Back in early 80s, I had pleasure of seen him trios with his father playing piano, Jason on double base in Blues Alley in Washington DC. Back then Blues Alley was already famous but still one of the DCs local club, we were able to listen to the many fantastic musicians, over just cup of coffee,onion soup and t-shirts in late night sessions. I listen to him many times, couple of times quartets w/Branford,they were playing only few feet in front of me, almost could hear his breathe, see his finger moves, best of all their eyes talking to each other. What a great times. Ps. At one Halloween night, Stan Getz had fox tail on his butt.
