Cyberdemon never gets a break. He even changed his name to tyrant in Doom: Eternal, yet still got killed by doom slayer. Edit: It has been 3 years. We still haven’t gotten the demon strike. The icon of sin must pay them more or I’m protesting.
In Doom 3, the first two Hell Knights you encounter *are* a boss encounter. Those two specifically Hell knights are stronger than the normal ones in the rest of the game, having 1400 health points instead of 900; the encounter is an homage to the very first boss encounter of the series, the two Barons of Hell (also called Bruiser Brothers) in DooM E1M8, Phobos Anomaly. The other Hell Knights in DooM 3, even the hell versions (just a reskin) are all the same; also, having 900hp, those HK functions more like the Barons of Hell (1000hp) than the original Hell Knight (500hp)
I grew up playing DOOM way back in the day on playstation. I now just watch these clips of the game. The creatures move so fast. The game come a loooooong way 🙂
I like how the soul cube in DOOM III comes towards the camera before dealing the final blow to the cyberdemon almost like it’s saying to the player “now watch this!!” then does its thing
I think the soul cube was one of the cooler things about DOOM 3. Maybe it’s just me really liking special and unique weapons (the Crucible in DOOM Eternal had me entertained from the moment I got it), but I hope to see it or a version of it return as a playable weapon in the next release.
Doom 3 was the reason I built my first pc. I had bought from Dell and Gateway previously but I built one just for that. I had an ATI Radeon x800, 1GB ram and a Soundblaster video card with a gigantic 1600x1200 crt monitor. Ran an Altec Lansing 5.1 surround sound and that was my first real pc gaming experience. I was floored at how amazing it was. Those were awesome times.
15:43 how to beat a doom hunter 1. Plasma rifle to break its shield. 2. Super shotgun to destroy sled. Repeat if necessary. 3.lock on rocket launcher super shotgun if needed. 4. Sit back and chill
Dont have to do any of that. All you need to do is use the super shotgun, grenades, and the rocket launcher. Only aim at its sled as breaking that destroys the sled.
Playing him on nightmare was frustrating, as it was basically "land all your bfg shots between 2 armor plates, or restart" It took me like 6 tries before I got to phase 2, then It got easy, which was a head scratcher for me, as it seemed anticlimactic. To me, I think Doom is the best first person shooter i ever played. I'll take the original Doom over the newest Call of Duty anytime. Because Doom brings back so many memories of how i got addicted to it. In Doom, i learned how to reveal its secret areas, use the add ons, and of course the cheat codes. Im a Doomer forever.
I love how the Spider Mastermind in Doom 2016 gets hurt more and more throughout the fight. By the end it can't even stand and is just trying to cover it's face.
Yes, the first two Hell Knights in DooM 3 are mini-bosses. They have health almost doubled than the standard version that you encounter later, and they also are an homage to the very first boss encounter in the whole series, the two Barons of Hell. Spider Mastermind was my favorite of Doom 2016. Doom Eternal's Marauder has the coolest entry, shame the dialogue was so short. After that I'd say the Icon of Sin is takes the prize.

"Wait a sec...what if we just sent ALL our Marauders after him at the same time?" "Shut up, Gary. You're not in charge here. Send one Marauder and one of those snake things..."
Zac Ross This. This exactly. It had great concepts but just wasn’t a DOOM game. I hope the next release after Eternal has some references to 3 (or 64), though, because Eternal had a lot of references to DOOM 2 and DOOM 2016 was more of an homage to recapture the magic of the original.
I remember when Doom came out there were two camps: those who saw it as a run n gun game, and those who saw it as a horror game. Doom 3 fits best as a reimagining for the latter.
@@uriplayz8713 I don't agree with that assessment. DOOM 1 and 2 are both legendary, great games -- but they _are_ a product of their time. ID even said in old interviews that they envisioned DOOM as a more horror-oriented game, hell it was supposed to be somewhat of an RPG with heavy story elements at one point. The cartoonish enemy designs and simple gameplay are a result of limitations of the time -- not necessarily a deliberate design choice. I'd love to see a game that combines the creepy atmosphere and demons of DOOM 3 with the gameplay of the Bethesda DOOMs. You could have moments of both terror AND absolute carnage. The best of both worlds.
