Honestly, I really needed any kind of distraction and this was perfect timing to try and make my webcam look a little bit better as a side-project. Thank you.
This video made me realize that after 2+ years of streaming I had my C920 (which is a 1080p cam) on 360p mode this whole time. I win the BIG DUMMY award today ladies and gentlemen!🥇 Thanks for the vid 😄
Also normally you can half the res when you half the size so you may not have noticed if using a small cam screen, sometimes i use 480 for small cams like footpedel cam and save the 720 or 1080's for the large camera shots, zooms and close ups.
After all this time I finally stumbled across this video. My god has my quality has improved on my C922 after watching this. Them Lutz helped huge as well. Thank you sooo much!!!!!
I'm actually interested on the stuff but I feel you. I came here from another video and the guy in that one felt so pretentious and kinda like an ahole and didn't eve helped. I thought it might have been the difference but I guess is just the guy lol
This has been the most helpful lighting and camera adjustment vid I have seen thus far. VERY detailed and you go slowly enough that I was able to follow along and play with settings. Thank you so much!
I was searching for a video to adjust the webcam lag when streaming on OBS and found this one. Just downloaded the LUT filters and it makes a HUGE difference. Thanks for this awesome bonus!!
It was extremely helpful...I was frustrated as there were so many videos on the youtube about webcams but none of them were helpful and finally I found your video which helped me alot... Thank you so much for such a detailed video...
Quick note: The Brio is locked to MJPEG if you record at 60fps, but you can use NV12 or YUY2 if you drop the framerate down to 30. MJPEG is the most compressed so it will look worse. The higher framerate might be worth it for many people, though.
Thank you very much! I was testing each one of the LUT's available, and then two of them remaining in my selection: Brewer and Larson. When I was choosing between the two, I had created an 'Apply LUT' filter for each one, and by mistake, I activate both at the same time and its output was better than choosing a single one of them!
I just recently decided to give streaming a go and am starting with 0 experience and knowledge. I stumbled here looking for camera advice and wanted to let you know that as old and dumb as I am you still managed to teach me a lot. Thanks!
Really love your content. I've learned so much just from your YT content. I've managed to build a small twitch community and I wanna thank you for that. I espacially enjoy your podcasts they are amazing. Keep going my dude
Love the honesty on the auto-focus hahaha. Your videos are great, informative, to the point, and with explanations that make me understand WHY to do something. Thank you so much for all the effort you put into these!
Dude you saved my life. I was looking for fixes for the logitech's auto focus and one dude was saying to take apart the camera to re-adjust the lense.... This was WAY easier. Legend!
For those with Logitech webcams not natively supported by Logitech Capture, I found a hack described in this Reddit thread: www.reddit.com/r/LogitechG/comments/fox6wy/logitech_c930e_webcam_not_detected_by_logi_capture/. No idea why Logitech Capture doesn't support some of Logitech's devices.
love the content! Found you a few days ago and it has been quite some time since i found someone who explains actually helpful things in such an understandable way! thank you for what you do!:)
Absolutely legendary video. I was able to dial in my Elgato so well and also do the LUT ontop of using the new AR and Background AI features from Nvidia. NGL my cam game is the best it has ever been
Holy crap your content is so professional and well done. Really helps me have faith that you're going to give good advice when all your videos are so high quality! Love it!
'So you've just got your logitech......' - chance would be a fine thing! Out of stock absolutely everywhere! Great video though. Using it to adjust my cheap and nasty tecknet camera.
This is always the best channel for technical how tos. Perf production quality & rhythm. I find it so enjoyable to watch your tutorials as leisure & education all in one package. Thank you ❤
Hey, I'm not sure if someone else posted this in chat already but it seems that Logitech has heard us and made a setting for this. Instead of downloading Logitech Capture, you can install (or maybe already have it) Logitech G HUB. Its the new software for controlling all your Logitech stuff. While in G Hub, select BRIO, then click "Settings" (the gear at the top right), and you'll see a check box that says "Disable this device in G Hub to allow other software to have full control". With that checked, I've been able to set my settings with OBS, reboot, and everything stays. I can't speak to any other Logitech cameras but this has been amazing. I normally have to do minor adjustments and its nice to just do them in OBS. I'm not sure if Pete will see this, amongst the myriad of other comments, but if any of you can point this out to him, maybe he can pin a comment or add something else that might point this out. I have found it SOO much better.
goodness me, the difference is unbelievable after following these steps. and I was here thinking i had everything set up just fine!! thanks man, great video.
Yeah, I don't have it on OBS for Mac while running c920 either. I don't think this vid is going to solve any problems for me. I've been using Webcam Settings to override auto webcams like the built-in FaceTime HD and c920. But the dinky third-party utility still wrestles with the cameras own auto setting; sometimes the camera reacts when you slide the knobs, and sometimes it doesn't. And it offers no real-world numbers like shutter-speed or ISO, but instead arbitrary percent dial numbers for "Gain" and "Time". You get a one-dimensional White Balance slider (no pink/green slider).
when you edited your webcam in LogiCapture, and then went back into OBS did you have to change your source from "Brio Webcam" to "LogiCapture" so that it applied the settings you'd tweeked?
You can test this by adjusting picture in Logi Capture, Closing the program. Opening in OBS. If its default properties are changed from, then it must save the settings. Hope this helps.
I started a video production LLC in February 2020. I want to start doing editing tutorials, and I just want to let you know I love your set up and the editing you or your editor did. The video has a great pace and the audio is AWESOME!
11:27 This has always been a problem with logitech software, it only gives you a kelvin ajustment but no tint, so when you go manual WB, it sets a fixed tint and you ajust warm/cold but it might be too green or to magenta, you won't be able to ajust it. Crazy that auto allows for Tint movement but not manual, maybe it's not casual friendly, they should add an "advanced" setting
This video helped me improve Logitech Streamcam quality immensely. I tried so many other guide but this was a game changer. The LUTs are amazing. Thanks mate!
As ever this is an awesome video, Pete. 😁 👌 As always thank you for taking the time to put this guide together I definitely plan on utilizing this during my own streams when using my C920 as a secondary camera angle to showcase my setup or a few points of interest within my room. 😄 👍 👍 Cheers to you, my man! 🍻
Just started streaming, looked alot for guide in the internet, and most say your the only one that really make one understand it all much better. great videos and TY ! :)
I would have liked you to add the "What should you do if you had a green screen". Maybe it is kind of obvious, but to many obvious things are not that obvious these days :-)
One minute in and I'm just so relieved this video didn't begin "what's up guys" and then launch into a 3 million mile an hour barrage. You've also just offered to explain a whole load of things I actually want to know. I'm hovering over the subscribe button already.
Alternate title: how to improve your logitech webcam using a limited software only for logitech cameras and not a phone or any other cameras apart from logitech.
My man, the settings that are shown in the video can be applied for basically any webcam, not just Logitech ones. Also, of course he wouldn't be talking about phone cameras. It specifically states webcams in the title...
I have a Logitech C922 and an Elgato Keylight. The Logitech seems to be exposing for my dark background (or the average for the scene). If I increase my Elgato light my face becomes overexposed. If I lower the Elgato so my face is no longer exposed, the auto-exposure kicks in and I my face gets overexposed again, now with lots of noise as a nice bonus :/ The only way I can get decent balance is during the day with the blinds fully open lighting up the background.
This video helped me out alot with my DJ streaming setup using my existing Logitech HD C920. Thanks alot cuz the quality of my streams are alot better using everything given in this video including the LUT filters !!! Definitely recommend this
My man, this video is a MUST for newbies like me. Nicely put together, the detailed instructions with a showcase are very much appreciated. Also, The LUTs did a wonder. :) Just one caviat: Fellas, for anyone having issues with C920 not saving, avoid frustration and the Logi Capture. Not a good program, took its toll on my nerves. Instead, go for Logitech G-HUB. Actually good settings that save for next boot. Don't know why Logi have this many programs, but hey. At least this one works proper.
Ive got to say you really are excellent at these videos. They really are helpful and you explain everything so well and clearly. Im setting up a youtube gaming channel for my boy and your videos are so helpful. Thanks and keep up the great work.
Hey man, I just wanted to say thank you. I´ve had so many troubles with my brio in the past (bad image quality, settings not saving and so on) and you really helped. I also really like the filters. Thank you so much.

