I used to do calligraphy and then make stickers with it. You can make labels for jars, all kinds of things in your own handwriting. Another use for it is to make the sticker, then put it on a surface and use it for tracing. so, for instance, if you wanted to etch glass you could do this and use it for a template.

I use packing tape when I punch out my very intricate butterflies. Where the holes and slits are in the wings I put the butterflies on packing tape and lightly dust them with different colors of very fine glitter. Then with my cutter bee sissors I carefully cut out the butterflies and then I use them to make my own stationary. I have never seen this done elsewhere. I just thought of it about 5 years ago. I am sure someone has done this already. I cannot afford a cameo or a cricket so I am thrilled to learn how to make my own transfers. That is why you trim it to the size of the surface you will apply it to, because you don't want or need excess hanging off. It is literally a clear sticker made of tape
TY for sharing this technique. I have a suggestion, though which you may have thought of already ... instead of making just one "image" at a time, make several on the same slip or piece of paper. Then, when you lay down the strips of tape, you won't be wasting much if any tape and paper. Also, can you make the "stickers" days in advance to maybe use at a later time or give them as gifts to people who like stickers ? And, I know how that the whole image would be affected, but, can you place multiple layers of tape on larger images ? Thank you for your advice.
I've done that. I put multiple images on the page lined up. And I cut off just enough tape to cover what will he the actual sticker image. I also had a large image where I put two strips and match them up on the item once finished. Also if you soak the paper and then burnish the ink areas, then the paper in the white ates doesn't stick, and you only have to scrape from behind the black ink areas.
True, you cannot buy a printer at the dollar store but the point is you cannot buy the decal material for only $4 anywhere nor can you get it at the dollar store nor do you need to go through this many steps to do this. If you choose to do it this way you must be aware that the tape will get destroyed over time by the candle heat and still overtime without any candle by just existence it will eventually bubble and peel and will soon start collecting dust around the sticky edges of the tape.
Jessica Cockerell - I have tried it, it doesn’t work at all really since the ink literally won’t stick. I’ve also tried a laser so that’s your best bet (try a college, work, or school printer since they might have a laser)
If you don't have a heavy enough bit of paper, the tape will pull the piece up against itself, usually not where you want it to be or with a fold. I made labels I wanted just to tape onto things and had that problem. Though you might have success if you held the small graphic onto a surface with tape placed beyond the edge of the trim portion before you covered it with the packing tape.

Luvvv this...!! Wowww a 3rd way to make a sticker
Welp..guess this will work perfectly for making decals for model kits
Matté lacquer and its hidden while permanently wedged on the thing without a risk of it falling.
I was wondering how to make it stick better. I just can't see it holding up the way they show it does, especially on the oil bottle.
thanks. Do you keep the tape or peel it off?
Keep the tape. You just make a clear sticker.
Wow, that was amazingly dope! I love the creative ideas at the end; for the make-up brushes was so cute with the eye lashes and mouth.🤗❤️💯✨
Wow you saw the eyelashes and mouth. I had to watch the end agin to Catch that.
Could I use something pre printed, like a greeting from a card?
Ok time to label my notebooks 'BTS' then.

Good trick..great IDEA...👊
That is awesome
What kind of paper do you use?
Or you can print onto a transparency and not have to screw around with water and packing tape.
Yes , but that way you won’t be able to run a dollar store
NoJusticeNoPeace
You would still need to find a way to stick the transparency onto the object i.e. tape or glue.
+Chemeleon15 They sell transparent sticker paper. I just checked staples and it costs $25 for 25 sheets of standard 8.5x11. A dollar a sheet isn't exactly a princely sum.
@@NoJusticeNoPeace yah, I want to spend $25 to make one sticker... not
One sticker? You can make _hundreds_ for $25. You can afford to pay 5 cents for a sticker, yes?
Thanks for sharing.. what if you wanted to transfer it on to body art without the packing tape
This says to me that I can draw with a sharpie and make a temporary tattoo for my kid, maybe. Just do it without the tape, and wet it with a cloth against the skin instead of submerging it.
What paper is she using
AH-MAZING!!! can't wait to try this. TY
Now we just need packing tape that is 12” wide. That was so simple. Unbelievable!
Book binding tape comes in a 4" wide roll.
Clear contact paper is bigger than tape.
I just bought a case of 3 inch packing tape from Amazon. I wish find 4 inch and not have to buy industrial quantity. I wish I'd seen you suggestion of book binding tape sooner.
@@debbielove5993 con-tact didn’t work for me. The image came off with the wet paper. Not sticky enough I guess. I used laser printer & burnished the heck out of it first.

Backing tape is the normal scotch tape?
Soak with? Water?
Wasted a lot of tape while trimming.
Thank you, im looking for a way to make a cursive handwriting sheet for my kids. I was thinking of a stencil idea so his pen follows the groove.. lol.. ur project might have helped me, idk but i plan to do this for my kitchen clear containers.. i enjoyed this rabbit hole experience. 🤔

Mind is blown 😱🤯

great tip tho, cant wait to try it
After soaking in water, the stickyness of the tape goes off right. How do u get it back? Do reply soon. It's an amazing trick I can use for my labels of candle making.