@Hell Knight I wish but I highly doubt it. People fanboy way to hard over the Bethesda DOOMs for them to change up the formula. Seriously. You can't criticize _anything_ about those games or you'll be attacked by the mob. 🤣
The Doom 3 atmosphere is still something else. The sound effects and darkness/lights are so good, still to this day. Especially the original game with the flashlight instead of a weapon can be scary to play.
Even though I actually don’t hate the marauder in Eternal, it would have been cool if it was just the boss fight against that one type, and then another 1-2 boss fights against a different kind of marauder, maybe even one where you fight a defensive marauder paired with a super aggressive one. Might have been cooler than just a reoccurring tough enemy with such cool lore.
Yeah I agree. Fighting him again isn’t the issue, but it’s the lore that’s established for him that makes it weird when you fight him more and more. Like, they’re clearly not the same one because you killed the one that talked to you, so it takes a bit of that feel of a rival to the Doom Slayer throughout the game that sometimes shows up. Unless I’m missing something and he does somehow survive each encounter.
UriPlayz one interesting thing I didn’t think of is that a lot of demons can resurrect, but that opens a whole other can of worms and likely isn’t the case.
Honestly the three to four monsters that scared me the most didn't do three were the cherubs the bruisers and lost souls everybody else I did jump scare me and startled me here and there but those three were the only ones to consistently scare me
Too bad it’s not a very good game and doesn’t feel like a Doom game. I’m glad that Doom ‘16 and Eternal went back to the original arcadey shooter style
The original Dooms from my childhood will always hold a special place in my heart, but Doom 3 was my absolute favourite. No other game has made me feel the same way, I felt genuine fear in my playthroughs. The atmosphere was horrifying and intense, at times I would find myself taking breaks because it was too much. The way the story line unfolds through discovering UAC personnel PDAs was a nice touch and really made you push forward to unravel the events that lead to the demonic invasion of the UAC facility. I hope this style makes a come back one day.
@ doom 3 is a good game, just bot a good doom game. Hell, I wouldn't even classify it as a doom game! Doom is a fast-paced run and gun shooter with secrets to discover, doom 3 is survival horror. I liked the game, but it should not be called "doom" But hey, that's just my opinion.
I agree with you like the first time I played RE 7 (I think) and that girl crawled up the stairs... I actually took a few days off on that one one section.
Say what you want about Doom 3, but the atmosphere was on point. I remember playing it when I was younger, nearly shit my pants sometimes. It also lit up the spark in me that adores horror games and horror in general. PS: the music especially was something else man, still listening to the main theme from time to time, so fucking good...
Agreed, back in the day was hard to play in your own in a dark room. If it got too tense I used to crack out the chainsaw and go beserking down the corridors. The graphics still look amazing for that era
I have completed Doom eternal and the Baron of hell, Tyrant, and the Archivile are all super heavies but not bosses. The doom hunter is a boss for the level introduced, but later he is just another tough enemy. But the gladiator, Khan maykr, and the icon of sin you got right also good job on the compilation, and the ancient gods part 1 and 2.
@@jame8266 I mean not all of doom 3 obviously just the enemies and maybe the storyline of a mad scientist who made a deal with the demons in order to obtain god like powers
@@madliftedson6565 That's only if you play the terrible BFG Edition. It not only removed the flashlight as a weapon, it also doubles the amount of ammunition you get from pickups which practically removes all of the challenge, and it relights most of the darker areas to be brighter. Doom 3 BFG Edition is a joke, play the original version.
For my taste Doom 3 was the best. You feel way more endangered than in the other chapters, that's what makes it more interesting. The ambience setting is amazing, and more than everything else its dark and tense atmosphere is just perfect. But then, if you don't like horror games, I can understand if you prefer classic Doom games.
