Hi. This is Korea. I suffered from this problem for 20 years. I found the cause and now I'm much better. First, if you have a nerve-treated molar, check xray for root inflammation. The root of the tooth is connected to the sinus, which can cause post nasal drip. Second, xylitol gum has a very good effect on oral cleanliness and sinus. Chew gum all day long. Third, examine the upper gastrostatic series and check if the stomach acid is refluxing. And if stomach acid flows back, the esophageal sphincter is often loose. For those suffering from postnasaldrip, sticky gastrointestinal fluid without stomach acid flows back to their eyes. The cure is Stretta and fundoplication. Follow the doctor's instructions.

Had this issue increase after having turbinate reduction surgery. This guy is a bit goofy but his suggestions are all good. For me, morning and eve masal rinsing with a netti but also, afterward the nitti and a few times a day, I use a nasal spray pump, that I fill with the netti pot solution. I spray 2-3 x each nostril and blow or snort to finish clearing out the sinus. Then I use the Ipatropium, which I was prescribed this past year, and its worked much better than the other sprays like Pantanase or the one he mentions. I get far better results when I keep up using the flonase as well. I can"t emphasize how keeping a ittle spray bottle of the salt solution handy, has made it easier to clear my throat.

I have a tip: Avoid dairy. You can see if it is a trigger by stopping it for a day or two then have some sort of milk product, cheese, yogurt, etc. I finally noticed the connection and dairy definitely gives me realllly bad post nasal drip.

my post nasal drip started when i was exposed to chlorine and other harsh chemicals. i would always feel like i have to spit and when i do, i spit sticky white phlegm, sometimes its so thick but not sticky. i noticed that the symptoms got worse whenever i eat sweets. i would experience instant drip after eating sweets and milk and because of that i tried to cut it off and now i dont experience drips anymore. i guess cutting of dairy products does the trick. it worked for me. it's still hard tho as im not used to it but im coping little by little. better have no milk than spending nights getting a hard time to breathe.

Hi All. I’ve had this for the last week and I wanted to share what helped me. I had post nasal drip after a cold and it ruined my day to day life for 2-3 days after.
So doctor gave me Nasonex Steroid spray - this didn’t do much.
Then I tried antihistamine- again nothing as it wasn’t allergy.
Then I tried Sudafed Mucus which is when I noticed a change. This has Guaifenesin which thin mucus (so if it’s in the back of the throat it can slid away). I combined this with a tonic:
    - cup of warm water
    - 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
    - table spoon of honey
    - 1/2 lemon juice
    - drop of olive oil
Today I work up with mild symptoms, so I’ve retaken the above and I’ll see how I am but I don’t have that feeling in my throat nowhere near as much! I hope this helps anyone who reads. Good luck.

Buteyko Method really works. I permanently cured my life-threatening chronic asthma during a 4 month period in 1980 by following a procedure that arose spontaneously from combining tai chi/chi kung and biofeedback training. Later I came to understand that what I was doing conformed perfectly with Buteyko Breathing principles, although I discovered the work of Dr Buteyko in 2010! There are some videos of mine in which I talk about breathing technique on my TH-cam channel and especially on the "Qi Sensing" DVD I'm currently in the process of completing.

I've also heard that nasal drip can be caused by a lot of stress, which would make sense if that were the case for me bc my life has had a lot of stress since I was 7, but idk how true that is. Hello Doctor! If a person is having severe dry cough and as you're saying that in postnasal drip the mucus is present in the throat so can we say that it is post nasal drip ? And if due to dry cough the stomach starts getting paining can we say that it's inguinal hernia or it is because of reflux in food pipe.

Okay I got a breakthrough for some...if you have it ...go to doctor and see if it's bacterial ..if so ask for antibiotics...best one is amoxicillin clavalunate ..but you have to use it exactly as prescribed and full prescribed dosage ...don't stop it half way even if you get well before finishing dosage ..GO ALL THE WAY WITH THE DOSAGE....or the bacteria will come back and take it timely as prescribed and it will kill the bacteria causing the post nasal drip....now with amoxicillin you have to take yogurt with it because it doesn't know how to distinguish the good and bad bacteria so it will kill both good and bad and so it will kill the good bacteria in gut and you will get stomach issues ...so take yogurt with it so as to replenish the good bacteria in your gut ....I got a relief and slept for a full night ..I had been struggling with sleep coz of post nasal drip for 27 days ...one time went two days without sleep ..but thank God for the antibiotics and Jesus .....now if it's not bacterial and the antibiotics don't fix it ...go to an ear ,nose doctor to figure if something else is wrong

Does Alavert D help with Post Nasal drip? I was sick 3 weeks ago, got treated for it I had sinusitis got 2 shots of antibiotics to treat the infection. Got better and my stuff nose went away.. But got post nasal drip after feel mucus going back to my throat a little bit more than normal, and when I sleep now only my right side nostril gets stuffed every night no matter what side I sleep, the other nostril I breathe perfectly fine, during the day both nostrils are perfectly fine. I was thinking it was Gerd, but reading about gerd is that I need to have a heart burn or like a heating sensation of my chest if I did have gerd.. All my life I have suffered of Sinus Allergies I don't know what causes it but I get it all my life like 5 times a year mostly during the fall to winter season. I called my doctor and told him what I was feeling he prescribed me Alavert D to help it out.

If it does then you know what is your problem then you can seek the doctor for treatment. I work in the health field but hate it when no doctor listen to you when you told them ulcer or acid is the causes of post nasal drip. I hope people with post nasal drip can read this and try it to see it can help. Life is sucks if you have to live with this.

I have post-nasal drip, and my doctor told me it's due to allergies. Though I'm not sure what I'm allergic to, so I'll keep experimenting. The antihistamine nasal sprays didn't really work for me, but yeah.

I had a serious case of post nasal drip and all it is sinus infection. I tried flushing and other things until I tried eating a raw half of garlic every other night for a week and it went completely away! I am only posting this to help anyone who has this problem for free. No more smelly breath! You can wash it down with some bread to help with the stinging effect of garlic but its natures anti biotic and it works!!
