  • In this video we are going to see which glue works for photo transfer. Basically I am going to make quick transfers with 8 different type of glue.
    And really the transfers are going to be really quick; so we can see which glue works for image transfer. We can do this transfer with a laser printouts but I’m going to use inkjet photos because it is faster to do.
    Also I’m going to use different photos to test each of the glues and I tried choosing photos that are similar in contrast.

    Curious to know how long you keep the photo attached until you rub it off. Some crafters leave it for 24 hrs then moisten with a damp cloth and rub off with fingers. That’s with Mod Podge. It comes our great. I’ve used Craftsmart air dry clay and simply hated it so I won’t by any of their products.

      @@NitsaCreativeStudio having trouble with water causing the PVA glue to go slimy which eventually takes the image off the substrate. My guess is I am doing it wrong with the water? I'm sure the glue has cured enough, so nothing should be getting slimy.

    • @NitsaCreativeStudio
      @NitsaCreativeStudio  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johntrevy1 I've never had this issue, so either something is wrong with the PVA glue (you can replace it with Elmer's glue to test it) or you're applying too much water and rubbing too hard? BTW are you transferring an inkjet or a laser photo?

    • @johntrevy1
      @johntrevy1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NitsaCreativeStudio I am admittedly using cheaper PVA glue. Maybe I am using too much water then, but I really thought I was using a little amount. Back to the drawing board for me then. Will let you know how I get on. I'm using laser, can't afford to run an inkjet.

    • @johntrevy1
      @johntrevy1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NitsaCreativeStudio The more I try with the cooking oil the more I think that there could be something to it. Why not try it yourself. Get a piece of wood, attach your design like you usually do, wait to dry completely, apply cooking oil to sponge and rub sponge over design, try to find a corner on your design and gently get one of your nails to separate the top layer of paper from the other and gently rub your thumb over and over until the paper comes up. Use a mini pallet knife to get the rest of the layer of paper up. Make a video and see how you get on.