I love that mechanic in games where they introduce enemies you will fight later as mini bosses, its so you know how to deal with them later when they re apear
marauder feels more of a mini boss rather than a boss because you see him alot further through the game and hes just not as hard to kill compared to other bosses. i understand that you also see the doom hunter further throughout the game aswell but all the encounters with him feel like a boss because of the multiple stages
Seeing the 2016 bosses followed immediately by the Eternal ones just makes me realize how smooth of a follow up it was. The aesthetic is cartoonier, but not so much so that it feels like a different game and universe.
The atmosphere in Doom 3 is something else. While the newer games are beautiful, the fact you can see in nearly every corner makes them look completely washed out and less terrifying.
Doom besides 3 wasn't really all that terrifying to begin with maybe a few levels in early Doom 1 but after that it was mostly about slaying demons shooting them until they stop moving and hell even doom 3 is like that especially after a while you are mostly just moawing them down
Los diseños de los dos últimos Doom son espectaculares . Sobre todo los del Doom eternal. Igual , casi no inventaron ningún enemigo . Reciclaron un montón de enemigos .
It’s more of a horror game than a DOOM game, so you’re right in thinking that. You don’t feel as powerful in DOOM 3 as you do in the others since you’re not Doomguy.
@@deadrock1678 No you are doom marine not doomguy they have differences doom guy is tormenting hell in doom 64 while doom marine is stuck in a ship fighting demons so there different.
I appreciate that you actually used the OG Doom and not a source port for this (or at the very least you must have used something like Chocolate Doom or Final Doom)
Hell Knight Evolution Doom 3: Finally we have original models rather than a reslinned sprite, no more horns. Doom 2016: Doom 3 was pretty good, let's remake it. Doom Eternal: *EYES*
Doom 3 demons to this day are still the most fearsome looking, not gonna lie the new dooms are cool but doom 3 still tops my list, hoping one day we see somthing like it again.
I love all Doom games, thx for the video. My favorite is Plutonia Experiment and Eternal, but Eternal is really hard on the ultra violence for me. Thx for the video. Big like.
DOOM 3 had some creative ideas but it didn’t fit the DOOM formula. DOOM 2016 recaptured the magic of the originals and Eternal added more concepts to it in order to capitalize on and build off of what’s already there. I’m hoping we see some homage to DOOM 3 or DOOM 64 in the next release because of the references to DOOM 2 that were scattered across the designs in Eternal.

Doom 3, even after all these years still holds up as a great game even though it isn't a typical Run & Gun DOOM game.
To echo what most say, it’s a good game, just not a good Doom game
TO WIN THE GAME YOU MUST KILL ME, JOHN ROMERO
So be it
*RIP AND TEAR!!*
TO KILL ME, YOU MUST TO WIN THE GAME
No, your Jennifer Linares
@@埊you have the perfect PFP for that comment
Doom 3 is such a classic, had to have another run through recently! Might try Doom on android next.
Marauder is fck shit and I hate him so much but slayer is Marauder
@@uriplayz8713 marauders are sentinel soldiers that turned evil, so it makes sense that there's a lot of them.
The amount of times I press R expecting to reload is insane, I guess some habits never die
If it's in Doom Eternal it only means you had a lot of armor throughout the game, burning everything in your path xD
It's not a bad habit to burn everything in your path (in DOOM)
Remember when DOOM wasn't super violent?
Me neither.
@JuiceEnergy that is worse than sandy cheeks cock vore
commiehater 358 what the fuck did I just read
Edit: on second thought, I don’t want to know
@@forsstu hol up
No
It was always violent stupit
The Kahn Mayker fight in Eternal was so well designed. Was easily my favorite boss of the series
On top of that, it made The Icon of Sin feel boring
Let’s be honest, doom 3 was the scariest.
well nobody denies that. Doom 3 was the only Doom game that was supposed to be scary.
