My wife collected snow globes. I gave her one every year for Christmas, and always made sure I gave her only the prettiest and most unique globes. Back in the early 2000s I gave her one that became her favorite.
The base was flowers and greeneries, while inside the globe were two naked cherubs sitting side by side on a swing. The snow was pure white.
But what made it her favorite was that it played "You Are The Sunshine Of My Life". Which she was.
Love and miss you, little bunny.
This album signalled the beginning of the Black American Renaissance of the 70's, as far as I'm concerned - Wonder created a whole new style, the glories of Mother Africa
This song makes my All Time Top Five. Perfect start to a sunny Sunday morning. Thanks. JP!
Pure gold here love it love you
A nice earworm to start the day!
Probably several days for me… but that’s good because I’ve had 1983 (A Merman I Shall Turn To Be) in my head for days, nights… I need to change the record.
This was the wedding song of many couples in the early 70s, including my mom & her second husband. This album was a staple of my childhood - and my mom didn’t collect a ton of records so that speaks volumes. ❤❤❤ in the late 90s you hear a wonderful resurgence of this style in vocalists/bands like Maxwell, Jamiroquai, The Brand New Heavies..
So many great songs from Stevie Wonder in a time when so many solo artists/bands were releasing some amazing music. Innervisions and Fulfillinness First Finale were two very strong albums which appealed to many rock fans too.
I agree, Keith, but this rock fan thinks Songs In The Key of Life may be his absolute best.
He always brought the sunshine. So do you.
A perfect song.
I’ve always dug that Stevie gave the first lines to his side singers, very classy, of course he immediately blows them away… great song, always glad to hear it.
Suggestion: King’s X, Over My Head
Thank you.
"Let a little sunshine into your life!" was a similar song of one certain Arthur Brown, which was sung with a wee bit more passion. Cheers!
Yes, know it, yes grey skies again today, yes this brings in some sunshine (and not too much, please, we only tolerate perfect weather in these parts). I think it's a cover, though? Or I've also heard covers of it.
Once upon a time me and a bunch of mates stuck in a place we didn't want to be got this sunshine dose via Stevie Wonder's Original Musiquarium. Worth a listen if you can find it.
Magnífico tema.
Long time subscriber here. Have sent you requests several times, none played yet, have gotten several great song and groups from you. I like to dig into music that is forgotten to the passage of time. Got a goody for you today. Artist J Geils Band, the song is a good 9 minutes long but will keep your head bobbing. Song Monkey Island.
I've never understood why the album version doesn't have the amazing horn stabs on it that the single version does.
It's a nice pleasant song but where do you draw the line between sweet and saccharine? I felt he went soft in the '70s.
Good song, but IMO, so many better ones from Stevie. Do You Haven’t Done Nothin and Master Blaster for a start.
This song has only one flaw....it is too short.
Some Stevie songs although excellent really do kinda go on a bit but not this one. Beautiful song.
It's not for nothing a Stevie Wonder album was called 'The 12 Year Old Genius'. I'm not a smooth soul fan but this is patently a classic and shame on you for not knowing the song before the needle dropped, Justin! 🙂 Also interesting how Prince copied the idea of the backing singers singing the first two lines (1999) but he too deserves the 'genius' tag. Now, am I the only one who loves this track yet loathes 'I Just Called to say I Love You'? That's one of very few turds in Stevie's luxury swimming pool.
God‘s Instrument…
Not the greatest example of that instrument. So much better out there!
Shame that Stevie never got to see the joy his music brought to people.
I really hope you're 12 years old and will have the chance to heal the lack of empathy and compassion you obviously grew up with.
@@Xiroi87 😂😂😂😂
Get a sense of humor buddy.