Feels kinda weird releasing content when the world is going through such a scary time. Stay safe my internet friends! 🙌
Honestly, I really needed any kind of distraction and this was perfect timing to try and make my webcam look a little bit better as a side-project. Thank you.
i read online that logitech's g hub software is able to save cam settings. i havent tried it yet. did you test it yet/could you test it for us? :D
it is weird but that's how life is. you too
Hey can you make a video on how to make a addcom command for nightbot cause I want to be able to add a command from my chat

Why do I like this guy so much. I’m not even interested in this topic but I like hearing him talk.

Yeah same. This video is useful if I had a facecam. But I don't have one.
He’s just so smiley and nice!

Wow this is amazing! Thanks for this video!
I was literally having trouble with my webcam and googling solutions right before you posted this video! Haha what a coincidence
Thanks!
Thanks! The auto focus has been an issue on my streams for a long time and I had given up on fixing it

Big thank you for this! I have spent the whole day re-doing my cam set up and this helped clean up so much!

What minute auto focus?
As soon as he said "how you can actually save these settings" I was sold...... Goddamn that is an annoying problem!
Hex to the yes it drives me crazy!
I didn't see where you can save the settings in Logitech Capture. Everytime I close it and reopen Logitech Capture I have to re set settings.
How do you install the Logitech Capture and let it open with just a click. Every time I try to open it will ask me to install and then launch it
you hit apply and then hit ok
