      OMG thank you so much for pointing this out. I was using MJPEG as well because it worked smoothly with my C920. But my CPU was like at 30-50% usage on OBS at times because of this setting. It meant the difference between running other applications smoothly or not. Then I saw this comment and re-checked the settings and changed it to H264 and it automatically changed my CPU usage to just 10-20% in OBS! I was shocked!! What a unbelievable difference one little setting takes.

    First off, can't thank you enough for the video! I've been using the logitech c922 for awhile now. (my current webcam streaming set up is 1280x720 on 30fps) My webcam looks great when im not streaming any Movement intensive games but when i do (fortnite or PUBG) my webcam starts to get very blurry or very pixiated . i understand this might be because of all the cpu usage but i currently streaming on NVENC preset on OBS. I've tried getting more light and messing around with settings but nothing seems to work. i even considered using a 2nd computer with an capture card but i want to try other options if its possible. My current cpu is i7 6700k with a EVGA GTX 1080 gpu.

    the problem is when u want to broadcast your stream with chromacam. its not stack !

  • @IcyRhythmsthereal
    @IcyRhythmsthereal 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Curious on your thoughts about TH-cam's new/larger video player. The larger size exposes some of the artifacting we see from lower quality record/streams. Even if you're recording and rendering settings are on point, it seems like the only way to help this now is to render in 1440p, even if you've recorded in 1080p. This will give you the extra bitrate that 1080p only videos won't allow on YT.

    • @EposVox
      @EposVox  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's not really larger, just adapts to the aspect ratio of the video. The original player change started in 2016 when they were first rolling out the new material design layout, made a video on it last year - th-cam.com/video/H851a7hEjDQ/w-d-xo.html
      Then they updated the default player view to also adapt to aspect ratios and I made an updated video about it last week - th-cam.com/video/5TEPRid0pUw/w-d-xo.html

    • @IcyRhythmsthereal
      @IcyRhythmsthereal 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok, cool. I actually missed that video. That being said, it still exposes the negatives that the low bitrate YT offers for 1080p videos. It still looks great on phones and tablets. Desktop viewing, however, that leaves something to be desired.

    • @EposVox
      @EposVox  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Eh, depends on your screen resolution, too. But yeah, TH-cam's 1080p codec is quite harsh. I always recommend recording in very high bitrates and upscaling for TH-cam.

  • @Cwattyeso
    @Cwattyeso 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Must be something I'm missing, as I have a Logitech C922 and when I go into the properties for the camera in OBS it only gives me the option for MJPEG, can't see or choose any of these other supposedly lower CPU options.

    Granted my computer isn't new, but my CPU usage doesn't get too high and the jittery problem keeps occurring even when nothing is being recorded.
    I've tried turning off all of the auto settings, have 2 LED lamps lighting my face to make it lit somewhat ok, tried every video format at a resolution of 320x240, even tried a lower FPS, but I still get the jitters. OBS has no functionality within it to delete videos. There's no delete option, no automatic cleanup, nothing. Either something else is deleting them, they're not actually being recorded due to an encoder error, or you just haven't found them.

    Up until now,some boy in my life has always done this stuff for me....but now I’ve been forced to learn from scratch.
    😳🙎🏼‍♀️🤓
    it’s kind of fun, surprisingly! (But Only when I actually get something to work the right way -and it seems like it’s magic!)
    I am very grateful for people like you who make these videos on something thats probably really obvious and dumb to you, but a mystery to me!
    the videos where I can see what someone is clicking /doing and explain why like yours are th e best. (Some just go through it so fast and then they just say ....”and then you just go and edit it and post it and you’re done”or something like that)
    I also don’t mind listening you feel like your voice and background ha ha. Just said just wanted to say thank you and also since I can’t help you because I can’t get online and work😫
    ...I’m just blaming it on that 😔I was already hurting before my camera down so this is the best I can do -thank you for helping me
    Got my stream and recording down... and I even got a split screen with both my Cams last night ( whatever😑 it’s a big deal to meConsidering I was all alone with no stream and no one to help fix it! It was traumatic)☺️
    I just need to figure out what I’m gonna do with these recordings.
    Don’t waste your time responding to me I just wanted to say thank you I might not see your response if I actually understand this video I will not be back here probably but I will check out your other ones and you have more important things to do
    And I have learned a little google.... I’ll be ok just keep doing videos and carry on. 🤤

    Just fishing for answers. Need help bad. I have a very high end pc. Definitely op for what I’m doing. I start obs. I’m not streaming or recording yet. I game for 20-40 minutes with it just running on second monitor. Then my game starts dropping frames bad. Sometimes even freezing my cursor. Lowering FPS on game helps a little bit but also just delays the lags(last longer before becoming choppy). Turning off webcam is similar but problem still happens after a while. Again I’m not even recording or streaming yet. Gpu and cpu are usually at 50% and ram at 20-30. Also my internet is definitely more than good enough but again not streaming so don’t think thats the problem

    its easyer to just have 2 pcs one that is just a capture pc and then the other is your PC you game on, that way you get max frame rate on you PC and don't need to worry about issues on the stream because another computer is doing it.

    • @RobertShaverOfAustin

      Not me. I'm looking for outstanding game play and cogent comments about the game. I only watch streams after they are recorded so I can skip the boring parts between games. I prefer edited game play that gives me the best parts. So I guess I'm really not in the demographic of streamers with their faces covering a corner of the game. :)
