- Logitech has a beta available of their new "Logi Capture" app for Logitech Webcams which seems to replace the old Logitech Webcam Software and integrates manual profiles for webcams, screen capture, picture in picture and etc., but has one serious problem...
Also the virtual cam capability for Skype/OBS/video conferencing is a hugely awesome feature.

I just used this and couldn't figure out why my audio was so bad. Glad I found this tutorial. I'm hoping they have an update soon for the audio, because otherwise it is an incredibly convenient app.
Just change your sound inputs and outputs to 44.1khz in Windows Audio Panel and the noise is gone, sound is 100% perfect.

I feel like I would wanna use this as a supplement for OBS Studio. If I was recording game play in OBS and I would want a webcam to be a separate video file, I would use LogiCapture to record the webcam, and use the OBS file for the game play and microphone recording.
If I look at it that way, the audio bit rate doesn't seem like too big of an issue. What are your thoughts on that?
Nice one, but as you indicated there was an updated version and the sound is now OK. I use it to set my Logitech camera up. The settings automatically get saved and picked up by OBS even when the Logitech app is not in use. Thanks for the video. Cheers

Hello, thank you for this tutorial. I'm trying to crop the video like you do at 9:09, but it doesn't work in V2.02.155 with my c922 Pro Stream camera. Also, it seems that the option to delete the Logo no longer exists. Can you help?

I have a Logitech B525 HD webcam and it doesn't work with it! So it works not with all webcams?
Watching this 10months later as I have an issue with it, and by reading the comments and seeing the end of the vid the issue hasn’t been fixed 10 months down the line so now I’m kinda bummed out. They really need to sort it and that’s the audio my mic sounds awful and I have an Audio-Technica AT2020
Great walkthrough. The issue I'm having on a 2015 MacBook pro is that the software is a major system hog. Utility monitor jumps up to only 10%-15% idle capacity, causing jumpy video/audio. What do you think gets it done as far as system specs? Buying a new computer tomorrow. Also, I'm using an M-Audio interface and while recording at lower resolutions (to accommodate my slower system) I didn't experience the loss of bitrate like you did. Might be something to check into.
can some one help me i try to use this to record some gameplay with a cam in the top right but it says it needs to rescale from say 180 to 720 but that doesnt work then it says to go lower and i just want to know is it my processor that need changing as i have a nvida gtx 1060
How do you turn off the LED light on the webcam? The old app did have that option

Was there ever a solution found to the audio? Recent vidoes I see it sound like it has but I'm still having he problem with the recorded sound. Software and all drivers are up to date.

96kbps for audio?! Yikers, yeah that's a bad bitrate. Plus the watermark, but the app does look clean and nice. Maybe if the have some Post-Rendering option added in where you can adjust the settings of the output file then I'd be willing to play around with it on OBS. Has potential for streamers for sure though.

Does Logitech Capture not have the option to do mono recordings? I'm only hearing my mic out of my left speaker. I'm using a condenser mic with a ur22 audio interface. In obs, you can just select mono, so your voice will come out both speakers. This doesn't seem to be the case with logitech capture.
Running Windows 7 Pro with a Logi C920. Program opens up fine but after selecting either recording video or snapshot, It creates an icon with nothing in it. On the phone with Logitech with the usual "I know nothing"
i think its out of beta now it popped up saying hey install this and it wanted to remove the old capture software - Ghub is still installed too

Were you able to fix the audio because it is atrocious. If not, I will have to record video in it and record the audio in Audacity or Cubase.

Audo sounds fine now, november 2020, when I'm using a condenser mic and an audio interface. But Logitech Capture only records the single microphone to the left stereo channel though!

12/22/2018. Looks like Logitech is actively at work on the program and has moved things around a bit. It's now out of "beta." I just got set up with the Brio and downloaded Version 1.0.553. There's a "Send Feedback" link second on the list. To see that menu, click the three dots in the lower left-hand corner.
I'm sure they would appreciate some constructive feedback, EposVox.

@@EposVox It seems the program Logitech Capture is something of a low-tier priority for the company. Or it's rather new and lacks adequate programmer resources to enhance the program's utility. Maybe in time? I think they prematurely kicked it out of 'beta' without certain critical features. I'm looking at v.1 of the Capture user's guide when the software was in v. 1.0.314. 1.0.553 is missing items.
I joined the Forum community with a question regarding where Advanced Settings "Exclude this app from desktop capture" disappeared to. No answer(s). I discovered a page documenting known current 'bugs' and problems, under Articles/Known-limitations-with-Logitech-Capture.
I'm trying to understand the landscape in the categories of streaming programs/utilities.
Logitech's FAQs "Advanced solution recommendations" sends user/owners to OBS, XSplit, and Player.me. Maybe I should take their advice and not waste time while they dilly-dally with Capture?

