EDIT: A18 supplementary combos

At first I thought 18’s combo potential got nerfed to the ground since DR loop got removed and her j.M was slowed down. Glad to see that she can still play with her ki blast and even has a few solo Sparking combos with great damage.

\\ Regarding #5, kudos to @Supreeeeme__ for figuring out a ki blast link a few months ago ( Su... ), which was thought to be Frieza-specific. Unknowing of this finding, I somehow got almost the same route but with some extra extension and discovered that it actually works on small characters in general. But it does feel much easier on Frieza, plus you actually need a slightly different rhythm for each of Kid Buu, T.Gohan, Gotenks, etc.

*Rough Description*
#1 (00:01) -
A basic combo that can be done anywhere on the stage. Beware that since Season 2 her landing recovery from j.214M has been increased, so run-up 2M isn’t as easy as before. Just be sure to delay calling A17 (j.214M) after any j.2H or 2H on smash to buy time for recovery.
#2 (00:27) -
Air ki blast links on smaller characters, set up from a re-jump combo. It’s actually kind of braindead to do this on Frieza, but for other small characters you have to make sure that SuperDash after 5H is delayed as much as possible, and you need to slightly delay the second L in each j.LLS in order to get extra height boost (kind of like Base Vegeta’s ki blast loop). Consider this a simplified version of #5.

A way to switch sides meterlessly using 2H. Regarding the combo ender, normally if you just let her fall after Lv.1, she could easily get 2H’d by the recovered opponent. If you call A17’s assist as she falls, 17’s barrier would actually eat up the wake-up 2H and she would land safely. If you used her Lv.1 from the ground, you’d still have access to air movement options.

Team 100% with Tien and Beerus, started with 4 meters and no Sparking. The route is essentially the same with Sparking, so I figure might as well just do one without Sparking, since in #8 and #11 there will be more fun Sparking combos for her. In general you’d get around 9600 damage with most other Lv.1+Lv.1+Lv.3 combinations.

Full-stage carry using ki blast link. Same idea as #2 except that you really need to delay SuperDash as much as possible after 5H or else you'd hardly get the second j.LLS. However, it would become much more lenient if you omit the second j.LL, and I can foresee that being use in matches.

Just to show a way to get DR snap without assist in the corner. The blockstring at the beginning is kind of interesting. Normally she’d have landing recovering after using j.214M, but for whatever reason, if you use or whiff a j.L in that mess of attacks, the landing recovery sometimes feels non-existing. Delaying the air dash after j.214M would allow her to land on the other side. Also note that even with the landing recovery, if you do an air dash H (blocked) after j.214M, you can still be +2 after landing.

Stealing the corner after an air snap with a forward-charging assist (Bardock, Yamcha, etc.). Showing that you can also set up the ki blast link after a Vanish, but unless you Vanished rather early, there’s probably not enough hitstun for more than a couple of it. Basically, for the ki blast link, #5 is the full version, #2 is the practical version, and this one is an alternative.

Solo corner Sparking combo, showing a ki blast loop route (sort of). 8200+ from 1 bar is pretty solid imo.
There’s also a route that loops 【5H > iad dj.L > dj.S > 5S】, but I don’t like it much because of the frequent use of j.L and 5S (both low damage).

A ki blast link specific to tall characters. It feels rather stable to me, thanks to how fast her 5M is. Because she has 2L/5L as low attacks, this is NOT unlikely to happen in matches, as long as you don’t auto-pilot into 2M>5M>j.MLL>j.2H.

Further showing how the ki blast link can be used in the corner. Compared to linking 5M after landing, it is much more difficult to continue with 5S. You need to delay the first j.S in order for her to land quicker after the second j.S. Note that after 【5H>214M】, 2S would whiff on characters who do not have a wide enough hurtbox.

Solo Sparking combo on a tall character. Against Cooler and Janemba you can start with 5M>j.M, but for others j.M would whiff (like Broly, even though he appears much taller than Janemba).

You're a god. Despite being an A18 main since the middle of season 1 I didn't think 18 really had any potential left for fancy combos after the season 2 patches came. It wasn't until recently I got curious enough to experiment and found that she can do some kind of sparking loop--I didn't think it was possible that more could be done with it but I'm glad to see that I was wrong. Granted I'm not a consistent player when it comes to combo execution nor am I a lab monster but it's nice to see new stuff to try out to break out of the tedium of doing what I've practiced endlessly already in training mode. Thanks again man! You've got my sub~

To anyone having trouble in the first combo. After doing the 214M do not move 18 until 17 lands his 2nd hit which slams them down into the ground, from that just run and 2M. I find that using that queue makes it easier to try understanding the timing for the 2M. Hope that helps.

@@diegoguillen1294 Delay 214M as much as you can. There's no visual cue, so trial and error and try to memorize the right timing.
Just want to add that you can compromise by using 5L>5M instead of 2M>5M.
Catching them with 5L would be much easier, and in the grand scheme of things the damage difference is minimal.

2:12 What is the trick to getting the 5S to connect after the j.S, airdash, j.M, j.S? I can only get it semi-consistently. I find it especially hard the second time when you do 2m, 5h, j.s, etc.
Delay 5H after 2M so that you’d get a much lower juggle height

sooo, do u happen to know why can't the ki loops work on big body characters for some reason ? hitbox should be bigger so it should be easier to hit no ?
Their bigger hurtbox is actually the reason why it doesn't work on them.
Having a smaller hurtbox means there's slightly more distance that the ki blast needs to travel before connecting, which happens to just give A18 that extra frame advantage she needs for j.L

Delay the 17 call as much as you can. You also have to microwalk or dash while 18 is off screen soon after the 17 call and delay your 2m/5m a bit. Hope that helps.
