【Sidenote】 Unfortunately I will be very busy from the next week to the first week of October, so I will have to pass up Gogeta (not really a bad thing though since most of my better videos are not Day-1 videos). Clayton (th-cam.com/users/SaishuuKessen ) seems more than ready for Gogeta, so expect some extraordinary stuff from him. Otherwise, if you can’t wait for the official release date of 9/26, many people I followed on Twitter tend to get early access to DLC characters. For example, if you look for Vato’s (twitter.com/Dshiznetzz ) or Progenitor’s (twitter.com/The_progenitor1 ) tweets you might find some very useful combo routes two days before the official release, as they’ve done for the past few DLC characters. I guess Hex (twitter.com/HexPro99 ) and KenDeep (twitter.com/Ken_Deep ) would be all over developing setups and routes for Gogeta - I mean, pretty much all the DBFZ players I followed on Twitter would have a lot of good things to share, so look around a bit if you need references. *Rough Description* #1 (00:02) - Corner-to-corner carry. I think the beginning part where you have to link 5LL after landing from that ki blast is applicable only to characters with a low enough hurtbox during juggle (like those who allows for the j.H-5L links). Maybe it would work on more characters with some perfect timing. For the re-jump part, if you did not delay SD to the maximum, upon dash jumping you could easily cross-under the opponent, which might be useful if you start with a 5H with Bardock’s back against the corner. #2 (00:16) - Corner j.H-5L links. For the combo starter, there is some delay during 2M>5M>5S such that 5H connects at the later part of its active frames, hence you can link 5L afterwards (it’s similar to A21’s corner combo starter except you need to use 2M first, and you need to manually time the delays before 5H). The remaining sequence is pretty standard in terms of j.H-5L link combos. Note that unlike many character who can connect SuperDash after a raw 2M, Bardock’s raw 2M does not create enough juggle height for SuperDash unless 2M connects during a juggle. #3 (00:29) - Universal corner IAD loop. For smaller characters, slightly delay 5L after every ki blast to allow the opponent to fall to the range of 5LL. If you start the combo like I did, let the dummy drop to a lower height before starting the loop to minimize juggle height and make it easier. #4 (00:53) - Corner team 100% combo, started with 2M>236L and 0 meter, Lv.1 Sparking. After Sparking, input 236[S] immediately and release S once the dummy touches the ground, and you should be able to get a fully charged 236S (you don’t need to hold it all the way to get it fully charged; once the screen starts shaking it’s ready). Bardock’s 214M/j.214M leaves the opponent in a short ground-bounce state, allowing easy DR continuation with most assists. #5 (01:20) - SJAD cross-over combo. The starter is specific to Cooler; you can use j.L>j.H>j.S for other relatively taller characters. The cross-over part works on most medium to large size characters, but depending on the target, the spacing you need (between Bardock and the target) during 5LL may change a bit, and sometimes it’d be easier to super jump backwards before air dashing forward. #6 (01:34) - Showing that you can connect j.214H after a really deep j.H. Also showing Vanish whiff and a midscreen j.H-5L link. #7 (01:49) - Midscreen j.H-5L link loop (might be specific on Cell; haven’t tried Broly). You can also start with 5LL with the dummy standing, but an issue with that is the second jump would need a different rhythm than the first because how high the dummy bounces into the air after 5LL depends on where 5LL connects. If both jumps start with the dummy in juggle state (like in this combo), the rhythm becomes more similar. But it’s not easy regardless. #8 (02:04) - Corner team 100% combo, started with 236[S] and 0 meter, Lv.1 Sparking. If the dummy (set to Guard All) reflects your ki blast and you canceled your ki blast immediately with 236[S], there’s like a 1f window for you to fully charge 236S and release it to hit the dummy before it can recover from reflecting and return to guarding. #9 (02:34) - Some side-switching stuff. #10 (02:52) - Solo 100% started with 236[S] and whiffing Sparking blast. #11 (03:18) - Solo 100% with some side-switching sequences. After the whiffed Vanish, if you want you can do 5L>5H or 2M>5M>5H to get another side-switch, but I failed to get a 100% combo off either choice. #12 (03:44) - Solo 100% started with 2M>tk.j.236M. If done properly, j.236M would only deal one hit and the damage is much more optimal than it dealing two hits. Normally without Sparking you can also do 5M>tk.j.236M as a combo starter with good damage.
Thanks for the mention 👀 I will definitely be trying to cover Gogeta as much as possible. As always sick combo video man. This is some godspeed work. -KenDeep
