*This is a form of child abuse! You can't buy alcohol or cigarettes until you are 21 but you can cut off your breasts at 16? The human brain is not fully developed until about age 25. I've seen interviews with women in their 20s who did this who seriously regret their decision, esp. women who want to have and nurse babies.*
The video clearly stated that medical transition for minors is very rare, and that social transition is much more common. Gender-affirming care for children is very often just social transitioning when a person changes their gender pronouns and dresses differently than their birth sex. It is misleading to state that social transitioning harms children in the same way that alcohol and cigarettes do. Calling it child abuse is escalating this issue into dangerous hyperbole. We also have to understand that gender dysphoria (the feeling of being born as the wrong sex) for a child can severely harm a child's mental health. In fact, there have been cases where a child has attempted suicide because they feel that they have been born in the wrong body. Only when a child socially transitions (or in rare cases medically transitions) does a child's mental health improve. Of course, what is right for one child may not be right for another as health and wellness can somewhat vary from person to person. While you are generally correct that the human brain fully develops at 25 (although I hear it is more accurate to say it develops at age 26), even this can somewhat vary. For some people, their brain doesn't finish developing until 30. Also, it is important to understand that the human brain fully develops only its major functions at age 26. The human brain changes over the course of a person's lifetime.
Really, because have seen a couple, with a trans husband in which they decided as a couple to have children. Because his wife was unable to have children, she was cisgendered, he stopped taking the hormones long enough to get pregnant and carry 2 babies to term. Then he went back to HRT. All these people want is to be left alone to pursue their careers and raise their families. They want to be able to go to church, join the PTA, and do what other families do.
How does one objectively measure emotional maturity for any person (let alone a 12-year-old child)? Also, it is important to remember that medical transitioning for children is rare and that social transitioning is much more common. For a child who has gender dysphoria (the feeling of being born as the wrong sex) it can severely harm a child's mental health to the point that they try to commit suicide. If social transitioning (and in rare cases medical transitioning) can help substantially improve a child's mental health, wouldn't it be wrong for parents to get in the way of that?
When it comes to gender-affirming care, medical transitioning is actually very rare among children. Social transitioning is by far the most common form of gender-affirming care among children. Social transitioning occurs when a child changes their gender pronouns and/or dresses differently than the sex they were assigned at birth. Social transitioning can in no way, shape or form be considered to be organ mutilation. Social transitioning (or in rare cases medical transitioning) can actually be lifesaving for children who suffer from gender dysphoria. I do not believe you would oppose gender-affirming care if said care prevented children from committing suicide, nor would you advocate for doctors providing life-saving gender-affirming care to be sent to jail. Also, claiming that puberty is not a disease is a strawman argument. No credible party is alleging that puberty is a disease, and anyone can cherry-pick something written on social media or anywhere on the internet to claim that certain groups of people are extreme.

A parent who wants her child to receive objective analysis should never take her child to a female pediatrician who denies she is a woman. A woman who describes herself as nonbinary has already lost any credibility.
The problem here is a lack of understanding of the transgender community. A woman who identifies as nonbinary can have the same medical credentials as someone who identifies as a woman. Are you saying that we should ban transgender people from being doctors? If so, isn't that discriminatory? For some people, I understand that it is absurd that there are more than two sexes/genders. People are either male or female and that's it. However, I feel that having this mindset prevents us from engaging in critical thinking about why people think differently than us. Instead of just assuming that our point of view is correct, ask people who disagree with us why they disagree and listen to them. Even if you disagree with them after the conversation, you can still learn something from them and see them as people and human beings rather than talking points.

I thought when you wrote "should never take her child to a female pediatrician who denies she is a woman" that you were talking about the female pediatrician denying that she herself was the woman, I didn't think you were referring to the child. Also, I am confused by the term neo-religion as I don't know what that means. After researching it I believe you are referring to new religious movement (NRM). Please feel free to clarify if you feel you need to. As for me personally, I don't know if I am comfortable with labeling LGBTQ+ as just a religious movement as I feel that science is involved in this too that we have yet to fully understand. For example, why has been such a dramatic uptick in gender dysphoria in the past decade? While some believe that this is just a social contagion, I feel that is too simplistic of an answer. One answer could be that we as a society lacked awareness of what gender dysphoria was and didn't even have a word to describe what it was. While not a perfect comparison, it is similar to autism in the context that people were largely unaware that it even existed, and that the autistic population has dramatically increased since it was first discovered (although some believe that autism has been over diagnosed). For children who suffer from gender dysphoria, the negative effects that can have on their mental health can be very severe and even to the point where they attempt suicide. So, in order to improve the mental health of children who suffer from gender dysphoria, it can sometimes be necessary to have these children undergo gender transition. In fact, there are case studies that show that some children with gender dysphoria have a significant improvement in mental health after their gender transition. It is also important to note that it is mostly social transitioning that children receive as gender affirming care (although medical transition can also improve mental health among children, even if medical transitioning is very rare). Lastly, I caution on calling gender ideology a misogynistic ideology. While I understand you have strong personal feelings about gender ideology, I feel like if we are going to listen to each other there needs to be an avoidance of inflammatory rhetoric that will inflame the passions. There is so much more to say but not enough time. I enjoy the discussion though and I hope we can continue the discussion at another time.