Wasn't Nvidia's Shadowplay the same at the beginning? The audio was unusable, It it might still be, I switched to OBS and never had a reason to switch to anything else.
Indeed it was...and probably still is bad. I have never had very good luck with audio in Shadowplay. I hope they get the audio sorted out in this program. It has some potential.
It's nowhere near as bad as this, and neither is any other third-party use of Nvenc that I've ever used.
@@EposVox I will give you that. My main issue with Shadowplay has been choppy audio at times...even on different systems. In fairness though, I have not tried using Shadowplay in a few months. NVENC is usually pretty good with audio, so I really hope Logi sorts this out.
It would be a cool tool for tutorial and lesson makers IF THERE WAS ANY WAY TO ANNOTATE OR HIGHLIGHT YOUR SCREEN CAPTURES OR SOURCES.
If you use Logitech Capture as input to OBS, does the audio quality improve over Logitech Capture alone?
I use logitech capture as a digital camera in ZOOM.
With two monitors, one of them I use the powerpoint (with videos / sound) on the slides on the second monitor.
The problem I have is: the sound of the powerpoint videos are not played along with the image.
How can I solve this problem?

Works with my C920.
Nothing in 2020 should require you to run your audio hardware at 44.1khz.
Also that doesn't make up for the 96kbps bitrate.
@@EposVox I am musician, you're wrong when you say "in 2020 audio require hardware at 44.1". There is absolute zero influence even in 48khz. "CD quality" as 44.1khz is labeled is enough to 99% of use.
And that 96kbps is wrong too: Must be the camera mic limit, I don't know because I use dedicated device to record (piano) and this app record at ~160kbps.
99% of instruments use that frequency, but I think it is not the point here:
You pointed a problem and I give some solution, just that, because that poor audio quality is a bug (not the standard quality).
Logitech Capture is compatible with C920, C922 and Brio cameras.
NOTE: If your webcam isn’t one of those listed above, you can download and install Logitech Camera Settings. This app enables basic webcam and settings control. So any other Logitech cam won't work apparently.
How can I use the webcam without the software I just want to use it through obs the software takes upwards for 15% cpu and is really intensive. I have the HD Pro Webcam C920

I'm with you! The audio is a nightmare. I've tried everything i could to improve it and nothing will work. It makes this application useless to me. I sound like I have a lisp in the recordings. Very disappointing. I actually miss the old software.

@@JoesGeekShow No, never fixed it. I had to go use another program because it was unbearable. I think we all need to complain to Logitech with the hope they will fix it with a new update.
@@MikeMBurke what gets me is there are a bunch of videos of people using it just fine and Logitech themselves just shrugged and said oh well when I they tried to figure it out but couldn't.
@@JoesGeekShow I personally couldn't find anyone who fixed the problem. It seems to be an issue with the software itself. I tried it on two very different computers and the problem was the same.
@@MikeMBurke makes me curious how some people in their videos got it working. Oh well there's other software. OBS has been my go to but its usually got bugs too. I guess its too much to fine a program that works.
I’ve been pulling my hair out trying to get this program to not be choppy when recording at 720 or 1080. I have the Logitech C920S. I have an i5 7600k. 32gb ram. And a 1080 GTX graphics card. That’s a decently fast computer, right? so why if I switch the recording resolution in this program to 720 or 1080, it’s so laggy it’s unusable? It’s fine at 320 resolution, but that’s not why I bought a HD camera! I can’t seem to find answers.
The camera seems to record fine using other programs like OBS. It’s just the Logitech Capture program where it can’t seem to handle recording in HD at normal frame rates
Im still using the Logitech Gaming Software, havent tried the G Hub yet, should i change the software?
Eventually Logitech will be moving towards GHub for good. no clue when

