. But I had to use primaris arms for the lascannon. A few can hide the small arms, but it'll take some work
while i understand you wanting all of your guys to be the same scale i dont personally mind and actually have mixed firstborn, (DC, sang guard, tactical squad) heresy, (mk 6) chaos (legionaries, WE) and primaris bits onto different marines. ive learned through this that the shin bits of mst marines are very closely aligned (firstborn bits need a little bit extra on the knee to fit on primaris thighs and primaris knees are good for forward stepping poses as they are just that little bit larger, the torsos can be filed into place and dont look off though they do leave small gaps and primaris arms take firstborn forearms/wrists really well) and honestly its diversified my army so much that i cant beleive how easy it actually is to do
I think it's also worth mentioning Heresy heavy weapon kits; if you want more than two of a weapon and you don't want all those firstborn bodies, you get ten of each weapon plus arms with no fiddly backpack to attach*, and the arms are scaled a little better for Primaris marines. IMO, the Lascannons are a lot cooler. * Whether this is good or bad depends on your personal tastes.
Im collecting a firstborn army with medieval theme and I fell in love with dark angels company veterans. They have lots and lots of very useful and beautiful bits like robes, shields, extra cool looking bolters, backpacks and all of those little ornaments. There is also a little extra sprue which look like a sergeant upgrade for tactical marine? Im not sure but I found extra chanswords and bolt/plasma pistols very handy in making my assault squad and minor characters.
First things, thanks for the tips and ideas! Really appreciate seeing a channel come about purely for converting. Hope to see much more from you. Secondly, the music is too loud compared to your voice. Drop the music tracks volume down by 20-35% in your editor and you're golden!
I just unburied some old Grey Knight leftovers from my Dark Angel Librarius Kill Team to further use them for parts for my future Outriders. Going to give some of my bikers some chainglaives. While typically a Night Lords thing, it just makes sense for bikers to have them.
@@maciejas2471 I’m praying for GW to update the (in my opinion) boring and rigid primaries intercessors box to the level of tactical squad and veteran sternguard

@@ConversionBeam If I come across anymore that I think might be a good shout, I will put something together. In the meantime, this is a great, comprehensive list. Keep it up!
I would add the 10 man Space Marine assault Intercessor kit to the list. It has enough war gear options to give your Sargents the correct load outs. Also plenty of unique character poses as well so plenty of bits to customize a normal Intercessor Squad.
Just the video i needed, thanks for this! The music is loud though, i'm sure you're already aware. I know you can't change it now but I was thinking you could had captions and that would help with the problem. Great video, regardless!

Really nice video, great for someone like myself looking to try out conversions, I would say though you may want to turn the music down a touch, it gets quite loud at points
the rocket backpack with the servo arm on the side is so cool, and perfect for a conversion I had in mind, but I need like 10 of them lmao. i do NOT have the cash to buy 5 of those kits just for one piece I need...
Death Company Marines kit is a good kit for a range of weapons, having almost one of everything outside heavy weps. At one point I was going to magnetize a few boxes but then I decided to use those extra weapon bits for a lot of my intercessor sergeants and captains that came with starter sets and launch boxes and no real weapon choices. Having so many of the same push fit models with the same basic weapons was meh. Instead they all have something different~