@@shiruba7019
Exactly
Honestly the three to four monsters that scared me the most didn't do three were the cherubs the bruisers and lost souls everybody else I did jump scare me and startled me here and there but those three were the only ones to consistently scare me
Unless you play PS1 Doom (which DOOM 3 is still the scariest but PS1 DOOM is probably second place because of the atmosphere of the game)
Same. Terrified me.
@ doom 3 is a good game, just bot a good doom game. Hell, I wouldn't even classify it as a doom game! Doom is a fast-paced run and gun shooter with secrets to discover, doom 3 is survival horror. I liked the game, but it should not be called "doom"
But hey, that's just my opinion.
Same but the next game like doom 3 shouldn't be called doom.
I agree with you like the first time I played RE 7 (I think) and that girl crawled up the stairs... I actually took a few days off on that one one section.
Cool idea for a Spin off
Say what you want about Doom 3, but the atmosphere was on point.
Doom 3 on its own is a fantastic game!
Doom 3 sucks and was way too dark. Couldn't see anything
Doom 3 has to be one of the most slept on games of all time. I honestly _still_ enjoy it more than either of the Bethesda Dooms.
Imo, Doom 3 was the experience of the events of Doom from the pov of a standard marine, not our DoomSlayer
in my opinion doom 3 cyber demon was the creepiest one
Like other demons in this game
Kacper Chamerski what do you mean? tHe oNE CYbErDeMon iN a HOroR gAmE iS deFiNitlEy nOt The CrEePiEsT.
Kacper Chamerski the mancubus is a bit terrifying than the others
Wasn't doom three a horror game?
Nightlock yes
20:16 the Icon of Sin is probably like “why am I alive” while fighting the doom slayer because he knows he will lose.
“The mortally challenges have engaged in combat” I see how it is UAC.
ADAM MOHAMAD ALI
Saludos cordiales
I want a doom game that reintroduces the demon types from doom 3 reimagined in this new style into the games.
It would be sick if they reimagined doom 3 in the way they reimagined doom 2 in eternal.
@@jame8266 I mean not all of doom 3 obviously just the enemies and maybe the storyline of a mad scientist who made a deal with the demons in order to obtain god like powers
@E115 I hope so
@LexiByDay I think it’d be cool if they remastered the game again as well though, just without the reloading I didn’t really see the point in that
Ahh... Don't you guys think the doom hunter looks exactly like that demon from doom 3💀💀💀💀 pretty sure they take inspiration from the game already.
I still remember the sound effect of Doom 3 made me feel like I was in the game. And the flashlight was extremely useful unlike the other games.
Its the only DooM game with a flashlight...
@@genesisswift384 exactly the reason why its useful
I had nightmares from doom3 as a kid lmao
Roses are red,
Most humans have thumbs,
The longer the icon of sin is on earth,
The stronger he becomes
Roses are red,
The screams are internal,
Demons are temporary,
For DOOM is Eternal
What so you mean "most?"
@@justaguy3135 there are some people who are born without thumbs lol
It’s interesting that Doom 2016 used the same designs for the Hell Knights and Plasma Rifle as Doom 3 but everything else is like the original
marauder feels more of a mini boss rather than a boss because you see him alot further through the game and hes just not as hard to kill compared to other bosses. i understand that you also see the doom hunter further throughout the game aswell but all the encounters with him feel like a boss because of the multiple stages
I watched most your vids I didn’t see this one man wtf it’s great your videos are somehow super informative too.
The Tyrant is definitely a boss.
Or Mini Boss. Hes the classic Cyberdemon.
Edit: What do you expect a 9 year old?
I'd say Mini-Boss, since he appears in a few levels.
"to defeat the tyrant, shoot it until it dies."

@@IamaPERSON mini-boss count. Bruise Bros, anyone? Furthermore, Cybers and Spidermasters are common enemies throughout maps after their first fight.