Can anyone help me out with OBS Studio? I've been having issues getting it to record the audio for mic and desktop audio. I've been trying to find a solution for days but nothing has been working. I'm ready to uninstall it at this point.
Have you looked at the settings? What device is it using?
@@47Hobbies I figured it out, for some reason when one of my PS4 controllers was plugged in windows recognized it as an audio device. For some reason that stopped my tracks from being recorded even thpugh everything was set up right.
hey, can you tell me why when i start recording a game with logi capture, which is minimalized and on the recorded video everything seem to be working but when im going full screen game, then on the records there is no sign of it? only the black screen and sound is left from recorded game but absolutely no image. why? i cannot record a games with this program while they are full screen? please, i need an answer ASAP. I can't for the life seem to get it the work in skype. In the video settings in skype the logi capture does not show up. my source c922 does show up but then when i select it and open the logi capture the screen just goes black. Anyone else has this issue ?
Niels Asselman Yes! I was attempting it with TH-cam. LogiTech support says to open Capture, then type in the webcam Address for TH-cam in a browser and then select the camera. It’s black and nothing seems to connect the app with TH-cam.

The audio quality is the deal breaker for me to use Logitech Capture. I’m sticking with OBS.
I have the latest version which I got from Logitech about 1 June 2019 and two things. 1. The sound remains abysmal and 2 I cannot get system sounds to work. On the display you get a mic slider/fader and a system sound fader and you think you can mix the two, but the system sound fader does not appear to work at all. So that's two reasons why it's useless for music tutorials. Just as you said, they were so close, and I was excited, just like you, but they missed. Hopeless. I don't want to over-react here but I would like to see all the software writers first flogged to within an inch of their lives, and then publicly burned. I am sure we can all agree on that.
I do not agree with your last statement. I do agree that it is useless, my MV7 sounds horrible through Logi Cap. Sounds great in Premiere Pro.
Why i don't have "Logi Capture" on OBS ?
Are you sure it's capturing audio through your mic and not the webcams? or both, which might be why it sounds not good.

I boutht C922 which uses the Logi capture software. My audio quality is fine with my Steinberg UR242 sound interface. Playbacks (audio) of recorded video (software Ver 2.02.115) only outputs 1-channel of the audio. My setups where stereo/recorded/accessories. I use Win10 64bit/ 16Gb Ram, 3.60Ghz Cpu & UR242 for all sound related).
OBS ver 25.0.8 however emits extremely low-volume and audio glitches/breaks is its norm (no matter what I tried in it) emits stereo playback & even when listening to tutorials?
No tilt/ nor streaming options in the software for the C922 (720P, 60fps/ landscape). The C920 can do it. Is it with the C922?
My Video Encoder shows: Nvidia Nvenc.

Your audio interface is producing a stereo streem in to the computer. And if your using a mono microphone connected to either audio channel input, you will be recording 1 channel stereo (audio on only one channel). This is a typical problem using stereo audio interface with simple streaming/recording software like Logitech Capture (or Quicktime player for that matter). I haven't found any simple to use software solution yet.
OBS can distribute a single cahnnel to both Left and Right, which you would think Logitech could fix!?
To bad I didn't stumble across this video earlier. I'm a teacher doing educational vid's (because of corona) and I went out and bought a brand new dynamic mic because of the sound problem, naively thinking it was an acoustics problem in my room. I even had a pretty good condenser mic to start with. Just change recording software and problem fixed! Come on logitech. Now version 2.00, april 2020, and still the same fatal flaw. I wonder if it's on purpose, so people won't find out that decent mics sound better that the one build into their webcams.
This video was very informative. The sound quality is something I can deal with for a beginner. I do have a question. I can’t seem to be able to do a proper screen capture. It always shows the Logitech Capture on the screen. How would I do a recording of the camera on me and the screen capture of me playing a game?

Except that's the only option available (unless you have QuickSync) and the audio quality is the same on both. And Nvenc is capable of just fine audio quality, I use it every day in my workflow. So if it's a poor implementation, that's still on Logi.

The problems with this software is: exported videos need to be converted to be used in Sony Vegas and the "Logi"-Watermark cannot be removed - useless.

THIS PROGRAM WOULD BE USABLE BUT FOR MY PROGRAM I CAN'T REMOVE THE "logi" LOGO FROM THE BOTTOM RIGHT... MAKES IT USELESS

Yep, just discovered this video and I am now annoyed with Logitech. The video quality through Logi Capture, so far, beats everything else I've tried. Yet the damn audio sounds robotic. SMH.

Ok. So I gave Logi Capture a go and it absolutely TANKED my FPS across the board. My Logitech C920's frames became unusable. Framerate in games while using it tanked too. So yeah...got rid of this garbage.
