I saw this method years ago and forgot how to do this. Your video helped a lot. Thanks for typing up the hints and what nots, it helps those who can't hear very well.
Just came back to this video after a days work in my shed making rustic signs and then turning logs into drawers. Will print off some pics later on and then apply them to random pieces of driftwood. Thanks again from the sunny North East Coast, England.
I have tried this with my ink jet printer, and it works. It looks better in B&W, unless you use a laser printer. Also, I have gone to kinkos and just had them print a bunch of pictures on 2 or 3 sheets of paper.
This is a great vid and I TYFS. From all the comments I get this: A lot of people happy to know this COULD be done . . . BUT only 2 people that have actually tried it and it did not work for them. It didn't work for me either. I wish someone could share his/her success with it!!!!!!!!
Nikinik Don't even waste your time with this shit. Get Medium Gel, apply to the surface you wish to transfer to, also apply to the image. Place image onto surface, make sure it's a nice even placement, maybe use something to kinda squeeze the excess medium gel out, like a card perhaps, let it dry, or use a hair dryer, then you pretty much use this technique shown in the vid with the water.
of all the music in the world they could have picked , they chose the worst piece ever written in the history of the universe. maybe ,just maybe ,that is why?
Hi, this is a great vid. I tried it last night but I might a little too heavy with the rubbing. Is it supposed to leave a layer on the surface? its almost like when I rub off the paper, a layer is left behind on the surface which sometimes rubs away. It may just be my technique. I will keep trying though as you make it look so easy.
Hi a fantastic process but the music is very distracting my advice is edit and re upload this with a better music a full track would be good you will get a lot more views and watch time this is just my advice please don't be offended by my comments I like to help where I can all my best clive5art
I tried with an inkjet printer on a piece of glass. Didn't work to what I wanted. I could rub some of the paper off, but it left my black ink a purple color and I couldn't get the entire white area off. It would take the whole image off. I guess if you use a white background it won't matter, but that's not what I wanted.
I tried this method with pva on canvas and wood, both times the image rubbed off,i thought mmmm, mbe to heavy with paper rubbing so i used a brush and same result, image rubbed off. I think its down to rubbing technique or using the medium gel. Thats my experience of it anyhow,im not giving up,i will try again...
Ok so I have my piece of wood, got my laser prints, used PVA glue (also tried polycrylic)...left to dry over night. Rubbed off very slowly and managed to remove first layer. Image does not transfer, if I rub anymore the paper comes off along with the image. This just aint working for me. What can I be doing wrong? Have I missed something? - Thanks.
hi can i do something like this on my phone case SHOCK PROOF CASE COVER FOR Sony Xperia Z1 / Z Ultra / Z / Z2 SCREEN PROTECTOR. i wanted to make family picture case
With PVA glue being a water base wouldn't that start to break down when a wet glass or can was placed on it? Condensation is the whole point of a coaster. If I were going to use a water based anything for a sealer I'd go with polyurethane and then you just leave the water drops to run on onto your furniture so...
You would then apply a varnish that will seal and be heat resistant. I do that with Napkins when I make coasters using mod podge and they are fine. Use a spray varnish to avoid brush strokes.
Some PVA's are different color than others, basically all white wood / paper glues are PVA glues. They are usually non toxic also and always water soluble

Finally a video and simple instructions using materials i have!
CSINCISFRIENDS Did it worked for you??
I had no idea you could use PVA for this!! Definitely giving this a go!
This is so cool! I wanted to make this a few weeks back, but mod podge is just to dang expensive! This is a great substitute!
The music on this video fucked my brain !
DWL thats funny
I've tried this and it works if you use waterproof pva glue. most pva is washable and everything will rub/wash off if you use washable

Cool tutorial. Just wondering, if your drink drips down the mug, might it cause the glue sealing the coaster to run?
after listening to that 10 second loop for 6 mins i now want to eat the fucking glue or pour it in my ears
its not that bad. it goes well with the activity
Excellent, thank you. Elmer's is PVA too.
This is so neat; cant wait to see if it works
This is a great vid and I TYFS.

worked for me : using waterproof pva not washable (as most is)
It's an amazing technique. Can it be done the same way on ceramic tiles and pieces of wood??????? Please let me know I shall be grateful!
Oh and it would be good if people helped rather than be abusive
Very good, love your style
Great design choices.
Really well done!!

Thanks for the video, but I'd have to agree, that music distracts from what you are trying to show.
after finished the rubbing process, what will left on the wood surface? Just the ink or a very thin layer of the paper?
All this complaining about the music... there’s an amazing technology you can use it’s called the volume button...
Eva Rene
It is especially shit though...
Yep and I had to use it.
Could also have something pleasant to listen to, and quiet enough you would not have to use the volume control.
of all the music in the world they could have picked , they chose the worst piece ever written in the history of the universe.
maybe ,just maybe ,that is why?
liked everything about this video.👍

You are good and right to the point. Thanks, 1926lady
GREAT, THANK YOU FOR POSTING.

Great video, i was just wondering will this work with glass?
what type of paper do they use to transfer photographs onto objects
good work,. good used of finger too 🤣
Does it work with inkjet printing or it must be a laserprint or photocopy?
I've used inkjet and laser - both work
saya suka dengan ide kreatifnya, saya ijin untuk meniru
Super....work
Does this work with any printed image on any type or paper?
Ok so I have my piece of wood, got my laser prints, used PVA glue (also tried polycrylic)...left to dry over night. Rubbed off very slowly and managed to remove first layer. Can this method be used on fabric?
All you need to do if you don't like the music is turn down the volume.
it works if you use loads of glue.
How and from where I can buy this Glue? Awaiting. Thanks. Andalib Hussain Shohag

The music was hella annoying but this was amazing!
Has anybody tried this technique and did it work?

Can it be the glossy photo paper
and I thought it only works with a special Foto Potch
what type of printer used? inkjet or laser?

Does this make coasters water proof
Will this technique work on clay
Does it works with home made pva?
Fab!
Hi so I tried this but it didn’t go well any tips
Does it work on plastic?
Yes, please (PLEASE) reconsider the "music"
can we use this on canvas too??
can i use elmers glue?
What is coaster?
ink jet or laser printer??
will it works on woods or even metal..?
On wood yes it is very possible because the water absorbs the ink but on metal I'm not sure it might be too slippery
will this work on fabric?
can i do it on wood?
what type of paper u use for print
all these comments about the music is hilarious. Sounds like an evil clown
theme park
Boi if you hate the music, put it in silent.

Laser printer but simple paper not photographic.
mod Podge n pva glue is a same
Noooo way!!! Are you sure?
The so called music gave me a headache - fast. Even turned down it just sucks.
I want to do this with a cd case and cd disc. Any objections?
Good video but annoying background music!
Bad music but good video
+kate rawnsley That is not music; it is torture! Why do they add it, it makes you want to switch off? As you say, though, the video is good.
Where the logic of this? Still curious 🤔
I love the video..
but I had to mute the video to watch this...
Agree That fukin disturbing music ughhh
that must be one sticky a$$ coaster lmmfao!!
dafuq is PVA glue?
white craft glue like Elmer's or wood glue
NO... Elmer's White Glue and Wood Glue
are totally two different glues..
This project is good for white glue
Some PVA's are different color than others, basically all white wood / paper glues are PVA glues. They are usually non toxic also and always water soluble
This music is fucking horrible!!!!
Great to see it. I did it too. The plans from Woodglut helped me a lot :)