Seeing the 2016 bosses followed immediately by the Eternal ones just makes me realize how smooth of a follow up it was. The aesthetic is cartoonier, but not so much so that it feels like a different game and universe.
eternal is incredible in all aspects of game design, they just ramped up everything and it works great
I think Hugo said that it's like the apocalypse if it was made by Disney
Got to say that this is one of the clearest Doom 3 footage I seen in recent years XD
Doom slayer when see a demon: So many fucking languages and you only understand with bullets
2:06 The sounds of the explosions are sounding like if the Cyberdemon is screaming in pain. 😂😂😂
I always thought the Doom 3 version of the Cyberdemon was so cool
4:55 He looks like a Chinese knock-off of the Doom Hunter
Pretty sure the design for the doom hunters came from this.
I'm pretty sure it is the opposite of what you just said Rockie.
Pretty sure they take the inspiration from him bud
Its more like samsung vs apple when it comes to the two of them
Why do I understand this
12:56 "it's two on one, Slayer! It's over!" "No... Now it's fun!"
Holy shit… Doom Eternal is on another level. The pace, the intensity. I’m convinced it’s the best shooter ever made.
The atmosphere in Doom 3 is something else. While the newer games are beautiful, the fact you can see in nearly every corner makes them look completely washed out and less terrifying.
Doom besides 3 wasn't really all that terrifying to begin with maybe a few levels in early Doom 1 but after that it was mostly about slaying demons shooting them until they stop moving and hell even doom 3 is like that especially after a while you are mostly just moawing them down
Doom 3 has ammo like Resident Evil 5 + 6!!!!!!
Normal Gamers: This is a boss fight
Doomguy: A weakling
*The Icon of Sin, now free of his inprisonment, seeked vengeance on the Doomslayer that once had robbed him of victory*
I love the Lovecraftian design of the Doom 3 demons. SO cool.
Yes! Cartoony demons are cool and all but I want to be shitting my pants when I see a demon in a Doom game, not laughing.
@Miimalius How doesn't it? The demons in the Bethesda games took a cartoony approach.
We need a review on all these boos
Doom 3 still the best and darkest Doom ever imo. Those flying heads gave me nightmares.
Like how the Tyrant is literally the cyber-demon from the old Doom... I like that
2:28 if you're wondering the weapon here is the unmaykor or the unmaker.
Surprised that lot of people don't recognize the weapon in Eternal.
1:45 damn this is the scariest boss I ever seen in Doom
Los diseños de los dos últimos Doom son espectaculares . Sobre todo los del Doom eternal. Igual , casi no inventaron ningún enemigo . Reciclaron un montón de enemigos .
Finally a nice classic Doom gameplay, without visible source mods influence
It’s cool seeing how the design of this game changed over time.
Gbh, Icon of sin was probably the hardest boss in any doom game.
for me, doom 3 is the scariest. idk it has dark atmosphere
It’s more of a horror game than a DOOM game, so you’re right in thinking that. You don’t feel as powerful in DOOM 3 as you do in the others since you’re not Doomguy.
@@uriplayz8713 You are doomguy in Doom 3 but a realistic version, he's just a soldier.

Doom 3 absolutely slays doom 2016 and eternal. When i play it i constantly have the feeling that i'm battling Satan himself. An underrated masterpiece

I think “another demonic obstacle” is way better than “boss”
Doom, the only game where a demon’s shield can also be a demon.
Miitopia came close to that tho

I appreciate that you actually used the OG Doom and not a source port for this (or at the very least you must have used something like Chocolate Doom or Final Doom)
Fun fact. Khan makyer’s voice actor also voiced chum chum from well... fanboy and chum chum

Doom 3's bosses were plentiful. I would be happy if they jammed all demons into one game.
Doom 3 Hell knights were so cool that id made them part of the 2016 reboot
Altherot and doom eternal
Hell Knight Evolution
Doom 3: Finally we have original models rather than a reslinned sprite, no more horns.
Big like.
Demons: we need a boss to defeat the doom slayer
Doom slayer: *reloads shotgun* IM YOUR BOSS... BUT ONE YOU CAN'T KILL
honestly Doom 3 had good ideas, I think the perfect Doom game would be a cross between Doom 3 and Doom '16
