I'm a trans kid in Texas. Yeah it sucks, my parents love me but everytime I hear about it on the news I grimace. My mom and Dad even said if I wanted to move out, they'd work it out. @@Sadcat-xd7qs "Transmasc" and "Transfem" refer to the gender they identify as. Transmasc means female to male, transfem means male to female. Most Transmasc people would still have periods because they have a uterus (unless they get a surgery for that).

But one real intrestinf thing is that transwomen (mtf) can in some capacity experience periods. Its actually real intresting, some trans women have reported period like symptoms on a monthly cycle during the the use of estrogen in hrt. Its obviously not a period in the typical sense afab people typically experience (like the shedding the uterine lining obviously is not happening here) however they do experience the hormonal side effects of what would be a period or just pms in general, like mood swings, cramps, headaches, acne, etc etc. It does make some sort of sense since a lot fo scientific studies have found that having a functional uterus is not necessarily a need for a period to occur, like a lot of cis women post-hysterectomy still report the hormonal symptoms of a period, like what was mentioned before, but obviously with no actual bleeding since thier uterus was removed. Unfortunately, there's not a whole lot of scientific study surrounding the specific topic of trans women experiencing periods, but i thought I'd share since i find the topic super interesting and not often talked about

Could you provide some more details? Off the top of my head, the countries that have the most legal recognition of trans people are located in East Asia (Japan, China) and even parts of the Middle East, like Iran. I'm not quite sure if those countries have greater protections for women's rights than the rest of the democratic world, considering that I think Japan ranks relatively low in the world, and Iran for obvious reasons. Always willing to learn though so if you have any examples that would be cool!

@YourLocalPatriot weaknesses??? that’s both short-sighted and rude. sure, sometimes having a specific identity will lead to being disadvantaged in a world that doesn’t accommodate you and actively discriminates against you for said identity, but this doesn’t mean they are weaknesses. that’s a concerning way of thinking about marginalized identities. for many marginalized people, their identity can be a source of pride because, regardless of how much society has been shaped to exclude and hurt them, they remain vigilant in fighting for their rights. this is why people label themselves, at least from my understanding.

My partner is genderfluid and doesnt care what pronouns people use for him, so Ive taken to mixing up the pronouns I use when talking about her in order to see how many people I can piss off. It mostly works against transphobes, but it also has caused a few people to get overdefensive about my boyfriend's gender identity and not back down after I gave this information, which has been helping me cut more toxicity out of my life than I was expecting. Hopes this advice helps other people!
Ok, so I'm going to sound like an idiot by saying this, but until I watched this video I honestly thought that melody was a cis white woman. Most Transmasc people would still have periods because they have a uterus (unless they get a surgery for that).

But one real intrestinf thing is that transwomen (mtf) can in some capacity experience periods. Its actually real intresting, some trans women have reported period like symptoms on a monthly cycle during the the use of estrogen in hrt. Its obviously not a period in the typical sense afab people typically experience (like the shedding the uterine lining obviously is not happening here) however they do experience the hormonal side effects of what would be a period or just pms in general, like mood swings, cramps, headaches, acne, etc etc. It does make some sort of sense since a lot fo scientific studies have found that having a functional uterus is not necessarily a need for a period to occur, like a lot of cis women post-hysterectomy still report the hormonal symptoms of a period, like what was mentioned before, but obviously with no actual bleeding since thier uterus was removed. Unfortunately, there's not a whole lot of scientific study surrounding the specific topic of trans women experiencing periods, but i thought I'd share since i find the topic super interesting and not often talked about

Off the top of my head, the countries that have the most legal recognition of trans people are located in East Asia (Japan, China) and even parts of the Middle East, like Iran. I'm not quite sure if those countries have greater protections for women's rights than the rest of the democratic world, considering that I think Japan ranks relatively low in the world, and Iran for obvious reasons. Always willing to learn though so if you have any examples that would be cool!

My partner is genderfluid and doesnt care what pronouns people use for him, so Ive taken to mixing up the pronouns I use when talking about her in order to see how many people I can piss off. It mostly works against transphobes, but it also has caused a few people to get overdefensive about my boyfriend's gender identity and not back down after I gave this information, which has been helping me cut more toxicity out of my life than I was expecting. Hopes this advice helps other people!
