    UPDATE!!!! 🎉
    I have experimented more with golden gloss color pouring medium. I do not recommend it for this recipe. Please do stick with GAC 800. There’s also another chalk paint called Dixie Bell. That is absolutely incredible for this technique!

    Mystery solved! Thank you Sara and Michelle for letting us all know this information. I really thought it was ME! I had noticed they changed the name of the paint on the black and while Artist Loft however, found the other colors still had the Flo Acrylic label. I should have just asked instead of torturing myself! This is a HUGE help! Thank you both for verifying this for all the suffering we've been through! Your paintings are and have been such an inspiration for me and I'm so grateful you and Michelle have shared your findings of the hundred s of experiments with us! Although I've only begun to become introduced to acrylic fluid art, I was tending to shy away after things weren't turning out so well after they changed the Artist Loft. I could tell the difference immediately and had thought I actually bought the wrong paint and then realized I hadn't! It was very confusing as I had just practically mastered the pearl effect and was so very disappointed I almost threw in the towel. I'm so glad I didn't and will try this instead! Thanks so very much to both yourself and Michelle! YEAH!!!

    Sara, Thank you so much for all the hard work you've put into testing products to find the best results and sharing the details with us. I am new to Fluid Art, and I'm so thrilled that I've found you early on in my new journey of color. I've only started painting about 10 months ago after having Vivid dreams of being an artist. My first month in, I sold almost 20 pieces, and have had numerous commission work. Now that I've started fluid art ( 6 pieces done this week) and all have turned out amazing. I am now ready to start using Australian Floetrol and Gac 800. I'm going to try some of your recipes.
    You are truly an inspiration and a gift to all of us. Thank you again for everything that you do. I greatly appreciate you.

    Thank you so much for this! I made my first attempts at pearl paintings in April of this year using a 2020 bottle of the Artist’s Loft paint. I ended up so frustrated at my results that I stopped painting all summer because I felt like I was just wasting canvases. I have done a few ring pours and Dutch pours since my kids went back to school and am starting to regain my confidence, so I think with this video in mind I will attempt a pearl painting again!

    Hi Sarah, First of all, HUGE fan of yours. Everytime I look at a pour I'm like, OH I LOVE THAT... it's you. :) I don't know if you were going to look at a year old post. But wanted to let you know that I tried out pearl pour and added Apple Barrel to the Artist Loft Soft Body Paint along with Floetrol, water, and Behr. When I did that, I think that the 2022 Soft Body is different than the 2020 and 2021 that you referenced. When I started to tilt my canvas, the pearls came up so fast that by the time I was halfway done, they started to overlap and it became sort of marbled effect. It's kinda pretty, but not what I was going for. LOL. I was going to try and use it without the Apple Barrel and see what it looked like. Then I found that Sarah Mack has a new recipe without the Apple Barrel, so will try that tomorrow. Thank you again for what you do and your inspiration both in your art as well you!

    • @SaraTaylor

      I completely understand, her recipe is very simple, Howe to get the effect that I love I do prefer adding GAC, Liquitex pm and a bit of apple barrel. Of the effect is to much you can scale back a bit on the satin enamel. It’s interesting how the same recipes work differently in different climates and for different artists. I hope you keep experimenting until you find what works for you.🙏❤️🙏❤️

    💕…Elyse’s technique with wall paint and milk paint was my introduction to this technique a few years ago. Someone else who I think was a bit of a pioneer in this art form was Paul Startart with his paint bomb technique that blossomed into the “Dutch pour”. Nice that you are recognizing some of the pioneers💕💕👍

    • @joeadams9040
      @joeadams9040 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Keep in mind that Rinske uses Amsterdam paints and water almost exclusively with no other mediums. Amsterdam seems to have an ingredient (I'm guessing a petroleum product) in it's paints that creates cells all on its own. Floetrol which was developed to eliminate brush marks when painting wood trim has a similar ingredient and produces cells when added to acrylics. In my experience Amsterdam's cells are more lacy and when used with an activator like minwax wood conditioner, floetrol and perhaps polyurethane are the basis for swiping to achieve a sheelee type effect. Other acrylic paints don't seem to work quite as well. Of course this has little to do with the cloud effects Sara is discussing ( and a master at I think)

    • @justkerry173
      @justkerry173 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Thank you so much Sarah. I stopped doing the pearl because the results were not the same. Will try adding the other paint with my artist loft white.

    You won’t believe it! When I went to Home Depot and asked for help to bring down the can of 7300, the guy started questioning if I knew what I was doing. He kept insisting that I have to tint it with paint . This in spite of me telling him that I am not using it to paint my walls!! 😂
